TL;DR Consider using glass-front cabinets or acrylic wall shelves with LED lighting for display, and individual plastic containers for storage.
Display Cabinets and Shelves
For displaying figurines while protecting them from dust, glass-front cabinets are a popular choice. These can be filled with rows of acrylic risers to maximize space [1:2]. Clear acrylic wall shelves with LED lighting are also recommended for showcasing collectibles beautifully while keeping dust out
[1:3]. Curio cabinets, which can often be found on platforms like Facebook Marketplace, provide a vintage touch and can be customized with paint
[1:7].
Individual Containers
For those who need easy access to their figures but want to avoid dust, individual plastic containers from craft stores like Michael's are a practical solution. These containers are often on sale and can fit most 6-inch scale figures [2:1]. Accessories can be stored separately in no-spill craft organizers
[2:2].
Dust Prevention Strategies
To prevent dust accumulation, some collectors use vacuum cleaners regularly on their displays, especially for items with long hair or fabric [3:1]. For those living in dusty environments, investing in translucent display boxes available online from retailers like Amazon, Temu, or AliExpress can help keep collections visible yet protected
[5:1].
Storage Totes
For larger collections that require rotation or temporary storage, stackable opaque storage totes are recommended. These should be kept away from heat and sunlight to protect the figures [4:1]. Some collectors prefer using original packaging for storage, as many boxes are visually appealing and offer protection
[4:2].
Glass Cabinets
For a more modern and stylish storage solution, glass cabinets are suggested. Although they might be pricier, they effectively combat dust and provide an elegant way to display figures [5:2].
My kid collects those blind box figures, they are like a few inches tall. He has a BAZILLION of them scattered all around. I'm wondering if there is some sort of light weight shelf I can hang, with see through glass/plastic doors so they don't get all dusty. Even better with shelves that light up so you can see them better. Any suggestions or leads to find this object I have imagined up? Edited: I tried to add a photo of what I mean and couldn’t figure out how. If you know what kidrobot figurines are then that’s the size I mean, the small ones about 2-3 inches tall. He probably has 100, no joke, it’s nuts
These risers can be really helpful for small figurines to widen the surface area you have to work with

Ooooh this is a great idea! So I can buy something with a wider shelf and still be able to put a lot on one shelf
Yep I have a big deep glass-front cabinet with rows of acrylic risers--you can put set of risers in the back, on top of something like a shoebox, and then set of risers in front of the shoebox, for efficient use of space. I also use nail polish shelves against the back wall of the cabinet--they're the exact right height for a lot of tinier figurines. I'm meaning to install some LED strips behind the door frame to light things up!
then you don't have to pick favourites for who's up front 😆
A clear acrylic wall shelf with LED lighting would be perfect! It displays them beautifully while keeping dust out and highlights each figure.
My daughter has a vintage curio cabinet she painted green. Facebook marketplace always has these things.
Either stuff a curio full of the figurines like my parents do (using whatever lego figurines, toy wagons, etc. We had as kids as makeshift risers), or a cube shelf with risers (or hanging cube shelves) seem to be the most popular option.
Realizing my collection is getting too big to keep displayed. I have all of the original boxes but I feel like it’s not good for easy access, because I pose them frequently. What do you all recommend?
I use these individual plastic containers from Michael’s, they are almost always on sale for cheap and are big enough to fit 99% of the normal 6in scale figures.

Oh those look good, thanks! How do you put the accessories in?
I used to put the accessories loose with each fig in their respective containers but now i keep them in these https://www.michaels.com/product/no-spill-craft-storage-organizer-by-simply-tidy-10468278
I have been using a book shelf for my fugglers, but they've started to get really dusty. Someone suggested keeping them in a box, but I want them to stay on display. What is a good storage method for display, to avoid dust, and not to expensive. I see people using shoe holders but I want to see if there's better alternatives. Thanks in advance!
I just use the vacuum cleaner once a week and a vacuum all my fugglers. They get really fluffy from it too, especially the ones with long hair and it takes away the dust. 😋
Hey there. Looking for advice from those collectors who have lots of stuff. I’m of course out of room to display my dudes. I’m actually going the route of rotating out dudes.
Are there premium storage containers specifically built for the safe storage of my holy grails? Any specific companies I should look at?
I don’t wanna just box them up in cardboard and toss em in the attic. How do people store em specifically if you want to access them again?
I’ve got figures all the way from mini con to titan size.
I store them in empty boxes i keep from my figures. Most boxes look way to good to throw away. So i wrap the figures up and put them in the boxes. I recently got Titan Trypticon. I'll be able to store quite number of figures in that box when the time comes.
Storages Boxes(company's) i just can't get myself to use. I'm way to paranoid to have my figures out of sight.
Yeah,
I boxed mine up and started putting them in a closet.
When the closet was over run by little plastic robots, they started randomly sneaking around the room.
Just wrap them carefully and store them in stackable, opaque, storage totes away from heat or sunlight. I don't know of anything specifically designed for figure storage.
My wife literally said the same thing. Double checked the name just to make sure. Lol
I am curious to know what you use for storage? I live in a pretty old and dusty place and fuzz + dust isn't a great combination so currently my collection is either mostly boxed or put away. I'm just curious if anyone has tried any of these more modern figure displays or any creative solutions so that they don't need to live in boxes forever.
Thank you in advance!
i asked my partner for a glass cabinet for my birthday, to combat the dust! the one i want is ikea, and actually not cheap. 😬
I keep mine put up but I've seen translucent display boxes on the Internet before. I'd try Amazon, Temu, AliExpress.
