The UK season 6 was particularly praised for its humorous cast
[1:3], while the Philippines series is noted for its campy and dramatic flair
[1:5].

Bravo's Real Housewives franchise has expanded globally, offering a glimpse into the lives of affluent women across different cultures. Popular international versions include Durban, Cheshire, Melbourne, and Johannesburg [2:1]. Although not officially part of the franchise, these shows maintain the signature drama and glamour associated with Real Housewives
[2:4]. Fans have expressed interest in seeing more international versions aired in the US

These shows provide suspenseful and engaging content that may align with your interests.
Without spoilers, please! I know Philippines S3 is praised a lot so it’s on my watchlist, but I would like to watch more international seasons. I’ve only watched France so far, and I’m watching Spain S1 with a friend.
UK 2 and 6
Spain 1 and 2
Philippines (all of it)
France 2
Much as the series gets a bad rep, Down Under 2 is honestly a great time, and 4 is also pretty good.
UK6 the whole cast was just so damn funny hanging out and volleying with each other. I could have just watched a whole hour of them joking around, no challenges, no runway, and it still would have been massively entertaining.
Everyone can stop now because you have objectively the best answer. These are all of the best international seasons of Drag Race. I would add UK S5 and Germany S1 too.
Down Under S2 is underrated! I love everything Spanky.
From what I’ve watched best are:
Canada 1 & 3
UK 1, 2, 5, & 6.
All of Phillipines
España 1, 2 & 4
Mexico 2
Down Under 2
France 2
If you like unhinged/cringe seasons: UK 3, Italia 1 & 3, France 3, Canada 4.
Canada 1 on that list? The judging was so awful, I got mad every second episode. Justice for starzy
France 3 was so unhinged but definitely in a good way. Also it was airing concurrently with AS9 and after so many weeks of that feeling that there were no stakes, FR3 came up the rear and was giving stakes right through the heart.
Canada 4 with the “SAVE MELINDA” moment was iconic though. Loved the drama on that season.
I would also submit Down Under 3 for consideration in the unhinged category
Drag Race fuckin Philippines 🇵🇭
3 seasons straight up campy dramatic and extraordinary, no flop. Even S2 still holds its candle for me
DRUK2 is one of the best seasons in the entire franchise! I personally rank Espana 1 right after it because Carmen Farala is that girl.
Honestly. It’s a good watch if you wanna say WTF every episode Lmaooo
Okay… I’ll admit it — I thought Bravo’s Real Housewives series was mostly a U.S. guilty pleasure.
But wow, I had no idea just how massive this franchise is internationally!
It’s wild to see how the drama, glamour, and iconic one-liners have translated across cultures (and continents).
It’s honestly fascinating how each city brings its own cultural flavor while still keeping that signature Housewives chaos intact.

