TL;DR
TOTO
TOTO is widely regarded as the gold standard for bidet toilet seats. The TOTO Washlet series, particularly the S550e and S7A models, are frequently recommended for their luxury features like instant warm water, high-speed drying, and auto open lid [1:8]
[2:1]. Users have praised TOTO for its durability and reliable customer support, although some older remote controls had issues
[4:3]. For those seeking the ultimate experience, the TOTO Neorest NX2 integrated toilet offers self-cleaning features but comes at a steep price
[5:4].
Brondell
Brondell is another popular brand with several models that cater to different budgets. The Brondell Swash 1400 and LE99 are noted for their comfort and ease of installation [2]
[3]. Users appreciate the value Brondell offers, especially when purchased from retailers like Costco
[4:1]. While not considered luxury, Brondell bidets are praised for their functionality and reliability
[4:6].
BioBidet
BioBidet has mixed reviews. While some users initially liked models like the BB-2000 Bliss, others reported issues such as remote malfunctions and seat misalignment [2:3]. Additionally, there are concerns about longevity, with some units failing shortly after warranty periods
[1:9]. Despite these issues, BioBidet remains a popular choice due to its feature-rich offerings.
Affordable Alternatives
For those on a budget, the Philtre bidet attachment offers similar features to Brondell at a lower price [1:5]. The Eco-NOVA bidet seat is also recommended for its sleek design and robust warranty
[3:2]. These options provide essential features like adjustable water pressure and heated seats without breaking the bank.
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
When selecting a bidet toilet seat, consider key features such as heated seats, warm water, and electric versus non-electric models. It's important to ensure compatibility with your toilet bowl type (round or elongated) [4:4]. If you're looking for a premium experience, investing in a higher-end model like the TOTO Neorest might be worthwhile, but for everyday use, brands like Brondell and affordable alternatives offer great value.
My husband wants a bidet toilet seat for Christmas. What’s the best one out there? Price wise I am willing to spend a decent amount for the best model.
Toto is the best. I have two one top of the line the other middle grade. Both are fabulous.
BioBidet, Brondell, and Toto are the three you want to look at. My wife wanted a bidet for her birthday and thanks to my adhd I did more research on them then I'd care to admit. Pretty much all of the threads on BuyItForLife suggested this Brondell bidet, so that's what I went with. Wife loves it and I even started using it after promising her that I never would lol
Edit: Spelling
Brondell is legit. I think I enjoy using mine a little too much lol
This Toilet Bidet Attachment from PHILTRE has been my favorite. The article I linked, compares it to Brondell, and it has all the same bells and whistles for a better price. Check the reviews out and you can see its a good choice. We have Brondell in one bathroom and got the Philtre in the other and I def like it more. I'll be getting the it for our third bathroom soon enough.
BioBidet wont last past 2 years warranty mark. Even under warranty they send you DYI parts instead of real warranty.
I am currently replacing my biobidet and it made it a little over 4 years. That said, I am going to TOTO this time.
I'm here researching so I can replace my 3 year old BioBidet. I've been messing with it for months trying to get it back to normal function, and I'm done with it.
Agreed , I went for Kohler and while is a very nice bidet , the light in my bathroom start flickering when I use the was function. I hate that...
I just threw my BB-2000 in the trash after the 3 year mark. It developed a wretched stink in the back compartment where are the electronics are despite diligent cleaning. Then the seat sensor stopped working and the water occasionally wouldn't get warm despite the temp being turned up. Fully featured piece of junk.
I imagine no one wants to work on a poop particle covered seat.
Now I'm currently searching for the best bidet toilet seat to upgrade my bathroom setup. I’m looking for something that’s hygienic, easy to install, and offers useful features like adjustable water pressure, temperature control, and maybe even a heated seat for those colder months.
I’ve checked out a few models online, but I’d really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences and any recommendations you might have. Some of the options I’ve come across include:
If you’ve tried any of these or have a personal favorite, I’d love to hear what makes it worth it. I’m especially interested in comfort, durability, and how easy it is to maintain. Whether electric or non-electric, any feedback would be super helpful as I make my decision.
