Understanding the Content Release Structure
In Destiny 2, new content, including map regions and features, is often tied to specific events or updates. For instance, certain fragments or areas may remain locked until a significant event, such as the completion of a raid, occurs [5:1]
[5:2]. This means that players need to stay updated with the game's release schedule and community announcements to understand when and how new regions will become accessible.
Progression Through Story and Quests
To unlock all map regions, it's essential to progress through the main campaign and associated quests. Completing these missions not only provides access to new areas but also integrates players into the storyline, which can be crucial for unlocking additional content [3:2]. Players are encouraged to follow the narrative and complete story-driven objectives to gradually unlock more of the game world.
Free Access Periods and DLC Ownership
During specific periods, such as free DLC access events, players have the opportunity to explore content they might not own permanently. During these times, it’s advisable to prioritize unlocking and exploring new regions since any progress made during the free period could be retained [3:10]. However, note that some features or subclasses, like Strand from Lightfall, might require ownership of the respective expansion to fully utilize them after the free period ends
[3:11].
Community Resources and Guides
Utilizing community resources such as guides, videos, and forums can significantly aid in unlocking map regions. Many players share detailed walkthroughs and tips on platforms like YouTube, which can help locate hidden areas and complete challenging tasks [1:4]. Engaging with the community can provide insights into efficient strategies for unlocking content.
Future Updates and Expansions
Finally, staying informed about future updates and expansions is crucial. Bungie frequently releases new content that expands the game world, so keeping an eye on official announcements and patch notes can ensure you are ready to explore new regions as they become available [5:3].
Any of them from any location or source count towards Dreadnaught Collector for the seal. As of now the only reward is strange coins and triumph score.
There are:
24 in the Nether
11 in the rest of the game world.
6 from Ambition and Resolve
5 in court of Blades
5 from the Drifter
9 are from Nether secrets, any secret will do from Toland or more secret.
I am at 60/60.

##The eleven out of the world:
Edit: (Video: Credit to 360. https://youtu.be/y7_8QSOusuo?si=zjobeFfFMHoflfxK)
Europa: To the right of Elsie, near a little cliff
Europa: By Big Clovis Head
EDZ: Near portal to traveler shard by the sludge
EDZ: On a large cliff to you left from Winding Cove spawn
Eris Apartment (4): obvious on radar, in her apartment and into the hallways a bit. None in her throne world.
Tower: Zavalas Office
Tower: Near to Drifter
Tower: Secret Daito Room, go to the hangar, jump onto the FWC building. Go above the hallway towards the main tower and go through vents.
##Ambition / Resolve 6
Kill enemies to spawn the random orbs. Pick up ambition orbs, pick up the small little resolve orbs after breaking the big one. They don't always drop, especially from later ones you need, just keep getting them it'll work.
##Drifter 5
I'm not sure what triggers this but Drifter had 5 pieces in his inventory one after another. I think getting other pieces unlocks more from him, others are reporting only 1 or 3.
##Court of Blades 5:
Each room (3), go into each boss arena, find one chess piece in each. Ice it's far left, dreadnaught it's above the spawn portal, Io it's back left.
Path Rune Purchase, purchase the rune respective to ambition / resolve and get a piece.
Completion, finish and get a knight piece. Not sure if you need x13 Champs but we had it.
##Nether 24:
Working on Dreadnaught piece write up. Check back soon. It seems to be 6 per area, with NONE in the hull breach. Which seems odd.
Edit: I'll try to post videos as I find them. That seems like A LOT of typing lol.

Nether: 7 in Hall of Souls, 7 in Founts, 5? in trenchway, 5? in mausoleum. I only found 5 in mausoleum, so I lost track of my counting.
After respawning into HoS, I did the jumping puzzle from middle and found a real piece at the top. Then respawned into Founts and found a obvious piece that I really shouldn't have missed my first spawn.
This sounds correct
EDIT: Is. I was keeping track and had 1 left. Spawned into HoS again and got the last one in the jumping puzzle.
