How to Rank Up Quickly in Valorant

TL;DR

  • Focus on improving your skills and teamwork.
  • Play consistently and strategically.
  • Engage in game modes that maximize experience points (XP).

Skill Improvement and Consistency

Improving your individual skill level is crucial for ranking up. Many players emphasize the importance of practicing mechanics, such as aiming and movement, through deathmatch (DM) and team deathmatch (TDM) modes [3:4]. Regular practice helps refine your skills and prepares you for competitive matches. Additionally, maintaining a consistent play schedule can help you gradually improve and climb ranks over time [3:1].

Teamwork and Positive Attitude

Valorant is a team-based game, and effective communication and teamwork are essential for success. Being a positive and encouraging player can boost team morale and performance [5:1]. Focus on trading kills with teammates and listen to their calls, even if they seem incorrect, to maintain team cohesion [5:1]. Avoid giving unsolicited advice during matches, as it may not be received well [5:1].

Game Modes for XP and Leveling

To rank up quickly, it's important to maximize your account level by earning experience points (XP). Spike Rush is often recommended for fast leveling due to its short rounds and flat XP reward [2:2][4:3]. Unrated matches also offer substantial XP but take longer to complete [2:1]. Playing consistently and focusing on winning games will increase your account progression [4:4].

Avoid Tilting and Maintain Momentum

Tilting can significantly impact your performance and ranking. It's important to manage your emotions and avoid playing when frustrated [1:2]. Winning games by large margins can help boost your rank faster [1:3], but maintaining a steady win rate is more sustainable in the long run [3:1]. Keep a positive mindset and focus on gradual improvement rather than quick gains.

By following these strategies, you can effectively work towards ranking up in Valorant while enhancing your gameplay experience.

How do I rank up quickly?

ORIGINAL POST

I used to be silver 3, but then after a few bad games I got dropped to bronze 2. I know that I am silver/gold material though, since I almost got gold 1 before I started tilting and dropped hella ranks. I just can't seem to get enough winstreaks to get back into silver.

I solo queue, btw, so any tips on how I can rank back up and get momentum? I feel like I play better against better opponents in higher elo brackets for some reason.

I’m in the exact same spot I know I can get to gold but once I tilt it’s ggs. So frustrating bc I see people with way worse aim/awareness fluke there way to gold and it’s like bruh

Win games by massive margins, at least 13-5. I feel the game looks at that the most, which is kinda stupid but whatever. Other than that there isn't much.

Quickest way to rank up?

Posted by user43222 · in r/VALORANT · 3 years ago

I’m level 17 and new to pc.

I want to play ranked but going up levels takes so long. I can drop 25+ and still get barely any xp.

Anyone know what the quickest way is to get xp?

Also what should I expect going into ranked?

In my experience, nothing beats spoke rush. You get a flat 1k xp for at the most 7 rounds. So the time per xp, seems to be the best with that. Unrated can give like 3k I think, but it can take 25 rounds.

Account level work with ap not xp. And is 10ap per 1min playtime + first win of the day with 1000ap. Unrated is the best way to level as the longest playtime and less waittime.

Unless your skill is at least 2 to 3 ranks above your current rank, it’s impossible to climb quickly. No matter how well you perform individually, if your team plays extremely poorly, you’re bound to lose. If you do have the skill to climb, your win rate will likely hover just slightly above 50%. Being 1 or 2 ranks better than your current rank won’t give you a 60–70% win rate, so playing a large number of games is inevitable. As you keep playing, your rank will go up, and so will your skill. Honestly, there’s no cheat code for climbing—no efficient or easy method. The more effort and sincerity you put into the game, the closer you’ll get to the rank you want.

Its classic reddior logic if this is a toxic comment lol. I’m just saying the truth. Want to hit level 10 as quickly as possible? Play for 24 hours straight, and don’t focus on anything else. Especially not social medias, since that stops your from being locked it, which adds more losses, which delays your levelimg.

Honestly the difference between gamemodes isn’t that big.

The “easiest” is to play deathmatch, wiggle the sticks and read a book/play on your phone or do something else. Since you can be afk in dm without a ban and it doesn’t ruin anyones game.

But you can grind spikerush, swiftplay or unrated. Any benefit from spikerush over dm etc is decreased due to the wait times.

You get ap from play time, with some bonus from winning.

