Best Carpet Stain Remover

TL;DR

  • Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover is highly recommended for its effectiveness and affordability [5:1].
  • Nature's Miracle (red bottle) is praised for pet-related stains [4:1].

Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover

Folex has garnered numerous positive reviews for its ability to tackle tough stains effortlessly. Users have found it particularly effective on a variety of stains including pet accidents, wine spills, and even auto detailing challenges [5:1]. The product is available at Home Depot for under $20 per gallon, making it an economical choice compared to other options [5:4]. Many users also appreciate its versatility, using it not only on carpets but also on laundry without any issues [5:7].

Nature's Miracle

For pet owners, Nature's Miracle (specifically the red bottle) is highly recommended due to its enzymatic formula that breaks down urine and other organic stains, preventing repeat offenses by pets [4:1]. This product is particularly useful for those dealing with frequent pet accidents and can save money on potential damage deposits.

Spot & Blot

Spot & Blot is another product mentioned for its effectiveness in quickly removing stains, especially those that have been sitting for a while [3]. It is favored for its quick action and ease of use, making it a handy option for immediate stain treatment [1:1].

Other Recommendations

Several other products were noted for their general use and effectiveness:

  • Bissell carpet cleaning solution concentrate was highlighted for its ability to remove stains when applied directly with a wet cloth [2:1].
  • Woolite carpet and upholstery cleaner, known for its convenience with a built-in brush, is favored for smaller stains and upholstery [2:2].
  • Whip-it Cleaner was briefly mentioned as another option [2:3].

Overall, the choice of carpet stain remover may depend on specific needs such as the type of stain, frequency of use, and budget. For pet owners or those dealing with persistent stains, products like Nature's Miracle and Folex are top contenders.

ORIGINAL POST

As someone who's dealt with countless carpet stains over the years, I've learned that having the right carpet cleaner can make all the difference. After trying numerous products and machines, I want to share what actually works for removing tough stains.

I recently discovered an amazing carpet cleaner that's completely changed how I handle spills and stains. You can check it out here: https://explorehomedeals.com/Carpet-Cleaner

The key to effective stain removal isn't just about the cleaning solution – it's about having a machine that can really get deep into the carpet fibers. Most rental machines from grocery stores just don't cut it. They often leave carpets wet for days and don't have enough suction power to remove deep-set stains.

I've found that the best carpet cleaners have:

  • Strong suction power
  • Heated cleaning technology
  • Large water tanks
  • Multiple brush rolls
  • Separate clean/dirty water containers

These features are essential because they help break down stubborn stains while preventing the growth of mold and mildew. Plus, they ensure your carpet dries faster.

For pet owners like me, enzymatic cleaners are a must-have. They break down organic stains and eliminate odors instead of just masking them. When combined with a good carpet cleaning machine, they're unbeatable for removing pet accidents, food spills, and wine stains.

Speaking from experience, investing in your own carpet cleaner saves money in the long run. Professional cleaning services can cost hundreds per visit, while having your own machine lets you tackle stains immediately before they set in.

If you're interested in getting a reliable carpet cleaner, I highly recommend checking out the options available here: https://explorehomedeals.com/Carpet-Cleaner. They have various models suitable for different needs and budgets.

Remember to always test any cleaning solution on a small, hidden area first. Also, regular maintenance cleaning (even without visible stains) helps extend your carpet's life and keeps it looking fresh.

The most important thing I've learned is that quick action matters most with stains. Having your own carpet cleaner means you can tackle spills immediately, which dramatically improves your chances of complete stain removal.

I've found using an encap spot remover is super handy when you want to get a stain out quickly. Been using Spot & Blot for a while and it's been awesome.

Nothing serious, just what you keep around to treat stains as they happen. Pet accidents / kid vomit / things like this. One of our toddlers recently had a pretty gnarly stomach bug and threw up a bunch of red pedialyte.

We’ve had “Incredible!” for awhile which has worked pretty well (not a fan of the pour tip top) but I’m curious if you experts have other ideas.

Woolite carpet and upholstery cleaner- the one with the green plastic brush thing on top- is my favorite for basic staining. I love it for my living room chair arms, but I’ve successfully used it on many smaller carpet stains, too.

I use the Bissell carpet cleaning solution concentrate meant for the industrial ones you rent from Lowe’s. I put a tiny bit on a wet cloth and it’s taken every stain out so far without ruining the carpet.

I don’t remember the specific name but It was sold right next to the rentals at Lowe’s. I remember it said only to use it with the big rental carpet cleaner machines but that didnt stop me from using it everywhere lol

I was super nervous when I came across this stain in a clients home. Since it was such a dark stain and she said it had been sitting for about 2 weeks or so. But it came right out with this Spot & Blot product. Super impressed and would definitely recommend.

Best carpet stain remover?

Posted by csb114 · in r/puppy101 · 5 years ago

My 10 week old mal/GSD shit in the carpet last night. And she’s had (TMI) soft shits that are worrying me. Well we were sleeping and she did the deed and then stepped in it, creating extra stains. This is the ONLY room in the apartment with carpet and we can’t afford to pay to replace it. What are the best stain removers for this kind of thing? I’d rather spend $30-40 on a cleaner than replace the carpet.

We’re working on crate training, but sometimes it’s just easier to put her in bed with us. Easier on our ears and neighbors.

