TL;DR
Top Brands
Several brands are frequently recommended for standing desks. Uplift and Fully are often praised for their quality and customer service [2:1]
[2:6]. DeskHaus is noted for its sturdiness and value at its price point
[4:4]
[4:8]. Herman Miller is recognized as a premium brand, although it comes with a higher price tag
[2:1]
[4:5].
Value and Price
When considering the best value, Fully Jarvis is often mentioned as a reliable choice with good support [2:8]. For those looking to spend less, FlexiSpot is suggested as a budget-friendly option
[4:12]. The vari v2 desk offers dual motors and stability at a moderate price
[5:4].
Stability and Build Quality
Stability is a critical factor for standing desks, especially at taller heights. DeskHaus's Apex Pro model is highlighted for its stability, even on carpet [4:4]. Vari desks are also noted for being sturdy
[5:4]. It's important to consider the desk's frame and motor quality, which can affect stability
[4:3].
Customer Service and Warranty
Customer service and warranty are essential considerations when purchasing a standing desk. Uplift and Fully are known for responsive customer service [2:8]
[5:9]. DeskHaus has been praised for its support chat responsiveness
[4:10]. Checking the warranty terms and ensuring the company is established can help avoid issues down the line
[1:1].
Additional Recommendations
For Canadian buyers, Desky and Ergonofis offer locally made options, though some components may be sourced internationally [3:2]
[3:3]. If you have specific needs or dimensions, modular systems like USM KITOS might offer customizable solutions
[5:1]. Always consider the space available and your specific requirements before making a purchase.
Pretty much the title. Looking for good brands for electrical standing desk. I was trying to find reliable brands online and it seems I am not able to find any.
Help please?
The best brand can depend on what you are needing and using it for. Is height range a factor? Stability at what height? Space a concern? What is your budget? How much do you plan to be at the desk?
Check warranty from the company, and make sure the company is established in order to fulfill any warranty need.
I am partial to brands made in Europe or North America (and maybe obviously the USA).
I've seen quite a few different brands recommended on here, but I'm unsure where they place in terms of bottom vs mid vs top tier.
Reading various posts, it seems DeskHaus is certainly on the higher end. Then there are others like TOPSKY, Fully, Xdesk, Fezibo, and many others.
So I'm wondering, is there any consensus on one that is typically seen as the "best value"? How about "the best regardless of price"? Or "avoid at all costs"?
I'm not going to rank myself but heres how I'd rank companies based on consumer products, customer service etc.

I'd avoid:
There are of course tons of other brands that are great but I always look at who they are, what they are offering, price to value, are they just a "brand", or do they actually have a warehouse to service their customers . For example, Ergonofis. Seems like a great company. Probably is a great company. However, their flagship desk frame is a linak DL1 kick and click system which is IMO a bad frame. So while the company may have great customer service, I just can't put my faith in them when they use such a bad frame...again, in my opinion. I'm obsessed using the best and in my eyes, using a bad frame, but spending thousands on marketing because our tops are beautiful and they will buy it anyways doesn't sit well with me.
Agree on this. I would just add Humanscale to the list. The Float is a really nice desk.
Here is "The Float" technology at $1200 cheaper.

Also made here in Grand Rapids.
A couple questions if you have a moment:
Where would you rank Workrite? Afaik they've been in business for a long time and their desks are legit. Though they seem to have given up on direct-to-consumer.
Are you lumping in AMQ with Steelcase? If not, where would they rank?
hi there! do you have any thoughts on Desky? they seem to have a lot of good reviews on their site. trying to decide between fully (eco top jarvis) and desky.
Can I ask why to avoid xdesk? I know they seem to be quite expensive, but they seem to be the go-to for customized desks.
Okay well this one can get me going....
It says owned by a woman. Which before you get all sexist on me. It's not that she's a women. It's that she's really just a front for her husband that has owned several defunct businesses that I have heard of. One being a pool company that ripped off people of 100's of thousands of dollars.
They are trigger happy with lawsuits IE BTOD lawsuit.
Their desks are overpriced for what they actually are and I've heard several terrible consumer stories on them. Best thing they have going is a relationship with MKBHD. I actually took a desk out to MKBDH in 2018. (YES, before Deskhaus was born) You can see the desk in his setup vids. He makes no mention of it but its the red frame desk in the TOP-DOWN room. I learned that they have an active relationship.
I can go on and on but if you screw consumers once. You'll do it again.
