TL;DR
ASUS ROG Series
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus series continues to be a favorite among gamers. The Zephyrus G15 is praised for its high performance, featuring AMD Ryzen processors and NVIDIA RTX graphics cards [1]. The Zephyrus G14 is noted for its portability and battery life, making it ideal for those who need a balance between gaming and mobility
[2:1]. Additionally, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 has received positive feedback for handling heavy-duty games smoothly
[2:2].
Lenovo Legion Series
The Lenovo Legion series, particularly the Legion Pro 7i, is frequently recommended for its solid gaming performance and excellent cooling capabilities [2:1]
[3:1]. Users have highlighted its responsiveness and durability, making it suitable for both gaming and other intensive tasks like video editing
[2:3]. The Legion series is also known for offering good value at competitive prices compared to other high-end models.
Razer Blade Series
The Razer Blade 16 offers a premium build quality combined with powerful specifications, making it another top choice for gamers looking for a high-budget laptop [2:1]. It is often appreciated for its sleek design and robust performance, catering to users who want a stylish yet powerful machine.
MSI Gaming Laptops
MSI laptops, such as the MSI Katana 15, are recognized for their raw power and high-performance capabilities [5]. These laptops are suitable for gamers who prioritize performance over portability or aesthetics. MSI's reputation for delivering reliable gaming machines makes them a strong contender in the market.
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
When choosing a gaming laptop, consider factors such as customer service and support, which can vary significantly between brands [1:2]. It's also important to think about future-proofing your purchase by opting for models with higher RAM and more advanced GPUs to ensure they remain capable of handling new games and applications
[2:2].
Looking for best gaming laptop in 2023, which are most recommended by redditers. My budget is around $2500. I have selected these three laptops after doing my own search.
It's not quite so new and shiny anymore, but the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is still the best of the best. The Asus 'Republic of Gamers' brand has produced some truly excellent gaming laptops (you'll see a few more if you keep scrolling) but this is the definitive pick.
A high-end AMD Ryzen processor, choice of Nvidia RTX 3000 GPU, a great screen, and generally fantastic design mark the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 as a top-notch gaming laptop that can comfortably power through all the latest games. It also packs some truly legendary battery life, lasting about eight to nine hours during our rigorous testing process, which puts it up alongside the long-lasting Asus TUF Dash F15.
All this great performance is wrapped up in a robust chassis with a stylish design, an aesthetic that manages to look good and doesn't scream 'I'm a gamer!' to everyone within a ten-mile radius. To cap it all off, while this isn't a budget machine, it offers an absolutely stellar price-to-performance ratio. So if you want a high-performing gaming laptop that’s competitively priced to boot, nothing beats this one.
Razer Blade 15 (2022) Razer has simplified its Blade 15 lineup, removing the “Advanced” and “Base” models, but what’s left is still a very good, thin, stylish gaming notebook. The Blade 15 remains a favorite because it has strong performance (with a Core i7-127800H and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti in the model we reviewed) but is just 4.4 pounds and 0.57 inches thick.
Asus TUF Dash F15
CPU: Up to Intel Core i7-11375HGraphics: Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070RAM: Up to 16GB DDR4-3200Screen: Up to 15.6-inch WQHD anti-glare 165Hz IPS-level display with Adaptive SyncStorage: Up to 1TB SSD
The Asus TUF line is no stranger to affordable excellent performers. Last year’s Asus TUF A15, for instance, was simply brilliant while keeping things accessible to budget-conscious gamers. In our view, this is the best gaming laptop you can buy if you're on a budget, as while it's more expensive than the MSI GF63 above, it has more powerful, and more recent, components, while still keeping the price impressively low. So, it brings in Intel Tiger Lake processors, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 mobile GPUs, and up to a 240Hz 1080p display without costing a fortune.
Naturally, its legendary chassis is back, keeping things light, thin, and military-grade durable. At under an inch thick and less than 5lb, this is a gaming laptop you want with you wherever you need to go. As is its long battery life, this time around nearing 10 hours, so you have the juice to last you an entire workday if you also want to use it for work.
This will going to be my first gaming laptop, so I don't have that much idea. Pleases suggest which one should I go with
Thank you
When in doubt I go by the brand that has the best customer service/support, I have had nothing but bad experiences with Asus, never bought Razer
Thank you
Hi, I am looking for a best gaming laptop with decent budget which you have brought , I usually play 3A games and will also use it for programming. I don't really care about weight and battery life and also prefer a laptop with a good noise level.
