Dell Alienware AW3425DWM supports Dell display and peripheral manager? and Alienware Command Center support PBP/PIP and KVM?

Posted by kyog47 · in r/Alienware · 12 days ago

does AW3425DWM support dell display and peripheral manager? because i want to use PBP feature and wanted to connect laptop and desktop to this monitor, also want to use KVM etc features if those are supported in this monitor? I know that PBP can be set from on screen display, but display and peripheral manager is much handy.

Also want to know that If I use PBP to connect two PCs and then turn the monitor off and on again, will the PBP settings remain saved, or do I need to set it up every time? Also, if PBP is enabled and I turn off one of the systems, will the monitor automatically switch to full screen for the remaining system, or do I have to manually disable PBP?

Is it possible to change monitor settings like PBP/PIP and KVM directly from the Alienware Command Center?

It's not a KVM. It won't share the USB ports between two computers. It'll support dual display inputs (in fact three inputs), but it won't share the USB ports across multiple.

As for PIP and PBP, those are monitor-internal features and not governed by the software you mention. It'll work with the software, as all Dell and AW monitors will, but the software won't magically add features that need to exist at the hardware level. You'll need to check the specs on Dell's site to see which features it supports...

Thank you, The AW3425DWM monitor does support both PBP and KVM. However, on the download page for this monitor, I don’t see Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM) listed as a download option.

if someone can confirm if it’s still possible to install DDPM for this model, even though it’s not listed?

I know Alienware Command Center is available for download for this monitor, but I haven’t found any information confirming if it can control PBP and KVM settings. DDPM is known to allow these controls on compatible monitors, but since it’s not listed for the AW3425DWM.

DJUnreal · 12 days ago

The software will work even if it isn't listed as an official download. But it categorically will not work as a KVM - KVM stands for Keyboard, Video, Mouse. It will not switch the keyboard or mouse between machines, and thus it absolutely cannot work as a KVM.

DeFi 2025: Best Utility with the Best Token in the Best Wallet

Posted by ZyptoToken · in r/ZyptoToken · 13 days ago

DeFi in 2025 isn’t just about high APYs or overhyped protocols, it’s about real tools, real rewards, and real ownership.

The best platforms today don’t just let you hold tokens, they let you use them across chains and in real life. That means swapping, spending, topping up, and paying, all without giving up custody.

Zypto: The All-in-One DeFi Wallet With Actual Utility

The Zypto App isn’t just a wallet, it’s a complete non-custodial, multichain ecosystem for people who actually use crypto every day.

Here’s what it supports right now:

  • Cross-chain swaps (24,000+ tokens supported)
  • Crypto cards (physical & virtual) for online, in-store, and ATM use
  • Bill payments in 126 countries
  • Mobile top-ups in 170+ countries
  • WLFI, SHIB, PI, BNB, BTC, ETH and other crypto payments
  • HIVE, SOL, BSC, ETH, XRPL, BTC and other Chains integration
  • Pay with crypto ANYWHERE in Brazil and Colombia through PIX and Nequi.
  • External Payments: pay from MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Ledger, OKX Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and other CEX's

No KYC required for core features. No custody. Just control, flexibility, and utility.

And Behind It All: $ZYPTO

Every action you take in the Zypto App contributes to the ZYPs rewards pool that powers the $ZYPTO token.

When you:

  • Swap
  • Top up
  • Pay bills
  • Load your card
  • Use Pix or other integrations

...you’re powering the Zypto ecosystem.

If you hold $ZYPTO and register in the Rewards Hub, you can claim ZYPs daily, with no lockups or staking required.
Then spend those ZYPs back on services, instead of selling your main holdings.

It’s a full-circle reward loop, built around real usage.

If you believe DeFi should be usable, not just talked about, then start with the wallet and token that’s already focused on DeFi.

DYOR, but the difference between speculation and utility has never been clearer.

Best Laptop in the market

If money isn’t an issue, what laptop is currently the best in terms of build quality, display, speakers, and overall luxury or premium feel, assuming they all have the same CPU, GPU, and RAM?

