TL;DR For accurate pricing of Funko Pops, use hobbyDB, eBay's "sold" listings, and Mercari. Avoid relying solely on the Funko app for valuations.
Online Price Guides
Several online platforms are recommended for tracking Funko Pop prices. HobbyDB is frequently mentioned as a useful resource for collectors seeking price estimates [1:2],
[5:4]. Another popular method is checking recent sold listings on eBay, which provides real-world data on what buyers are actually paying
[2:2],
[3:1],
[4:3].
Funko App Limitations
The Funko app is often criticized for its unreliable pricing estimates. Many users suggest avoiding it for serious valuation purposes [3:1],
[5:1]. The app bases its values on the Pop Price Guide, which itself relies on sales data from platforms like Amazon and eBay
[4:2]. However, discrepancies in these valuations have led to skepticism among collectors
[5:12].
Factors Affecting Value
The value of Funko Pops is influenced by scarcity and desirability. Older, limited print pops and those with specific markings indicating limited production (e.g., "3400 pcs") tend to be more valuable [3:2]. Vaulted pops, which are no longer being produced, also hold higher value. Popular characters can drive demand and increase prices
[3:2].
Additional Resources and Considerations
For mobile tracking, the PopGrinder app is recommended [1:4]. Collectors should be aware that unboxed pops generally have reduced value
[4:1]. While collecting Funko Pops can be enjoyable, it's important to manage expectations regarding their financial investment potential
[5:3].
I’ve recently been collecting a bunch of funko pops and I’m curious if there’s an official price guide for them(a standard book for most collector items that shows you the variants and prices). If there’s something like this out there, can someone please share!
Hobbydb.com
PopGrinder app is good for mobile and tracking collection.
I appreciate the recommendation, but I have some concerns about this site. My biggest issue is the lack of transparency in their price estimation system. There’s no clear breakdown of how they calculate prices or what data they include (or exclude). Without that kind of clarity, it’s hard to trust their valuations, making me skeptical about the site overall.
Thanks
funkypriceguide.com is the tracker I use for my collection and price estimations
So I am thinking of drastically downsizing my collection. How do I know which pricing is most accurate?
Recent sold listings on eBay
Yeah I figured and was hopeful I could find a pricing guide
I have the Hobby DB app, but honestly, it's a buyers market right now. I've learned to go on Ebay or Mercari and use the "sold" button. It's been a cold, hard reality check.
Thanks I'll have to give that a try as well.
check ebay
I was afraid of that LOL. I didn't want to work very hard.
Hello everyone, I'm starting to collect Funkos! I have a couple already (see pics) but just want to know what makes a funko pop valuable? I collect sports cards as well, so I don't really have a clue. Anything would help and let me know if any of my pops are worth anything!
Generally the most valuable are older , limited print pops.
Funko tends to rerelease their more modern exclusives , where some of the old ones are “vaulted” and will not print again I guess you could say. (But Funko has been talking about reprinting some older , valuable pops . Which has made people with these pops angry. It will drive the value down)
Popular characters sell out quick, driving the price up.
Anything with a number directly on the box/sticker like “3400 pcs” or something . The smaller the number the more valuable .
Chases - certain pops have a 1 in 6 chance of being different than the standard pop of that same number and series . If you order 1 pop, that has the chance of a chase directly from funko ( or chalice collectibles , GameStop , or places that get exclusives with the vendor stickers . For an example) , you have a 1 in 6 chance of receiving the variation. If you order 6 from a retailer like Funko, or shop that advertises it you are guaranteed a chase . These are more valuable , and can be purchased at a higher price than the standard variations of the same pop. Some chases are glow, some are flocked , some have completely different sculpts.
“Protos” can be valuable for popular characters . They are prototype printings , usually one or two main colours . Used as a test before beginning printing . I believe they used to make 2 whites , then 2 colours of each mold before beginning the actual prints .
For value, Google hobbydb It’s not always accurate but displays past sales from multiple vendors .
It’s also good to check the sold tab on eBay , of the pop you have/are looking for . To see what has been purchased recently and what people are actually paying .
The Funko app pricing is horrendous .
The same thing that makes anything valuable, (scarcity x desirability). Personally, in a small house, I desire space, and funkos take up a lot of it.
nice collectible item
First off, most of my pops are unboxed which I know reduces value. I don’t plan to sell them, I’m just curious to know which ones are worth a decent amount.
