What Redditors are Saying

Best Dell XPS Laptop for 2025

TL;DR The Dell XPS series is renowned for its sleek design and powerful performance. For 2025, consider models with the latest Intel processors, ample RAM (preferably 32GB), and substantial storage to meet both everyday computing and more demanding tasks like gaming or music production.

Current Model Insights

While there are no specific mentions of a 2025 Dell XPS model in the discussions, insights can be drawn from current models and user experiences. The Dell XPS series is known for its premium build and performance, making it suitable for various tasks including programming and gaming [5]. Users have praised previous models for their solid CPU and battery life, although some have experienced hardware issues such as motherboard failures [3].

Alternative Recommendations

If you're considering alternatives to the Dell XPS, several users have recommended laptops that offer similar features. The HP Omen Transcend was suggested for its powerful CPU, RTX 5060 GPU, and lightweight design, which aligns well with the specifications sought by XPS users [3:2]. Lenovo Yoga 7i/9i models were also recommended for their sleek design and Intel Core Ultra processors [4:1].

Considerations for Purchase

When purchasing a laptop in 2025, consider the following factors:

  • Processor and Graphics: Look for the latest Intel or AMD processors and NVIDIA GPUs to ensure smooth performance for both work and gaming.
  • RAM and Storage: Aim for at least 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage to accommodate multitasking and large files, especially if you produce music or play games [4].
  • Build Quality and Warranty: Given past experiences with hardware failures, investing in an extended warranty might be beneficial [2:6].

User Experiences

Users have shared varied experiences with Dell XPS models, highlighting their premium status but also noting potential issues with discontinued lines and parts availability [2:3][2:5]. Despite this, many users continue to appreciate the brand for its overall value and performance [2:10].

In summary, while specific 2025 Dell XPS models weren't discussed, the series remains a strong contender for those seeking a high-performance laptop. Consider alternative brands and models if you're looking for similar specs or want to explore different options.

I just had to share my experience with "highiptv4k. com" because it's been a total game-changer for my entertainment needs. With a diverse range of channels and a seamless streaming experience, it's already impressive. But what truly sets it apart is the affordability

tinadeee94 · 9 days ago

I used to spend more time troubleshooting streams than actually watching them. That’s when I realized I just needed something simple and stable. The first provider that gave me that was BINGETRAX , which didn’t crash during NFL games and even had a solid on-demand section. It’s the one I’ve kept.

1 upvotes on reddit
Odd-Translator-4181 · 8 days ago

The on-demand library works flawlessly too.

Old_Knowledge_7771 · 8 days ago

It’s been stable enough that BINGETRAX is the one I’ve kept.

Leviathan_works · 9 days ago

What I learned pretty quickly is that having thousands of channels means nothing if the streams don’t hold up. Too many providers talk big but can’t handle peak hours. The only one I tested that managed to balance sports, movies, and live TV without freezing was BINGETRAX, which has been surprisingly steady.

jugulu-desanta · 9 days ago

Over the years I’ve tried a mix of budget and “premium” IPTV services, and most didn’t even last through a season. Some froze constantly, others disappeared with no warning. The one that I didn’t expect to keep but ended up sticking around with was FLIXTRO. COM, mainly because it never failed during fight nights.

MeaninglessBanter · 9 days ago

At first I assumed every provider was a scam waiting to happen since two shut down while I was still subscribed. That made me extra cautious moving forward. The only one I’ve stuck with longer than a few months has been TVNADO, mostly because it didn’t buckle when traffic spiked.

Odd-Translator-4181 · 8 days ago

Stability under high demand is why TVNADO has stayed my choice.

Get the battery replaced under warranty. It is shit now from being plugged in and running nonstop for its whole life. Other than that, congratulations on a hell of a deal. This laptop will likely still be fine for 95% of what you need for a very long time to come

For the price you paid and since it is under warranty with Dell, I personally would look into getting the warranty extended to the max.

This is helpful when the machine dies on you. I always have bad luck with Dells that I always do this and usually end up with a newish machine at the end of the warranty due to their hardware failing but still being under warranty.

You are overthinking this. You got a come up and I think this is freaking you out. You have to remember, MSRP are bloated price points anyway and is not the value of what they are paying for it in China.

But, I Strongly suggest, if you don't have Asurion Home or Verizon or AT&T's version of Asurion Home Protect, that you go back and get the 3 year ADH extended warranty which also covers accidental damage and handling. Take the win and add the protection for the win and use the hell out of the protection.

One it’s a display model, which means it’s been handled by a large number of people that either matters to you or it doesn’t

Two Dell has discontinued the entire product line and there will be no upgrades for this device.

ecalex · 10 days ago

the second part isn't really true. if it has warranty, it has support to the purchaser of the device.

the fact that xps became Dell premium doesn't really matter because irrespective of that, you will not be getting "upgrades" for your particular device

There’s just no question that whatever Dell is saying right now it is certainly going to become progressively more difficult to get parts for these products in the future

Fastbutnotfurious91 · 10 days ago

The catch is it’s a display model for a discontinued product line.