Some people say the Razer Blade 18 or Alienware Area-51 18 are the best, while others swear by the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 or ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18. How would you rank the top five laptops currently available?

lol people will hate this but given the categories listed the 14 or 16 inch MacBook Pro is the best (I’m not a huge fan of apple but the quality of those laptops is crazy good). For windows, I would say the Dell precision 7680 is probably one of the best for the categories listed.

MacBook Pro 16" M4 Pro or Max. Probably doesn't get love here but there is nothing else with the build quality of a MBP. The screen could be improved to match some Windows OLED screens. I have owned MacBooks for almost 30 years and never had one fail mechanically. They do become obsolete eventually but I've had some still working as a viable laptops after 10 years of use.

Performance wise the leaders seem to be Alienware and then Blade. Both use IPS screens.

A ROG Strix with mini-LED screen is a solid pick for the Mini-LED screen tech.

Legion 9 is Lenovo's premium offering, and their only one that is 18". Possibly the most expensive too. I hear mixed feelings about Legion 9s - i.e. they are offered as the premium best of the best but don't really do enough to justify their price increase.

I can't really consider any 16" as the best of the best, if you're looking for best capability without considering portability, if you want portability then obviously that's a different ballgame.

But then I haven't used any of these myself (although I have a Blade 18 2023 model). Watch Mash IT on youtube, he's reviewed most of these, and compared some head to head.

XMG Neo 16/eluktronics HYDROC 16 G2 without a doubt in terms of everything, you can get it with:

Ryzen 9 9955HX3D RTX 5090 64gb 6400mhz QHD+ mini led 300hz display Additional water cooling capability

It's the same laptop that has a 5090 250w shunt mod in GizmoSlipTech video that uses a Prema Mod Bios.

Isn't it a 4k screen? Even a 90 (mobile) will have trouble getting high fps in demanding stuff at 4k right? I'd go for a 1600p screen for my money

A laptop 5090 is like a desktop 5070ti I think I read somewhere. Technically a 4k card but only just if you want max settings and high fps

Be advised that I'm biased due to my recent purchase, but I think the Lenovo Legion line has a lot to offer.

In terms of GPUs, and of course budget depending, I wouldn't go any lower than a 4080 or 5070Ti due to the VRAM. I would also suggest going with 32GB of RAM.

Another thing to think about is what generation of chips to go with. If possible, I would definitely suggest going with the newer generation(s) for both the CPU and GPU, Intel Core Ultra & Nvidia RTX 5k series, respectively. Both architectures, Intel's Arrow Lake and Nvidia's Blackwell, offer pretty solid advances over their predecessors IMO. However, the previous generations and plenty good and there are deals to be had.

Finally, after my recent search, and my purchase being my second gaming machine, I now put a lot of weight on thermals. Performance can vary quite a bit between models that have the same hardware. For example, one of the major reasons I went with the Legion Pro line, is that they are well engineered where you can push virtually full wattage with minimal throttling. I just don't see the point of having the capability on paper, where either the TDP is capped or otherwise ends up endlessly throttling at a sustained full load.

The best card for a laptop is the most efficient at low wattages graphics cards which is currently the GOAT RTX 5060 which has the same power an its desktop counterparts. Don’t listen to plebs who will make you pay thousands of dollars for cut back graphics cards like the 5070ti or 5090 which have less vram and less power than their desktop and boils like a furnace making your laptop a fireball e-waste

Below 5070Ti , the vran is less and after 2 years it will not be able to play latest games properly. At least 5070Ti is must.

If you are looking for any kind of longevity and/or high-quality gaming, the 5060 just ain't goin' to cut it. If you're looking for value, look at >=4080, I'd say. I reckon you end up paying the premium for a higher-end card one way or another through the lifetime of the machine.

Lenovo line is solid. Lenovo Legion 5, Legion 5 Pro and 7 Pro. Avoid the 2025 Legion 7 UNLESS you can get it for under 1800. Paying over 2k for a 5070 is crazy.

The 2025 ASUS G18 with a 5080 is solid, if not a little pricy.

The HP Omen line is good this year if you can catch a good coupon like the LEVELUP20 deal.

