TL;DR For optimal performance and visibility in Fortnite, use low settings for most options, with view distance set to far or epic. Cap your FPS at your monitor's refresh rate, turn off shadows, anti-aliasing, and motion blur.
General Recommendations
Many players suggest using low settings for most graphics options to maximize FPS and minimize lag during intense gameplay moments, such as endgames [5:2]
[5:3]. Turning off shadows, anti-aliasing, and motion blur can significantly improve performance
[5:2].
View Distance
Setting the view distance to far or epic is recommended to ensure you can see opponents and structures from a greater distance [2:5]
[5:2]. However, some players have noted that lowering view distance can help with visibility by reducing clutter, such as trees, which might obscure opponents
[3:3]
[4:3].
FPS Cap and Resolution
Cap your FPS at your monitor's refresh rate to avoid unnecessary strain on your GPU [5:5]. If you experience frame drops, consider lowering your resolution to maintain a stable FPS
[5:3]. For those with high-refresh-rate monitors, capping slightly below the refresh rate can provide smoother gameplay
[5:5].
Additional Settings
Other settings like textures, effects, and post-processing should be kept low to medium depending on your system capabilities [5:2]
[5:3]. It's also beneficial to turn off NVIDIA Highlights and set power management to high performance
[5:3].
Specific Player Recommendations
Some players follow professional gamers' settings, such as Tfue's, for competitive advantage [2:1]. Additionally, utilizing resources like YouTube channels dedicated to optimizing Fortnite settings can offer more tailored advice

Hey just quick post. Seen loads of people saying their fps is shit. I found these to be the best getting a stable and easy 240fps capped and 400ish uncapped. Test in public game and zone wars. Not really good enough to get a good end game with many players but hope this helps some of you out. I use an i7 7700 and gtx1070.
Epic graphics lower frame times, epic view distance will make the game render the map 1x time and not every time as you turn like on low settings, thats why epic view distance is the best
This is probably the best settings for FPS but the recent GeForce drivers have been screwing with everyone. I was literally gonna quit Fortnite last few days until I uninstalled the drivers and install older ones.
I believe my drivers are up to date but I'll take your word for it maybe I'm just lucky cause my game has been feeling really good.
Setting your textures to epic will only help if you’re cpu < gpu and your gpu is decent.
So is a GTX 1060 6GB better than an i3 8100? What shall I put all the settings on if anyone knows sorry?
Is your cpu at 100% usage while gaming? Is your gpu at 100?
Does this work with an i5 aswell? 3 years old i5 processor
Really i couldn't tell you. Try it out. Just restart your game when you turn multithreaded rendering on or off
May not take you up to the same amount of frames but may help
Hey guys, Everybody is using different video settings for his gameplay in fortnite. I couldnt find my fav settings that will combine good fps and fun gaming experience.
I would like to see your settings !
View distance : [near / Medium / far / Epic] shadow : [off / Medium / High / Epic] anti-aliasing : [off / Medium / High / Epic] textures : [Low / Medium / High / Epic] effects : [Low / Medium / High / Epic] post processing : [Low / Medium / High / Epic]
just mark your fav :)
have a nice discussion !
For a competitive advantage I would use every setting low or off and view distance far but if you want your game too look better then I would turn up effects and textures to around medium to high this make your game look more attractive
i used to use everything epic but it ate my cpu like a motherfucker, so i have textures on low, everything on medium and view distance high
shadows off
1440 x 1080 Everything low expect for view distance on epic
View distance epic, shadows off, anti-aliasing and textures high, effects and post processing low. Motion blur off, fps capped to 120.
That's what I use.
Always set your fps cap to as high as you can, unless you have frame drops or inconsistent fps.
Personally im using Tfue's Fortnite Settings sometimes i turn up anti-aliasing a bit if i dont feel like seeing all the jagged edges.

Any updates about this settings? I've seen that Allow multi threading isn't available anymore and there are diffrent types of super resolutions.
Why view distance low for competitive settings? Why dx11 instead of 12?
dx11 gave me better performance by a noticable amount and view distance does not apply to players or player srructures so it doesn't have a negative effect when lowering it BUT I found that when standing in forested areas a lot of trees disappeared so if there was a player in the distance where that tree would've been I could've seen them, so lowering it helps visibility from afar
What gpu is needed to run the highest quality best graphics fortnite? chapt 4?
