TL;DR There are no direct mentions of college cheerleading teams in the discussions provided. However, some insights can be drawn from related topics such as sports rankings and team performances.
Sports Rankings and Team Performances
While the discussions primarily focus on football and wrestling standings, they do highlight schools with strong athletic programs. For instance, North Dakota State and Montana State are ranked highly in the FCS poll [1]. Such schools often have robust cheerleading programs to support their athletic teams.
Athletic Conferences and Standings
The NCAA Division I Dual Meet Standings discussion provides insight into how schools perform across different conferences [5]. Schools like North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Virginia Tech finishing in a tie for first may indicate strong overall athletic programs, including cheerleading.
Team Spirit and Support
Cheerleading teams are integral to fostering school spirit and supporting athletic teams during competitions. The enthusiasm seen in discussions about dual meets and team rankings suggests that schools with competitive sports teams likely have dedicated cheerleading squads [5:5]
[5:6].
Potential Recommendations
For those interested in exploring top cheerleading teams, consider researching schools known for their athletic prowess, such as those mentioned in the FCS poll or NCAA standings. Additionally, schools with strong football or basketball programs often have prominent cheerleading teams due to the visibility and support these sports receive.
That’s alota Dakota!
Had North Dakota not collapsed and reeled off 5 straight losses, there could be one more. They peaked at No. 7 before their collapse.
NDSU might be pretty good
A million to 2 in the MonDak bowl, really
8. Arizona State: The Sun Devils bring almost everyone back from a CFP quarterfinals run, and talented back Kanye Udoh replaces Cam Skattebo.
18. Utah: My pick for a big bounceback year, behind one of the best offensive lines in college football and New Mexico transfer QB Devon Dampier.
21. Kansas State: Quarterback Avery Johnson has playmakers around him, but a new offensive line will have to hold up.
24. Texas Tech: Will importing a highly ranked and very expensive transfer class full of linemen get the Red Raiders to the Big 12 title game for the first time?
27. Iowa State: QB Rocco Becht must find new favorite receivers, but the Cyclones return a ton from a team that reached the Big 12 title game.
28. Baylor: QB Sawyer Robertson and RB Bryson Washington could make this one of the best offenses in the Big 12.
32. BYU: The summer departure of QB Jake Retzlaff drops the Cougars from a Big 12 favorite to a step below that for now, but plenty of production returns.
35. TCU: QB Josh Hoover was very good last year, and if an experienced defense can take another step forward, TCU could be back in the Big 12 title picture.
36. Kansas: Can QB Jalon Daniels make it through a season healthy? The defense should be good, and Kansas needs to flip last year’s 1-5 record in one-score games.
51. Colorado: Losing Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders is obviously big, but Deion Sanders has built some depth in this program, and the defense took a big step forward a year ago.
67. Cincinnati: This should be coach Scott Satterfield’s most talented team, but there are no easy weeks in the Big 12.
68. Oklahoma State: I’m banking on a Mike Gundy turnaround, even though all the faces around him are new.
69. West Virginia: Rich Rodriguez has a deep group of running backs for his offense, but the line could be a major problem.
74. Houston: QB Conner Weigman must invigorate an offense to help a defense that is improving.
77. Arizona: Coach Brent Brennan overhauled both sides of the ball around returning QB Noah Fifita and believes he has a better plan for Year 2.
82. UCF: The defense could be solid, but the season will depend on who wins the quarterback job.
I’ll take the over.
Udoh might not even be the "starter" either Sipp might be the starter or there'll be a 40/40/20 split between them and Raleek
:(
His writing detail for OSU is lazy IMO. Optimistic for Oklahoma State, lists not a single weakness, then describes a distinct hole for West Virginia in the next spot.