So now I’m curious—which international version surprised you the most or is secretly better than the U.S. ones?
Any underrated gems or cities worth checking out? Let’s rank 'em and swap recommendations!
I wish they would show all the international ones on Bravo! Esp. during the summer!
I wish we had more access to the other shows. I know how the rich live here in the US but I’d love to see the housewives of other countries!
This has been well-known for over a decade. The international shows (Dubai being the only exception) are not official entries in the Real Housewives franchise. As per the end credit sequences of those shows, they merely "license the Real Housewives format owned by Bravo."
What about East Asian countries? like Japan, China, Korea, India, Singapore?
Do you think the franchise will expand?
That would be cool to see but I doubt Bravo would produce it themselves. Apparently, even Dubai was very expensive for them to produce which is part of the reason it's on hiatus now.
It’s rather unlikely. It’s more expensive including having to fly the women to NYC for reunions. Dubai was made BECAUSE one of the women (Stanbury) was already known to the bravo viewing audience via Ladies of London
The Real Housewives of Durban should’ve been on the network. US Housewives fans would’ve ate that up. It was so good.
S1 of Durban was on Peacock for a while, but they never added S2 before taking it all off completely. Cheshire aired the first season (at least -- did any more air?) on Bravo on Saturday afternoons back in the day. The first 3 seasons of Melbourne aired on Bravo, with 2 and 3 airing during primetime, the most successful international franchise to air in the US.
Unfortunately, the US never got to experience Auckland (obvious reason there) or Vancouver (devastating tragedy), and while Johannesburg has always been a hot mess production with main castmembers just appearing and disappearing at random throughout each season, it is a shame most Americans never got to experience such Housewives icons as Christall Kay or Brinnette Seopela, with a special shout-out to S1 Friend Lerika Kleinhans for bringing the campiest Guest character performance with her ham-fisted S2 appearance as Christall's iconic "favourite two-faced bestie" (they were NOT friends in S1 or S2, but Christall and Brinnette were the only 2 S2 returning HWs, and Lerika would have made even less sense as "Brinnette's Friend" 🤣).^†
^† For those who never watched, Christall introduces Lerika during a group event as her "favourite two-faced bestie" while giving her a strong look, repeatedly calls Lerika "two-faced" during the event, and Lerika then turns on Christall and starts shit-talking Christall the first chance she gets!
I used a vpn to watch Johannesburg a couple years back. However I wanted to watch season 3 and the other two seasons again so I paid for a vpn and Showmax. To watch RHOJ & Ultimate girls trip: SA. I’m a Lethabo Lejoy & Mrs. Mops fan so I am going to watch everything they are in then watch RHO Lagos which seemed like it would have been good when it came out.
I knew about S1 being on Peacock. S2 was on there as well around holiday 2022. I watched the other two seasons on YouTube TV before they were removed last year. I just think they deserved a rollout and marketing strategy like Melbourne
Its still so good! I'm waiting for Hayu to get season 5.
I hope it comes to YouTube TV like 3&4 did before they yanked them down. Otherwise, I might have to join you on Hayu!
Suggest a good, light hearted series to watch on Netflix that keeps me hooked and entertained as well. Would be even more great if it’s a highly loved or maybe underrated one that I’m missing out on!
Mentioning some that I’ve watched to avoid any confusion : FRIENDS, Brooklyn 99, the Office, Ginny & Georgia, Never have I ever, Emily in Paris, The Royals, Mismatched (I must be missing out on a few here!!)
Grace & Frankie
The Good Place
Superstore (not as funny as B99)
The Office (a bit cringe and hard to get into… edit: oops, I see you’ve already listed it)
Seinfeld (some jokes would be considered distasteful now but it generally holds up!)
A Man on the Inside
Seconding The Good Place
Haha yes, the office wasn’t very likeable in the start for me as well, but it slowly grows on you I guess. Thanks for the other suggestions though! ✨
Definitely Girls5eva!
Sure, noted! 🥹
Suits, same day next year, hacks, nobody wants this
Thank you so much! But I can’t find “same day next year” on Netflix! :(
Sorry its called One Day 😅
The Good Place
Derry girls super light and funng saktong feel good lang 💕
Alrightyyy, thanksss!!!
What is the best reality show on netflix? Something really suspenseful. I just watched Million Dollar Secret and I loved it. I know its not the real, but I would love something simmilar to watch.
You're welcome! If you end up checking it out please come back and let me know what you think. It's definitely one of a kind when it comes to reality shows. And it's such an interesting look at what isolation does to people. We are truly social creatures.
The devils plan! The contestants are all so nice and smart. I loved it!
Probably the best of the bunch, in terms of complex gameplay.
Survivor is too addicting that I have to stop myself from starting another season.
If you watched squid games, the game show version was WILD. I also liked the mole. I could not turn Selling the city off.
It's not produced by Netflix but I would highly suggest checking out the show Alone on there. It's by far the best reality show I've ever seen.
Agreed!!! I’m a girly girl and love not camping. Lol Alone is one of my favorite shows ever! The contestants are badass and totally my hero’s.
Oh it's one of my favorites too! It's such a fascinating look at what isolation does to the human mind. My favorites are the big buff dudes that come on there talking about how badass they are and 4 weeks in they are crying because they miss their wives and kids and dogs.
Hooked on Alone. If you are an outdoor sort of person and enjoy nature this is awesome.
The Trust
The Mole
Surviving Paradise
The Circle
Thanks
The circle was not that interesting after the first season
The first season was the best 👌

It's not in the same reality series genre, but I just completed the recently-dropped season 2 of 'The Exchange' on Netflix and loved it - that one's a drama series loosely based on the first women stock traders in Kuwait in the late 1980s. While that's set almost 40 years ago, I felt some of the 'living in the Middle East' nuances that get glossed over in a reality show like Dubai Bling - how divorced women are on the edge to retain custody of their kids - are explored in more detail there.
Are they all on Netflix?
Here are few list of title, filtered from above (that you can watch on Netflix)
Thank you! 😊
these are the ones ive seen this year. gonna group them by countries:
USA
Vanderpump Rules
The Challenge
Ex On The Beach US
Are You The One?
Survivor
Floribama Shore
UK
Love Island

