Scanner Room Utilization
A scanner room is an essential tool for locating resources in Subnautica. Building a scanner room in different biomes can help you identify where various resources are located throughout the world [1:1]. Additionally, using a HUD chip with the scanner room can streamline the process of finding specific resources
[1:8].
Resource-Specific Locations
Certain resources are found predominantly in specific biomes:
Exploration and Story Progression
Exploration plays a crucial role in resource gathering. As you progress through the story, following PDAs and radio messages will naturally lead you to areas rich in new resources [3:1]. For example, visiting the Degasi base in Jellyshroom will yield magnetite, while Lifepod 19 leads to shale, gel sacks, rubies, and eyestalk
[3:1].
Resource Gathering Tips
For efficient resource gathering:
Late Game Resources
In the late game, certain resources become critical:
These strategies and tips should help players efficiently locate and gather resources needed for progression in Subnautica.
Pls help :)
It totally depends on the sort of resource you are after. They are spread out all over. Usually specific resorces are found in certain places while others are found throughout.
What about magnetite
Jellyshroom Caves is your best bet.
Lithium spawns in Mushroom forest.
Rubies spawn in Bulb Zone, next to the hot water vent thingies. Watch out for bonesharks.
rubies spawn everywhere and what abt magnetite?
If you want to find everything yourself, without looking anything up, you'll want to find the fragments to build basic base pieces and a scanner room.
The scanner room checks for a resource you select within a range.
Build a scanner room in multiple biomes, and you'll start to see where all of the resources are throughout the world.
Besides that -- scan things and check your PDA. It'll tell you more about any resources it can make since some things require "samples."
Thx :) I'll try the scanner room trick. Cuz i got one in my main base but I never thought of putting one in different biomes lol. And also wdym by samples.
Creepvine sample. Table coral. Etc. You usually get these with your knife. Many samples aren't detected by the scanner room so you'll need to observe the world and scan things.
These become important later on with advanced materials and such.
Build a scanner room and a HUD chip, let it do your job
a hud chip needs magentite :)
Go. Deeper.
Leviathans lol i nearly died to a blue giant one
I did over 20 guides to help people to get started with the subnautica game. I spent over 1 month to get them all done. Hope it will help you as well to get started

