General Trends in Sell-Out Times
Coachella's sell-out times can vary significantly from year to year. For instance, in 2022, both weekends sold out within six hours, while in 2026, they sold out in just three hours [1]. However, there have been years like 2023, 2024, and 2025 when the festival did not sell out immediately
[1]. This variability suggests that factors such as lineup announcements, economic conditions, and payment plans can influence how quickly tickets sell out.
Influence of Payment Plans
One factor contributing to faster sell-outs is the availability of payment plans, which make it easier for attendees to purchase tickets without paying the full amount upfront [1:4]. This option likely increases accessibility and demand, leading to quicker sell-outs, particularly when popular artists are announced or anticipated
[1:5].
Lineup Announcements and Timing
The timing of lineup announcements has also shifted over the years. In recent years, Coachella has moved towards announcing lineups earlier, possibly to align with market trends and accommodate payment plans [4:3]. For example, the lineup for 2026 was released as early as September 15, 2025, while previous years saw announcements in January
[4]. This strategic timing may contribute to heightened anticipation and quicker ticket sales.
Considerations for First-Time Attendees
For first-time attendees, it's important to plan ahead and consider purchasing shuttle passes or hotel packages to enhance the festival experience [5:2]. Camping is recommended for those seeking an immersive concert experience, while hotels offer more comfort
[5:2]. Additionally, staying at or near shuttle stops can be convenient, as relying on rideshares like Uber may involve long walks due to traffic congestion
[5:3].
Fastest sold out for both weekends of Coachella this decade:
2026 — 3 hours 2025 — Not sold out 2024 — Not sold out 2023 — Not sold out 2022 — 6 hours
This is Crazyyyyy
The lineup is sooooo good ! Its pop fest mixed with just like heaven and no values and edm shiiii
Yes justin
Book him for 2027
Literally because people can do payment plan so easy this year
Women driving the economy once again!!!! Justin Bieber here we come!!!
Still calling limp bizkit as the blink-182 late add spot the week of Coachella wk 1
Hello Blooms,
We will try to get passes tomorrow so I was wondering who else is seriously considering going to Coachella next year? Huhu hopefully see you there 😭
I don't mean to be killjoy but last year I've seen so many yt videos about how miserable it actually is to attend coachella please do your research guys para di kayo maabala ng sobra
This year pala yun next year pa pala mag peperform ang bini sa coachella
I told my supervisor about them performing at Coachella and jokes about using my PTO to fly out.
He replied with, “Cali prices in this economy in the year 2025?”
I make good money and I still shuddered at that thought. And I live in the US 🤪
Got mine booked for weekend 1!
Yayyyy see you 🥹
Hello! Potential first timer to Coachella here (if I am able to buy a ticket!) Does it sell out ba? Looking to get for weekend 2. And, for those who have been there before, where do you suggest to get accommodations? Thanks!
Got our passes today!!!! 😭😭😭 first timer here also so got the hotel package. I hope you get passes too huhuhu
Me for big bang katseye and bini

wait you think jordan peele is not sufficiently liberal for you?
so you just imagine
lol, lmao even
I love Get Out and I do think it’s gotten better with time. But I have to say I’m a lot less concerned about performative liberalism than I am about actual fascism right now. It feels like the villains of Get Out are just running the country now mask off and half the voting bloc is cool with it. Maybe that speaks to your point though.
holy shit no way lmao
But weirdly performative liberalism and the rise of fascism goes hand to hand
performative liberalism creates governments that stagnate and cease to function for the people. governments that cease to function for the people give rise to fascism, seen as “they only way to get things done”. seems like we’re about halfway between them right now
You do remember the villains of Get Out are cartoonishly liberal elderly Democrats who won't shut up about how they'd vote for Obama for the third time if only they could?
I’d argue a big part of the reason why fascism is thriving is because large parts of the left care more about policing their own side than fighting fascism on the other side
While I think Peele's observations about polite, masked racism from disingenuous liberals remains as accurate as ever, I would argue they are far less potent or relevant in our current national climate in which good ol' fashioned gutter racism and rank bigotry are loud and proud, and trending markedly worse daily.
I dont think so. That problem led to current day problem in america and rest of the world.
Yeah same here. I think 2017 me just thought great debut, smart horror, but now it feels like Peele was five steps ahead. The cultural conversations about race since then really make the subtext feel less like subtext.
2026: September 15, 2025
2025: November 20, 2024
2024: January 16, 2024
2023: January 10, 2023
2022: January 12, 2022
I gotta know what this years release did to the lineup release data predictions
They’re moving with the market. Majority of goers are now buying with a pay plan so announcing earlier makes sense.
They catering to the wrong crowd gen z don't got money like millennial money
earliest probably ever.
Doing some quick math, I figure by 2027 or so, we will be given the next year's lineup as we leave the festival...
