TL;DR Street Fighter 6 introduces a new generation of characters including Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly. These characters represent fresh additions to the roster with unique fighting styles and backgrounds.
New Generation Characters
Street Fighter 6 has introduced new characters like Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly to represent a new generation of fighters [3]. These characters are designed to bring fresh dynamics and diversity to the game. Luke is known for his powerful punches and military background, Jamie brings a unique drinking system to his fighting style, and Kimberly adds flair with her artistic and acrobatic moves.
Character Development and Design
The design and development of these characters have been discussed extensively by fans. There is speculation that Sean, a character from previous games, was reworked into Luke, although this remains a theory among fans [3:3]. The introduction of these characters aims to refresh the franchise while maintaining its core appeal.
Fan Reactions and Wishlist
Fans have expressed mixed reactions to the new characters. Some believe that other characters should have been included in the base roster instead [3:5]. This reflects the ongoing discussions within the community about character preferences and expectations for future updates.
Cultural References and Inspirations
Street Fighter 6 continues to draw inspiration from various cultural references. For example, there is a new "Polnareff" skin which seems to be inspired by characters from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, showcasing the game's blend of global influences [4].
Overall, the introduction of new characters in Street Fighter 6 is seen as a positive step towards evolving the franchise, offering players diverse options and engaging gameplay experiences.

I love this map. There is a higher definition version that gives much more detail.

Thanks for sharing, nice website.
Btw that very broad street is Broadway.
I'm broad, I'm broad, I'm broader than Broadway

Guess they really committed to the whole Broad-way vibeGuess they really committed to the whole Broad-way vibe
You can see a lotta ladies there too.
Surinam was rich in bauxite. The stuff that aluminum is made of. And New Amsterdam had nothing. So who's laughing now?
The wall was to defend against native Americans, the Dutch were very explicit about that. The british didn’t “ignore the wall” and they didn’t “take it by sea”, they arrived with three ships (as you would coming from across the ocean) and asked them to surrender and they did, bloodlessly. The Dutch actually retook the land a few decades later.
Arriving by ship and successfully demanding surrender sounds like the very definition of “taking it by sea”, blood or no blood
Also the two Johns
Ooh, commenting to read later.
Hell yeah! If you have any thoughts when you come back to this, let me know!
This is absolutely AWESOME, I'll be using this on my campaign. Although you said to not use them at the start of the campaign, I'll use them near the start, just putting less properties on weapons and not using the stronger ones.
But all in all this is a solid homebrew, nice one dude, you cooked
Thanks so much for your kind words! Awesome to hear that they will have a place at your table! If you are planning on giving them to your players early on, something you can do is have the character slowly "unlock" more properties the higher levels they get or by training with a specific NPC, as they learn more and more how to "use" the weapon effectively!
I like this a lot, but I’ve got to give you a mathy criticism with the “balanced” property. The average of a d6 isn’t 3, it’s 3.5, and for a d8 it isn’t 4, it’s 4.5.
There is a mechanic that allows you to kinda replace a low damage roll with the mean roll of the dice: a re-roll.
A savvy player knows to only re-roll dice that are under the mean score of the dice, and over many rolls this re-roll will return the average value.
This shit gas, using the double berool for sure
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Isn’t Sakura now wants family and children and not interested in fighting
Wasn’t sean reworked into luke? Can’t remember if that was real or just a reddit theory.
You want to replace a character with a unique drinking system with a shoto?
These 3 SHOULD'VE been the next generation right from the start. It baffles me they weren't included on the based roster

He really looks like an american fusion of Stroheim and Polnareff.

