Understanding Fan Meetings vs. Fansigns
First, it's important to distinguish between fan meetings and fansign events. A fan meeting is akin to a mini-concert where the group interacts with fans through performances and games, and tickets are sold like concert tickets [3:3]. Fansigns, on the other hand, involve more personal interactions, such as video calls or in-person signings, and entry is typically gained by purchasing albums
[1:1]
[3:2].
Finding Information on Events
To stay updated on fan meetings and fansigns, follow official fan clubs and artist management social media accounts on platforms like Twitter and Instagram [5:1]
[5:3]. These accounts often post announcements about upcoming events and how to participate. Additionally, artists' websites may list event details, including how to purchase albums to enter fansign raffles
[1:2].
Purchasing Tickets
For fan meetings, tickets can usually be purchased directly, similar to concert tickets. Check global ticketing sites like Global Interpark, Yes24, and Melon for availability [4:3]. However, some events might not be listed on these sites, especially if they cater primarily to local audiences
[4:2]. If tickets are not available online, you might need to check the venue's direct site or consider using a concierge service to navigate Korean websites
[4:1].
Fansign Entry and Challenges
Gaining entry to fansigns can be challenging due to high demand. Typically, fans must purchase multiple albums to increase their chances of being selected in a raffle [2:1]. The number of albums needed can vary depending on the group's popularity
[3:2]. It's worth noting that during the pandemic, many in-person fansigns have been replaced with video call events
[3:5].
Onsite Ticket Availability
If you're unable to secure tickets in advance, there's a possibility of purchasing them onsite if the event isn't sold out. This largely depends on the popularity of the group and the specific event [4:6]. However, popular events are likely to sell out quickly, so it's best to plan ahead
[4:5].
Hi, I'm currently in Seoul for a bit, and I was wondering how k-pop fans get to attend fan meets? For example, TXT have been having a lot of fan meetings recently and I'd like to attend one, but I just don't know how or where to get any information at all.... Can anyone help me out? Thanks! :)
usually a group will post all the info on their website (: they‘ll post a time period during which fans can purchase albums and also where to buy the albums to enter the raffle to join the fansigns!
i think it‘d be the same for txt!
so you‘d have to check txt‘s website to see if they‘re doing a fansign and when and where you can buy albums to enter the raffle!! if you have some friends who want albums it’s a good idea to make a deal where you‘ll buy albums for them in that store and get money back later from them (:
then you don’t have to spend so much money on trying to get in!! (or you‘ll just sell the albums later!) good luck ♡
Do you mean fansign? Fanmeets are more like concerts but with more talking, and if that’s what you’re looking for NU’EST have a fanmeet this weekend that’s on sale for 55k won/ticket.
But if you mean the personal sign sessions with limited attendance, then it’s fansigns you’re looking for. This twitter lists all fansigns in Seoul. But be prepared that the chances of getting into a fansign for a popular group is low, unless you buy like 100 albums (BTS, EXO, Seventeen are probably more). So it’s a huge investment.
I want to watch them live. what are the ways? plz help me on how to enter a fansign event.
also, i see people cheering in Inkigayo mnet kbs kpop talk that talk live videos, so how can i attend those ?
If you aren't based out of Korea/can't travel there during comeback period you can't do any of what you want to do.
To attend the live shows during comeback periods as far as I'm aware you show up to the broadcast and hope you are one of the limited spots. If you aren't you get put on a wait list and get a sticker. Normally wait list people don't get in.
To get into in person fan meetings the people that attend them buy 300+ albums to secure one of the limited spots for a single fan meet. I know of one person that bought 150 albums for the first fan sign and didn't make it in. It's a very tough thing to get into and you have to drop mad cash to make it into them.
Even the online only ones for like Soundwave and other sites take 100+ albums to secure a spot. Of course for the online ones sometimes you can get lucky and win by only buying a few but the chances are super low.
daammmn .. money game that means
I'm about to drop some money for a fan meeting but I never been to one. Do the fans gets to do a 1 on 1 for 2 mins with the artist(s) ? Is it a personal meet or is it like vlive? Where we talk to the artist(s) through chat and hope to be noticed lol. There's an option to get memorable merch for that day...but shipping is outrageous. I can understand why bc overseas. :/ Can someone help a girl out and tell me there own personal experience. Maybe it might help me make my decision.