Be sure to pay attention to these key features: instant (tankless) warm water, high-speed drying, and auto open lid & seat.
Here’s a breakdown of a few common models and their features—worth a quick look
I've had 2 of the Bio Bidet 2000 Bliss and liked the first one (except it sometimes slips off center on the toilet seat) but am having several issues with the 2nd one. Remote not working correctly, seat slipping off center, one of the buttons on the side not working. It's still in warranty so will probably be replaced but I won't be buying another one.
Brondell T44 is the best imo.
Love my T44 but one small annoyance - the top lid only stays open if I hold it up for a count of 3. It's on a wall mount toilet so there's nothing pushing it back and it's at least 90º when open. It seems like the soft close mechanism tends to pull it forward unless I hold it. Does yours do that? Any advice? Thanks!
I don't have any problems with the lid. I'm sorry but I don't know what could fix yours.
Brondell
If you want the best of the best and are willing to pay for it, the Toto S7A Bidet (previously known as the Washlet S550e) is Reddit’s top luxury recommendation. It's the Rolls Royce of bidets.
Hi, I’m looking to buy a bidet toilet seat and have been researching online, but I’d love to hear about real-world experiences from actual users. After browsing around, I’ve come across a few options that seem popular:
I’m mainly looking for a seat that’s comfortable, durable, and has good features like adjustable water pressure, heated seats, and easy installation. If anyone has used any of these or has other recommendations, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts!
Thanks in advance!
Hi there,
Was not included among your options but I saw one commenter say they feel like they are on a downward slope with the TOTO washlets, that's probably 'coz of the height of the back part.
I would add to your list, you might want to check out the Eco-NOVA bidet seat, highly recommended!
It's the sleekest bidet in the market for it's price range. It has all the great features as well and a sittable lid. It even has a robust warranty and a Risk Free Trial period as well.
Hope that helps!
I recently installed the Toto Washlet K300 and I do t know why it’s not talked about more. It doesn’t have the + which hides the mechanism more but that wasn’t as much a concern for me. It looks great on the Toto drake toilet, has tons of features and has come down to $530 on Amazon now.
Toto s7a with auto flush add on
$1800 🤯 holy moly
Any recommendations in the $200-300 range?
I have this one. https://bidetking.com/products/bio-bidet-bb-1000-supreme-bidet-seat-w-remote. Works great.
This is the best one you can get, IMO.
Go all the way and get a Toto washlet+ toilet to go with it.
What features make this the best in your opinion? Its considerably more expensive than others.
Yes if you want the best this is it. It’s expensive but the best purchase I made in 2023. Absolutely love it.
I have the Toto C5. I could not be happier with it. It might be my best purchase ever.
The TOTO C5 will be discontinued this summer as they will be replacing it with the S5. I would wait for that or go to the S7. Discontiuned units will lack support and parts after a little while.
The information about the S5 was a highlight of the TOTO booth at KBIS 2025. They are bringing their seats under the "S" line.
I can’t recommend this one enough: https://bidetking.com/products/alpha-ux-pearl-bidet-toilet-seat It goes on sale for $400 a lot. For $500 on sale you can snag the auto open version and that’s such a nice perk! I like it a lot more than the Toto’s I’ve owned or used.
Ok, on your recommendation I'm gonna get one...I loved my Toto 550E but the electronics shit the bed in just over a year and Toto factory service was worthless.
I'm trusting you....
Pros please help me choose a genuinely good bidet! 🙏
What should I be looking for? Heated seat? Warm water? Electric vs. non-electric?
Also, which brands actually hold up over time? TOTO? Brondell? Bio Bidet?
I’d love your recommendations before I spend the money. Thanks a ton! 🚽✨
Toto Washlet, I’ve got one and I installed two in my in-laws house, no trouble from any of them for about five years.
We have two Totos at our house. Also installed a couple Totos in my in laws' house. I think Toto is generally the gold standard for bidets.