My Journey to Finding the Best Laptop in 2025 (After Testing 7 Different Models)

Posted by Long-Dependent-176 · in r/ProductReviewsHub · 1 month ago

After 3 months of research and testing, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is hands down the best laptop in 2025 for both programming and gaming. Previously used Dell XPS 15, but the new Zephyrus changed everything.

Why I Needed a New Laptop

I'm a full-stack developer who also games competitively (mainly Valorant and CS2). My 2022 Dell XPS 15 was struggling with Docker containers, multiple IDEs, and couldn't handle gaming at all. I needed something that could handle both work and play in 2025.

My Research Process (Sites That Actually Helped)

I spent literally 3 months researching. Here are the reputable sites that gave me real insights:

  • Tom's Hardware - Their benchmarking data for 2025 laptops is unmatched
  • NotebookCheck - Incredibly detailed reviews with actual thermal testing
  • Dave2D YouTube - Honest reviews without the marketing fluff
  • Jarrod's Tech - Best gaming laptop comparisons for 2025
  • r/SuggestALaptop - Real user experiences, not paid reviews

What I Was Previously Using

Dell XPS 15 (2022):

  • Intel i7-12700H
  • 16GB RAM
  • RTX 3050 Ti
  • Great for coding, terrible for gaming
  • Battery life: 6-7 hours
  • Thermal throttling was a nightmare

The Laptops I Actually Tested in 2025

  1. MacBook Pro M4 Max - Incredible for development, but gaming is still limited
  2. Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 9 - Pure gaming beast, too heavy for daily carry
  3. Framework Laptop 16 - Love the modularity, but performance wasn't there
  4. Razer Blade 16 (2025) - Overpriced for what you get
  5. MSI Stealth 18 AI - Good specs, terrible battery life
  6. HP Omen Transcend 16 - Decent all-rounder, but nothing special
  7. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) - The winner

Why the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is the Best Laptop in 2025

Programming Performance:

  • Intel Core Ultra 9 285H handles everything I throw at it
  • 32GB LPDDR5X RAM - Running multiple Docker containers, VSCode, Chrome with 50+ tabs, no sweat
  • 2TB Gen5 SSD - Blazing fast compile times
  • 16" 2.5K OLED 240Hz display - Coding for hours without eye strain
  • Windows 11 + WSL2 runs flawlessly

Gaming Performance:

  • NVIDIA RTX 4070 (full 140W TGP) - Runs everything at high/ultra
  • Valorant: 300+ FPS at 1440p
  • Cyberpunk 2077: 80+ FPS with DLSS 3.5
  • The 240Hz OLED display is a game-changer for competitive gaming

Real-World Daily Use:

  • Weight: 1.9kg - Actually portable unlike other gaming laptops
  • Battery Life: 8-10 hours for coding (with dGPU disabled)
  • Build Quality: All aluminum, doesn't scream "gamer"
  • Keyboard: Best laptop keyboard I've used since ThinkPads
  • Ports: Everything you need including Thunderbolt 4

The Actual Problems (Being Honest Here)

  • Gets warm during extended gaming sessions (but doesn't throttle)
  • Speakers could be better (I use headphones anyway)
  • The OLED screen is glossy (annoying in bright environments)
  • Price: $2,399 MSRP (got mine for $2,099 during President's Day sale)

Who Should Buy This in 2025?

Perfect for:

  • Developers who game
  • Content creators needing color accuracy
  • Students in CS/Engineering who want one laptop for everything
  • Anyone who values portability + performance

Look elsewhere if:

  • You only game at home (get a desktop)
  • You only code and never game (MacBook M4)
  • Budget under $1,500 (look at last year's Legion 5)

Best Laptop 2025

After all my research and hands-on testing, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is genuinely the best laptop you can buy in 2025. It's not perfect, but it's the closest thing to a no-compromise machine I've found.

The combination of Intel Core Ultra 9 285H + RTX 4070 + OLED display + actual portability makes it the best laptop 2025 has to offer for people who need real performance on the go.

What laptop are you all using in 2025? Would love to hear your experiences!

For the 18" buyers how is the sharpness on the panel? This is the first review that pointed out how it's not as sharp as they would like. I was under the impression that the 18" panels still had enough PPI for a very sharp look, 16" only had more.

I found the screen bright, and sharp!