This site has a sort of tiering which seems to make sense to me.
I just received my Uplift desk and got it put together.. I'm in love with this thing. Very sturdy and the laminate is high quality it seems. I got the 60x30 and im enjoying my work sessions so much more. I'd recommend getting some monitor arms with them to maximize ergonomics.. I got the crestview ones for $200 but they are worth it, clamp on and fully adjustable.
I think you will always be fine with Fully Jarvis. They have great support and are responsive. We own an L shaped desk with Bamboo.
I don't think it's that deep. You scored getting some cheaper ones that work well. Uplift from my experience is a high quality desk and thats the only point I was getting across. I definitely dont think however that you can apply that same expectation for the actual desk. Maybe monitor arms you can score at a cheap price like that - I don't recommend someone try and cheap out for the actual desk though.
Seconded. Both my buddy and I got desks from them (1 year apart). Both came without issue. Mine had a minor manufacturing defect on one of the screws but nothing major that I felt warranted an email to them. Sti
Canadian owned, headquartered in Ottawa with good reviews. They have adjustable standing desks, chairs, monitor arms and other accessories. They have fast shipping times and long warranties. Definitely a good alternative.
Another option is https://ergonofis.com/ many of their desks are made in Canada, just the motor comes from China
I saw them too but they are quite more expensive.
I did ask them about where their products are made and this is the answer I got:
“Please see the attached screenshot for our hardwood desktop origins. The frames and motors are made in China.”
So none of the wood is sourced in Canada then
Correct, which is odd because we have some good wood here in Canada.
I’ve been using a MotionGrey frame for 5 years - pretty affordable and no complaints. For the surface, I bought a butcher block countertop from Home Depot (yes, I know they’re American… this was 2020). Should be able to find something similar at Home Hardware or IKEA.

Bestar is a Canadian company from Lac Magantic, Quebec.
I bought my standing desk from them, off Costco’s website site. It’s been years; I don’t know where it was made but I’m sure you can look up origin on their website.
When I bought the desk I didn’t even realize it was a Canadian company. Based on the name I had assumed it was a Chinese brand, in the way Amazon now has all these off-brand names that look like a random series of letters.
After some googling I was pleasantly surprised. Even more so when I learned they are based in Lac Megantic, and how the company invited businesses that were affected by the Lac Megantic rail disaster to work out of their factory while the town was being rebuilt.
I’ve done so much research, and I haven’t found any other brand that comes close to them.
No.
At our price points. Yes.
But there are other desks out there that are more stable but also 4x the cost.
Seeing the latest standing desk from Herman Miller has me fully in the camp of ‘price doesn’t mean jack anymore’. So yeah Deskhaus and other brands like it are actually great choices for the price. It’s crazy that HM is charging what they do - and we all know why they can (big corporate bulk buying)
I did just see a Linus Tech Tips video about that desk like 2 days after assembling a Vivo corner desk and I wasn't impressed in the slightest.
All screws in a single bag, no included manual (and the manual isn't made (in part or in full) for the exact version you have), that model only had up/down buttons without memory, etc. My Vivo had all of that for a third the cost and it works great 😅
I am glad you are truthful. I came to say this exact thing. I think a couple are sturdier at 2x the cost but yes best for the price. Iron Age is amazing if you can splurge
What are some of the good options at the higher price point?
Even the cheapest model (essentially a Jarvis) is very solid in the low position, stiff enough for computer use in the high, and doesn't strain with 300 pounds. The four-leg, four-motor Apex Pro Max with a crossbar is as far as you can take any desk with off-the-shelf lifting columns. It could be an engine lift.
It's always possible to take things further with an unlimited budget. There's just no reason to do it unless the top is four inches of granite.
My deskhaus Apex Pro is extremely sturdy. It's on carpet which I know isn't always ideal but it doesn't rock or sway or feel unbalanced. I even do reverse body weight rows on mine when feeling the motivation. Anyway, I've had it for 2 years now and I think it has been a great purchase.
Same. I have an Apex Pro that I set up a couple days back and it's very stable. Not as stable as the fixed steel frame that I had before that, but I don't think any standing desk company could claim that level of stability.
Just buy a Deskhause. You won’t regret it.
Must try FlexiSpot
I like mine have had it for years. It's insane how tall it gets
Their support chat on the website is very responsive, even reached out via email after to confirm a question.
