I am a huge fan of Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and today I tried one two free Super Glow Setting Spray but I am not convinced, it didn't seem to do anything.
Is there anything really good on the market that would be as strong as UD one, but maaaaybe a tad cheaper? Thanks!
I really like NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray!

Thanks for the suggestion! I have tried it and was not super amazed, I have to say. :/
Aw, that's a bummer, it works incredibly well for me. Good luck on your quest! :)
I’ve had really good results with e.l.f!
Thanks!
Thanks! I will check the reviews, it's not available in the EU, though. :(
Not gonna be using physicians formula anymore so would like some recommendations. I saw 100% pure has a primer so I might try it. They don't have setting spray tho. I won't support companies selling in China or with a parent company that tests on animals. Vegan or organic would be cool too but not necessary.
Thanks guy I really appreciate all the suggestions. I'm looking into hard candy, pacifica, and 100% pure
I’m using Pacifica Cherry Matte Setting Spray and Tarte Base Tape at the moment.
Hey I just have a question I bought the Pacifica Cherry matte setting spray and the nozzle is mostly spraying the spray in a straight line instead of a fine mist. Is this normal did u change your nozzle?
This is my first bottle too, but I have noticed the spray being different than what I’ve used in the past. I do feel like I have to use more of it than I would if it had a wider spray radius. I guess it’s normal, if I had another nozzle that fit I would change it but I don’t think I do.
I also don’t like the way it feels on my lips if I forget to cover them.
I didn't know pacifica had one !! I'm gonna have a look Ty
I love Milani Make it Last setting spray (this is natural finish, they also have matte and dewy, all of which are CF and vegan).
I use and love several primers from elf including the poreless putty (I’ve only used the original but they also now have matte and luminous), hydrating primer stick, and color correcting primer (green for me bc I have lots of redness). Love them all and use interchangeably based on how my skin is feeling and what foundation I’m using.
The Becca first light priming filter and Ole Henriksen banana bright face primer are my go-tos. For setting spray, I usually just use a rosewater mist (it doesn’t help the longevity of my makeup much but it does help with hydration and melding the powders together).
I use Elf primers and setting spray and I love them!
I second Elf.
the colourpop pretty fresh setting spray is amazing if you want a dewy finish, i havent tried their primer though.
hi!
the only other post i could find about this was from 2+ years ago, so i figured it was okay to ask.
i have very sensitive oily-combo skin, and i really need a good setting spray that melts powders into my skin and helps with longevity and oil control. however, several of my family members have severe allergies to fragrance which often get aggravated by makeup. the most effective setting spray i've used has been the milani make it last, but the fragrance was way too strong. the only spray i've tried that hasn't caused irritation is the flower beauty seal the deal luminizing setting spray, which has no fragrance apart and just smells slightly of lavender, but unfortunately it leaves my t-zone quite oily and doesn't make my makeup last.
any suggestions would be welcome! i typically stick to drugstore pricing, but at this point i'm willing to shell out for a quality product.
https://www.skinsafeproducts.com/how-skinsafe-works
There is a website called skin safe products. They have these marker that let you know wavy is and isn’t in a product. Kind of like when you see the gluten free or dairy free logos with food.
They have markers that are fragrance free, nickel free, dye free, etc. This what they look like: https://imgur.com/a/yqGzFQC
I searched for setting spray and they have 82 pro listed: https://www.skinsafeproducts.com/search/products?product_name=Setting+spray
I hope this website helps for this and future use!
oh my goodness, that is an amazing resource!! thank you so much, this looks incredibly helpful :D
You’re welcome .. I use it all the time as I have super sensitive skin. I’m sure there are some products they don’t have listed but it seems like aren’t good start point to find products!
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray doesn't have added fragrance!
Whats a good setting spray? I've been using UD, and i like it, but just curious if there's anything better? Has anyone tried the rare beauty setting spray if so how is it?
Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix Hydrating Setting Spray is alcohol free
I swear by the charlotte tilbury setting spray
https://www.charlottetilbury.com/us/product/airbrush-flawless-setting-spray
I was Urban Decay’s ride or die for setting sprays until the Charlotte Tilbury one came out - forever HG and re-buy!
Have you used CT's primer with it? Is it worth it?
I’ve been using Laura Mercier primer, but I’ll switch the Charlotte Tilbury when I run out. I’m also obsessed with her Hollywood Flawless Filter.
I really love Milani's Make it Last setting spray, esp the Make it Dewy one!
Yes! Love the dewy one!
I’ve been using the NYX setting spray for years. I used to use UD setting spray but ultimately the price difference settled that. Give NYX a try, it’s maybe $8.
I also love the NYX matte finish!
UD is basically the only "true" setting spray that I've found on the market. Everything else is a finishing spray, that does little to improve prolonged wear and is more about refreshing the surface layer of your makeup to avoid it looking caked in over the course of the day. I believe it's because setting sprays with alcohol are so drying... That's why I don't use All Nighter every day.
Milani make it last
Without alcohol I'm sorry to say they just don't work as well in prolonging makeup wear.