Pretty new to collecting I’ve got quite a few figures now but the more I’m buying the more messier and un organised it looks and I suck at organisation. Can anyone help me with tips on how to organise my detolfs?🙏
I usually set them by theme or by different series that just look good together. You have to play and move some around and take a step back to look at them and see if you liked them or not. Lighting will bring out the vibrant colors of some figures. Also raising or lowering some figures by using acrylic stands also plays a big part in looks. One last thing, don't be afraid of looking and borrowing ideas from other collectors & their collections.
Thank you so much bro your advice is perfect and I love your collection it looks so nice!!
Thanks & you're welcome :]
I do it in this order. Same character, same series, theme, color
colour👏coordination👏 happened coincidentally tbh but now it has become my thing ♥️ 🖤🤍 and it does help with budgeting a little bit 😄
Wow those figurines with fans look so amazing! Especially the one w 2 fans. The color is gorgeous
thanks! here are their mfc links im case you‘re interested: https://myfigurecollection.net/item/950074 https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1224602
My phone has a terrible camera, but, I put them together first by series, then by character and finally just vibes
Thanks dude that’s a good idea mine are just randomly put and it bugs me I just need some tips for doing correctly. I really appreciate your reply!
Here is a slightly outdated picture of few of my showcases (have couple more elsewhere) taken with a bad phone camera. I mostly try to organize the shelves by series or by some sort of theme.
I think it’s time to finally give my figures a more safe and stable home(off the tables💀)- anyone have any good shelf suggestions? I have about 20 with 6 more on the way
I skipped the IKEA route and went straight for Moducase. You could probably get a couple SIXTH 55 cubes for all of your figures (and future ones) from Sideshow, they’re pretty much the fastest way to get them. Ordering from Singapore has better options, but takes upwards of a year to arrive here in the States.
Look at Ikea; Blaliden and Billy cases are all perfect for 1/6 scale figures.
I didn’t realize how cheap they were thank you!
Another vote for BROTTAR. Full glass doors rather than the wooden borders that IKEA doors come with. Also, built-in lighting. I've just moved from Billy bookcases to the BROTTAR, and it's such a step up.
BROTTAR on Amazon
Ohhh nice i haven’t seen those before
I’ve always liked the Billy cases from IKEA. I’m pretty sure you can still buy the glass doors for them too. They look good holding one or two figures per shelf.
Where I am, they have fully customizable Billy cases now including custom lighting if you so please.
Glass doors would actually be great that might be what I go with
a small bookcase
Or a medium sized bookcase.
Also floating shelves are great. Gonna ruin your wall if you ever want to take them down, but even without a stud you can use those rabbit ears anchors and support a pretty decent sized shelf with them. Games don't weigh very much. You'll need to form a decent sized hole but just supporting some game cases isn't much, the plastic rabbit ears are fine for that, don't even need those toggle ones that need a bigger hole. There are more discrete anchors but I prefer the ones that open up behind the drywall and then anchor to it, the plastic rabbit ears are my go to.
A Dvd/CD storage binder can hold a vast amount of games, yet take up an infinitesimal amount of space, \o/.
Came here just to say this. Keep all those disc in a binder an throw away the boxes.
/s
They have some DVD towers that you could fit 3 or 4 in that space. They hold like 50 games each and are about as tall as the tall side of your shelves
Well labelled boxes
Get some of those plastic Rubbermaid or Sterilite drawers and pack em' in there like files. Keeps dust off too.
Moved recently and have a lot more space now. This was just about the first thing I purchased and set up. so nice to not have to cram everything into one shelf!
Looks great! If you haven't: Please make sure to attach/anchor them to the wall with whatever tilt prevention possible these are so dangerous when they're packed like this. Even though it is just games and not books it's still a huge tilt hazard.
Looks really nice! I believe I have the same shelves just in black. Not a fan of white but that’s personal preference.
Actually so cool.
Wow!!
How did you cram all that into one shelf dude 😂 looks great though OP
It’s every collector’s fear, not knowing where to store them. Personally, I have about twenty figurines and I find it a shame not to be able to display them.
I could never buy something knowing it’ll be sealed and stored away. I have to find a way to display it lol.
No one can go in the closet… i always tell them that once you step foot in there your swallowed whole by the crys of a empty wallet. They never believe me
There’s a body in there under the boxes. I’m just too lazy to go digging for it.
Same
I need them predators
I think this guy likes predator idk tho..
I throw the ones I’m 100% never selling away. Frees up so much space!
Best figurine storage solutions
Key Considerations for Figurine Storage Solutions
Type of Storage: Decide between display cases, shelving units, or storage bins based on whether you want to showcase your figurines or keep them protected.
Material: Look for durable materials like acrylic, glass, or wood for display cases. For storage bins, consider sturdy plastic or fabric options that can protect against dust and damage.
Size and Capacity: Ensure the storage solution can accommodate the size and number of figurines you have. Measure your figurines and the available space to find the right fit.
Accessibility: Choose a solution that allows easy access to your figurines. Display cases with sliding doors or open shelving can make it easier to reach your collectibles.
Protection: If your figurines are valuable or delicate, consider options with UV protection or dust covers to prevent fading and damage.
Recommendations:
Display Cases: Acrylic display cases are excellent for showcasing figurines while protecting them from dust. Brands like Detolf from IKEA offer affordable glass display cabinets with ample space.
Shelving Units: Floating shelves or wall-mounted shelves can be a stylish way to display your collection without taking up floor space. Look for adjustable shelving to accommodate different sizes.
Storage Bins: For long-term storage, consider clear plastic bins with lids. This allows you to see the contents while keeping them protected. Brands like Sterilite offer various sizes that can stack easily.
Custom Solutions: If you have a large collection, consider custom shelving or display cases tailored to your specific needs, which can maximize space and enhance aesthetics.
By considering these factors, you can find the best storage solution that fits your collection and space.