Hey all - trying to make the switch in careers and get into software engineering and been doing lots of classes online. I've always been an avid gamer, so sitting at a desk wasn't terribly hard, but I'm finding myself more and more drooling over standing desks since I think it'll help me focus for long periods of time. Looking for recommendations/links to your favorite standing desk. I'm trying to not spend too much money right now, but also trying to stay close to my original desk dimensions (55" length and 29" width) so that it can accommodate my two monitors nicely. Thanks in advance!
My desk, that’s my favorite because I already own it and it’s got my stuff on it. /s
I have a 90x70 progressive L shaped desk in my home office and it’s my battle station and lab.
That sounds epic...but expensive. Ha. Unfortunately I'm living in a fairly small house currently so I can't go much bigger than the dimensions I listed above. That's a great dream setup though!
Sent you a PM re. the Progressive stuff, just so you see it first before I posted it here.
I got one recently, need to do a write up at some point. Their customer service is top notch!
They make smaller and much less expensive ones. This was a splurge with an unexpected bonus I earned - wife semi approved.
I've only owned one so far, but the vari v2 72x30 has been great for my gaming station so far.
It's sturdy, has dual motors and was under 900.
How bad is wobble at standing height?
I just ordered the vari 60x30. So thank you!!!
Got mine from dokk.store, but not sure they ship to US though. Stable AF, highly customizable and relatively cheap compared to others.
If you're in the US, fully is probably your best chance right now.. 30% off plus 10% discount code (ohana10) was still good this past weekend.. for a total of 37% off the Remy or Jarvis. For a moderate size that's roughly $300-$500, or the same price as the cheap stuff on Amazon
I built myself a desk on a USM KITOS frame. It's a modular system for office desks by the same Swiss company that produces USM Haller modular furniture, the KITOS system has been around since the 1980s. They're built extremely sturdy (think steel tube held together with M12 bolts) and have a few manual and electric sit-stand options. In my case I got a tiltable sit-stand frame from an architectural office, and the arm and leg extension from a bank. Because the system is modular, you can build them in arbitrary sizes and shapes, you see them regularly as L-shaped desks, as coffee tables on a single column, and as hexagonal and oval conference tables.
I'm 5'11'' looking for a standing desk for productivity and general use. Can you recommend one that is electric with the control pannel to rise and lower it? I don't want it "gaming" themed like many are, just a run of the mill sturdy desk. Open to most brands and materials just let me know what work for you thanks.
I got an Ikea electric sit/stand desk leg set, and chose a different desk top for it. So far, I love it and it didn't break the bank. I chose a solid wood butcher-block top and just screwed the legs on.
If money isn’t an issue I’d recommend you build your own. Order a set of standing legs from Amazon, I recommend Huanuo or Vivo, and then get a piece of butcher block counter top from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Looks infinitely nicer and is infinitely more sturdy than any of the ones you’d order with the cheap particle board veneer tops.
100%... I posted before I read your post. I second this, I did a similar thing but got it all from Ikea. Not sure Ikea still produces the butcher-block top anymore though. When I got mine, they did and it worked great.
Aside from the sturdiness I didn’t like how small all the premade options were. I bought an 8ft butcher block top for my desk.
Secretlab Magnus Pro XL. It's a gaming desk but it can also work as a regular desk. It's not heavily branded or stylized.
Depending on your budget and country your in. Personally I went with a company called desky and well just down the road from me so was a no trainer though I did have to pay more compared to other amazon or others but I liked the variety of woods and colours though you can always get one of those kitchen bench top and screw it on some frames.
As per WireCutter's recommendation, the Uplift V2 and Fully Jarvis stand out as the top choices for standing desks. Do you share this opinion, or do you have a different perspective?
I read few threads here, people are also fond of flexispot, vivo electric etc.
If so, what, in your view, makes a standing desk the best, and which model do you consider to be the ultimate choice?
That post has only three recommendations and barely any upvotes.
I was thinking Vari but was wondering if people have other recommendation
Fully.com. Really nice products priced appropriately. I have the Capsico chair and their widest /tallest standing desk in black laminate.. I’m 6’6” and it was the brand that would actually accommodate my standing height. Life changing.
Agree about Fully! I got their desk because I'm on the opposite end (5'3") and the desk goes even lower than what I need when sitting.
I work in IT, 2 laptops and 3 monitors on arms across the whole thing. Sprung for the extra plugs and have a nice power brick clamped on.