I will say - their older remote controls were pieces of shit that would break if you breathed on them wrong. I think they've replaced those with more robust designs.
Support with Toto has generally been pretty good. My first one failed after about a decade and they repaired it for a pretty low cost.
I've had a Toto for 5 years now and have not had a single problem. The seat warmer and heated water are sooooo nice.
I can vouch for Brondell. Got mine on Amazon for $90 about a year ago. Looks like a regular toilet seat. No bells and whistles, no heated water. Easy to install, pretty simple to use. Bought a second one for the other bathroom recently.
Make sure you know what type of toilet bowl you have. Either round or elongated.
I like my brondell too but it is a bit creaky. Might be a “me” issue tho
Nah, they are cheap bidet seats. They have their place. If you don't have an outlet or money for a Toto, go for a Brondell. They aren't luxury, but they work.
Toto is the answer
Love my Brondell bidet. I got two from Costco and recommended it to all my friends and they all love them.
Money is no object.. I want the best of the best. Seat warmer, warm water, air dryer, night light, the whole 9 yards. I'm ready to upgrade my current setup. Who can give me some good options? Personal reviews are welcome. TIA!
I can only speak from my own personal experience but I have a Toto skirted Nexus toilet with the Toto S7 washlet and I love the combo. I purposely did not get an integrated toilet/bidet - reasoning being that if the washlet ever had a problem, it could be sent out for repair/replacement without having to remove a whole toilet.
I also did not want the automatic open/close lid because it’s a very small bathroom and I didn’t need it opening every time I walked past the doorway - but I have all the ‘bells and whistles’ otherwise. I am crazy about this thing and miss it when I travel.
Just as an FYI, only the top portion of the Neorest would be sent in for factory repair.. or if you are in one of many service areas, Toto does provide in home service for their Neorest and Washlet.
Toto s550. Toto k300 is basically s550 without auto close/open lid. S550 is nicer but the auto lid eventually fails in time. I’m on my third 550e and have 2 k300s in guest bathrooms. Note, drunk visitors will sit on the auto lid before it has a chance to open if your bathroom is small.
If money is truly no object, toto neorest NX2 integrated toilet with self cleaning.
https://www.totousa.com/neorest-nx2-dual-flush-toilet-10-gpf-08-gpf-new?color=cotton
Wow, what a gem that is! A toilet of $25k USD (and look at all that empty space in the bathroom!!)
That is real luxury. It's like the rolls royce of toilet seats. Wow, I didnt expect that price point. It makes me revaluate my priorities in life.
Definitely in billionaire territory with those, as you can get a new car for less. The G5A will have to do for the regular multi-millionaires.
Do not install these in a rental.
Just as an FYI having done it on multiple occasions. It takes around 2 hours to replace the seat on an NX model.
Butt the UV self cleaning is pretty cool.
Bad idea. Please just don’t. I say this as a former landlord of 45 years, and as a person who has read about all of the plumbing malfunctions associated with attachable bidet toilet seats. And as a former mother of kids who would think that’s the best toy ever invented.
Having been a landlord, I wouldn't install any in rentals
Possibly the Spleen Sprayer 9000. It can turn you inside out. Usually only sold at specialty plumbing supply stores.
If money is no object, get a toilet with integrated bidet (like the Toto Neorest or Kohler Leap) rather than a bidet seat attachment.
Must have : electric/warm water, heated, warm air dry, light. Want : remote control along with control panel however either or is fine. Ready to upgrade from my attachable bidet.
I have had a Bio Bidet 9600 for 5 years now. No problems at all. Bought on sale a Costco. When it goes, I will by another Bio Bidet.
If you're looking for a Cadillac of bidet systems get the Toto s7a washlet with the toilet bowl to hide the wires. Its just amazing.
I got 3 Toto s7a’s with Washlet+ toilets for our three bathrooms. Amazing and transformative! Sprung for the auto flush as well. Never have to touch a thing ever again
Fourth-ing this one!
