TL;DR
Optimal Mining Depths
One of the most effective ways to find diamonds is by mining at the right depth. Traditionally, Y-levels 10 and 11 have been popular for diamond mining due to their balance of diamond availability and lava safety [4:4]. However, with updates, some players suggest going as low as Y-level 6 to account for changes in diamond spawn rates in newer versions
[4:5].
Mining Techniques
Strip mining and branch mining are two common techniques used to efficiently find diamonds. Strip mining involves clearing out large areas at the optimal depth, while branch mining involves creating a main tunnel with smaller branches extending from it. These methods help maximize the number of blocks you expose, increasing your chances of finding diamonds [4:6].
Biome-Specific Strategies
Some players have found success using biome-specific strategies. For example, a method involving digging under clay patches in swamps has been reported to yield diamonds frequently in version 1.17 [4:1]
[4:3]. This technique involves identifying clay patches and mining directly below them, which can be particularly effective if you're okay with a less traditional approach.
Tools and Enchantments
Using the right tools can significantly enhance your diamond-finding efforts. A Fortune III enchanted pickaxe increases the number of diamonds dropped from ore blocks, making each find more rewarding [4:4]. Additionally, having an efficient pickaxe can speed up the mining process, allowing you to cover more ground in less time.
Avoiding Misleading Information
Be cautious of myths and outdated information regarding diamond mining. Some claims, such as increased diamond frequency in certain biomes like deserts or badlands, have been debunked by players [4:9]
[4:10]. Always verify strategies with current game mechanics to ensure effectiveness.
I need help finding diamonds in minecraft, I did some thing to see how many diamonds a player could pass without knowing and what I am thinking is to just mine a chunk yourself and then just keep doing it until you find diamonds but that would be TIME TAKING, anyways to find diamonds? Redstone tactics would also be appreciated!

Definitely pickaxepro.net
I can find everything else but diamonds I even rayed that x-slayer!!!! for a while just to see how many diamonds any player could be passing and not even know, a tactic I am thinking about is just mining square chunks until you find some. Anyone have any other ideas?

I just use pickaxepro.net honestly 😭

I just use pickaxepro.net tbh
No, that is probably a virus link lol, I found out that I can just use fullbright UB lol
Over the past few days I have gotten back in to minecraft and the only thing I have really done is mined but I have only found 4 diamonds so far, is there a method to it or am I just really bad at the game
Go on YouTube and watch the video: how to find diamonds mathematicaly.
This technique works for 1.16.5 Go into the centre of a clay patch and go two Blocks to the positive Z direction. Then, mine down, and you will get Diamonds 85% of the time! If the clay patch is in a swamp biome, you need to do six Blocks.
There's a similar one with lapis now, it's like 4 blocks north then go down or something, but I've only heard of it I can't check cause I only have bedrock.
I mine at y10 or y11 and do three blocks high strip mines. I carry a fortune 3 enchanted diamond pickaxe too, so when I come across diamonds I get more than just what you see (often 2-3 per block). Rumour is that if you mine in the mesa badlands or the desert the frequency of Diamonds is higher, but I can’t confirm that.
Do what he said , but if in 1.17 got to y6 since diamond spawn rates have changed.
I thought they fixed the issue?
Thats 100% not true.
What isn’t true? The thing about deserts and badlands?
I usually just strip mine and each time I get like 8-9 diamonds
If you’re okay with kinda ruining the fun of finding diamonds:
Go to a Swamp. Dig straight down under the center block of each clay patch.
In 1.17 this has worked about 98% of the time for me.
Thanks i quite needed this too; i hate diamond mining for the simple fact that i search for hours and get nothing. I think last time i went on a mining mission, i mined for 6 hours straight and got like 4/5 diamonds.

