Reactions to the Ending of "Attack on Titan"

Complexity and Reception

The ending of "Attack on Titan" has been a topic of much debate, with opinions varying widely among fans. Some viewers appreciated the complex and experimental nature of the conclusion, which attempted to deliver a lasting impact through intricate plot twists [3:1]. However, this complexity also led to criticisms that the ending became tangled in its own narrative threads, leaving some viewers feeling disconnected rather than engaged [3:2].

Comparison with Other Series

When compared to other anime series like "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" (FMAB), many fans felt that FMAB provided a more satisfying closure. The latter is praised for wrapping up all plot lines neatly without resorting to last-minute surprises purely for shock value [3:3][3:4]]. This comparison highlights the challenge "Attack on Titan" faced in balancing a complex narrative with audience expectations.

Character Design and Themes

Despite mixed reactions to the storyline, elements like Eren's Founding Titan design were well-received for their creativity and thematic depth. The design was seen as symbolic, reflecting Eren's struggle for freedom and control [1]. Discussions around character designs often focus on how they contribute to the overarching themes of the series, such as the tension between destiny and free will.

Cultural Impact and Collaborations

The cultural impact of "Attack on Titan" extends beyond its narrative, as evidenced by collaborations like the one with Russian Burger King. Such partnerships highlight the series' broad appeal and its ability to engage audiences in various ways, even leading to humorous takes on the show's iconic elements [5].

Conclusion

Overall, the ending of "Attack on Titan" remains divisive, with some fans appreciating its ambition and others preferring more straightforward conclusions. The series continues to be celebrated for its unique contributions to anime, both in terms of storytelling and its broader cultural influence.

ORIGINAL POST

These two forms are by far the best designs on Attack On Titan and possibly all of anime, for Eren's Founding Titan I love how it is this absolutely gargantuan centipede fish skeleton thing and how it's upper body ressembles a humaniod and a puppet, mirroring Eren's freedom that doesn't exist, and also for the small meaty hind legs that at first seem goofy but they are menacing if you see that thing stomping around a bunch of Wall Titans.I got these images ( slide 2 and 3 ) from a video called Eren Starts The Rumbling-Rumbling Animation and I honestly love how Founding Titan Eren's hair sways,it is satisfying and also makes sense for it to be this hulking giant that causes earthquakes that can shatter entire contients. And I also love how it's hair sways when the head is blown off in slide 4 and 6,it is really beautiful and badass, and for slide 5 it is so cartoonishly long it is basically a map.And in slide 7,8,10 and 11 we have Eren's Colossal Titan,I love it because of how it has the same hair it got from Eren's Founding Titan form, and that is because as explained in the 11th slide that this is due to Rapunzel-Pede's head getting blown off ( I needed a creative name from Eren's Founding Titan so I picked Rapunzel-Pede ) and The Source Of All Living Matter attached itself to it's head and Eren possibly shrinked to fight Armin, the face is also pretty cool with it being kinda handsome too.The ridiculously, inhumanly extended hair of both Eren's Founding and Colossal Titans are one of if not my favorite part of them,it makes them look really majestic and makes them look as big as they should be like if you saw Eren's Founding Titan in Marley stomping and crawling with it's ribs and all you see is it's flowing mane of hair. And also I love how the hair sways in both of them,it feels very satisfying and hypnotic, even if mass destruction is happening and people are getting killed, you can't really look away from how mesmerizing this skeletal mermaid thing's hair moves,it sways back and fourth slowly, and the combination of the earthquakes and hair swaying on Eren's Colossal Titan in slide 7 is just chef's kiss.Even if they are scary or disturbing, there is still some beauty in there.I can link the video that was what the slide 2 and 3 images came from in the comments! TLDR:Eren's Founding and Colossal Titans are the best because they are both scary, slighty funny, tragic and have very luscious locks.

Black straight hair over the face continues to be an effective scary trope.