We just got our s7a and it's absolutely amazing. We paired it with the Nexus Washlet+ and it's absolutely wonderful
At that price, I’d want it to do more than clean …. Wow at 2000 USD plus? 😳
Seriously, at that price, it should just go ahead and 💩 for me as well... 🫨 🚽
Second this. The S7A has been great.
Third this.
I have its predecessor which is the 550e which essentially has all of those features.
Not only are the features great but so is the quality. Mine has been working without any issues for almost six years.
Bb2000
BioBidet 2000 has been fabulous. So happy with purchase.
we recently purchased the bio bidet 1200L at costco, it has all the features you listed. it was $300 on sale for $200 last month.
Brondell Swash Ultra-Thin CL2200 Luxury Bidet Toilet Seat from Costco. Had it for a year now and love it! Has all the features you are looking for and thin design
Hello all, I'm ready to take the plunge and buy a bidet seat. I found a thread on here, but the responses were about 5 years old. I was wondering if anyone had any specific recommendations for a bidet washlet seat. My price point is around $350 (less is fine), heat option, and wanting the feminine option. Thanks in advance!
Check out bidetking.com it's very easy to filter by features. Brondell, Toto, and biobidet were what I found were best. Due to features I bought the biobidet 600 was the most economical for us and it's been great for several years.
Important: self cleaning wands, heated seat, heated water, separate feminine and bum wands, osilation and massage
Not important: led bowl lights, motion sensor opening, remote controls, heat drying, enemas
Those are my examples, but decide what you want and get a unit that fulfills that at bidetking or research there and source elsewhere. I know warehouse stores like Costco sometimes have them.
Seriously though, heated seat is the dumbest thing I take daily joy from and didn't know I even wanted.
Yea I have no issues finding a seat to accommodate my wants/needs its more so finding a quality one that isn't prone to malfunctioning, seat cracking, etc. While it may not be for life, I just want one that will last more than a year. A lot if reviews are either the seat breaking within a year or "omg I love it, just got it 2 weeks ago".
Then I will reiterate my choice of a biobidet 600 that I've had for several years.
We have the bio bidet bb1000. We love it. It has a lot of the features you are looking for. Keep a eye on woot the seem to go on sale quite often as a daily woot sale. we got ours for under $300
Toto
All the other companies just haven't been around for long.
Yup we tried a bunch of different Totos while in Japan, they were all quality. We bought the C100 when we came home. That's probably in OPs price range.
Good enough for the Japanese Imperial family, good enough for me.
I have a brondell- it’s been around for a couple years now. Works well. Love the heated seat.
Wife loves her BioBidet. Had it for about 2 years and no problems.
I see sponsored ads for some brands but i am skeptical of all of the 5 star reviews.
Edit: Thank you all. I bought a Toto A2 washlet for ~300 from Build. I hope to recoup this costs with a cleaner tush/less toilet paper use.
Toto Washlet It is amazing… Warm seat, warm water, deodorizer fan, auto wand washer, etc. We got the least expensive one and it’s great. Bidetking had the best price.
Toto Washlet is pretty much the gold standard for these things. On my short list of home upgrades to do after using them in hotel rooms.
After finishing my full bathroom reno a few months ago I went full hog and got the toto washlet s550 and the matching toto one piece toilet so the water and electrical are hidden… I have to say it is the greatest purchase I have ever made. Also while not required but being into home automation I even added it to my home automation system and alexa… https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/115cscl/automating_the_potty_done/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I agree! We have a Toto C200 which is great and a Brondell which is not-so-great. Toto water nozzle has good pressure and adjustment, the Brondell is weaker. The Brondell does have a nightlight. Both have temp adjustment for the seat and the water.
I’n eyeing the Toto A2 with the controls attached to the bidet. The remote for the C2 seems unnecessary since i think i would only use the bidet while i’m sitting on it, not while preparing dinner in the kitchen 😜
Go for ToTo. Brondell remote stopped working. No support, just told to replace, which I did with ToTo. So much better
Yes this …. Best investment piece… especially model with seat warmer and warm water. Only thing is you near a normal power outlet nearby!