Thanks so much! ♡
Fan meetings are kind of like concerts, except there's less songs and more fu segments where groups play some random games or interact with fans (on online fansigns they might read some comments, or video call fans who have been chosen beforehand after applying for example).
I think you're confusing fan meetings with fansign events - you get to video call idols during fansigns and you apply by buying their albums.
I think so too. But fan sign events are not happening bc covid right? I was getting confused bc I saw some past videos of twice where fans were talking to the girls individual through video. So this clears it up. Thank you.
Have you personally bought any merch from a fan sign or fan meeting?
In-person fansigns events aren’t happening, so they have replaced them with video call fansigns, where you get to 1:1 chat with the idol. There’s some events where you apply for a specific member, and other for the whole group.
You apply for the events by buying albums. The more popular the group is, the more albums you’ll need to buy to get in. Fansigns don’t have merch besides the album that you get signed, and some who give out special photocards with the sold albums.
Fanmeeting merch is just like concert merch.
No, fansigns are still happening! Because of pandemic they happen through video calls, in normal circumstances fansign is an event where you can meet and talk to idols in person. And I haven't bought any so i can't help with that
Fan meetings and fansigns are two different things, so let me explain that.
A fan meeting is typically like a mini-concert/social event where the group talks to their fans while performing songs and playing games. Its a pretty relaxed environment in comparison to a full concert. You buy a ticket and you get in. Fan meetings don't typically have the audience talk with the idols.
A fansign is where fans buy albums and hopefully get into the fansign. You will then interact directly with the idols in your group and you'll receive a signed album out of it.
tl:dr You will not interact with the idols during a fan meeting but you will with a fan signing.
Fansigns are much more expensive to get into because they require you purchasing a large amount of albums. Online fansigns are taking place, but they are extremely expensive because the pool of applicants is much larger (people around the world vs people in Korea) and due to the shipping of the albums. If you're buying like 25 albums, it can easily cost you like $200+ USD in shipping.
Oh okay! That is alot of money. I get it now. Thank you for the more details.
I'm a foreigner visiting Seoul in a few weeks, and I've struggled with using global ticketing sites in the past. This time, the fan meetings and musicals I'm interested in aren't even listed on the global ticketing sites at all. I'm wondering, if these events aren't sold out, will the remaining tickets be sold onsite the day of? Or does it depend on the type of event?
Just to confirm you’ve checked Melon, Global Interpark, and Yes24? I know some theaters sell their own tickets (I bought tickets for the LG Arts Center direct from them). Maybe if you let us know which events they are we could try on our end. Otherwise I might suggest a concierge service to help you if it requires navigating Korean websites. I would expect sold out events to show up on those websites if they had been available there. But hard to say depending on what they are.
Thanks for your reply! Correct, I've checked the global versions of all ticketing sites and I've also emailed the sites asking if they will add them to their global site (still waiting on their response). I'll check out the theater's direct site though, I haven't tried that before! I've also inquired with a concierge service but ideally I would like the ticket to be in my name, which wouldn't be possible if they purchased on my behalf. I'm mainly wondering in general if theaters/venues sell tickets in person, because I'll probably run into this issue in the future too.
The specific events I'm currently interested in:
최성윤 팬미팅 All about Yun (only on Yes24 KR): http://ticket.yes24.com/New/Notice/NoticeMain.aspx#id=15694
Musical Dream High (currently only listed on Yes24 KR and TicketLink KR, but they were on the global sites during the 2023 run):
Musicals aren’t usually posted on global sites since they assume only residents will attend. People don’t travel internationally just for a musical. They do for concerts.
If you try to use the Korean sites you won’t be able to authenticate or pay.
First link doesn’t start ticketing until 3/5 8:00pm kst
The second link opens 3/7 4:00pm kst.
These are not sold out yet since they aren’t on sale
You might want to check on r/KoreanMusicals too just in case they have more specialized knowledge.
No. They will very likely be sold out unless the group isnt very popular
There is a good chance it won't be sold out..and in that case, would the venue sell the remaining tickets onsite?
It’s not been sold yet at all. Wait till next week and see. No one can answer this today. Sales are on Friday and Wednesday this week.
I’m always seeing fan meetings happening on my timeline and all over social media. Where are people finding information about the fan meetings and where to buy tickets from?