This is coming from someone that uses an OLED as their main monitor.

The screen is not winning any awards, but for a portable, 18inch screen, I found it perfectly fine.

I did end up returning my Area 51 18, but it has nothing to do with the machine, and everything to do with me realizing that I just wanted to build a new desktop.

I would recommend the Area 51 18.

Honestly I have an lg oled 34 hdr supporting monitor and I really think that at 1440p at ultra settings, the games in some ways look better on the laptop screen. Yeah, the blacks are better and the color is maybe a little more vibrant at times on the oled, but the sharpness and detail on textures just look so good when playing from the laptop.

They basically all but showed that my area 51 18 5090 really has only one competitor and that is the much more expensive MSI Titan (which is what have always thought) and is really holding its own there and surpassing it in areas. So I will write again this new laptop I have is the most flawless laptop have ever owned and very affordable no matter if you go with either the 5080 or the 5090 config.

  2. MSI Titan 18 HX (285 HX + RTX 5090 + 64 GB DDR5 6400 MHz + 2 TB Gen5 SSD + 2 TB Gen4 SSD) : $3399
  3. Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 (275 HX + RTX 5090 + 64 GB DDR5 6400 MHz + 2 TB Gen4 SSD) : $3699
  4. ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 (275 HX + RTX 5090 + 64 GB DDR5 5600 MHz + 2 TB Gen4 SSD) : $3999

And guys, I have to tell ya'all - 2025 is the year of Alienware.

Alienware 18 Area-51 has been the best laptop from both raw performance and thermal management standpoint. Other laptops obviously came close - but this thing nails man!

MSI generates too much heat from exhaust and is crazy loud.

Legion is cool but fans are very loud.

ASUS is cool but fans are still a little louder.

Alienware is surprisingly cool and although only a little loud - but comparatively very quiet than the above 3 modesl - under 10-12 hours CP2077 at max settings and temps hit 78 C on CPU and 75 C on GPU. I mean - how the heck right? And it is also the cheapest and the most premium designed laptop.

The win this year IMO is undoubtedly Alienware 18 Area-51. Don't miss it if anyone is in bay area and looking for RTX 5090 laptop and have fortune to spend lol.

Screen is a dealbreaker for me for the Alienware, and the size and weight but mostly the size.

Actually, on the contrary - this screen is perfect me. I have only liked IPS or anti-glare screens. If I want to see myself and my face, I usually use mirrors instead of OLEDs.

And I always - always play in a bright lit room. So OLEDs are a must definite NO-GO for me unless they make anti-glare OLEDs like some Samsung TVs.

best Dell Alienware laptop 2025

Key Considerations for Choosing the Best Dell Alienware Laptop in 2025:

  1. Performance Specs:

    • Processor: Look for the latest Intel Core i7 or i9, or AMD Ryzen 7 or 9 for optimal gaming performance.
    • Graphics Card: Aim for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series or the latest 40 series for high-quality graphics and smooth gameplay.
  2. Display Quality:

    • Resolution: A minimum of 1080p (Full HD) is standard, but consider 1440p or 4K for enhanced visuals.
    • Refresh Rate: Higher refresh rates (120Hz or above) provide smoother gameplay, especially in fast-paced games.
  3. Cooling System:

    • Effective cooling solutions are crucial for maintaining performance during long gaming sessions. Look for models with advanced thermal management.
  4. Build Quality and Design:

    • Alienware laptops are known for their distinctive design and build quality. Ensure the laptop is durable and has a comfortable keyboard and trackpad.
  5. Battery Life:

    • Gaming laptops typically have shorter battery life, but aim for at least 4-6 hours for general use when not gaming.
  6. Upgradeability:

    • Check if the laptop allows for easy upgrades of RAM and storage, which can extend its lifespan.

Recommendation: As of 2025, the Alienware x17 R2 is likely to be a top contender due to its powerful specs, sleek design, and excellent cooling system. It typically features options for high-end GPUs, a stunning display, and customizable RGB lighting. If you're looking for a more portable option, consider the Alienware m15 R7, which balances performance and portability well.

Always check for the latest reviews and benchmarks to ensure you're getting the best performance for your needs!