Yeah if it is something like Sadako where you can only see her eye that clearly looks like she has a unhinged and rage filled mind around her hair, but for Eren's Founding Titan I disagree because the hair doesn't scare me,it is more majestic than terrifying and that's because of how impossibly long and elongated it is and how it sways,it feels more oddly satisfying rather than unsettling. If it was something like Sadako where you might only see Eren's glowing eyes then I would agree,Sadako's scarier cuz her hair almost completely covers the face and that invokes a fear of the unknown type of thing, you can clearly see Eren's Titan face.

https://youtu.be/0pnto072TPM?si=sK_NuqPn7bjIqqnF Here is the video where the images of slide 2 and 3 come from, now you can experience the majestic flow and swaying of The Mermaid Of Destruction's hair! ( I will keep making creative names for Eren's Founding Titan if I don't want to repeat saying the name. )

CONNECTIONS:

  • Two short-haired heroines with tragic backstories of losing their families at a young age.
  • They come from worlds where humanity is terrorized by humanoid monsters (Kabane and Titans)
  • Both fight with duel wielding weapons (Mumei fighting with guns while Mikasa fights with swords).
  • They have superhuman abilities due to their bloodlines (Mikasa having the Ackerman Clan blood running through her veins, while Mumei is a Kabaneri, a Human/Kabane hybrid).
  • Both have a male companion they deeply care for who is the main character and are extremely determined individuals who fight their world’s monsters and just so happen to be half of said monsters themselves (the Kabaneri, Ikoma and the Attack Titan, Eren Yeager respectively).
  • Both also have a scarf/ribbon around their necks in their attire.

FMAB has everything you need. Its perfect closure and doesn't leave unsolved plot-lines, nor tries to make everything over the top pulling last minute surprises that end up being just pure shock factor.

Isayama tried too hard to make something forcefully "lasting" that it ended up pulling too many strings at once and got tangled in confusing last minute plot-twists that left many people distracted instead of connected to the ending. The story was already an instant classic, there was no need to add more and more to the pile, to the point where he had to add extra pages and even those left people perhaps even more unsatisfied and confused.

Anxiety, Panic Attack, or Heart Attack type films?

The only two offhand I can think of are the frenetic and chaotic energy of both Uncut Gems and Beau is Afraid.

What other films feel like a panic attack, or pure anxiety, or that you might have a heart attack from the tension?

Directly related, but you’ll probably enjoy Good Time, by the Safdie Brothers. It’s not as fully unhinged as Uncut Gems, but it has some very intense moments.

Titan Serum Sauce is Coming to Russian Burger King for Attack on Titan Collaboration

The collaboration with Russian Burger King and Attack on Titan starts on September 17. Judging by the packaging leak from one of the posts (https://www.reddit.com/r/ShingekiNoKyojin/comments/1n9y0qs/leaked\_photos\_of\_burger\_king\_x\_attack\_on\_titan/), it can be assumed that the combo set will include acrylic figurines. And you can buy glasses separately, as I understand. I'm waiting for September 17 to check it all out myself.

Final battle is just a story expansion. The main game story remains the same. It only adds additional content as a separate story mode.

What if there was a Attack On Titan Season 4 game made by the same people that have you Attack On Titan 2:The Final Battle?