The remainder throughout the Nether are pretty easily found with your radar
If you need videos I maybe have some for you (will updated / edit this post)

Thanks! Unfortunately the first Fount video was missing 1 chess piece :( The new in this comment above is now complete
Gods work thank you for getting these up so quick immensely helpful for the last ones in the founts and hall of souls that I was missing
I hope the always get the exotic drop from dungeons/raids first try.
Have we any idea what they're about? Apart from the coins in the triumph, anything else unlocked, maybe some voicelines, a cutscene or something?
Drifter has some text, but it's more surprise. Setup for Rite of the Nine probably
There is more coming with it, dont worry, and no its not for rite of the nine, its for something different. But i wont spoil it
Just so you know, right now all you get is 13 regular Strange Coins. Not sure why they showed as "Exotic" initially, but yeah. Just 13 coins so make sure you're not full/at max when you redeem triumph.
I thought they were different, and now I've missed out on 4 strange coins. Also, why is it such a pathetic reward?
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is available to PlayStation Plus members May 30.
The Legacy collection is also on there from June 4, so new destiny players with PS+ will have access to almost entire Destiny content up to FS, including several dungeons.
Only the dungeons before WQ. Any dungeon after witch queen you still need the key or annual pass.
Great, might check it out again. Still want to finish the fight.
Do I have to play lightfall before TFS?
To fully understand the story? Yes.
To just have access to TFS? No.
You do need to play Lightfall to unlock the Strand subclass.
They just need to know “Radial Mast” and they know the story of Lightfall.
I wouldn't even go that far. I'd just say "No". You're much better off skipping lightfall entirely and if you really want to find those little pieces of story, use YouTube.
Lightfall's story was nonsensical, and poorly executed.
Yeah Lightfall has some sick gameplay but yeah the story is kinda ass compared to Witch Queen or Final Shape, but overall for strand, the raid and loot it’s pretty worth it to play through
People complain about Lightfall's story, but the gameplay is still fun so I recommend it. Plus it's how you unlock the strand subclass, and that alone is worth it.
I haven't had PS+ in a while, is it free just for the month of June or free in perpetuity once acquired (like standalone games)?
EDIT: Thanks for the responses! I moved to PC but I have a friend who has refused to come back to D2 because they're behind on expacs. Maybe with the newest expac they'll come back for the story and I (or the game) can convince them to stick around.
You need to maintain the PS subscription in order to access it. Otherwise, you’ll “own” it but it’ll be locked/unplayable.
Bungie doesn't exactly handle that well. I remember when Beyond Light was on Game Pass. Once it went off gamepass I immediately lost access to the stasis subclass.
I could understand not being able to play the content (i.e. raids / dungeons) but it seemed a step too far to me to re-lock the subclass.
The next DLC comes out in about 2 months but it’s definitely worth it to dive in and play the final shape campaign.
From what I’ve heard, between July 8 and 22 all Destiny 2 DLCs (up to The Final Shape) will be free to play, and anything we earn will be ours to keep — is that correct?
I already own all the expansions up to The Final Shape. My friend, however, doesn’t own The Final Shape — and I’m not sure if he owns any other expansions besides that.
So we’re wondering:
Thanks in advance!
Big picture, depends of you and your friend are wanting loot mainly or to get into the story and systems. If you want to get into the game, legendary campaigns from witch queen and light fall will get you a couple of fun exotics and are great intros into the story that normally aren’t free. Final shape would also be nice story wise before the episodes. This route will also get you some fun destination weapons and armor, which are especially nice from final shape imo.
As for loot, I would try to get as many exotics that are behind paywalls as possible. Final shape first, so you can do dual destiny and get exotic class items and others from that expansion (I.e khovostov) bc they are recent and pretty good. I’d then hit episodes for their loot and exotics since they will be going away for the most part.
I dont think there is anything that you cannot miss bc typically you are able to grab all the exotics after as well, but maybe if there are some specific rolls of episode weapons and/or holofoils you want
Xurs selling choir of one atm - id farm some coins before Tuesday and buy it. By far my most used weapon since it came out, and this season with free volatile it was extra juiced.
