I prefer unisex scents, my three favourites (and only full bottles I own):
Soleil Blanc by tom ford and bond 9 tribeca
Diptyque Orpheon
Current favorite is Nishane Wulong Cha (but Orpheon is really high on the list)
Most of mine are unisex. For summer Profumum Roma Ichnusa is high up. Yesterday I got Creed Delphinus. Such a beautiful almond amber. But also Xerjoff Starlight is up there. And BDK Creme de Cuir and Gris Charnel
Some more loves:
It’s hard finding a deodorant or perfume that isn’t dubbed as strictly male or female. I’d love something ambiguous :’)
Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Edit- so many people commented omg thank you so much!! Have a lovely day everyone :)
I would check out r/fragrance and look up niche brands! Most are unisex. My favorite brands are boy smells, etat libre d’orange, diptyque, byredo, le labo, and imaginary authors!
Oh also, one of my absolute fav fragrances is Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules which feels so non-binary to me and I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear!
This. Comme des Garçons and D.S. & Durga are all unisex too.
Thank you so much! :D
My partner used Salt and Stone fragrances, if she wasn't already using them and I didn't want to smell just like her I'd use them too. Super ambiguous, not overly scented, not too flowery or anything like that but also not that super-masc "tobacco and whiskey" nonsense.
Tobacco and whiskey make me laugh XD thank you for the suggestion!
Replica and Jo Malone are both fantastic. Replica is super neutral and unique. While Jo Malone may label/market certain scents for a certain market, they have a lot of options that are pretty neutral.
I would recommend Lattafa. Not only are they (most of them I think) unisex, but they are also some of the best value for money clones:)
Thank you so much :D
It's expensive as all get out, but Tom Ford's fragrances are unisex and smell really good.
unisex fragrances really are amazing, i prefer them over most male/female directed fragrances. what do you see as really good ones?
Marmite but the obvious one is BR540.
I’d also probably say LV afternoon swim for summer - though it doesn’t last long at all.
For other times of the year - by the fireplace.
My personal favourites that fit in that category:
Guerlain: Spiritueuse Double Vanille, Neroli Outrenoir
Creed: Silver Mountain Water, Virgin Island Water, Jardin d'Amalfi
Tom Ford: Neroli Portofino
All of these are equally wearable by men and women, although Guerlain SDV and Creed JdA while awesome on a man would be absolutely amazing on a lady :)
Silver Mountain Water smells amazing on anyone
It looks like you're looking for a fragrance recommendation - please post your request in the "Recommend Me a Fragrance" stickied thread that occurs every 3 days. When the feed is sorted by 'HOT' it'll be the first or second post. Posts removed include listicles (e.g. top 5, top 3, best of X category), ranked choice polls, fragrance matches, comparisons, decision help, layering combos, help identifying a fragrance, etc.
If you're asking if a perfume is worth it, worth a blind buy, worth the hype, etc., no third party/internet stranger can determine that; only you can decide. Until we get the digital smell feature, the best way to know is to sample them and compare them, as well as comparing them to other perfumes. r/fragrance also recommends reading/watching reviews.

I'd say about 90% of all fragrances are "unisex"... There are very few fragrances that are clearly masculine or clearly feminin in the classic definition of the word (don't start a fight pls lol) Soooo... What are the best fragrances out of about 90% of fragrances ever created? Uhm... Hmm... Uhhhh... When in doubt... Shalimar?
i agree with you on that one, but the ones Market unisex always smell amazing to me
new to collecting fragrances....wanted to build a small collection of maybe 3-5 scents and wanted to get some things that my wife and I can both use rather than buying 6 or 8 different fragrances. Thanks for any suggestions.
Try Serge Lutens Chergui and File de Joie
haven't heard of these....I will do some research, thanks
CK One. Some people hate it, I still love it.
I remember this one....smelled good to me
I just tried House of Bo Casa Blanca, and it is so good! It's a beautiful blend of mostly tea, fig, tobacco, copal, and bourbon vanilla. Don't be afraid of the tobacco, suede, and white oud as they are very softly blended in. I sprayed the top of my hand at noon, and I can still smell it at midnight!
thanks....I am curious about tobacco scents
Hi all! I'm interested in hearing about what feminine and unisex fragrances y'all are excited to wear this fall! For me, I'm holding on to warmer seasons with Narsisco Rodriguez for her edt :)
SJP Stash, Ciara, Egoiste (was released as a unisex fragrance), BeBe Gold, Bijan Original EDP, Nest Cocoa Woods, and Donna Karan Black Cashmere.
I'm wearing Egoiste today and would agree this could easily be unisex. Either way, it smells amazing.
Where do you even find SJP Stash? I only found a giftset on Amazon for 220 CAD. I want it, but not that bad!
sjpbeauty.com is the official site for SJP fragrances and they have it at the original price, but it says low stock right now. I guess it is being discontinued. I had bought my original bottle at Ulta when they sold it, then picked up a couple gift sets on clearance at Marshalls after the holidays last year for my husband and I. I only ever saw it in those two retail stores.
Amouage Sunshine Woman and Roja Dove Brittania from what I have.
Lost Cherry by Tom Ford
Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior
Ylang 49 by Le Labo
34 Boulevard Saint Germain by Diptyque
Coco Mademoiselle Intense by Chanel
Coco edp by Chanel
Poison Girl edt by Christian Dior
Sì edp by Giorgio Armani
Chloé Eau de Parfum by Chloé
I have a very soft spot for Chloé. I think it's incredibly sophisticated in a very casual way.