Utah State (high 106, low 120) goes into their last year in the Mountain West as the 10th ranked team. They don't return a lot of production (ranked 124th, with very little coming back on the offensive side of the ball) with the 88th ranked 2025 recruiting class (4th in the MWC) and the 118th ranked transfer portal class (8th in the MWC) which translates into the 112th best overall incoming class, suggesting a stretch to improve on last year's 4-8 season, though the schedule, with 3 teams ranked below them plus FCS McNeese, suggests that record should be a floor, and Bronco Mendenhall should be an upgrade and provide stability after the firing of Blake Anderson.
Can’t wait until you get to number 1 and it’s Nebraska!!!!1!11!!
Most people outside of Oklahoma & Colorado are rooting for y’all! 🌽
Nah man. Ou fans want to see Nebraska win every game except the one we play against each other.
I'm very curious to see how Bronco does. I'm glad we don't play them because I'm tired of losing QBs
I thought he was a lock for us during our recent HC search. Excited to see what he does for the Aggies
Really excited for this year hoping we go 7-5
The fact that Bronco Mendenhall had New Mexico on the cusp of bowl eligibility in his first year makes me believe 7 wins could be doable for you guys this year. He's a solid coach. Give it another year or two under him, and I could see you guys consistently winning 8 games a season.
I think that's a strong possibility.
Bronco knows how to build a program, excited to see Utah St develop
Every day I will look at this and say "whew"... until I see my team's name..
Notes:
Results are based on conference and/or school websites through March 1, 2025
Click on the picture to see the entire list of standings (looks like ACC, Big Ten, and MAC are cut off on mobile)
ACC, Big Ten, EIWA, Ivy League, MAC, and SoCon standings updated via conference websites; Big 12 and Pac-12 standings created from results on individual schools’ websites. Some school and/or conference websites are updated faster than others
North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Virginia Tech finish in a 3-team tie for first - each team went 1-1 against the other two. Not sure if there are any further ACC tiebreakers or what they are if so
Campbell has tiebreaker over App State due to head-to-head result
Navy has tiebreaker over Lehigh due to head-to-head result
Central Michigan has tiebreaker over NIU due to head-to-head result
Ahhh yesss, Little Rock. A school known for its proximity to the pacific
We might see NIU in the Pac-12 starting 2026 if the MAC doesn’t allow them to stay in the MAC for wrestling (they leave for the Horizon League in 2026).
NIU is joining the Mountain West for football. It might wrestle in the Big 12 with Air Force and Wyoming, the other MW schools with wrestling.
Cleveland State is in the Horizon and wrestles in the MAC (but is dropping wrestling). I don’t think any other Horizon school has wrestling.
I don’t think any of the schools joining the Pac-12 has wrestling. I wonder if Pac-12 wrestling will try to take some schools from the Big 12 or just join the Big 12.
It's still better than Stanford in the Atlantic Coast Conference
In the Big 12, South Dakota State lost to UNI twice but only counted one of them as a conference loss. SDSU also lost to Iowa State and didn’t wrestle Oklahoma State. (ISU lost to UNI and OSU.)
No one cares about third place in the Big 12 but I was curious and went down the rabbit hole so I’m posting what I found.
Thanks again for posting these every week.
UNI and South Dakota State were scheduled to wrestle their conference dual meet in November.
Later on at the NWCA National Duals, they met up in the title match against UNI again. Since it wasn’t part of the conference dual meet schedule and was part of a dual meet tournament, it is considered non-conference dual meet result.
It’s not the only sport this takes place in - every 1-3 years, you’ll see something like a couple of ACC schools won’t be scheduled to play each other in a season, they’ll actually go ahead and schedule each other on their own to play that season, and it counts as a non-conference result since it’s not part of the ACC schedule. We’ve seen similar instances with Big 12 football before as well.
Nothing nefarious - it’s the same as if SDSU wrestled someone else in the NWCA finals instead of UNI.
Thanks for the info.
I didn’t mean to imply that it was nefarious. I just thought it was interesting.
I like the perfect round-robins that are impossible in the larger conferences.