  1. Always be the positive, encouraging player on your team. When your teammates die: Say bad luck. If they get close: Hype it up, you’ll win next time. When you’re ahead: Hype it up even more and ride that momentum.
  2. Focus on trading. If your teammate dies, make sure you get the trade.
  3. Listen to your teammates even if you think their call is wrong. It’s better to just commit to a bad call, than go off on your own and ignore it.
  4. Don’t be the person giving everyone else tips during a round/match. It doesn’t go down well most of the time.
  5. Don’t be sexist

Im Trash

Posted by [deleted] · in r/VALORANT · 1 year ago

Hello, I’ve been playing valorant since basically beta but i’m really bad at the game. I finally “locked-in” this year and have putting some hours into valorant. Anytime i get on i go to the practice range for 30 mins, do some team deathmatch, 1 or 2 unrated games, and then competitive. However, my rank has actually gone from iron 3 to iron 2. Can anyone give me some tips besides the basic “crosshair placement” or not crouching, etc?

You're not trash, you're trash at the game. I honestly think an underrated piece of advice when trying to get better at Valorant is to not equate your game performance with your success or worth as a person. Try to not let a bad game affect your mood too much, just do your best to improve and have fun, skills will come in time. The most important things is to enjoy yourself, it's a hobby after all.

Realistically, you can only affect like 30% of the games you play (idk the stat, but it's less than 50%). The other 70%, you were going to win or lose regardless of what you did.

So with that in mind, you have to be like... gold to actually climb out of iron FAST. I don't know how long you've been stuck, but eventually you'll get out if you're in reality bronze or silver level. It'll just take longer. Just enjoy the games being weird and fun, bc everyone gets sweaty and tox like immediately after iron bc suddenly they all think they're actually good.

2 upvotes on reddit
chickennuggeeets · 1 year ago

Your teammates aren't really gonna be near good since you're in iron lobbies but so is the enemy team. What you can do about it is play smarter.

I was in iron for some time too but what finally got me out was putting thought (How the enemy plays; what gun they use, where they position etc.)

For example: Jett likes to peek mid with op and your team constantly peeks that and die, take map control and lurk your way to the Jett. Most people in that elo don't anchor sites anyway but be careful for those super passive players who just play on corners, there's so much of them T-T

Also take note of who likes to flank, do they flash before peeking that angle, where do they scan, which site does the sentinel play etc. Iron lobbies rarely have comms and usually just ping/type so you must be aware always.

No one (unless a smurf) has cracked aim so take notes of information and use that to your advantage. Prevent yourself from playing on autopilot, if you keep losing a duel on the same angle, stop. Repositioning is very essential too.

Honestly, your warm up is too much. One DM or even swiftplay is enough tbh. By the time you play comp, you might be strained already. Play one DM and do your comp games, thats where you learn and improve.

if it makes you feel better, I'm level 750 because I played too much spike rush when I was new cause I was overthinking ranked before too.

I got to my peak when I stopped caring about the rr and cared less about what my team did and focused more on mine. I was iron for two years, gold for one and I got to immortal on the following year because I took note of what I was doing wrong. We do things at our own pace. There will be good days and surely bad days.

And you're not trash, it just means there is plenty of room for improvement. Unlearning bad habits, improving game sense will get you out. Don't forget that it's a game so enjoy yourself! We each go by our own pace, trust yourself more ( Please don't warm up for that long ) Also, if you can record your gameplays so you can see what you could do better after!

Basically, take note of every information and use that your advantage and never autopilot, that's my advice. I believe in you, Goodluck!

So you do 30 minutes of range, tdm, and 1-2 unrated matches before comp? Sounds like you sort of burn yourself out before even starting comp. Warmup is a short and to the point appraoch. Just do like 2-3 30bots, and a single DM/TDM, should be better. And count your first comp match of the day as "warmup", while approaching it from a "how do I win" angle.

It's complicated. This video is a decent summary of how and when to use crouching in a fight.

Notice that he recommends not crouching at all during fights for Silver and below because those players don't have the basic mechanics of the game down yet.

Find people to stack with.

Basically every game has 1 3-stack,

2 2-stack+you in them or

1 4-stack + you

So the opponents you meet have most times equal or a bigger stack than you and your playing solo and can just hope ur teams stack doesnt suck. So your win probability skyrockets if you perform consistently well and stack with ppl who arent consistently playing bad.

Solo queueing in this game is the most dumb thing you can do since virtually no game in the history of valorant have been 5v5 with all players solo queueing.

Can only agree here. Used to be hard stuck gold 3, decided to start playing with even just two other friends. Made a big difference because now im plat 2. Alot of the time the rest of the team is either godly or the exact opposite and makes me wish I was full stacked. The useful info from your team and knowing that they have your back goes a long way.

Honestly, you can just make friends in game. If you play well with people just ask if they wanna queue again after and eventually you’ll have people to play with all the time.