That's von stroheim
He had the Polnareff haircut until an artist widened it as a joke but no one noticed and it made it to the final design. Despite having his design based off of Polnareff and being named after J Guile the change in hair was not done as a reference to Stroheim
That's Jean Pierre Stroheim 😂
Rudolf von Polnareff
I'd be so into NW's aesthetic and world, if not every server would come down to a single guild dominating everything after a week, killing it's PvP-Sandbox right away.
I played for the first couple weeks after launch and realized PvP would be its downfall. Any game that designs and enforces PvP as a core game mechanic inevitably snowballs servers into a single guild since no one wants to lose.
They’ve never been able to figure out a way to incentivize joining the weaker factions so the strong guilds all power-struggle in the dominant faction and then join the biggest guild OR switch servers and start anew.
Without creating a reason to stick around on a server or commit to growing a “losing” faction it inevitably snowballs into something that makes the entire 3-faction system worthless.
At least with the new expansion there’s a tacit renewal of the PvE aspect of the game which has been pretty neglected for the past few seasons after Aeternum. The PvP portion is basically “solved”.
Is it fun for a casual player? I'm in the mood for an MMO and I've been thinking of New World or Guild Wars 2.
I'd say it's especially fun for a casual player!
I've been off and on for GW2 for years. I'm on it now and it's just super fun to me. Story is meh, but the world and the combat is just endless fun.
I quite enjoy the story. I've been playing it on and off since release and I'm only just arriving at the third expansion's story missions.
With the living world, there is a lot of story content to play through. The big advantage of this kind of MMO is that you can put the game down for a year or two (which I've done repeatedly) and when you come back you're not behind and you have no pressure to keep playing or cancel a subscription to get your money's worth.
I think both games are fairly fun. Story is probably "meh" in both games. Nothing ground breaking. Some bad parts here and there, some good. Both have lots of content. It will honestly come down to the aesthetic, theme, and overall combat design in my opinion. So I would take a look at that to decide. Gw2 also has a free to play mode if you want to try it.
I know this game has its issues, but in a sense I'm glad it's still trucking along. I have no clue how it makes money, given that it's owners are quick to shut down unprofitable projects, but I should give this a proper chance one day.
Its fun for a casual player. Just make sure if you're playing on console to join a crossplay server because just about all console only servers are dead.
Still remember being there on New World Launch day and then putting in 400 Hours in 3 Months with a group of friends.
Almost got carpal tunnel from the left click gameplay loop, put me off from playing these types of "real time action" mmos really fast. Some of the dungeon bosses was literally just spamming left click for a solid 1-2 minutes to maximize DPS..
I later realized I would have never touched the game with a ten foot pole if not for that group to do PVP with. But once we dominated our server with most regions held, we became bored incredibly quick.
Thats not how it works for that group of people. They run a discord specifically to no-life these kinds of PVP MMOs. I am no longer part of the group. But they have set their sights on games like Ashes of Creation as well.
This means whatever characters will be the new culprits are going to end up rising in scale am i right.
I have a theory about what will trigger the new storyline
i'm all ears.
The evants that will trigger the game would start a complete alternative timeline to say right and from the statement different culprit and victims this mean difference in the original plot in term of what happened so maybe for example the event with who would aid in setting up the party would be different or some event that would block nagito from doing his plan to kill fake togami
I get Junko pregnant and our child becomes the new despair
Nah you'd die before you got any despuss
No shoes we have confirmations of DM at 6’1. At the 2009 NBA Draft Combine, Blake Griffin was measured at 6-foot-8.5 inches (6-8.5) in bare feet and 6-foot-10 (6-10) in shoes. Luke was 6-7 barefoot.
Mitchell is confirmed to be 6'1
Fucken Taylor
Griffins closer to 6’7-6’8 range
This is bullshit. In another post on X, Capcom had announced that we could get that color "at a later time" by raising Sagat's Kudos...
Really? I could wait for that instead then. I'm not crazy about this colour.
Nope he's talking about a totally different color
Damn, the color is nice, but a subscription for a single color is too much
At first I assumed that it would be a subscription to any (or a selection of) streamers playing SF6, but the fact that you've gotta essentially "buy" this from Capcom by subscribing to only one of their channels feels gross :P
Yeah, if it was like the other twitch colors, we could at least help a small streamer
How much does that even cost?
It's 6 dollars. Not much, but a lot for a single color.
i wish it was for costume 2 costume 1 doesn't mesh with me.
yeah i love his old school fit and honestly hate his new one
Pass. It's essentially a more convoluted way to pay for a skin.
They are smoking 🚬 some good stuff at Capcom with these choices. How about giving us outfits we actually want? Maybe some cool crossover outfits that we can actually use on characters other than our Avatar?

Maybe for the sequel
If you're curious about my views on the veterans, here you go.
The third-party fighting game characters could very easily also be DLC for the ones who don't get chosen. So if Chun-Li gets in the base roster, Jin/Rock or Mai/a KoF rep/a GG rep/etc. would be considered for DLC. Hell, even a 2nd ARMS rep could be possible if ARMS 2 is EPD 9's next project after Mario Kart World.
Dont forget the goat Zero
I could honestly see him being DLC bait, but the last thing we need is for him to break yet another fighting game meta.
I mean he’s basically the best fighter in most of the games he’s in like marvel vs capcom
I like your list and agree with a fair amount of your choices. What are your thoughts on these characters?:
Amaterasu (Okami)
Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)
Medusa (Kid Icarus)
The Knight and/or Hornet (Hollow Knight)
Kris (Deltarune)
Shantae (Shantae)
Shovel Knight
Cuphead
I feel like a good chunk of the indie characters on the above list would end up as Mii costumes if they’re still doing those.
Fair on all points I do think an indie rep will be added though maybe not base roster. Especially someone from Undertale it just seems likely but fair points all around
Kris is exactly who I was looking for here.
Given how hand-in-hand Toby Fox and Nintendo seem to be, I think a rep from Deltarune's Fun Gang is extremely likely, in the base roster or DLC
I’ve never heard anyone consider Sportsmate as a fighter but I don’t think it’s likely especially if we’re getting Ring Fit Trainee as a guarantee.
Oatchi was part of my fanmade roster before but now I think he’ll fit better as an Assist Trophy or part of Rookie’s moveset.
Unless that’s a placeholder for a Rhythm Heaven rep. I don’t get the appeal for Chorus Kids. Karate Joe is right there.
Nevertheless good placements but it makes me a little sad that you’re buying that B.Dees inclusion reflects how Sakurai views the modern Kirby series which I hope isn’t true.
If we get Oatchi, I think it would be well and good to have Oatchi be paired with them just to get a two in one for the price of one. She is Oatchi’s trainer after all.
Impa in general, no. But designs or characters that specific to or originate from Hyrule Warriors specifically are co-owned by Koei Tecmo, hence them being mentioned in the copyrights for everything relating to those games (including the AoC spirits in Smash). The same thing applies to the Persona 5 Strikers OCs, but not the Fire Emblem Warriors OCs for whatever reason.
Would KT say yes to AoC Impa in Smash, probably. But from Nintendo's perspective, why bother asking when you have Impa variants that you fully control (Ex: SS Impa)?