I find it strange that the Big 12 teams list 8, 9, or 10 conference results. I looked at a few of their websites (OSU, Wyo., WVU) and I couldn’t find any inclusion of results from non-conference duals against conference opponents. (Wyoming wrestled No. Colo. twice but didn’t include the dual at the UNI tournament in their conference results.)
Really wished the NCAA did a dual team national title alongside the traditional points team title as well.
Get the 8 regular season conference champs (EIWA & MAC have their division champs wrestle off for their respective spots), & 8 at-larges (assuming would be some combinations of team rankings would decide the 8). Don't know if you'd go straight knockout bracket or seeded pools of 4 w/ the pool winners advancing to semis/finals.
Yeah I would love a dual team national title as well. Singles tournaments are fun, but there is something special about duals. Especially when it’s those situations like where you need a pin to win a dual and it changes how a guy has to wrestle to try and win it for the team.
You can get drama in both, but duals IMO have added elements you can't get in a individual tournament. Get down to 1-2 matches left & need a win by pin. Take gambles with your lineup, bump a guy up a weight class to get a favorable matchup or try to nullify an advantage the opponent would have otherwise.
Michigan has fallen off a cliff.

IT’S JULY 23rd! WE’RE EXACTLY 1 MONTH FROM THE KICKOFF OF THE 2025 SEASON!!!
Baylor (high = 18, low = 37) comes in at #31 and the 6th highest ranked team in the Big XII. It seems impossible to believe that Dave Aranda is entering his 6th season in charge in Waco after posting an 8-5 record in 2024 that saw them drop a back breaking Hail Mary game to Colorado on a Shedeur Sanders Hail Mary, rattle off a 6 game win streak to end the season and then drop the Texas Bowl to LSU to wrap up just his second winning season in 5 years. Though his seat’s not exactly hot, it’s not exactly cold, either, and if 2025 isn’t successful the Bears might want to revisit Memphis’ $200MM offer to help defray Aranda’s buyout.
Roster outlook
Baylor returns the 11th most production in all of FBS, with top 25 classes on both sides of the ball. Sawyer Robertson and his 3,000 yards passing and 28 TDs is back at QB, as is 1,000 yard rusher Bryson Washington and Robertson’s two top receiving targets Josh Cameron and Ashtyn Hawkins. With that much coming back, Aranda focused more on the future, corralling the 3rd best recruiting class in the conference (37th nationally) and only adding a few key players via the portal (good for 9th in the Big XII) like Bama WR Kobe Prentice and a few defensive starters (Oregon LB Emar'rion Winston and Tulane edge Matthew Fobbs-White). Continuity will be key, and the Bears bring back both Jake Spavital as OC and Matt Powledge as DC.
Schedule and outlook
Things could really get spicy for Baylor right out of the gate. They open at home against Auburn, then go to ACC runner-up and CFP team SMU. Win both of those and the Bears are certain to be ranked going into their Big XII opener against defending champs Arizona State. But if things go south and they exit week 4 1-3, the rumblings on SicEm365 will be unbearable. The rest of the schedule has a number of games against teams projected at the bottom of the conference (at Oklahoma State, at Cincinnati, UCF, at Arizona and Houston) that Baylor’s almost assured of another winning season, but barely topping .500 will not likely satisfy the fanbase.
There are a lot of interesting teams in the Big XII, but Baylor may be one of the most interesting. And the best thing is that we'll learn very quickly if they are for real or not.
That ASU-Baylor game could be an early preview of the Big 12 championship. We've never played there but Waco seems like it can be a scary place to play.
ASU has a lot of such games this year.
Over six consecutive weeks, four or five teams that could be in the Big XII championship.
It’s for sure the most anticipated opening game for us since the stadium opened in 2014. Probably the most anticipated opening game period since Miami in 1997 (yes, even more anticipated than 2011 TCU). Even I have no idea how wired the crowd is going to be, and I’ve seen some crowds.
McLane's kind of a funky stadium, it was mostly build for the fan experience.