Hello everyone so Coachella 2026 is possibly mine and my fiancé’s first one because we waited years to see BIG BANG and it’s their only US stop! We go to plenty of festivals, but since this will be our first Coachella, I was wondering what is worth it to purchase as in shuttle passes or hotel packages? Or anyone please share their advice, suggestions and experiences :)
Camping for the best concert experience. Hotel if you want to make it a nicer more comfortable experience. Shuttles are a must
I'd recommend either staying at or near La Quinta resort for that shuttle OR at a hotel along the shuttle stop
Ubers end up being a very long walk and cluster

A few days ago, there was the HDD article saying how the lineup was coming soon. But also, Coachella has now closed presale for tickets. Usually, this happens pretty close to one to line up, actually releases, so we could be seeing a September or October lineup drop, which is even earlier than last year.
Let Lineup Mania commence...
NOOO I WAS GONNA START MY PRESALE TODAY
As was I!
Lineup coming once payment plans are almost complete
My payment plan ends in Oct. Lets say line up after thanksgiving again.
For me is December but finishing it on in 2 weeks- I am doing a bit more overtime lately so my paycheck are bigger. That allowed me to pay it off quicker.
That works
Shit I needed to get mine. Hopefully they don’t book BTS or it’s gonna be a bloodbath
Taylor Swift, BTS, Metallica
Edit: /s obviously, but imagine!
RTTDFTG: Michael Jackson
Hell yeah brother.
Rock with you in the desert would heal me
I see what you did there
“Expect an early announcement for Coachella this year—is the negotiation for the festival’s YouTube deal close to being done?”
Also mentioned 2026 tours for the following..
“HERE WE ARE: And while we’re on the subject, we note that major conversations are underway among agents, promoters and managers for 2026 tours by, among others, Travis Scott, Drake, Bruno Mars, Zach Bryan, Justin Bieber, BTS, Doja Cat, Nine Inch Nails, My Chemical Romance, Ariana Grande, Bon Jovi, System of a Down, Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Oasis. Signs point to another booming year.”
Wouldn’t surprised if Coachella is swinging for: Bruno, BTS, Oasis and a pop girl - Olivia or Sabrina.
Is bts not too big for Coachella ?
No; BTS is huge, but Coachella still holds a lot of cachet for these international acts. Headlining a big festival like this is a big honor.
I know most of the crowd in this subreddit would HATE bts to be a headliner but blackpink literally headlined in 2023.
It might be a Bieber Friday, BTS Saturday with a edm dj rttd and Sunday might be Oasis or Foo fighters?
Taylor Swift also released an album so she might finally play next year if she’s not doing Super Bowl.
It’s a well paid show in front of 100,000 and broadcasted globally to millions. I feel like it’s hard to argue any current act is “too big” to perform a famous stage like this despite their mind boggling tour numbers. They still would benefit from it. I don’t follow them but this seems like a perfect kick off for their comeback.
Inshallah
Oasis is going to do Reading 2026 as a full circle; and Glasto 2027. I don’t think they’re doing Coachella. At least not 2026. There’s no way they’ll do a non-UK festival first on this reunion.
Give it to me now so I can start complaining about not having a Do Lab and Quasar lineup
Last time HDD reported an early lineup it came out about 2 months later. Is it possible we get an October drop?
Benny w the facts
Lineup is being released Monday, September 8th.
I could see them releasing in November, just like last year. Makes sense if they want to take advantage of holiday sales.
Hi there!
I was wondering what the gap is between purchasing tickets if I wait for the lineup to drop, how much time will there be between the lineup dropping and me being able to purchase tickets before coachella starts
The issue isn’t gonna be tickets. It will be flight and lodging.
From what I’ve gathered… people local to SoCal don’t buy their Coachella ticket early for that reason.
You should be fine waiting for the lineup to drop
Agreed. And let's be real, Coachella hasn't sold out in a few years so tickets will be available (but like you said, there are only so many places to stay in what's already a touristy area and time of year - I say as a local)
Wdym weekend 1 always sells out?

The lineup drops by the end of the year and then people decide wich weekend. I personally choose to buy it when presale started for W1 since with my work schedule it works the best and then figure out the rest later on. I am going alone so i don't know yet if i want to integratea group in car camping or a hotel yet. i am searching the best option and then my flight is between LAX or PSP.
PSP is way more expensive than LAX from our experience last year but mannnn flying into PSP was so nice especially because we stayed so close to that airport!
I heard the same thing i think will just end up Canada to LAX and take the shuttle. I heard it was pretty convenient if you have a hotel or Airbnb.
Your question doesn’t really make sense. Like do you mean the lineup drops and then when do you purchase? Cause the lineup will drop (let’s say in a Tuesday) and then they will go on sale later that week on Friday.
Please see my update sorry for phrasing it incorrectly!
Thanks!
Ah! Tickets will be available until they sell out. There are limits like you’ll have to purchase before a certain date if you want them shipped vs picking them up at will call. The goal with buying tickets early is getting lower tier pricing.
time period between the 2 to purchase the tickets
depends how fast they sell.