Just get stand alone standing desk legs (like here) and any slab of wood you want. It only took me a few hours to build once I had the bits and I have never built anything in my life.
Here is my desk: (random pic, was showing a friend how I was reorganising stuff).
I have a Varidesk. It’s very sturdy. The one I have is extremely heavy.
Really happy with my Uplift two years in. Thing is a tank, great design, lots of options, solid company. Maybe a bit more than a basic but I bought this as my second after my other brand crapped out with no replacement parts.
+1
Can confirm they stand behind their warranty - I ordered a rubberwood top for mine that cracked ~3 months in and I got my new top 2 days after emailing them.
Sames. Had a somewhat minor issue and they FedExed parts the next day to fix it. Didn’t pay attention to their 15 year warranty when I got it. Nice to have though.
I ended up getting an adjustable height Husky work table from Home Depot. Half the price and twice as sturdy. The tabletop is a 1 inch thick slab of wood.
Second the husky work table. I did the exact same thing. It may also have a lifetime warranty (many husky products do)
That's why I got rid of mine, TBH.
Too big/heavy.
Will be investing in replacing the whole desk instead.
Which standing desk do you have for WFH currently? Please recommend yours, regardless of price, if you've tried and found really worth it and i'm willing to investing in.
Stoked to see our Duo on the list! You’re definitely right about measuring your standing height beforehand— something that people don’t always account for is you might want to get a mat as well to make standing more comfortable. It usually doesn’t add a lot of height but it’s worth thinking about (and shopping for if your feet or back get fatigued from standing).
I am not sure of the best, but I made one with a mono price stand and Home Depot wood block, It has been pretty good for my use

Nice setup. How’s that sharp edge on your arms? Did you consider using a round over router bit on it to smooth it out? Or is it not a big deal in terms of digging into your forearms?
Honestly? None. Standing desks are not better for your health like was claimed, and in fact can be worse. Set a timer every 30 minutes to stand and stretch, then sit back down. That is better for your health than a standing desk will ever be and it’s free.

I’ve had an uplift for a couple years - I have an L-shaped desk.
I stand quite a bit during the day so I’ve loved having it.
Does anyone here use a standing desk in your home office? Is it actually worth your money?
I'm quite curious what it's like to use a standing desk and want to invest in a new one and i'm willing to pay for it. So which brands or company would you recommend I look into?
Thanks.
Flexispot is what I have. Works fine. Get an anti-fatigue mat for standing.
It's the E7 model, isnt it?
r/StandingDesk
Go on Facebook marketplace and search for flexispot. If you’re anywhere near a big city chances are there is a pallet wholesaler near you and flexispot closes out models like crazy. People around me (small city) buy pallets of tops and pallets of bases for $100-300 per pallet and each pallet has 15-20 units on them, and bases and tops all match up with flexispot (except for a few niche models). So they resell them as complete desks for $75-150 each and make a healthy profit. I got an E7 pro with black top for $100. Retail is around $700.
Vari desk
I have a Vari standing desk and it is great
best brand of standing desks?
Key Considerations for Choosing a Standing Desk Brand:
Build Quality: Look for brands that use durable materials, such as solid wood or high-quality metal frames, to ensure longevity.
Stability: A good standing desk should remain stable at all heights. Check for brands that offer a sturdy design to prevent wobbling.
Height Adjustment Range: Ensure the desk can accommodate a wide range of heights for both sitting and standing positions, ideally adjustable from around 24 to 50 inches.
Ease of Assembly: Some brands offer easy-to-assemble desks with clear instructions, which can save you time and frustration.
Warranty and Customer Support: Brands that provide a solid warranty (at least 5 years) and responsive customer support can give you peace of mind.
Top Brands to Consider:
Uplift Desk: Known for its stability, wide range of customization options, and excellent warranty (15 years). It’s highly rated for both design and functionality.
Fully Jarvis: Offers a variety of sizes and finishes, with a strong focus on eco-friendly materials. The Jarvis is praised for its smooth height adjustment and solid build.
Flexispot: Provides affordable options without compromising on quality. They offer a good range of features and solid performance.
Vari: Known for its easy assembly and solid construction, Vari desks are user-friendly and come with a 5-year warranty.
Recommendation: If you're looking for a balance of quality, features, and price, the Uplift Desk is often regarded as the best overall choice. However, if you're on a budget, consider Flexispot for a reliable option that won't break the bank.