I bought two of the LUXE Bidet NEO 185 - Non-Electric Bidet, and love them. Very easy install. For elongated toilets only!
These are started bidets. Spend the extra on a washlet and you will never go back.
Brondell non electric. It's pretty streamlined and works well.
Tushy! We have them in all our bathrooms.
Can't speak to all of them, but Tushys has you hook up to your hot water connection under your sink. It works pretty well.
It's time. Ive seen enough hype and want to get a bidet toilet seat.
Jumped on here so that you guys can fill me in on whats best one to get so i dont end up with some cheap gimmick/ pretend bum cleaner.
lets here them, thanks
I've got two Luxe brand bidets. About $40, work great, no issues.
No need for the ones that cost $100-$400 with all the fancy features
Luxe bidets all the way! I grabbed one a couple years ago after hearing all the hype and honestly, it was one of the best bathroom upgrades I've made without breaking the bank. Super easy install, does exactly what you need, and hasn't given me a single problem. Now all my toilets have luxe bidets installed!
I second this, only ones I have bought for each house and each toilet. Only one had a knob that broke
I have Luxe and love it. Have been in a house that had both Luxe and name brand and the Luxe was way better honestly
Agreed! Tushy was the worst one I’ve tried by far.
I got a $80 one on sale and it’s the bees knees.
Toto C5. We're deliriously happy with it. Easy install, has all the features, comfortable. Dooo eeeet.
For basic with no electrical, Brondell makes a fantastic one. Had ours for 5 years now and seems the same as when we bought it.
thanks evan, did you pay alot?
I’m not the person you’re asking, but I have this Brondell bidet from Costco (currently on sale for $70) and it has been problem-free in the year or so that I’ve had it. It’s the biggest game-changer of a purchase that I’ve made in the past few years. If it ever breaks, I’ll immediately buy another one.
Toto. No other.
You will see a lot of comments on here that the basic, sub $100 ones work just fine. And they do! However..... there is something to be said for the higher end models, as well. I have a Toto (can't remember the model) that is fully customizable per user - Water temperature, pressure, position. And also has a dryer feature and a charcoal filter to cut down on the stink. It is also self cleaning, and removes from the toilet with one touch of a button for easy cleaning of the toilet and the underside of the bidet. My wife and I find that we have very different preferences so the customizability is incredibly helpful for us. And, quite frankly, our asses deserve it.
There is also the consideration that the more complicated ones with electronics in them are more prone to failure. A friend of mine got one of those but it died after a few years, and he then replaced it with a cheap one that is simpler and thus more reliable. If buy it for life is your goal, you'll be better off with a basic one without electronic controls.
Hello,
I'm looking around to buy a bidet toilet.
It seems like TOTO toilets are really expensive compared to other brands.
When looking to buy a bidet toilet, how do you determine if that's the right one?
Is TOTO the only one to go?
Thanks
Hello,
If you're looking for a Standard toilet to pair with a bidet seat I would suggest going somewhere locally to purchase at Lowes or Home Depot. If you're looking for the cords and hoses to be hidden, along with a classic look with the tank in the back I would recommend a TOTO WASHLET+ Toilet. TOTO is a highly recommendable Brand that we trust! If you're looking for an Integrated Unit that has a sleek look I would recommend a TOTO Neorest or Studio Lux.
I can't answer all of that, but our Toto Drake with C2 washlet has been fantastic and gets used daily. No issues in the past two years. When we renovate the other bathroom I'm putting one in there too.
I ran the outlet myself and installed everything. Got the toilet from Ferguson. I think everything in total including electrical was $1200-ish
There are many options with many different feature sets, reliability reputations, warranties, etc. that you can choose between.
Toto isn’t the only option, but it’s the one I picked because it’s a brand I trust, and the Neorest NX1 is an amazing toilet, which for the price it damn well better be.
Biobidet makes a nice tankless bidet toilet with auto open and close for less than $3000