I've been using Nature's Miracle - the red bottle - and never looked back. The red bottle has some enzyme that breaks down urine so dogs don't want to pee there again. My old dog had a pretty temperamental stomach and that stuff saved me a lot in damage deposits.

I rarely have a raving endorsement of products, after all I buy something because I expect it to work for the purpose it's advertised for. It's kind of the agreement under which they get my money.

But Folex seems to get headscratchingly good results on the worst of stains when so many other shampoos and spot cleaners simply make the stain less apparent, but don't remove it.

I have dogs, kids, and do auto detailing and I have yet to find a stain that couldn't be lifted with Folex, a bristle brush, and a few towels for blotting. It's so satisfying, I kind of get excited now when I find a new stain to tackle.

Rent a rug Dr and extract it with only fresh water 5 times and leave it be. Run for your life! The soap you originally sprayed will remain however all the dirt and grime will be gone and the carpet will appear perfect. As the days and weeks go on they will get dirty again in the same exact “soap” area. You’ll be long gone. Carpet cleaner. 25 years. Good luck

Secret Weapon: Goop.

Way under the radar. Never had something it couldn’t handle. Originally developed as a waterless hand cleaner for mechanics. Turns out it’s amazing on laundry stains. Best part is it isn’t hard on clothes. So if you stain something, you can rub Goop into it, chuck it in the hamper, leave it for a week, and then wash it. (Sometimes even works better that way.)

If the stains come from people, animals or plant matter, or anything they can eat or drink, pick one of these:

  • Puracy Stain Remover
  • Tide Rescue (discontinued, but old formula is still in the marketplace - you want the bottle with RESCUE on the front label)
  • Melaleuca Pre-Spot Gel or Prespot 4X spray
  • Sprouts Laundry Stain Remover
  • Dad Mode
  • 365 By Whole Foods Stain Remover

Any of them work well. Spray, wait at least a half hour, wash as usual.

If your usual stains aren’t from these sources, there may be better choices.

theblartknight · OP · 5 days ago

It’s mostly food related. Avocado, oil, tomato, etc…

I recently picked up a bottle of the Sprouts stain remover on your recommendation and wow am I impressed. I had a tea towel that had raspberries and blackberries all over it and it had sat stained for a while. I sprayed it with the spray, let it sit about an hour before throwing it in my normal hot towel load. Came out perfectly clean. No stains. I also wanted to note to people that this spray does not have a scent which I found particularly nice since some stain remover sprays are heavily fragranced.

1 part Dawn dishwashing liquid to 2 parts Hydrogen Peroxide. Store in dark, glass spray bottle.

Apply to stain for at least 10 minutes prior to washing, longer if need be, for tougher stains. Launder as usual and watch your stains disappear! Best stain remover ever and it costs pennies to make. Another great benefit is that it’s biodegradable!

Dawn covers all the grease stains and hydrogen peroxide covers all the organic ones. That’s likely a broader range of stains than a commercial product would be effective for.

You can also make a GREAT bathroom cleaner or countertop cleaner using the same ingredients, plus water:

1 part hot water 3 drops of Dawn (swirl to mix in the Dawn) 2 parts 3% Hydrogen Peroxide

Spray your shower or bathtub after each use to keep it sparklingly clean! No need to scrub or wipe off.

No, it won’t. I’ve used 3% Hydrogen peroxide on all types of household materials, let it sit for 24 hours and have yet to see anything discolored. I use straight 3% hydrogen peroxide on my wood floors without ever having an unwanted reaction, too. Chlorine bleach is quite a different story though.

For the naysayers: Nitpick all you want, but this is an old remedy that’s proven effective. It doesn’t cause white spots on clothing and it’s a safe treatment (biodegradable too). Seriously, if you’re really bent on arguing about a stain remover, maybe you should make your own post about what’s better. I try to pass on something that’s been so great for my family and so many others …and I get nonsense here. If you don’t like this method, move on. If it doesn’t apply to your stains, move on, but don’t insert negativity about a simple remedy.

AI Answer

best carpet stain remover

Key Considerations for Choosing a Carpet Stain Remover:

  1. Type of Stain: Identify the type of stain (e.g., food, pet, ink) as some removers are specifically formulated for certain stains.

  2. Ingredients: Look for enzymatic cleaners for organic stains (like pet messes) as they break down the stain at a molecular level. Avoid harsh chemicals if you have pets or children.

  3. Ease of Use: Choose a product that is easy to apply, whether it's a spray, foam, or liquid. Some products come with built-in applicators for convenience.

  4. Drying Time: Consider how quickly the product dries. Quick-drying formulas can help prevent re-soiling.

  5. Safety: Ensure the product is safe for your carpet type and check for any certifications (like Green Seal) if you're concerned about environmental impact.

Recommendations:

  • Bissell Professional Stain & Odor Remover: Excellent for pet stains and odors, this enzymatic cleaner works effectively on a variety of stains and is safe for most carpets.

  • Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover: A versatile and non-toxic option that works on many types of stains, including grease and ink. It doesn't require rinsing and dries quickly.

  • Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover: Another great choice for pet owners, this product uses natural enzymes to tackle tough stains and odors.

Takeaway: Always test a small, inconspicuous area of your carpet first to ensure compatibility with the stain remover. Regular maintenance and prompt action on stains will help keep your carpets looking their best.