At what resolution? With or without upscaling? At what target framerate?
thanks for the effort man
Today I was playing the Pop-Up cup and I was at 26 points. I get a few kills and get to the late game and the ending zone is in tilted, I am top 15 at this point and I take ultimate high ground and am picking shots. At this point my FPS does a nose dive and I am getting shot down so I drop down a few levels and an enemy appears. My game totally lags and freezes up, I hit like 20 fps and he edits and pumps me in the face. I was 1 person away from top 10 for 2 pts and 1 kill away from another point so I was pretty upset.
What can I do to improve my fps? Specs:
1440x1080
Graphics: Radeon RX 580
Processor: Ryzen 5- 1400 Quad-core Processor 3.20 GH
Settings in game are all low except View Distance
I've already done most basic things like turning my AMD graphics profile to Performance and my PC to performance.
The Epic Games launcher makes a significant difference honestly, but beyond that, stretched res should give you a more stable FPS. You’re likely getting bottlenecked by your CPU though; low settings are more CPU dependent than GPU.
view distance doesn't help rendering anything past a certain distance except trees IIRC. Also close the epic games launcher once Fortnite has opened it helps usage stay lower. Lastly check and make sure your drivers are updated. Your pc shouldn't be having performance issues you have a pretty decent rig.
So you suggest lowering view distance to low or medium? And also I play on 144hz does that lower my FPS? Cause I do have a 144hz monitor but I am not always above 144 so it might be pointless to run it if it lowers my performance.
If you're only running a little bit above 60 fps, then you might want to consider capping it at 60, but if you get over 90 fps, I would just stick with 144 fps cap
Everything on low is the best but you may get minor screen tearing on 60 fps. I know i do personally.
Can you send me what you use for your and setting for performance would like to know thanks
Might be pretty simple but is anything at all running in the back like google chrome or even the epic games client? You probably already thought about this but figured I’d give it a shot
I never close epic games client so I'll start doing that in the future.
i don't know much about the best settings but the settings i have is pretty good. i change my settings often ,
there are many youtube channel and website that gives you some idea what are the best fortnite settings.
i follow this channel, you can check it out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRjih0Hyffkb0__OxHhslMQ
Hello, could you help me with the best Fortnite graphic settings to see everything, but don't have problem with fps in endgames with 40 left? Thank u
Cap your FPS to the most consistent you can get (mine is 240) Quality: low View distance: far or epic Shadows: off Anti-aliasing: off Textures: low Effects: low Post processing: low Vsync: off Motion blur: off
Set your power management settings to high performance too.
All right except for the first part. Cap your FPS at your monitor refresh rate, not the most consistent you can get. Anything above your refresh rate and you’re just taxing your GPU for no reason. If you have a G Sync monitor, cap it a few FPS below your refresh rate.
again your wrong too. don't cap at your monitor if it's 60hz cap at atleast 144 as you get faster response times and overall smoothness
My response was provided OP doesn’t have a high refresh rate monitor but yes, you’re right.
Depends how beefy your computer is. I have a NVIDIA GTX 1060
windowed mode: full screen fps: to your monitor refresh rate Resolution: 1920x1080 (if you have to use 1600x900 and then if you still cant get more than 60fps go with 1280x720)
View distance: low Shadows: off Anti aliasing: off Textures: low Effects: medium( to see bullets from the sky when you rift otherwise, low) Post processing: off
Vsync: off Motion blur: off Show fps: on
In your general settings Turn off NVIDIA Highlights and plays off
I have an rtx 2070 and i7-9700k I have everything on minimum used to play on view distance far but I saw a video where bushes and small trees load in closer so if you have view distance low you can see people behind trees from far away.
medium, off, low, med, med, med
you can check this out , there are 100+ fortnite pro players settings . I hope you will find it useful

It’s mainly for frames, as I want to have at least 120 frames, but include graphics settings too if you can as I’m new to Fortnite on pc
What graphics card do you have and what resolution is your monitor?