Oh wait I'm not sure if he can use it without TFS though. I'd check on that.
Other than that I'm not sure. Maybe some of the ROTN weapons, but there aren't many that are really all that potent. Not anywhere near into the light where almost every single weapon was great.
Idk if he can buy the guns from banshee that were from the weightgate shit, but he should grab multimach at least which was iron banner and not TFS content.
Go for some dungeon exotics maybe like spires hierarchy of needs, it's getting a nice buff. All the other stuff I can think of really is TFS locked so I'd just go for exotic weapons and armor more than anything.
You can pick up and use Choir without Echoes but you'll need TFS to reshape and apply catalysts in the future. Also anyone can pick up Banshee weapons except the dungeon ones which require at least 1 clear and therefore the dungeon key ownerships.
Rite of the Nine is already free to all players so there’s no need to focus more on it if they got the exotics from it.
Just FYI, you can use any gear without owning anything. You just typically can’t EARN specific gear without owning specific content.
As an example, if you own all content on Xbox and earn the Divinity exotic, you could load up your save file on PlayStation and still use Divinity even though you’d be unable to launch Garden
I've done the best I can but I'm slightly confused by point two "exotics we must not miss" would you mind elaborating?
1: If you have max rank at rahool already you should buy the final shape and Reverent exotic armours you care about most(or all of them if you can afford it)
2: play though the campaign to unlock post campaign content, I'd suggest probably playing on normal as it's faster unless you can't get new exotics from rahool and desperately want one of the final shape exotics
3: in terms of what will stay and what won't generally: you'll lose access to prismatic and any missions, but you'll keep any weapons or armour (including exotics)
4: ergo sum and the exotic class items are very fun and powerful, but there is an extreme amount of rng around them and you are unlikely to get a roll you will use consistently so I would suggest ignoring them until you have nothing else to do EDIT: DO NOT GRIND EXOTIC CLASS ITEMS, I forgot they only work on prismatic and you lose access to the subclass if you lose the dlc, so they're worthless unless you buy the final shape in the future
5: don't worry about unlocking prismatic fragments/aspects as you wouldn't be able to use the subclass after July 22 unless you buy the dlc again
6: kbostov is a very strong and fun exotic kinetic primary but it requires a fair amount of grinding, I'd say it's probably worth it, but use a guide to make sure you're being as efficient as possible
7: look up the "season pass pass"(not a typo) extension for your Firefox browser(if you don't have Firefox it's worth installing just for this), it'll allow you to claim past season pass rewards and all past season passes from echos to heresy are currently free but you can't access them, this extension allows you to claim items from past season passes, including the rank one exotics whitch you can get regardless of wether you played that season or not
8: grab still hunt and microcosm, both are strong exotics that are pretty quick to get if you know what you're doing
9: once you've done everything above I'd say your best priority is either grinding pale heart weapons/armor and ergo sum/exotic class items (all can be framed by playing machmade overthrow in the pale heart so it's quite efficient overall), OR:
10: if you're confident raiding you could try and get some loot from the raid, it's quite a difficult raid(especially the Verity encounter) but the final checkpoint can be done no coms if that's more your speed
I think that's everything I can think of but feel free to ignore anything I said here, I just wanted to give an outline of what I thought the best path would be, and if there's anything I've missed because it's been a long time since I played final shape or if you have any questions just let me know
If you have finished the TFS campaign and have access to the cyst missions you can grind out all of kovostov in an afternoon solo. It's not THAT bad. Guides will get you through it rather quick.
I agree it's not that bad, I just wanted to call out that it's more of a grind than the other final shape exotic weapons and that it might be longer than they expected
Regarding 4/5, I thought they said you can keep everything you earn during the free period, so shouldn’t you be able to access them once the free period ends? (Exotic class item and prismatic)
You would keep access to the exotic class items but currently people who unlocked Strand during the free period last year but don't own lightfall can't equip the subclass, so I'm assuming the same is true with Prismatic and as such while you should be able to keep any exotic class items you earn you wouldn't be able to use them as you won't be able to equip Prismatic
You can focus high stat armour (60+) at Failsafe with Echo engrams
If you add it to a loadout it still give them access to Prismatic there’s a certain method you have to do though. Let me get a capture and show you how to do it and I’ll link it in a bit
So I put in approx 3k+ hours into destiny 2, from its destiny 1 beta release through the completion of the light/dark saga a year ago. Haven't touched it since because I've got 2 little kiddos and keeping up with all the content became too overwhelming and I'm a completionist lol. I keep hearing about how amazing warframe is and I tried it a little bit but there's so much to it and it feels overwhelming.