I followed the actors, shows and media companies on Instagram to get more info on upcoming events. unfortunately I live on the wrong side of the world to actually enjoy Thai GL events but I hopped on Twt to “experience” the events as they happen
I also live on the wrong side to enjoy but I know that sometimes they travel outside of Thailand but I do have plan to go at some point and would definitely like to attend a fan meeting when I go
Depends on where you are located…. But usually in the artist’s management soc med… like Gmmtv or idol factory… etc….
For GMMTV artist all information will be inform in GMMTV all social media. Usually it will announce 1-2 month in advance from the event date.
If you follow the official fanclubs/basehouses on Instagram/Twitter they will post the latest meets and events.
Thank you so much. I always see them late and was so confused.
This is such an important information that I need.
Hi would you guys know the complete process or the requirements needed to be able to attend TWICE's yearly October fanmeet in Seoul? Is there like a reference somewhere I can take a look at? Thank you!
thanks!
thanks
Hello, I am new to jpop fandom thing and recently I am falling in love with the group so I wanna ask how online meet & greet or concert ticket sale work? Thank you.
Concert ticket sales dependent on the country of choice.
In Japan is via the Foreigner application. 2nd rounds are closed. They would have a guide to help with purchases in the website itself. (Lottery)
In Taiwan usually just via the event holder , first come first serve.
Becareful of scalpers and the inability to transfer tickets as they would check original purchaser to your passport must be identical.
Anyone going osaka august ? Saturday one ?
Are you from Taiwan? I am still looking for fellow buddies join anime expo in July
我不是台湾人,但很高兴认识台湾朋友✨
Oh…thank you for this information
There is the yearly concert application for foreigners for their tour in this few yrs , recommend to check out for that, but the application round should be close this yr
Oh…thank you a lot
Since the comments already answered your question. May I ask....
Who's your main?
Morita, Yamashita, Taniguchi, Tamura, or other member?
Main oshi is Morita and basically all 2ki are my second oshis 🤧
you can check the fansite sakurazaka101.com
they have basic tutorial about this kind of thing
Thank you…I will definitely check it
As mentioned by the previous comment, Sakurazaka101 has a guide explaining how to register to FortuneMusic, the service the group use for online meet & greet.
There's also this guide that goes into details on the whole online miguri process, it was initially made for Nogizaka46 but the service works mostly the same for the various groups that use it, and Sakurazaka is their sister group so the way they name the different events is the same between the two groups.
For concert tickets, I'm not too sure as I've never bought any myself, but from what I understand, when an event is announced, there are several rounds of sales, for people with fanclub subscription, people with Aeon credit cards, and general audiences. for some big events, they now also have tickets specifically for foreigners, you have to win a lottery to be able to buy those. I think the lottery system is also used for the regular tickets, but I'm not entirely sure.
Thank you for detail’s explanation…thank you a lot
Anyone who attended fansign video calls? What are your tips before, during and after the call? Thank you!
Depending on how long the call is and how many fans they will call, it can take up 2 hrs waiting.
I suggest you find a quiet place for those 2 hrs with no one bothering you. Some staffs are strict and might end the call if they see another person with you.
Get your form of ID ready (driver license or passport) and a place with good wifi.
This is optional.. I regretted not screen recording my fancall with my fav group. But it's up to you.
2 hours??? Wow. That's so loooong. I didn't know the waiting time. Thank you for these
How to get tickets for kpop fan meetings
Here are some key considerations for getting tickets to K-pop fan meetings:
Official Sources: Always check the official websites or social media accounts of the K-pop group or their management company for announcements regarding fan meetings and ticket sales.
Pre-Sales and Memberships: Many groups offer pre-sale tickets to fan club members. Consider joining the official fan club to gain early access to tickets.
Ticketing Platforms: Familiarize yourself with popular ticketing platforms like Ticketmaster, Yes24, or Interpark, which often handle ticket sales for K-pop events. Create accounts in advance to streamline the purchasing process.
Timing: Be aware of the ticket sale dates and times. Set reminders and be ready to purchase as soon as tickets go on sale, as they can sell out quickly.
Payment Methods: Have your payment information ready and ensure you have a reliable payment method. Some platforms may require specific payment options.
Stay Updated: Follow fan communities on social media or forums for tips and updates on ticket sales. They often share valuable information and experiences.
Recommendation: If you're serious about attending a fan meeting, consider joining the official fan club for the best chances at securing tickets. Additionally, practice your purchasing skills on the ticketing platform by trying to buy tickets for smaller events to get familiar with the process.