Grand Soir and Nishane Ani
I have been curious about sampling Nishane, how do you like the Vanilla note in Ani?? I need an unusual vanilla, looking for your impressions.
its a beautiful creamy green vanilla. Not boring at all. It also has a soft benzoin note, (a tad bit similar to the benzoin in Grand soir, but a lot softer and more wearable). Its definitely worth sampling.
I'm going to wear the hell out of Grand Soir as soon as it stops being 95 degrees.
Oof good luck friend!!
I'm new to fragrances and really like fragrances that are not heavy
so far, my favourites have been:
Popular, but not my type:
From trying so many different fragrances at sephora, I realized how difficult it is to find something that I like a lot. So I'd like to know some favourites from the other people who have a similar taste as me.
CK1.
almost anything by burberry
I've found a lot of the Zegna Essence line to be pretty subtle and enjoyable.
Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee and Un Jardin sur le Nil (the others in the Jardin line would fit, but I think these two are the nicest)
Any of the Comme de Garcons incense line, though Avignon is the standout one here
Most of the offerings from Tauer, CB I hate perfume, and Tokyomilk
How's the longetivity for Un Jardin fragrances?
Lasts all day for me, but I also don't usually have issues with longevity
Oud wood is not heavy?
For some reason oud wood didn't feel heavy to me, but I guess it's because I tested so many heavier ones first lol... sorry for the confusion
Gendarme
The one in your mind that really straddles masculinity and femininity perfectly?
Toy Boy. I love my bdsm teddy bear juice so much- such an interesting, gorgeous scent, especially for the price. I consider it not only unisex but actively androgynous- it doesn’t ’work’ for me on either a very classically masculine man or classically feminine woman. But I think it would be very interesting and beautiful to smell on a butch woman wearing leather or trousers or on a man with elfin cheekbones and long elegant fingers wearing an almost-transparent silk blouse
Ok, I can't resist it any longer. I'm ordering this tonight.
lol i am tempted
CK One
Haha, came here to type this. Quintessential 90s
we already have an answer
Wood sage and sea salt
This and Van Cleef and Arpels Santal Blanc would be my picks.
Santal Blanc is more feminine to me
Philosykos
Molecule 01
This, I can’t picture anything more unisex than Iso E Super, it literally molds to your skin’s chemistry
I've been exploring unisex fragrances lately and I'm curious are there any specific scents that when worn makes me stands out from the crowd but in a good way. Whether it’s something fresh, woody, spicy, or completely unexpected, I’d love to hear what unisex fragrances you find most appealing on man.
Here’s a hot take: fragrances don’t have gender. Wear what you like regardless of the marketing
They don't have gender but they are for opposite gender. Females don't want to smell like leather and males don't want to smell like Paris hilton.
Yeah. I don’t think that’s it. Like most other things gender-related, there’s a lot of societal influence at play. There are plenty of “men’s fragrances” that are too floral for me. That doesn’t mean they’re feminine. It just means I don’t like them.
Likewise there’s plenty of “women’s fragrances” that would have men buying them in droves if they were marketed/labeled differently.
This whole thought process sure has changed from back when I was in my late teens early 20's. Back then, CK One was the only unisex, and I hated it.
Fast forward to the last 3 years when clones started dominating the market and made me realize there are much better fragrances than the typical "designer brands" I grew up with and now there are clones making them affordable. Yep, you heard me correctly, I can now afford to buy a replica of a fragrance I didn't even know existed a few years ago, but know they're hundreds of dollhairs, not the $40-60 price tag I was used to for what I thought was high end fragrances.
When I bought my first batch of clones it came from an ad on FB and from the company Alt Fragrances. Settled on a 5 scent starter pack, and picked 3 I knew I wanted and let them pick the other 2 for me based on popularity. One of those 5 I wore a lot, and still do all while not knowing the whole time it was a unisex. That clone fragrance was, and still is my go to, BR54O. Alt calls it Crystal but I have and still own 2 other clones of BR54O. someday maybe I'll get the real thing.
But yes, wear what you like is the moral of the story. I also found being a straight male that scents that are more feminine get more compliments from women than masculine scents do.
oud satin mood
MYSLF le parfum
GOAT Acqua Di Gio
I kind of like Black Orchid.
I like Nest Seville Orange, Clean Reserve Acqua Neroli, Replica Under the Lemon Trees, and Abbott's Montecito.
All the ones I was gonna name :)
Great minds think alike!
I love CK One
CK One Summer 2020. Citrus at the beach
Altelier california clementine
I second this one! Best summer scent
My hg🥰🥰
Phlur Tangerine Boy
D&G Light Blue and its variations
Gypsy water
Wood sage and sea salt
Imagination
Pacific chill
Bal d'afrique
Gris charnel extrait
Althair
The noir
Althair is my favorite by PdM. It was my first "men's" fragrance, so I was wary, but I immediately fell in love.
I also agree with Gypsy Water and Wood Sage & Sea Salt, though both last only an hour on me (if I'm lucky).
Bal d'afrique definitely leans feminine IMO
I don't really think so if I compare it side by side to my other feminine fragrances to me it's very unisex.
Yes all of my faves. Adding Arquiste indigo smoke
Came here to say both wood sage salt and bal d’afrique!!
This is a solid list! I agree w all of these that I am familiar with
Diptyque Orpheon
CK One. Oldie but a goodie.
ck one was the first time i’d read unisex on a bottle so i always associate it as thee unisex😹
CK One
ck One. Back when my Mum insistently wore it to my chagrin, all I could think of was genderless mallwalking zombies.