Definitely a good deal, although I would strongly consider an extended warranty through Dell, it’ll be worth it considering how much money you saved. It’s probably been on for a very long time.

Best laptop to buy in 2025?

Posted by Hour-Persimmon9856 · in r/laptops · 1 month ago

Hey guys,

So I currently have a dell xps 13 and I'm thinking of getting a new laptop soon and would love to know any reccommendations.

Here's is generally what I look for:

- Sleek, 13-15 inch screen

- 16/32 Gb Ram (preferably 32)

- 1TB storage

I don't game heavily but I do have a few steam games that I'd like to run. I also produce music so use FL studio pretty regularly. Mostly just need a laptop though for day to day activities.

I try and stay away from HP as I've had some bad experiences

My Journey to Finding the Best Laptop in 2025 (After Testing 7 Different Models)

Posted by Long-Dependent-176 · in r/ProductReviewsHub · 1 month ago

After 3 months of research and testing, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is hands down the best laptop in 2025 for both programming and gaming. Previously used Dell XPS 15, but the new Zephyrus changed everything.

Why I Needed a New Laptop

I'm a full-stack developer who also games competitively (mainly Valorant and CS2). My 2022 Dell XPS 15 was struggling with Docker containers, multiple IDEs, and couldn't handle gaming at all. I needed something that could handle both work and play in 2025.

My Research Process (Sites That Actually Helped)

I spent literally 3 months researching. Here are the reputable sites that gave me real insights:

  • Tom's Hardware - Their benchmarking data for 2025 laptops is unmatched
  • NotebookCheck - Incredibly detailed reviews with actual thermal testing
  • Dave2D YouTube - Honest reviews without the marketing fluff
  • Jarrod's Tech - Best gaming laptop comparisons for 2025
  • r/SuggestALaptop - Real user experiences, not paid reviews

What I Was Previously Using

Dell XPS 15 (2022):

  • Intel i7-12700H
  • 16GB RAM
  • RTX 3050 Ti
  • Great for coding, terrible for gaming
  • Battery life: 6-7 hours
  • Thermal throttling was a nightmare

The Laptops I Actually Tested in 2025

  1. MacBook Pro M4 Max - Incredible for development, but gaming is still limited
  2. Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 9 - Pure gaming beast, too heavy for daily carry
  3. Framework Laptop 16 - Love the modularity, but performance wasn't there
  4. Razer Blade 16 (2025) - Overpriced for what you get
  5. MSI Stealth 18 AI - Good specs, terrible battery life
  6. HP Omen Transcend 16 - Decent all-rounder, but nothing special
  7. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) - The winner

Why the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is the Best Laptop in 2025

Programming Performance:

  • Intel Core Ultra 9 285H handles everything I throw at it
  • 32GB LPDDR5X RAM - Running multiple Docker containers, VSCode, Chrome with 50+ tabs, no sweat
  • 2TB Gen5 SSD - Blazing fast compile times
  • 16" 2.5K OLED 240Hz display - Coding for hours without eye strain
  • Windows 11 + WSL2 runs flawlessly

Gaming Performance:

  • NVIDIA RTX 4070 (full 140W TGP) - Runs everything at high/ultra
  • Valorant: 300+ FPS at 1440p
  • Cyberpunk 2077: 80+ FPS with DLSS 3.5
  • The 240Hz OLED display is a game-changer for competitive gaming

Real-World Daily Use:

  • Weight: 1.9kg - Actually portable unlike other gaming laptops
  • Battery Life: 8-10 hours for coding (with dGPU disabled)
  • Build Quality: All aluminum, doesn't scream "gamer"
  • Keyboard: Best laptop keyboard I've used since ThinkPads
  • Ports: Everything you need including Thunderbolt 4

The Actual Problems (Being Honest Here)

  • Gets warm during extended gaming sessions (but doesn't throttle)
  • Speakers could be better (I use headphones anyway)
  • The OLED screen is glossy (annoying in bright environments)
  • Price: $2,399 MSRP (got mine for $2,099 during President's Day sale)

Who Should Buy This in 2025?

Perfect for:

  • Developers who game
  • Content creators needing color accuracy
  • Students in CS/Engineering who want one laptop for everything
  • Anyone who values portability + performance

Look elsewhere if:

  • You only game at home (get a desktop)
  • You only code and never game (MacBook M4)
  • Budget under $1,500 (look at last year's Legion 5)

Best Laptop 2025

After all my research and hands-on testing, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is genuinely the best laptop you can buy in 2025. It's not perfect, but it's the closest thing to a no-compromise machine I've found.