Posted by Logical_Bug801 · in r/attackontitan · 4 days ago

I'm going to share my ideas as to what a Attack On Titan season 4 game made by the guys who made Attack On Titan 2:The Final Battle might look like, first you are going to fight the Warhammer Titan and playing as Eren Yeager, and then you are going to fight Bertholdt's Colossal Titan and Reiner's Armoured Titan.Next you are going to fight Zeke's Beast Titan and we are going to get to the big guns with this one,Eren's Founding Titan and the Wall Titans, they are going to COOK with this one, especially since how much Wall Titans they have to make and they better make them unique and not just use remodels of the Colossal Titan, them being unique is what they are in the actual series. And also the sheer destruction they'd cause and Eren's Founding Titan moving with the skeletal body moving it's legs like a centipede and the really long hair of the titan swaying back and fourth dramatically, and the absolutely insane earthquakes they'd make.I want them to make Eren's Founding Titan have earthquakes too to show how massive he is,his stomps would make a continent get destroyed, and I want this game to show us how Eren's Founding Titan crossed the ocean,I think he might've slithered with his ribs by hunching his body down like a snake with his legs upwards, they could show a scene like his spikes from his back jutting out when he slithers like the shark from Jaws, you can even show his ribs stabbing fish and ocean life and his sheer movement can cause earthquakes that would lead to tsunamis, when he emerges and gets to the highest part he'd emerge like Ariel from the Little Mermaid by making him move with his legs and he'd flip his super long hair like Ariel and it'd cause tsunamis that would destroy Marley ships,it would be terriflying but also very beautiful because of the long hair flipping. And as a boss fight you have to kill the Wall Titans first, then you have to fight Zeke's Beast Titan again as a mini-boss.And finally you fight Eren's Founding Titan to get his nape, you fight the Okapi Titan as a boss fight and the other Ancient Titans are enemies.Bertholdt's Colossal Titan would be a mini-boss but you don't really kill him because he gets redeemed, you play as Reiner, and when you get to Founding Titan Eren's nape you play as Jean, you blow up his head and his hair sways dramatically like what you'd see in a shampoo commerical, this is in my opinion would be the best scenes purely because of the exceptionally long hair swaying,it would be very majestic and satisfying, then the Source Of All Living Matter comes to his head and you play as Reiner again,Eren's head is basically a map because of how big the head is and how long his hair is.Then you lose and the source goes to Eren's head,he turns into the Colossal Titan and we get to see the process,Eren's head shrinks so his head can fit in his Colossal Titan body,he transforms into a Colossal Attack Titan form and he is battling Armin, you play as Armin's Colossal Titan and you fight Eren, you punch and kick Eren,Eren is doing the same, but this is slower because the fight wouldn't make sense if it were fast like in the anime. You pull Eren's hair and he whips it at you for revenge ( I would've loved to see Eren whipping his hair at Armin for revenge on him pulling it,would've been a justified crash out and because people with long hair hate their hair getting pulled. ) and you play as Mikasa, you go to Eren's head and you kill the human Eren inside, the end,but there is a secret level and it is a level where Ymir's Founding Titan in it,you play as a soilder and you fight Ymir's Founding Titan but she's too big so she kills you. After all that you can play as Titans, you can play as Eren's Founding Titan and the attacks would be kicking Titans with it's hind legs like a donkey or he can summon Ancient Titans or Zeke to fight other Titans, you can go berserk by making your strings come off and you whip your hair at Colossal Titans and you stomp on smaller Titans. You play as Ymir's Founding Titan and you summon Ancient Titans, stomp on the Titans and you scream at them like a banshee, you play as Warhammer Titan and you attack Titans with your powers, you play as the Okapi Titan and you can play as Falco's Jaw Titan and other Jaw Titans. You play as Eren's Colossal Titan and you can punch, stomp and kick Titans and you can whip your long hair at other Titans, man this is a wall of text lol. This is my idea of what a Attack On Titan season 4 game would look like and if it is like this it'd be PEAK I'd say!

I would definitely want a different game studio to make a new AOT game. I strongly dislike the official AOT games as they are. They’re buggy, multiplayer doesn’t work, it gets repetitive. This anime needs a game that lives up to the world it’s portraying with a good budget

1 upvotes on reddit
Logical_Bug801 · OP · 3 days ago

I disagree since the AOT games from what I've seen aren't that buggy and all,it doesn't get repetitive and it seems fun.But yeah a AOT season 4 game with a good budget and isn't glitchy or buggy would be nice, especially how they could portray the Rumbling with all that stomping of the Wall Titans and Eren's Founding Titan, the hair of Eren's Founding Titan swaying back and fourth, and the fight between Eren's Colossal Titan and Armin's Colossal Titan and the hair of it swaying, how Eren's Founding Titan can cross the ocean etc.

I don’t think the engine that the first 2 games run on can handle the rumbling or large scale, immersive battles

And also there'd be alternate timelines as levels, like what if Gabi didn't shoot Eren so he can turn into the Founding Titan? It'd look like a 350 meter tall version of his Colossal Titan but with bony spikes jutting out of his spine and his ribcage exposed, his hands and feet are bones. In this Titan form he'd actually attack but he attacks more like a fairytale character or a spectral being rather than a Titan,he can make his long hair prehensile to grab buildings or Wall Titans and throw them at cities or the Alliance to destroy them and he can make his spikes higher so he can hang people,he can have arms all around his body if The Alliance are around the back, basically a eldritch lovecraftion ghost or something.Since he can manipulate biology it makes sense he'd do this stuff, even making his hair prehensile, there must be a reason as to why his Founding Titan has such long hair. And he can summon Ancient Titans to kill the Alliance,The Aliance would instead fight them in the ground rather than Eren's back. And if Ymir was a adult and transformed into the Founding Titan in the Rumbling arc she'd be a boss fight, you will kill her by going for the head just like Eren.