It's super tall, but on a relatively small footprint because it's on this spit of river basin land right between I-35 and a Brazos inlet that we now use as a marina for sailgating on game days. So the three levels of the stadium go basically straight up, and you're looking right down on the game. That means that when the sun is straight overhead for noon games, the second level is entirely shaded, most of the first level is shaded, and even a good chunk of the top level is shaded because there's a wraparound roof. The A/C and WiFi at the stadium are awesome, but the field is actually a bit below grade, so the breezes off the Brazos and the cool air coming off the concourses go straight over the field. The playing surface temp regularly gets up to 110+ degrees, with an all-time high of 119 for the 2019 Iowa State game.
The most notable thing we hear about it from opposing teams' coaches and players is that it's claustrophobic to play in at nights and shockingly hot during the day. It's not one of those stadiums like Bryant-Denny or DKR, where you look out and it's a sea of the opposing team's colors for hundreds of feet in every direction; McLane is more like a very deep lake, going straight up above your head about 120'.
One notable thing is that some non-Texan teams occasionally forget to get their sideline tents approved beforehand by the NCAA officials when they come down to central Texas in September, and they basically just bake on the sidelines. Iowa State found that out the hard way back when they were in town in 2019 for that nuclear-hot game.
Wishing y’all the very, very, VERY best in your season opener GO BEARS
In the same vein...I would like to throw in there a HUGE WAR EAGLE!!!
Auburn fans should view it this way: the quicker Hugh crashes out, the quicker they can fire him and move on.
This is one team that I keep forgetting is going to be good. That offense was elite when it was clicking and I trust Aranda to get that defense back into shape with those good transfers. Big 12 contenders for sure. I think some SEC loyalists think Auburn is gonna roll into Waco and take care of them, and I don't think that's the case at all. Having Auburn, KSU, and ASU all at home is clutch.
Yeah no Auburn ain’t doing jack shit🤣
Prediction: Auburn 17, Baylor 45
Time to post my favorite Baylor-related song: Don’t Let Me Die in Waco
> > But if things go south and they exit week 4 1-3, the rumblings on SicEm365 will be unbearable.
While starting a season 1-3 would suck a lot, that’s very a tough opening slate
It’s too early in the day for these kinds of dad jokes
Hi all, i’m currently 20 I stopped cheering right after high school and really talked myself out of joining my college team for a while. This next season i’ll be a senior so i wanted to see what are my chances of making the team as a senior as i know they have their returners and tumbling requirements. I’m planning on going to an open gym until tryouts to see what I still have and perfect everything else, but only if I think there’s a chance for me since this is the last year😭😭 thanks in advanced!!
IMO if you have the skills you can make the team. Hard stop. They’re not going to turn down someone because they can only stay a year if you are more skilled than someone else. Might be different at less competitive places. If they turn you down for that reason, take it as a good thing and a bullet dodged. At every school I’ve gone to seniority wasn’t taken into consideration at all.
Obviously there’s differences depending on where you go, so your best bet would just be to ask someone who cheers there or the coach.
It is tough being a senior. Many teams want underclassmen for the longevity of their team. I personally experienced this at college tryouts, where I was way better than many of the girls they chose that were freshmen. But I was a junior and also way older than most of the girls by at least 5 years ( took a break from school for a couple years to travel, then went to community College, then transfered to Uni...) So while not all is lost, it is a factor that you need to know about because you just may have the skill, but not the longevity the team is looking for. I still think you should go for it because you never know!
thank you for letting me know😭😭 it’s a little hard to hear but everything helps IMO!! i know my friend made the team last year as a junior so i’m hopeful in some ways, thank you for responding!!
Well, it's been another great year here in the community. Congrats to the UConn Huskies, winning the National Championship yesterday in record fashion! Now, we cast our final ballots of the year and see how the Top 25 Poll ends out this season.