this year bbcan 6, cbb us, challenge 31, challenge vs stars 3, cbb uk 22, and currently airing bb us 20, challenge 32, bb uk 19. attempting to start amazing race canada 6
i tried Celebrity Big Brother UK 22 and started The Amazing Race from scratch.
i did not like any of them
The TV elitists are out in full force today! You do you OP.
whats funny is i watch whatever they consider the best of the best. i just enjoy Reality TV as well
Big brother and survivor
None.
Does Impractical Jokers count as a "reality" show? That's pretty much the only thing I can think of, but even in that case, I've only turned random episodes on in the background while I've done other stuff (and only very occasionally).
Thank you u/Summerrtt for making me aware of a new show! Link to their post
How many of us watch other shows that will be pulled from to cast this new show?
Not really the same at all, but since we are talking about Netflix reality I would recommend everyone watch Love on the Spectrum. It's incredibly funny and heartwarming.
Yes! I enjoyed the new US season. I just wish it was longer. I adored Abbey
Thanks for this recommendation! I saw your comment earlier today and now when I was scrolling through Netflix I saw it and am on Episode 2 already :)
only the circle, i don’t like the dating shows. i prefer shows with a competition or strategy aspect to them, which a lot of the netflix ones don’t
not on netflix, but you would love The Survivor if you haven't watched it already. I recommend watching it on Hulu since the seasons on Netflix aren't the best.
I have watched all of the "Big 3" of the pandemic: The Circle, Love is Blind, Too Hot to Handle and I enjoy them in that order.
By far the best Netflix "reality" show though is "Dating Around" It has such a good flow, super diverse and is just the most authentic portrayal of dating in the real world compared to other shows.
I tried watching "Dating Around" but had to quit in the middle of the first episode because of how the one woman was eating. It was awful and made me super uncomfortable.
very confusing and weird: Basically a bunch of people are told they are GOING to be on a Big Brother like reality show, but haven't officially been casted yet. They are told they are in the final casting round and must live in the unfinished house for the last phase of interviews. Meanwhile they don't know that they have been casted for the show and that this IS the reality show, and they are being filmed and recorded the whole time. I gave up on it tbh. Gave me a headache. Too bright and confusing.
The Circle UK isn’t a Netflix show, it’s the original show by Channel 4 in the UK :D
oop my bad! I guess they won't pull from it for the new show but hopefully it's still interesting to see who has watched it :)
No problem 😄
I haven’t watch the new US version that was just released though, so can’t watch fot it’s quality, only the original australian one.
Insiders España
Some friends and I want to drink and watch something totally stupid. We're here for the scandals, the love affairs, and the drama. What's guaranteed to make us laugh?
90 day fiance- any of the series
Any of the 'below deck' franchise
Love is blind
The ultimatum
Completely stupid and very entertaining
Love Below deck and 90 days
There’s a fake reality that kept me laughing so hard it hurt, it’s called Lunatics! The same actor plays all the characters, in kind of a mockumentary style.
He has a number of other shows that pop up on streaming services once in a while. Some are a tad more or less controversial. Summer Heights High is my favorite.
Highly recommend his other show Summer Heights High and Ja'aime Private School Girl. It's similar concept of Chris lilley playing different characters and they're all hilarious. Mr. G is my favorite and Ja'aime.
Dubai bling is so bad its good
This is the correct answer for this question. Two seasons where you have very dysfunctional people trying to pretend they are friends. Then you have a billionare trying to be around friends in this commotion and just feels like these social gatherings are waste of her time.
Young, famous and African is a step up I’d say!
I made less than half an episode because it was just to frustratingly annoying. I might give it another go.
It's one of those shows that I'm sad I don't get to see more of and at the same time fine with it ending after two seasons. 3-4 seasons with the same cast runs the risk of it getting stale. I do wish they did more of these mockumentaries though.
selling LA (i think thats what it is) with chrishelle and all the los angeles realtors is horribly awesome
American vandal is satire of true crime docs though. I love it and don’t watch realities so I doubt it’s what op is looking for to watch with people. I’d get annoyed if people talked over it as I tried to figure out who drew the dicks lol
Are you the one?. . Married at first sight. . The ultimatum . . Love island.
oh nice married at first sight is such a fun show to watch. are the rest on netflix?
They are!
This post speaks to my heart. Some that haven't been named yet:
Love on the Spectrum
My Unorthodox Life
Selling Sunset
Floribama Shore
Love is blind! I actually enjoy it tho, but then again, I enjoy all the worst reality tv.
Love is blind
The perfect match
oohhh okay will check those out thank you
Watch love is blind first bc perfect match has some people from love is blind in it
Outlast.
Let's be honest, if you watched this show you're either obsessed with reality TV or you like one of the people on the show. This is not a great show, even netflix knows it there was basically no budget. However, it did bring together a community of people who live for messy shit and I love that.
Do any of y'all know any other reality shows that are like this? I've watched AYTO, the challenge, survivor, circle, THTH, the ultimatum, love island and a little bit of dated and related. So if y'all have any good recs please share.
Not the bachelor tho, i need evenish amounts of testosterone and estrogen.
Edit: I forgot to mention LIB, singles inferno, Fboy island, 20somethings austin, and every version of THTH (US/UK, Brazil, Latino, Germany)
I love my trash tv. It’s my guilty pleasure. That’s why I watched this whole show even though it’s a bit meh.
My favourite trash tv show ever: 90 Day Fianc é and all their spin-offs. 100% recommend it if you’re into trash tv too.
Yes and the pillow talk one’s are my favs. I also love baddies west and darcey and Stacy and mama June road to redemption excellent trash tv. Oh and crazy in love with blueface
Too hot to handle - germany
Those folks are weird as heck.
ooh, i saw tht show. i lowk thought tht one couple was a bit much, but each to their own.
Married at First Sight. Watch the early seasons for love, & the later seasons for DRAMA.
This^^ haha Also, 90 day fiancé
Temptation island it’s either on peacock or paramount plus
Was going to say this! It’s on Peacock
ooh ive heard abt tht great rec from show description !! thank you:))
Did you watch Love Is Blind? Season 1 is fun and messy.
yes i did, forgot abt tht one. i absolutely live for when amber called jessica shiesty at the reunion 😭