I am comparing the ROG Strix SCAR 15 (2022) vs Legion 5i pro (2022) both with the 3070TI. Which one do you think is better? I am also open for other options. Thanks
I'm a total noob and wanna start playing, what's the best gaming laptop? I dont want to have to buy another one in a couple of years when I move up to games with high graphics requirements. Please don't judge. 😅
I recently got my hands on the ASUS ROG Strix G16, and I must say, I'm pretty impressed. I've played a few heavy-duty games on it, and it handled them with ease.
You'll want something with a powerful graphics card, like an NVIDIA RTX 3070 or higher, and a CPU that can keep up, such as the latest AMD Ryzen or Intel Core i7/i9 processors. At least 16GB of RAM is advisable, but 32GB is even better for future-proofing.
I got a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i laptop three months ago, and it’s a solid machine for gaming, image editing, and for having hundreds of tabs open like the monster I am.
It’s extremely responsive and loads insanely quickly. It runs Star citizen well (whenever the servers are having a good day), and halo infinite runs maxed out at over 70+ fps most of the time. But what got me to write this is that it’s built to last. I'll admit, I'm rough on my machines and this laptop’s metal body is doing great with my rough handling.
Which one exactly?
A budget would be helpful, amigo.
Hey daramme! No judgment here, we all start somewhere! For a future-proof gaming laptop, consider the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15. It packs a punch with an AMD Ryzen 9 processor, NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD. Here are some performance benchmark scores to give you an idea:
These scores indicate top-tier performance that will handle high graphics requirements for years to come.
what is your fovourite laptop?

You're amazing
For the best gaming laptop overall, ASUS Zephyrus G14 and Razer Blade 16 are best for those with a high budget. The Zephyrus G14 is praised for its portability, battery life, and performance, while the Razer Blade 16 offers a premium build and powerful specs.
Another strong contender is the Lenovo Legion series, particularly the Legion 5 Pro. It is often highlighted for its excellent cooling, high refresh rate display, and solid gaming performance at a more affordable price point compared to competitors.
Im shopping for a new laptop which can handle diablo 4, create deepfake/ai... basically going for the most powerful laptop available. I do travel but usually stay put for 2-3 months so size/weight is not an issue.
No budget, what are your favorites/dream laptop?
I use my laptop to work from home and for gaming, so I wanted something that was powerful but not as ‘tacky’ as most gaming laptops. After a bunch of research I ended up with the Legion Pro 7i.
Not gonna lie, super impressed with this laptop! It has everything I was looking for & more than what I even realized.

I’ve been using a Lenevo Legion Pro 7i every single day since I purchased it. It’s very powerful. I use FL Studio to make music, Sony Vegas Pro to edit videos, and I play games like Apex Legends, Gundam Evolution, and more on pretty much the highest settings.
Came here to check the recommendation and now I am sad. RIP Gundam Evo

So, I'm getting a gaming laptop for travel purposes, and to replace my crappy old laptop that can barely run anything. (like it can't run its own OS)
Now. I'm going to use it for programming, game dev, video editing, and gaming
Any brand is fine, my top pick is:
• ASUS ROG Laptop
• MSI Laptop
• Razor Blade Laptop
Exclude:
• Lenovo Legion Laptop
• Dell Alienware Laptop
• HP OMEN Laptop
I'm waiting for any recommendations given. If you have a better pick or any Gaming Laptop that is on deal, then I'm happy to hear from you.
MSI and Asus, both are awesome.
BTW, here's the Amazon List of Best Gaming Laptops as Recommended by other Reddit Users.
I use predator tuf gaming laptop, it's a beast.

I understand you're looking for a powerful and versatile gaming laptop. You might try the HP Victus 16-d0097nr. It has powerful performance and goods specs. What types of games do you typically play?
im just here so see what ppl recommend as i was about to make this same post so thanks in advance <3
upvote. xD

Hey r/newproducts, been digging through reviews, specs, and way too many reddit threads lately trying to find the perfect gaming laptop, figured i’d drop what i found in case anyone else’s in the same boat. I may earn an Affiliate Commission if you buy through links here.
after doing research i found these gaming laptops to be the best currently:
if you’re looking for raw power, big screen, and future-proof specs, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an absolute beast. crazy smooth performance and handles AAA games like nothing. it’s big tho, so not the most portable.
the MSI Katana 15 surprised me tbh: more budget-friendly, but still solid 1080p gaming. not flashy, but if you’re not trying to spend 2k+, it’s a reliable pick.
and then there’s the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16: probably the most balanced of the three. it’s light, powerful, and has that sleek design that actually looks professional. great choice if you game and take it to work or class.
all three have RTX 40-series cards, great thermals, and high refresh screens. depends on whether you want max power, portability, or value. #amazon
g16 display build = elite combo
this helped me justify my g16 purchase
Incomplete lost considering Lenovo legion pro series aren't on there.