The Funko app bases their worth off the pop price guide, and the pop price guide bases their worth off what they have been selling for at places like Amazon and eBay
I find the most accurate is to look them up on eBay at "sold for" prices.
Funko has their own official app. Pop price guide is a site that also gives you values of your pops
Was given some funkos and I do r normally collect these but someone showed me this app and I wanted to know if this is correct selling wise
There should be a pinned comment saying “Don’t use the Funko app for valuations” message at the top of the sub.
Well I literally just joined this today to ask this question lol I don’t bother with funkos but if it’s not worth anything oh well
I didn’t mean it to sound like a jab at you brother, but we see this several times a month.
Where should we go for valuations?
A mix of HobbyDB and eBay sold listings
Why does the app have to put the ‘value’ on it? That just disappoints people. Funko Pop collections are not a financial investment
Me coming into this collection I didn’t know what to make out of it I just know I’m not really gonna keep these
Reference hobby DB as well as self research ebay last solds.
The simple answer is their estimates pricing is so far off that you can't trust it for anything.
Well I don’t know anything about them I just figured I can come here
That wasn't a blast on you, more how poor their official app is. If you're getting into the hobby for value id suggest you're too late to the game though.
nah the prices on the funko app r not really reliable. u usually gotta check hobbydb, mercari, or ebay to see recently sold prices
My husband is relocating and is selling most of his Funko pops, he’s willing to bundle for a deal. Link to his Mercari in first picture where you can see all the listed pops for sale 🙂
Not sure if I was allowed to post a link in the ad for his mercari page: Here it is: https://www.mercari.com/u/alsojustin/?sv=lg
honestly, your husband may want to lower his expectations when it comes to how much he thinks he is going to earn from these. many people refer to the PPG when determining how much a Pop is "worth," so he's going to have a difficult time selling a $60 Pop for $110, and he's going to have a very difficult time selling a $35 Pop for $180. (yes, these are real examples). i sell on Mercari and the first thing I do when selling is check the price that Pop has sold for recently, as well as what other users have theirs priced at. that gives me a more realistic idea of what I may earn from selling. in the case of the Pop he has listed for $180, the last two sold for $31 and $18 dollars respectfully.
i hope i haven't come off as rude. i just wanted to offer some friendly advice and hopefully he'll be able to sell off what he needs to. he definitely has some cool stuff for sale, and i wish you guys the best of luck!
No not at all! We appreciate the advice, he’s going to have a look through. Thank you!
no worries. if there's anything else i can do to help out, please feel free to DM me! 🙂
I sent you a DM 🙂
I used to collect funko pops but had to let most of them go over the pandemic. I have a few which I kept before quitting the scene. I'm thinking of letting them go but I've been out of the loop that I don't how how to price them.
Well it's just one pop really, a Gabumon from Digimon. Nothing is showing up in my local groups so I don't know how people here in Southeast Asia price it.
That said, any leads would be appreciated. Thanks!
Pop Price Guide will give you a general value, but as always, the best way to get value is recently sold on eBay, and Mercari.
I would like the Gabumon, personally, I love digimon and personally if you don't want it I will gladly buy it for market value (40 USD)
If you want a super accurate pricing, you can probably look up each pop on Pop Price Guide to see an average of how much each is worth, then add it all up
I've researched each price individually before and im sure it'll be alot and a price most wont be that willing to pay so i just wanted a guesstimate that seems like a fair price that someone would actually be willing to pay.
A lot of your funko pops if not all are brand new ones that have come out only in the last few years. Sell them individually no one will buy that whole lot unless you sell it for next to nothing. I keep seeing people selling their funko lots and all their funkos are new and basically worthless. Some of the Spider-Man might sell for maybe a bit more than OG just because of hype but I think most of your collection is just common. Rule of thumb- Disney, marvel, over rated animes, GOT, Harry Potter, and star Wars are meh priced. If somewhere says some obscure side character is worth a lot just know it’s worth something to like the 2% of people who even obsessively collect it. Sell individual “rare” ones you will get those ones out and sell rest in groups of maybe like 3 based on genre for rest if you really can’t be bothered to sell individual. Maybe sell like 3 for the price of 2 or something.
Then divide by at least 2 for a more accurate price of what people may actually pay
And then take some more off because they should cost less when sold as a group rather than sold individually
Do you have any guesses just by eyeballing the pics?
Not much, honestly. I don't see any heavy hitters or grails.
Realistically as a lot I'd say about $150 or so. You'd be better off parting them out and selling individually as lots always go for less.