The combination of Intel Core Ultra 9 285H + RTX 4070 + OLED display + actual portability makes it the best laptop 2025 has to offer for people who need real performance on the go.

What laptop are you all using in 2025? Would love to hear your experiences!

Is XPS dead?

Posted by Sure_Environment2901 · in r/DellXPS · 1 month ago

As an owner of the 9570 and 9710 I consider the 9730 the last genuine quality XPS. The current generation of Dell XPS is a completely different breed, more like an HP Pavilion with nice outer design, no longer premium , they should've named them with a different label. Dell ruined the brand. Will we ever see a genuine XPS again? Hope so. If I were not so tied to Windows I would buy a Mac.

It's still there, they just renamed the whole product line. The latest XPS design is available under the Dell Premium line, while the previous, more traditional XPS design, is available under the Dell Pro Max Premium line (as a replacement of the Precision line). We can all agree that none of this makes sense.

I wish I knew this. I bought the Dell XPS 14 (9440) in November of last year. It's so clunky and heavy that I don't really take it outside my house. I instead use my six year old Dell XPS 13 (9380) as my true "travel" laptop (although I mostly have to keep it plugged in to use) because it's lightweight and I feel less afraid if it gets dinged or banged up.

What is called XPS 13 now is the renamed XPS 13 plus variant they had the last few years in parallel to the XPS 13.

IMHO a more appropriate name would have been XPS 13 Minus.

The function key row is now a touch bar. A mistake that Apple did first years ago and nobody should have copied.

In addition they hid the touchpad area. It's still a limited area, but now you are invited to guess where it ends.

Terrible design ideas.

I recently bought my 4th XPS 13 (with this new shitty design because my beloved XPS 13 got replaced with this). Had trouble with wifi. Had 2 hardware replacements. After the second (now it has 2 problems, still the wifi device drop plus new touchpad problem) Dell rather took it back and returned the money.

Dell had a great premium ultrabook line with official Ubuntu option that was highly respected. Then they went and messed up the hardware and dropped the well known brand name. No idea what management was thinking.

Getting a Framework 13 instead now. I'll miss the super thing bezel of the XPS 13, but Framework offers upgradability and options. I'm willing to pay with a few % bezel for that.

RIP XPS 13

Dell Premium. New name, same bad 2024 refreshed design... Same mediocre laptop XPS had been since 2020. Instead of fixing XPS 15/17 - AMD processors, high refresh rate screens, better power budgets, better cooling, LPCAMM2 modular RAM... Dell opted to take 2 or 3 steps backwards with a design that's all about looking pretty rather than being a genuinely good laptop. Its too bad - XPS 17 was almost a buy for me in both 2020 and 2023....

Recommendation Best laptop to buy in 2025

Posted by Choripan_Para_Todos · in r/RoboticPool · 4 months ago

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a solid laptop for 2025—something reliable for web design, school, and watching movies. I’m not into gaming, but I want good battery life, a decent webcam, and something that’ll last a few years. I’ve seen people talk about the MacBook Air M4, Asus Zenbook, Dell XPS, and Samsung GalaxyBook 5 Pro.

If you’re using one of these (or another), how’s your experience? Any must-know pros or cons? What should I really look out for when choosing? Appreciate your personal recommendations!

From personal experience, I finally decided to buy the MacBook Air M4. I’ve been using it for several weeks now, and it works really well—great battery life, super smooth performance, and the display is fantastic. Definitely worth it if you want something reliable and easy to carry around.

I went with the Acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop. I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and it’s been great—powerful performance, smooth gaming, and a crisp display. Solid choice if you want good specs without breaking the bank.

best Dell XPS laptop 2025

Key Considerations for Choosing the Best Dell XPS Laptop in 2025:

  1. Performance: Look for the latest Intel or AMD processors (likely 13th Gen Intel Core or Ryzen 7000 series) for optimal performance. Aim for at least 16GB of RAM for multitasking.

  2. Display Quality: Dell XPS laptops are known for their stunning displays. Consider options with 4K UHD resolution for vibrant colors and sharp images, especially if you work with graphics or media.

  3. Battery Life: A good battery life (8+ hours) is essential for portability. Check reviews for real-world battery performance.

  4. Build Quality: The XPS line is renowned for its premium materials (aluminum and carbon fiber). Ensure the model you choose maintains this high standard.

  5. Storage Options: SSD storage is a must for speed. Look for models with at least 512GB SSD, or more if you store large files.

  6. Port Selection: Ensure the laptop has a good range of ports (USB-C, Thunderbolt, HDMI) to connect your peripherals easily.

Recommendation: As of 2023, the Dell XPS 13 and XPS 15 are highly regarded. The XPS 15, with its larger screen and dedicated GPU options, is excellent for creative professionals. The XPS 13 is more portable and ideal for everyday use. Keep an eye on reviews and benchmarks for the latest models as they release in 2025 to ensure you get the best performance and features for your needs.