Title
Early diamonds are best found by hunting down treasure maps in sunken boats, the chests the maps lead you to usually have a few diamonds in them
Use those diamonds to get a fortune 2 or 3 pick and go strip mining at Y 11
I've had the most luck strip mining in y10
You could just go caving anywhere Y 15 and lower
Google branch mines
Diamonds are found around level 5 to 12 mostly but up to level 16 in some cases. I dig tunnels, two blocks apart two blocks high and go for it. Just watch out for lava.
I have been having trouble finding diamonds in my world and wanted to know some of your methods to finding them, anything would help!
1x3 at y11 MINE ALL THE DIRT YOU SEE WHILE MINING
Do diamonds spawn near dirt?
it’s a tip from Philza a twitch streamer who streams hardcore. I don’t know why but I almost half the time find diamonds behind dirt
Usually if I need a few I'll swim around in underwater ravines, making sure to note that they're at diamond-level of course.
That is a good idea! I have actually never thought to look at underwater ravines.
Try switching up your methods. Try caving if you have been strip mining or try strip mining if you have been caving. Stay motivated and I bet you will find some eventually. Good luck!
Thanks!
Y-11 strip mining is how 90% of players get Diamonds
1x1 mining tunnel using trapdoor is apaprently more efficient. You don't need to light 1x1 branches either as no mob can spawn in crawl space.
Hi guys just got back on Minecraft and been struggling to find diamonds, haven’t played MC for a few years so I know a few things have changed. Any suggestions thank you.
Caving, water caving with a magma block or water breathing potion, strip mining at y -56, end cities, nether fortresses, bastions, and buried treasures
I go -56 put on some 60s music and get mining!
Oh yeah don't harvest any ore without fortune 3 you'll be a sad panda
Cheers mate just got my fortune 3 yesterday so gonna relax and do stop strip mining
Go down and mine
Find a deepslate cave and just walk around, you'll get plenty of diamonds below y lvl 0. The deeper the better tho. If you have access to brewing night vision helps a lot.
Strip mining has been extremely ineffective since 1.17 when they added the new caves, so I would not recommend doing that. It's also incredibly boring
Mine out level around 15-11 for best results and make sure to use your fortune enchanted pickaxe for best results
Go to Y-11 for safe mining and being exposed to 3 diamond layers.
You can go to Y-10 to be exposed to 4 diamond layers but then lava is at feet level and that’s dangerous.
Going any lower than Y-10 is a waste. You don’t get any more (as in extra) layers and starting Y-5 bedrock starts appearing so you won’t even be able to mine perfectly.
Strip mine and make your tunnels with 11 block gaps. And while your in your tunnel make little “poke holes” with 2 block gaps on between just in case there’s some diamonds you might miss.
Hope this helps :)
go to y =11-12 and start strip mining a 1 wide x 2 tall strip and dig
10 blocks or so. then make another 2 blocks to the left or right of it
I usually strip mine around Y 11 until I find cave or something. I’ll either find diamonds in the cave or the strip mine. There may be some other methods but this works for me.
What is the best way to find diamonds in minecraft
Key Considerations for Finding Diamonds in Minecraft:
Optimal Depth: Diamonds are most commonly found between Y-levels 5 and 12. The best level to mine for diamonds is typically around Y=11, as this level minimizes the risk of lava lakes while still allowing you to find diamonds.
Mining Techniques:
Tools: Use an iron pickaxe or better (diamond or netherite) to mine diamond ore. If you have an enchanted pickaxe with Fortune, it can increase the number of diamonds dropped.
Fortune Enchantment: If you can, enchant your pickaxe with Fortune III to maximize the yield from each diamond ore block.
Avoiding Lava: Always carry a water bucket to deal with lava, which is commonly found at lower levels. Placing water can help you navigate around lava pools safely.
Use of TNT or Beds: If you're feeling adventurous, using TNT or beds (which explode when you try to sleep in them in the Nether) can clear out large areas quickly, but be cautious of the risks involved.
Recommendation: Start by digging down to Y=11 and use the branch mining technique. Make sure to bring plenty of torches to light your way and keep an eye out for lava. Happy mining!