Game specific issues:
A ton of the fragments are randomized per save file creation (eg; when you first make a game it generates locations at random) This tends to effect more important/big ticket items such as Bioreactor, Thermal, Moonpool, ScannerRoom, Nuclear and to an extent the Seamoth (but the Aurora room makes that a joke) .. so a few of these videos pointing out specific locations may not be accurate.
I'm concerned about any of your videos talking about using the scanner room. The only time you should be using a camera is if you think the area is too dangerous to go yourself.. OR the VERY FIRST scanner room you build; so as to find magnetite in order to build the hud chip and range upgrades. -- Using cameras early on almost never works, and leads to frustration because the shark-type mobs in safe shallows like to play with and MOVE metal (which cameras are made out of).
Video Making issues:
Your videos are LONG. 13 minutes for an 'early diamond location' is insane... and I skimmed a few links and most seem to also be exorbitantly long. Spending almost a full minute talking about OTHER video topics you have made and to 'please like, follow and subscribe to be notified of other videos' is really not acceptable. If you truly feel the need to remind people of this; use small graphics/gifs that point to or display a mouse clicking 'subscribe' instead of taking up valuable guide/video time.
Whenever I'm asking a specific question about a game via google and get video guide results, I'm going to click the shortest one. I have ZERO interest in anyones' other videos on other topics (which may be spoilers to me about the game, or entirely different games) and as such am not looking to subscribe to them at all. I want the information I asked for.. and if the video gives it in a direct, timely manner, I will for sure toss it a like to help the video show up better via the youtube results algorithm because it answered my question and didn't waste my time.
Sorry for the long winded ness.. and everyone is not the same as me of course. If this video style is actually working for you, then by all means continue doing it.... But if its not, maybe the above is why.
My videos are long coz I show different locations where find specific fragments. Some of them arent randomized like the blueprints inside the tech boxes "like the one for the alien containment". For the early diamond location it take the first 3 minuts to learn where the location is. The problem that they are caves and they are really intricate so I show the pathway to explore them completly and get out all resources from it.
For the video lenght you are right they must be short but for subnautica is slighly hard making short videos without missing important info. For example in one wreck location you may find a specific blueprint but some times it didn't spawn at all in the specific wreck. Therefore I show all wrecks where a specific blueprint spawns. For each blueprint there are usually at least 4/6 wrecks where you can find it therefore the videos lenght end to be slightly long.
PS: Thanks for the criticism.
you’re a saint
I just love making those videos :D
How do you know where you have to find certain resources without spoilers?
Explore, get a beacon w u anytime and mark the zones or just memorize. Its not that hard actually Scrap = any biome and close to wrecks Gold and silver =Rounded rock and rock wirh spikes Etcetc
Combination of scanner room and just exploring. The beauty of Subnautica is that you never know what you'll find when you explore.
There are several types of biomes, but scan for resources. You don’t need to remember, but follow where the story leads you.
Exploration. Experience. And sometimes scanner rooms.
In most cases you don't necessarily have to go looking for specific resources. As you follow the PDAs and radio messages and other story progression hooks, the game will typically lead you to most of the places that have the new resources you need.
Example: A PDA you find on the >!floating island!< leads you to >!the Degasi base in Jellyshroom!< where you find magnetite. The beacon for >!lifepod 19 !!Sunbeam plotline!< leads you to the >!mountain island !<where you find shale and lithium and such.
Dude. Those are spoilers!
I mean, not like, plotwise. But I added some tags. Better?
Explore and memorise
I am putting together a simple table with the best location for a quick resource grab when needed. This is a work in progress. Updates are welcome.
Tried to determine the single best location based on these criteria:
Basic resources
Late game locations
Wouldn't >! sea treader's path!< be best for gold, lithium and diamonds?
Yes and no. It’s good for small amounts. When you need quantity such as a full inventory it’s not good because you are going to farm 3x more and throwing away 2/3 of what you collect. That’s why I want to stick with large deposits instead of outcrops.
Underwater Islands has tons of large gold deposits all around it
Thanks, updated
i’ve been struggling to find any lists or maps with just all the resources on them, so i went ahead and made one for rainbow fields (cuz i’m always running out of jellystone). to the best of my knowledge, this is every spawn location, but i haven’t figured out the cadence of resources refreshing, so there may be a few that i’ve missed.
I remember using flags everytime I saw a resource output, and I vaguely remember there being much more than there is on the map. Im not sure though, it's been months since I've opened the game 😅. Might have a look later
i was doing that at first, but i got a little frustrated by not being able to zoom the map in any further + bea’s token on the map being weirdly huge
I agree with Bea's token being huge xd also thanks for replying, I completely forgot to take a screenshot of my map.

I don't post them every day I do so 1 a week there are still more people that enjoy them than people that just wait to say what you said to a person that put hard work for the community.
Damn! If you don't get an award for this I'm gonna stop spreading Enzyme 42.
someone already give the award to this post :D
Oh, ok. I guess I'll get back to work then
damn, I could've used these modification station fragment locations a few hours ago.
never too late for the other videos bro :D
I can't find any good places to get Rubies that won't crush my stock Seamoth like a piece of wet paper, does anyone know a good place to find them?
Head to Lifepod 19. Along the black walls in that entire area you'll find a TON of ruby. It goes down to 300 meters.
Are the rubies below 300 meters, because 200 is my current limit
Also, as mentioned in other comments, constructing a depth module for your seamoth will be quite beneficial for now and for later
You can leave the seamoth above 200 and just swim down. 300 is the bottom so they'll all be above 300. 200-300 meters.
Only place I can think of is the place where officer keen's lifepod is
Yea, that's lifepod 19.
Sparse reef, it is right under the big floating island
First of all make a Seamoth depth module if you haven’t yet, then make a depth module MK2. For that you need magnetite which is found in abundance in the Jellyshroom caves (big glowing mushrooms), then if you want rubies, the first place off the top of my head would be the grand reef (go in the direction of the big cloud to the right of the Aurora)
How I would love to have on
Love you bro

Wow, I have already finished the game, but this app a going to help out new players so much! I don’t know what I would have done without guides!
Well Subnautica is a great game and you can enjoy it a lot without guides. On the other hand is really time consuming if you try to find all the locations by your self. So the guides are good for who work a lot and don't have so much free time to invest in the game but still want to finish it.
nice
:D
I mostly finished the game but this will help a lot especially my friend who is getting the game
Thank you