I hate you lol, saw this and opened it to comment this exact thing
Maybe for the bundle $125
Thanks for the laugh 😂 that was a good one
I have that glitter ronald, in australia it has a mcdonalds 50 years sticker and you could only buy one from mcdonalds
I've just recently gotten a collection of pops started, and I was curious if there was a good price guide that people find to be generally accurate?

I looked at poppriceguide.com and stashpedia.com (as well as price checking on eBay and amazon) and wasn't sure how accurate those are or if there is another one more accepted by the pop community.
Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thanks for the accidental gold! Even though I didn't earn it, it made me happy.
Enjoy the accidental gold brotha! I wish you the best of luck!
Lol :) my first gold ever was given by accident. Classic. I’m not sure if I should thank you or apologize? Either way have a great day!
Lol I was puzzled myself
I was wondering where that was from lol
PPG is better than Stash at the moment, however a few months ago it was the other way around.
Checking Ebay > PPG > Stash > checking Amazon.
I’m asking for help on where should I base the prices/values of my pop. Some buyers are sarcastically asking me about where am getting my prices. I just look it up on amazon, ebay, ppg for prices and somehow put the price in between 3 different prices. I always take time to search about the value of my pops and their market prices so that it won’t be overpriced. But these stupid mfs who wants to buy a grail at a very low price are getting into my nerves
For example. Someone wants 70s vision but it is shared sticker (SE) not the(gamestop?) exclusive one. I priced it at 45-50$ but they’re arguing that it should be lower to atleast 25-30$ since it is just a shared not exclusive one.
Same with wong LE And iron man gauntlent fall convention
Okay so where are you selling it? See here’s the big issue- I personally use EBay bids. Meaning the final selling price of a POP- the completed listings. I do not value pops because some people list them at $100 and they sit there for years and years. I also use the Funko app to get some pricing as well. The app is pretty neat as it also used completed listings data.
I’m actually in the philippines. And all we do is sell in fb marketplace, groups about funko. So ebay and amazon isn’t really applicable to me
Can also recommend funkypriceguide.com :) Prices are based on completed ebay listings and filtered by statistics, black lists (for regions..e.g. no china fakes) and so on.
I may be out of turn, but to simply sounds like some of the people just want to get their hands on expensive pops but don’t want to pay for them.
That’s what I’m actually thinking about. I’m really trying to be considerate with prices. Because I don’t want to give them overpriced pops just because it has a high value. But the effort of looking anywhere or the “hunt” that I did will never be the same to them and yet they give me lowball prices
According to eBay recent sales, you’re right on the money for Vision.
Wong should be maybe around $30 with shipping, and Iron Man should be around $30 to $40.
If you’re doing around those prices, just ignore the people whining
I actually prices wong less that 30$ and yet they still whined 🤪 the iron man says fall convention sticker, not even “special edition” and they whine about the 40$ price of it
I use Pop Price Guide personally and it is definitely more accurate than the Funko app at least. Because yes, unfortunately different stickers command different prices, and the Funko app doesn't take the difference of the stickers into account for ALOT of different Pops. Sometimes it does, but alot of times it doesn't. And then yes, you get people asking actual convention prices for the non-convention sticker that they picked up at Hot Topic or Gamestop. And they claim, " um, I'm pretty sure the OFFICIAL Funko app would know, it's developed by Funko..." And then the shiny chrome "special edition" sticker usually is the lowest price of them all, purely based on the fact that "inbox collectors" do not prefer them
Price guide for Funko Pops
Key Considerations for Funko Pop Pricing:
Rarity: Limited editions, exclusives (like those from conventions or specific retailers), and vaulted Pops tend to have higher values. The rarer the Pop, the more likely it is to appreciate in value.
Condition: The condition of the box and the figure itself significantly affects the price. Mint condition items fetch higher prices, while damaged boxes or figures will lower the value.
Popularity: Characters from popular franchises (like Marvel, Star Wars, or Disney) often have higher demand, which can drive up prices.
Market Trends: Prices can fluctuate based on trends, new releases, and collector interest. Keeping an eye on market trends can help you make informed buying or selling decisions.
Online Resources: Websites like Pop Price Guide, eBay, and Mercari can provide current market values and trends for specific Pops.
Takeaways:
Recommendation: If you're looking to start or expand your collection, consider focusing on limited editions and exclusive releases, as they tend to hold or increase their value over time. Always check recent sales on platforms like eBay to gauge current market prices before buying or selling.