I got a AMD Radeon RX 6800, with a display resolution of 2560 x 1440
Tomorrow I can post a picture of the settings I run for my rx6850m xt laptop gpu at 1600p. I get usually 90-110fps. Your gpu is at a lower resolution and has more power so you can probably run 120-150 with the same settings.
alongside the in game graphics settings you can try running stretched res, don't know the popular resolutions of the top of my head but its still viable
Hello, I have a Ryzen 5 2600 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, and I’ve been messing around with the settings, but can’t find the right one without my FPS dropping or constant lag spikes. I’m not sure if it’s because I switched from DX11 to DX12.
Right now, most of my graphic settings are set to medium or high. Anyone that has similar specs would like to share their settings to me?
My GPU is a lot worse than yours so I use performance mode.
Thanks, I’ll check it out
The graphics look terrible on performance mode because it uses dx11 as its structure. The FPS goes really good tho.
I have a Ryzen 7 5700x and an RTX 4070 and I'm getting lag spikes on performance mode, just started this season.
I have 3080 ti and the lag is awful, i have low ping but it feels super high. cant edit or build
This is my game with these exact settings on a ryzen 5 5600x and an RX 7600 1920-1080 16:9 Vsync off DX12 (depends on your GPU) A-A & Super Resolution- TAA 3D resolution- 100% (For older graphics cards it’s better to go with TSR low and have your 3D resolution set to either 50% or 75%, this solely depends on how grainy your game is, if it’s still too grainy try 100% on TSR Low) Dynamic 3D resolution- OFF Nanite virtualized Geometry- OFF Global Illumination- OFF Reflections- OFF View distance- epic or high, if game runs choppy try medium. Textures- Low Effects- Low Post processing- (most think to keep this on low but medium or high is better for seeing loot and people far away because of depth of field. If your game is choppy low will be fine but please note that loot will not load in past 70-120 meters, and people 120-280 meters depending on your scopes zoom.) Ray tracing- OFF
Again this is a general guide for maximum performance while still not looking at a complete potato.
the road having gray grass is a really good feature thank you epic
💀💀
Habra ajustes mas actualizados?
Alright so I lied a bit, after more testing, for mid tier to higher end GPU’s use TSR high or medium at 50-75%, for lower end GPU’s use TSR low At 50-75% or TAA at 100%. This will ensure the most stability in your frames. (Last edit) use unlimited FPS to get a feel for your frames between 1-3 games and keep an eyes on your top frames and your 99% (1%) and .1% frame rate. You want to find a decent middle ground for these frames that doesn’t cause screen tearing. For example my pc at TSR Low 50% got 340 FPS with lows between 180-290. Changing it to TSR medium at 50% got me 260 FOS with more stable 1% lows around 180-230. And .1% lows at 140. This would be the the median fps where you would want to lock in your frame rate.
No idea what graphic settings is optimal right now, view distance especially.
all low textures medium
Same, recently found out that there isn’t much point in having view distance far, all it does is render chests and furniture quicker
I think view distance makes it easier to identify items from a distance? For example when you want to land on a pump, or see if someone’s loot is worth running for etc. Could be wrong.
Every thing in low except view distance on far pushing 240 FPS
Everything low with 60% 3ds. Granted I have horrible specs
Low everythang
All low. My pc will explode if I play on epic
Hi everyone, I’m a fortnite competitive player and I wonder what are the best settings with the xl2546k for fn comp. Thank you!
Turn on DyAc and go play.
Add on this, you can try the FPS3 mode of your monitor.

best fortnite graphic settings
Key Considerations for Fortnite Graphic Settings:
Performance vs. Visuals: Decide whether you prioritize performance (higher FPS) or visual quality. Lower settings improve performance, while higher settings enhance graphics.
Resolution: Play at your native resolution for the best clarity. If you experience lag, consider lowering the resolution slightly.
Frame Rate: Aim for a consistent frame rate of at least 60 FPS for smooth gameplay. Higher-end systems can target 144 FPS or more.
View Distance: Set this to Epic to see enemies from a distance. This can give you a competitive edge.
Shadows and Anti-Aliasing: Lower these settings to improve performance. Shadows can be particularly taxing on performance.
Textures: If you have a powerful GPU, set textures to High or Epic for better visual quality. Otherwise, Medium is a good balance.
Post Processing: Set to Medium or Low to improve performance without sacrificing too much visual quality.
V-Sync and Motion Blur: Turn off V-Sync to reduce input lag and disable Motion Blur for clearer visuals during fast movements.