I know there's a ton of content and just need to take it slow but it's been a while since I played and need some help sorting through the content to figure out a route for myself to start something new
So, probably too general, but how does this game all work? Anyone willing to hop online with me and walk me through some things? I'm on ps5
I know there's a clan system in the game but not sure how to go about that
Any help would be greatly appreciated:)
The main thing you should focus on right now is just progressing through the star chart. Do the regular missions, unlock junctions, stuff like that. You can usually do quests as they unlock. Sometimes you'll have to farm missions for crafting materials. Keep an eye out (or check the wiki) for missions that drop endo so you can upgrade your mods. Having an optimized build isn't super important that early on so you kinda just slap whatever you have on and you'll probably be okay
The new player experience is honestly kind of abysmal so you should never feel bad about asking for help. Personally I think you should do some of the earlier missions solo, otherwise sometimes you'll get high level players blasting through the level without letting you learn the feel of the game.
I'm at work right now but I'll try to dm you later to help out
Newbie advice for fellow newbie. (300+ hours, most of star chart unlocked, MR 11, just finished The New War, about 10 Warframes unlocked.)
Focus on progressing through star chart and unlocking all the planets, etc. Do the main mission quests as they become available, but don’t rush into The New War without first developing your Railjack with crew members and various upgrades. Also take time to farm up and build your Voidrig Necramech before you progress much further past The New War.
Take it slow and enjoy the game. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Some frames are tactically helpful: Ivara for invisbility for Spy missions and Rescue missions. Titania for cheesing quite a few really challenging Mastery Rankup tests. Mag for cheesing EVERY Junction boss. Everything else is up to you and your playstyle presences. Enjoy!
Bungie stated that the last 4 fragments will be unlocked after the day 1 raid will be completed, so likely either after the daily reset on Sunday or on the weekly reset, next Tuesday.
Hell yeah, I appreciate your answer man. I can't wait for titan invis lol
It'll unlock when the raid comes out
They are literally to op to use in raid
Raid.
Yeah, I think Bungie kept them disabled until after the raid gets cleared. They’ll probably automatically unlock at some point after that.
This got asked once before by a person named soulgutter. Such for Crucible most wanted here and you should find it.
Apparently he only appears in Very High Difficulty League of Shadows Illegal Hacks, this is gonna take some time lol
They may also appear at Officers Under Attack crime types. I will paste a reply I made to this subject from some time ago. It may help you in manually getting a map to your benefit. See 👇🏼
From Belfry, launch a villain case file or showdown. Once it loads, cancel it to return to Belfry. This will refresh the map with new crimes. Rinse and repeat until you get a map with very high league crimes. It is entirely random but this may help speed things up some.
Staking my claim early here, but it’s quite likely that the new location for The Final Shape will likely just be the Traveler itself. It’s now separated from the tower and helm, and it’s taking up a lot of space there now. Especially with post-Lightfall conversations, it’s quite obvious we’ll just get an answer to how the veil works, hop in there, and Gjallarhorn the Witness to death.
… and if it’s not a patrol zone, it’ll be what you click on for the raid or missions or something. Feel free to dunk on me in a year if this is not the case, though.
bungie loves hanging guns on the wall to use later, but then they get too busy hanging up more guns on the wall that they run out of time to use the original guns
I figured the Final Shape was literally a shape, maybe formed by 3 elements. The traveler, the ring of pyramids, and a 3rd element, creating a shape somewhat close in resemblance to bungie's 7th Column
I think it'll be a hexagon. Just like the loading icon that goes from Circles, to triangles, to Hexagons.