Now I'm currently searching for the best gaming laptop that offers powerful performance, a high refresh rate display, and good cooling efficiency. I want something that can handle the latest games smoothly while also being durable and well-built.
I've come across several options during my research, but I’d love to hear about your personal experiences and recommendations. Some options I’ve been considering include:
If you have any personal favorites or additional insights on these gaming laptops or others that might be better for performance, display quality, or portability, please share!
Definitely not the Zephyrus for cooling efficiency. It has great quality but the physics of the thin small chassis doesnt allow it to have good cooling or quiet fans
The Legion Pro 7i has everything you want.
Acer Predator Helios 16💯
Anything under 16 inches isn't a gaming laptop, you can't tell apart s*** on a 14 inch. You might aswell get a tablet
Based on your criteria:
Maybe a Legion 9 Pro. Although I haven't seen one announced for 2025 - they might be merging the 7 Pro and 9 Pro.
But different laptops suit different needs. The Legion 7 Pro with 50 series CPU has an OLED screen. It doesn't have: A mini-LED screen, a 4k screen, an 18 inch screen, nor outright highest performance (probably). It's also not small or compact, and doesn't have the greatest battery life. Looks are subjective, but Legions are fairly bland (which can be a good thing).
There's no 1 best gaming laptop overall because of different design goals and advantages.
If you're searching for the best gaming laptop for 2025, you've probably already noticed how many options are out there. I’ve tested several across different price ranges and use cases, and here’s a breakdown that should help whether you’re a casual gamer, competitive player, or looking for portability.
This one hits the sweet spot between price and performance. Great for 1080p and even 1440p gaming, with reliable thermals and a solid RTX GPU.
For under $1000, this laptop punches well above its weight. You get solid 1080p gaming and military-grade build quality.
If you want desktop-level immersion, the m18 delivers with its massive 18-inch screen and AMD power under the hood.
Lightweight without sacrificing performance. Great for LAN parties, travel, or college dorms.
If you need more than what budget laptops offer but can’t splurge, Nitro 16 strikes that balance well.
A beast of a machine with top-shelf performance. Handles any AAA game at ultra settings.
A well-rounded option for gamers who want solid specs without breaking the bank. Often overlooked but reliable.
Stylish, powerful, and portable. It’s expensive, but you get sleek design with desktop-level power.
What’s Your Pick? Tried any of these laptops? Got a sleeper pick I missed? Share your experience below , I’m always looking to discover new models!
Whether you’re looking for a budget gaming machine or a premium powerhouse, 2025 has something solid in every price bracket.
Discussion Welcome:
Thoughts on the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 2025? I've heard good things about it, curious to hear your input.
Thank you for sharing your experience
Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new gaming laptop and I'm looking for recommendations on the best models available in 2025. I need something that can handle AAA titles at high settings, has excellent cooling, and offers solid battery life for on-the-go gaming.
Any suggestions on laptops with the best performance, build quality, and features? Price isn't an issue — I just want top-tier performance, high FPS on max settings, and ideally a Mini LED or OLED display.
I'm open to all options, but would love to know what you all think is the best for the price.
Thanks in advance!
Legion 7 for OLED, Scar 16 for Mini-LED for max performance
Blade 16 for OLED if you want max portability and good performance, with budget not presenting an obstacle.
The Zephyrus G16 is solid from a build quality/portability/OLED standpoint, but has the lowest TDP GPU of the bunch so the worst gaming performance for the money.
Lenovo and Asus have great options that are affordable. This post will help you
zephyrus g16 is a pretty good all rounder for portability. performance is good but not as good as chunkier laptops
hp omen max/legion pro 7i too
if you want max performance, something like a gigabyte aorus 16/18 is your best bet
The zephyrus is weaker than the Blade 16 which is nor thicker neither bigger, and yet it costs the same
thickness is the same but the blade has a slightly larger footprint and i guess the performance difference is since the 5090 in the blade has a higher tdp
according to this https://youtu.be/p3b17_zTtXc?si=Trd1qd8Fr6PHr5pW
I'm a noob myself, but based on my lengthy research so far:
Razer Blade 16 for portability and gaming performance. It has a 175w gpu if connected to their cooler. Also oled (if you like that, I'm afraid of burn in).