CLICK HERE to cast your ballot. We’ll close the poll down tomorrow at 11pm (EST). If we have a question or a mistake we’d like to fix with your ballot, we may reach out to you via PM. We hope to get a timely response so we can correct any ballot and have it included. Thank you for being such a consistent and great group of voters this year and we hope you'll be back to start next season all over again!
Score = academic ranking divided by conference wins. (Lower the better)
Northwestern (3)
Michigan (4.2)
UCLA (5)
Illinois (5.5)
Ohio State (5.8)
USC (6.8)
Penn State (7.9)
Indiana (9.1)
Rutgers (10.3)
Minnesota (10.8)
Washington (11.5)
Oregon (12.1)
Wisconsin (13)
Iowa (16.3)
Michigan State (21)
Maryland (44)
Nebraska (50.1)
Purdue (92) >! (gave Purdue 0.5 wins otherwise their score would be infinity. they did take Illinois to OT so there’s that) !<
You should make a table | academic rank | conference wins |
To give a better idea of what we're looking at. Also would be nice to have more metrics.
This is very casual and unscientific, don’t take this seriously
I'm docking Rutgers academic points for this. Can we get a Northwestern fan on this?
So, in other words, you took the time to calculate and post a meaningless statistic and ranking.
Yeah, a few of these numbers still have me scratching my head.
Oregon's ranking has me confused
Ohio State loses to Michigan again. Sad!
Not sure how serious this is trying to be but you don't want to use ordinal data (rankings) in an equation like this as the intervals between ranking are irregular, so the data is misleading at best.
look at me king of the castle, king of the castle
Would that I could pass you a Burger King crown...
Me, seeing us at #10: This list is some bullshit.
Me, noticing we’re comfortably clear of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska: It’s okay.
Not sure if anyone cares but it’s always interesting to see where the athletes end up.
Maddy Brum is back on tech along with James Thomas (navarro alum) and is joined by like 8 navarro athletes lol (Aliyah Clark, Kennedy Robinson, Deidra Juarez, Katie Evans, Peyton Pierce, Devan Jones, Alex Bouhuys & Brock Donald). Benji from tvcc also made it and so did Diamond Myles who also went to tvcc, not sure if anyone knows her but she was on a lot of well known allstar teams too.
Paige & Oliver from navarro are off to weber, and like half of last years tvcc team also got in (saw pictures of Dee from cheer & Hailey D’lynn with the newest group of athletes so think they got in). Assuming Bailee, Gillian etc all made it too considering they have previously been on the team so it will be really interesting to see what happens when they have so many incredible new flyers!
Some of the lesser known athletes from both teams are off to University of Kentucky, University of South Florida & University of Louisville which are all good schools.
Awww I went to USF. so fun to see someone who got in there!!
Obsessed w college cheer but Bama cheer has my heart.
I had never heard of Weber until I saw all these people get in there
NGL watching Cheer got me low key obsessed with college cheer. Looks so fun! Have to admit it's prob cause the All Star system is kind of confusing to an outsider 😅
Weber especially seem like they have a great time together and so supportive of each other. I'm not surprised they recruited more flyers - they've had a few key people graduate this year like Elsa H and Alex L.
Weber are great. Elsa is one of my favorite ever flyers so it was sad to see her leave. I really like the look of this new group of Weber athletes so will be following them a lot closer than I was in previous years.
She's so talented! And such an amazing record - was great to see her win partner stunt in her last year too.
Do we know if Ladarius made Weber? I think he was at tryouts
I thought Weber put out a statement saying he was invited to tryout but that’s as far as he got?
I didn’t see him in any pictures or videos so i’m not sure if he tried out.
Not sure but I wonder if his USASF ban is affecting that
Why does he have a USASF ban?
He has it in his bio and it’s his profile pic wearing Weber gear 😅
Anyone know why TT Barker isn’t cheering for tech anymore? Seemed like he abruptly stopped mid season
alleged to have made some really gross comments in the lawsuit by madi lane against navarro and monica