Plus, 6 sides, 6 elements, 6 person raids...it all fits.
The loading icons are the 3 class icons.
The 4 shapes forming a hexagon is titans (the 4 orders of titans that fought at Six Fronts)
I'm sure someone else can fill in the warlock and hunter iconography, but they are also there.
The Final Shape is the "collapse" of space and time into itself. Something like the Big Crunch. It's pretty obvious... Right?
Oh a neat thing is she’s associated with Venus and we first find the Ishtar collective on Venus
That’s it. Bungie said the next subclass does strange things with physics. I bet it’s some between quantum realities shit. Let’s us control things across dimensions, and enter the ethereal realm the witness did.
Ah yes, the Final Shape subclass McGuffin lol.
Calling it: the last Darkness subclass is pink-hued and we'll need to master it in order to breach the barrier.
A pink, fractal-filled barrier which is surprisingly reminiscent of the locked flower/vagina doors in Savathûn's throne world. Just saying...
Bungie dismantled Chekhov's Gun a long time ago.
Guardian: Sir, permission to leave the tower?
Zavala: On what grounds?
Guardian: Sir, to give the Witness back its bomb.
Zavala: Permission granted.
The terraformed ship the raid takes place on should do the trick
Control works. Clash seems to work now at least (didn’t on the first match). But after 3 Rift games, I haven’t had progress for the bounties and stuff that requires Solstice Scorch games
I got progress on my triumphs and the daily yesterday (1 game was Rift). I had Rift > Clash > Control (all counted).
Did you attempt to carry the spark at any point or were you only going for cannon kills? I'm willing to bet unless you get one of the qualifiers for Rift "objective" completion it may treat you like an AFK and not give progress for the game.
Rift (based on what I've noticed with the IB version) counts objective progress as carrying the spark, dunking the spark, and killing the enemy spark runner ("protecting" your own runner seems to be inconsistent with counting as "objective" completion).
A side complaint, Scorched Rift really really sucks. It is absolute stalemate usually until the time runs out because it is so easy to kill spark runners with the scorch cannon, so it's a constant trade the entire game.
Can confirm it didn't count for me. 18 kills, 4 carries, 2 dunks, 0 progress
Could be the rare bug /u/GreenLego mentioned. Since we have fewer bounties, the bug probably goes unnoticed for most. In the past it sometimes corrected itself after a few games or by completely closing the game and starting clean (maybe even clearing caches on console systems to avoid issues caused after using "sleep mode" for a long time).
Scorched/Rift counted for the triumph for me. I did one yesterday and it gave me 1/7.
This is ANOTHER of many stupid mistakes Bungie made due to them NOT testing anything. The reward tier system and solstice scorch cannon only rewards per kills mainly. Complete was of time and another screw up related to the untested reward tier grade system.
It was not working for me then I figured out I had to go to the Play Now section in the Solstice menu and run it from there.
It worked for me.
It sounds like the age old bug where Crucible stops tracking for triumphs and bounties. It's a known bug by Bungie ever since beginning of D2. Rebooting usually fixes it, sometimes requiring multiple reboots though.

The most upvoted review for Edge of Fate on Steam is:
>I got so bored playing this campaign, I considered finishing it tomorrow. But then Id have to play it tomorrow.
Though to be honest, I'd probably buy it if they just let me play on Steam Deck.
Same! Super disappointed that the only way to play on the Steam Deck is to dual boot Windows or GeForce Now. Rather play anything else at that point.
What an absolute cluster fuck this shit is, nobody has any idea what contains what
idk man but 8 euros for 7 DLC's is a no brainer
People that can read have an idea.
Exactly. Does the Legacy Collection have the dungeons? They're in the lidt, but the finenprknt says they're sold separately. Bungie has become a weird ball of confusion.
Not sure how many have noticed but I went back to Petra after doing the step to get the four fragments and she was selling the starting items. No need to find all those chests in random places. Not sure what’s required only had one left to grab at that point. Just thought you should know.
Just go to Petra and she will give them to you
Where are the four fragments? Im confused
At Petra