Scar 18 for performance and upgradability. Miniled screen. It's not really portable, almost full plastic build.
MSI Titan for gaming power and built. The chassis is metal, and the cpu is 95 watts. It has a serious off switch in silent mode. Then the cpu will run on 15 watts. Compared to the silent mode in Scar 18, it is 65 watts cpu. More watts is hotter and noisier.
Asus Zephyrus is very limited in GPU power, only 120 watts. It'll underperform to a full 175 watt rtx 4090. So it isn't worth the money to me.
I would say Legion Pro 7, but I just had to return a Legion 9 for overheating bsod, bad built quality, and other issues. Mine might have been a lemon, but I'm naturally not fond of Lenovo. Although they have very good service.
This is mostly based on my research, ymmv 🙏
The Legion 9 is known to overheat and have BIOS problems, problems that the Legion Pro 7i doesn't have.
I've been told so... after I had one 🫠
I'm sorry i just had to intervene because i've been dealing with their service for 4 months.
Sending the client a step by step documentation on how to do the repair they are supposed to do is not good service for me and their customer care services is really lackluster
I have to admit they also instructed me on what to do 🤷♂️
First off I understand everybody's opinion on desktops vs laptops. I need a new laptop for school though and I like being able to play when I travel too. If I do decide to go down the laptop path though who makes the best gaming laptops nowadays?
I really like clevos lately for laptop without any gimmicks. From innovation asus.
Clevo has some of the best cooling for the price. The only laptops to really beat them are top tier, 2k+ laptops.
Gaming laptops are a tough gig to be in. Theres only so much you can do to standout. A few companies worth mentoning that try to stand out are:
Asus have really tried recently and their latest top spec ranges are actually my personal pick.
Alienware have been pretty consistent in quality and support.
Razer are lauded only by people who have never had the misfortune of buying from them.
Custom builds are usually best specs but worst looking.
Best specs Ive seen personally have been:
-i9
>Razer are lauded only by people who have never had the misfortune of buying from them.
Big oof
Tbh all the tech youtuber seem to love their razer, but most I pick a new laptop for myself video are to replace a broken razer..
Don't spend all your budget on the laptop at once, expect to replace in 2 to 3 years if you game on it daily
ASUS have improved a lot recently
Yea like the ROG zepherous or the dual screen one are super cool and relatively affordable
Hi everyone,

No mention of ASUS G18 for $1999? 4080, excellent screen, 13980HX cpu etc. should be next to the Lenovo in terms of value.
Instead you out the inferior FHD 4070 ASUS G16 which is almost the same price.
Hi, the goal of my list is to give you an idea about what you can expect around each price points. As a reminder:
A lot of these laptops are not necessarily on sale, so keep your eyes peeled for the deals that are regularly posted on the subreddit!
The Strix G18 with an RTX 4080 for $1,999 is a great choice, I did not see it was still live when I made the list.
Hi, Nice advice on disable turbo boost. I have a question. What's the different between lowering maximum processor state and disabling turbo boost? Cheers
Hi I’m a bioengineering student who is looking for a good windows laptop. I’ve had a MacBook for a while but it isn’t doing me any good in Solidworks and CAD softwares. It will also be my personal use laptop so I’d like something I’ll enjoy and can you for work and school. I’m not much of a gamer but it’d be nice if I had an option to. I was looking at the Lenovo pro slim 9i 16” Intel Core i9-13905H 2.6GHz, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, 3.2k 165Hz display. Does this seem like a great option? Also my budget is $2000 or less. I realize some laptops might perform better but they all seem to be gaming laptops and they look kind of tacky and blocky for my taste. Thank you in advance!
One of the tacky and blocky gaming laptop I was watching was the Lenovo Legion slim 7i. Is that a better pick for me?
Hello where would you put the 7945hx on cpu comparison list i looked at comparisons but really conflicted about its performance some say 7945hx is better while others says it doesnt works well for laptops and overheats and gives similar results to 7940hs
Hello, I'm interesed in the 2000$+ range. However, I cannot find any info about the package TDP for those laptops. Do all of those laptops have their GPU and CPU fully draw the needed wattage from the motherboard (when both cpu and gpu are at 100%)? Or is there a limitation that makes gpu/cpu not reach their full potential?
Is there a place I can easily see this information? Thanks
You can likely find that information in some in depth reviews such as NotebookCheck's reviews. To be honest, it's not very important to evaluate those things yourself. It's more important to look at the actual performance output.