Hi All! My wife and I are really debating on going to Coachella next year and buying the tickets when they go on presale tomorrow. We are just a little hesitant because we don’t know the lineup yet and might want to back out if it’s not what we’re looking for. This is such a big investment that I want to ensure we are 100% set on going. Have people found success reselling their passes (including car camping pass)? If so, how did you go about doing this? The passes being non-refundable kinda sucks but I get it. I wouldn’t even be looking to make a profit if I did decide to resell. Just get my money back. This is only if we get the tickets and are really disappointed with the lineup! We really want to cross this off our bucket list, so really hope the lineup is fire 😭
UPDATE WE GOT THE TICKETS, LFG!!!
If you go expecting very specific artists to be there you will 100% be disappointed. If that’s what will make you want to sell your tickets just wait until the lineup is announced and avoid the headache. Maybe get flights/lodging figured out if you can find something that is refundable.
Been going since 2010 and this was the first year I wasn’t that excited about the lineup when it first dropped as I didn’t know that many artists. That changed as soon as I started exploring the lineup and my top two performances this year (Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso and Gustavo Dudamel) were artists that I hadn’t even heard about before Coachella.
I buy on presale, always, because that way I minimize risk and don't have to deal with the onsale scrum in January. I know I will have a great time regardless of lineup, and I trust the lineup will allow me to fill out my days with great music.
Usually you can sell weekend 1 for face and weekend 2 at a loss. The year Bey headlined was an exception --- tickets went for well above face both weekends --- but there are only 2-3 artists in the world likely to cause that.
I totally agree with you but I'm curious on who you think the 2-3 artists that would make re-sale way above face
Taylor. Rihanna. Bieber. Adele.
I've gone to Coachella 16 times. The lineup is always phenomenal. If not about the headliners it's about exploring and learning new music. Think of going to a restaurant experiencing different foods for the first time in an amazing atmosphere with really cool people. That's what it's all about. Book it get your lodging go all in and you will not regret it!
Agree with this, if you love music you’re not going to be really disappointed in the lineup.
This is honestly what I’m looking to hear. I’m stoked to make this happen but hearing so many people saying Coachella was so overrated this year is scaring me lol
100% agreed
We go to local fests and concerts for artists we specifically want to see. We go to Coachella to discover all new awesome artists and sets that we never would’ve went out of our way to see or possibly found out about otherwise
Yes you can sell your tickets if you aren’t interested, you may take a hit if the lineup isn’t popular. But just go, there’s always quality
Tickets sell for a loss, preferred camping sell for 100% profit
Hey guys, my gf and I are planning to go to our first Coachella next year but were curious how much you guys spend on tickets plus accommodation? Do you guys prefer camping, hotels or Airbnb? What have your experiences been like? What should we expect? Thanks in advance!
This varies greatly from person to person and the answer to which way you'll go will be quite obvious to you fairly quickly.
Tickets are what? $599 wk 1 $549 wk 2 this year I think?
Car camping will cost you another $160 + whatever you buy to prep for camp. It won't necessarily be the comfiest stay, but all you need to do is sleep and it's your cheapest option.
Pretty much any option outside of car camping is going to cost you around $1000 per person on average. You can go for more of a "glamping" provided by the festival, you can get a hotel, or you can try an airbnb.. but it's all going to be around $800 per person at the absolute cheapest you can find unless you are in a group and can split a nice Airbnb 6-8 ways.
Also hotel room rates would vary as well but your looking at $700-$1000 per night before tax or parking etc. just to add some more insight… They do sell hotel packages. I’m not sure if that’s better than just booking on your own or not though.
The coachella hotel packages are usually $1000-$1200 per person for the entire weekend. $1000 a day is nuts.
I’m old AF, so my camping days are over and we stay in a very nice Airbnb every year. Here’s my rough breakdown of costs per person. Tix $700, accommodation $750, food drinks etc $400, flights and car rental $500. These are rough estimates and discretionary spending varies but I budget about $2500 +- few hundred. Not cheap, but the experience is priceless to me
Car camping is terrible book the Airbnb.
Agreed
I love camping, it makes it more of an experience than just a concert. That being said, I’ve car camped for 9 years and I think I’m finally willing to splurge for one of the onsite “glamping” options. After camping for so long I just can’t imagine going to Coachella and not staying onsite.
When does Coachella usually sell out
Key Considerations for Coachella Ticket Sales:
Ticket Sale Dates: Coachella typically announces ticket sale dates several months in advance. General admission tickets usually go on sale in January.
Pre-Sale vs. General Sale: There is often a pre-sale for those who register early, which can sell out quickly. The general sale usually follows shortly after.
Demand: Coachella is one of the most popular music festivals in the world, leading to high demand for tickets. They often sell out within hours, especially for weekend passes.
Resale Market: If tickets sell out quickly, many fans turn to the resale market. However, prices can be significantly higher than face value.
Takeaway: To secure tickets, it's best to register for pre-sale notifications and be ready to purchase as soon as they go live. Historically, tickets can sell out within minutes, so having a fast internet connection and multiple devices can help improve your chances.