1 upvotes on reddit
4chandotorgisbetter · 5 years ago

I only solo queue and I’m diamond, and have no issues climbing. It might be that you’re inconsistent and gold is what you belong at currently. I’d recommend taking a week off from ranked, and playing A LOT of unrated. I was plat 1 and just didnt feel like playing ranked. Played tons of unrated and got much better at the game; then absolutely curb stomped in ranked. I’m consistently playing well and having high-impact games. (Not necessarily high kill games, but make an impact so my team wins, KDA isnt everything)

5 upvotes on reddit
M
mataushas · 5 years ago

I'm stuck in high gold. My games seem inconsistent. Do you do any aim training? I think my issue might be slow reaction time, which can't be improved much I guess. That's why I don't play fraggers.

1 upvotes on reddit
4chandotorgisbetter · 5 years ago

I played thousands of hours of CS years ago, but a lot of the game sense carried over. My aim is definitely very good because I’ve played fps’s for so long, but my game sense and decision making plays a bigger role tbh.

Before I play ranked I warm up in the range. I shoot the static bots for a bit, then flick around in the sky range where the robots are flying and practice my spray on slightly moving targets. Then I go to the bomb defuse w/ hard bots and play that for a bit to practice keeping my crosshair on a wall while I’m moving around, if that makes sense.

All in all, biggest tip I can give to get out of gold/plat is to KNOW why you are doing something. A lot of people I play with will do something, but not have a reason. What do you want to happen? What could happen (usually dying)? And if you die, what are the odds the round is lost? If you want to wide peak B long on Bind def, think about it before you do it, and why its dumb or may be the right play.

All in all, have a reason for why you’re doing something. When you lose think about what YOU did wrong, not your teammates. In every game theres always rounds you can look back at and realize you were the reason the round got lost (bad peak, messed your spray up, should’ve went A instead of B w/ the info you had).

1 upvotes on reddit
BuildingSubstantial6 · OP · 5 years ago

This comment. This is my point against toxic players who keep flaming my other teammates for "bottom fragging" but they are the ones who use their skills to assist the good fraggers but still complain and blame them for losing -_-

1 upvotes on reddit
4chandotorgisbetter · 5 years ago

Yea, can’t stress enough how KDA doesn’t say it all. Ofc this isn’t an excuse to be negative and bottom every-game. You should be averaging decent damage regardless of agent. But a person middle-fragging could have much more impact on the game. (I.e. raze couldve gotten a 3k and died in a 1v5 when the team is already rich af; thats 3 unimpactful kills, whereas a 1v1 and winning means much more)

Spike rush and unrated are about the same per minutes

If you don't have a lot of time per day then spike rush is better as the first win of the day (doesn't matter the mode, gives 1000 AP bonus). It's easier to grind for that first win.

If you have more time then you're bound to win a game of unrated (hopefully), so it's the same.

Best agents for ranking up in Valorant

Valorant ranking system explained

Tips for improving aim in Valorant

AI Answer

🤖

How to rank up quickly in Valorant

Key Considerations for Ranking Up Quickly in Valorant

  1. Master the Basics:

    • Aim and Mechanics: Spend time in aim trainers or practice ranges to improve your shooting accuracy and reflexes.
    • Movement: Learn to strafe and counter-strafe effectively to make yourself a harder target while shooting.
  2. Map Knowledge:

    • Familiarize yourself with all maps, including callouts, common hiding spots, and choke points. Understanding the layout helps in positioning and strategy.
  3. Agent Proficiency:

    • Specialize in a few agents to master their abilities and playstyles. Understanding how to use your agent’s abilities effectively can turn the tide of a match.
  4. Communication:

    • Use voice chat or text chat to communicate with your team. Call out enemy positions, strategies, and coordinate plays to enhance teamwork.
  5. Play with a Team:

    • If possible, play with friends or a consistent group. Teamwork is crucial in Valorant, and playing with familiar teammates can improve coordination.
  6. Watch and Learn:

    • Watch professional players or streamers to learn advanced strategies, positioning, and decision-making. Analyze their gameplay to understand what works.
  7. Stay Positive and Adapt:

    • Maintain a positive mindset, even in losses. Learn from mistakes and adapt your strategies based on what you encounter in matches.
  8. Focus on Objectives:

    • Prioritize winning rounds over individual kills. Play the objective (planting/defusing the spike) to contribute to your team's success.

Recommendation: Aim to play consistently and focus on improving one aspect of your game at a time. Regular practice, combined with a focus on teamwork and communication, will lead to faster rank progression.