Suggestions for the strongest setting spray that's fragrance free? I love a dewy look but I'm open to anything that reqlly does a good job and just doesn't look too matte
Have heard good things about the milani dewy setting mist but it's not available on Amazon here in Canada
Thanks in advance
revolution sport fix - keeps you dewy and makes your makeup last longer
I'm between this and the Milan because the prices are similar here and I've been eyeing revolution brand, the only thing is that I've read it's a "fixing spray" not a true setting spray.
Any chance you've tried it and can comment??
i use it evey time i wear makeup and aside from my makeup coming off onto a pillow during the nasty it has great staying power
If you’re open to other retailers, Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, and Well.ca all sell the Milani “Make It Last: Dewy” spray. 😊
I second the Milani Make it Last I love that setting spray. It holds and they make a few versions. I really like them and recommend it. Or e.l.f has a Power Grip Dewy setting spray that I love through this hot summer. Makes my makeup stay on all day.
Is it worth it though? I'm not set on any brand or company I just want the best one
Milani make it last original
I just bought this and the smell is so strong and awful I’m going to have to return it
Literally same. I bought it after all the comments and when I sprayed it I realized it was strongly scented :(
I have tried sooooo many(drugstore and high end) and my absolute favorite is the Milani dewy. But if it's not available to you I would suggest the dewy one from elf though I don't think it's nearly as good as milani.
Revolution has some very heavy duty setting sprays. The Sport Fix one is fragrance free.
I'm googling to find a setting spray and came across this comment. I have super sensitive skin, and this is my go-to.
Makeup revolution sport fix fixing spray
Hell yes! This stuff is basically makeup glue!
Milani Make It Last in natural finish has been my go to for years now. It is great!
Yes! This is my vote.
I've used the marshmallow primer but not the spray and liked it.
My base pre setting spray always comes out very dry, since i bake my face a lot. Therefore I am absolutley amazed by the Elf Power Grip spray.....it's my new holy grail, it makes my base look soooooo dewy (but not greasy although i grease easily) and pretty much like skin.
The micro mist is CHEF’S KISS. I love how it doesn’t glob up in dots. It’s the best!
second Elf Power Grip! I used it for the first time recently, took a midday nap with full makeup lol, & woke up to a perfect non-smudged face! that’s when I knew it was magic
Same. The power grip primer and setting spray works well on my older, dry skin.
A lot of people swear by the Milani Make It Last Original (not the Dewy version), and also the green e.lf. microfine one
I second the original Milani Make It Last!
i feel like i’m the only one that the milani one doesn’t work for 😭 i feel like my makeup is rubbed off by the end of the day. i will say it does melt my makeup together nicely though. what am i doing wronggggg
I currently use the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist, and while I like it, I don’t love it and feel like I could pick up something else next time. I’ve used the urban decay all nighter as well.
One size setting spray…but it is never in stock!!!
Looking at all the haul pics I’d say a majority of people purchased CT setting spray.
Charlotte Tilbury and MILK are my holy grails. I have more oily skin type and nothing moves or slides off when I use them!
yes! i’m so oily and these are the only two setting sprays that works for me.
I should’ve mentioned this in my post, but I have oily skin too. So I’ll definitely check out the CT one
When I really need everything to last, I use the One/Size after my cream products, add my powders, then use the CT
Urban decay to set cream products and Charlotte to set powders
Haha I do the opposite! CT for creams, UD for powders. I’ll try your method next time!
I have no reason except I’ve always used UD and Charlotte is more pricey so should go as finishing touch 😂 I will say tho my make up doesn’t budge
Charlotte Tilbury hands down. It reminds me of how good the Make Up For Ever one was before they reformulated it. Makes my skin glow, but also preserves and prolongs my makeup like none other. Incredible. Worth the money.
I was looking for a MUFE replacement! But sounds like CT is also a good setting spray, vs fixing for MUFE
Charlotte Tilbury for sure
Cruelty free only users- what's your favorite cruelty free setting powder? I'm about to run out of the one I've used for five years before I was cruelty free.
Specifically one that doesn't have flashback and is good for baking.
The one I currently use is the iconic Maybeline Fit Me, I love the consistency. It sits nice it feels nice is not grainy. Also no flashback super important.

I'm about to completely finish the Cover FX loose setting powder I like. I have backups of my long lost love, the peach perfect powder from Too Faced.
Tyyyy
I rlly like the elf prime and stay pressed powder but I have heard some ppl say it's drying? However I have dry to combo skin and I think it does a good job of mattifying without drying :)
I'll check it out thanks
I like the NYX HD finishing presses powder and the matte powder for the summer!
Oo okay thanks
This one.
It really does the trick, cruelty free and also cheap. :)
Oo love the that you included an image!! thank you so much!!!
NTX matte setting spray top tier I also use the nyx marshmallow setting spray when I use that primer and I use that primer w my skin tint bc it’s water based and it works well no complaints.
Omg i just saw this in my local Costco! I will get it next time
Char Tibz - all around good One / Size - best staying power hands down Hourglass - skin like glow, fairly good staying power New Fenty - my rising fave day to day Urban Decay all nighter - not bad MAC fix plus - to me, more of a touch up / makeup refresher type product, not really setting the makeup, just melting it in order to rework it.
Charlotte Tilbury
Urban Decay All Nighter
I like the Laura Geller Spackle Mist and the Mac Fixit-Macy fixit comes in different varieties depending what finish you’re after.
