Mitsubishi Outlander
The Mitsubishi Outlander is often highlighted as a good value option among Mitsubishi's SUV lineup. It is appreciated for its aesthetic appeal and brand history, especially in the "Outlander" model line [2:1]. However, some users note that it may not be the most technologically advanced compared to competitors
[2:3]. The Outlander is also praised for its spacious interior and fuel efficiency, making it a convenient choice for family use
[2:5].
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
The Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) is particularly noted for being one of the best bang-for-your-buck hybrids on the market [4:2]. It combines the benefits of an electric vehicle with the versatility of an SUV, making it a strong contender for those looking for eco-friendly options without sacrificing utility.
Mitsubishi Montero Sport/Pajero Sport
The Montero Sport, also known as the Pajero Sport or Challenger in different markets, is another popular SUV from Mitsubishi. It is based on the Triton platform and is known for its ruggedness and off-road capabilities [5:1]. Despite its discontinuation in some regions, it remains a legend among SUVs due to its durability and performance
[5:3].
Challenges and Considerations
Mitsubishi has faced challenges in maintaining popularity, particularly in North America. Historical scandals regarding defect cover-ups have impacted their reputation [4:1], and there are concerns about the availability of dealerships and service centers in certain areas
[4:7]. Additionally, Mitsubishi's focus on other industries may have led to fewer innovations in their automotive offerings compared to other brands
[4:6].
Conclusion
For those considering a Mitsubishi SUV, the Outlander and Outlander PHEV are solid choices for their value and hybrid technology, respectively. The Montero Sport offers robust off-road capabilities for those needing a more rugged vehicle. However, potential buyers should consider dealership availability and service options in their region before making a purchase.
I'm on stage 3 moon with 1600 cat food and I'm wondering if I should spend it on this event or should I wait for ultra souls.
Also 2 extra questions:
should should I save 11 rare tickets for guaranteed uber od does it not work like that?
If I didn't previously spend cat food on rare tickets am I able to get 2 guaranteed ubers from this event for discounted price? (2x 750)
You cannot use rare tickets for an eleven roll. Neo best of the best however, is much less common than ultra souls, only appearing in special events. It's one of the best sets to roll, but in a few weeks, there will be an event called 'superfest' on, and that is probably what you should save your rare tickets for.
Can u give me a short list of best events I should spend on? (With guaranteed uber)
Anything with 'fest' in the name, anything with a guaranteed eleven draw, and the best banners to roll (other than the fest's) are the almightys, the dynamites, and ultra souls. The ones you shouldn't roll is pretty much just the nekolugas. As said previously, superfest is coming up soon (early October), so I'd say save your tickets for that.
Actually it's far from being one of the best banners. Most of the Ubers are either very mid or just decent. Only roll if you really want Agent Staal.
I stand corrected. Wait for superfest
I heard both of the best of the best banners don't have 100% guaranteed Uber rolls on them
Oh you are right
Which is really good.
>"Premium" Medium SUV
Eh, if anything this is on the lower-budget spectrum of medium SUV, karena medium SUV yang properly premium itu di segmennya CR-V, CX-8 dan Santa Fe
Bro melupakan eksistensi Outlander PHEV
Hehehehehe.
Still can't get over the GTA ahhh name, the "Destinator" made by Maibatsu
But yeah, what's keeping out of this is the CVT, I don't like how it feels when driving and probably never will. It's really weird for me that Mitsubishi advertises this as a tough outdoorsy car but has CVT and FWD.
The design is really spot on though. The best design Mitsubishi have in their current line up.
Wah boleh nih buat nemenin Maibatsu Penumbra (Eclipse Gen 3 KW GTA) hahahahaha.
I got your point. When driving this car, i feel so "WEIRD" like too many things that shouldn't be there when I'm driving (electronic interventions other than ADAS such as AYC). I guess they're trying to hide their "ride quality weaknesses".
Mobil SUV itu terbagi 2 kategori bang. Yaitu SUV perkotaan yang diberi sedikit kemampuan offroad (CR-V, X-Trail, Mercedes GL classes, BMW Xs, etc) dan SUV offroad yang diberi sedikit kemampuan jalan raya (Fortuner, Pajero, Jeep Wrangler, Land Rover Defender, dll). Mobil ini masuk ke kategori pertama hehehehe
The cars you mentioned (well maybe the CRV and 3rd gen Xtrail) were designed and have the capability to do actual off road stuff. Bring them to Kalimantan and they would fare well.
This feels like advertising a gaming laptop just because it can run minesweeper well.
Idk, I'm nitpicking, CVTs with FWD doesn't really match with these terrain functions. But seeing how Mitsubishi doing globally, yeaaaah.... they need all the gimmicks they can get
I am surprised lu bilang suspensinya ok, i was expecting it to be kinda a disaster wkwkkw toh ground clearance yng aga over, well probably faktor AYC juga
I don’t get it. The Mitsubishi Outlander seems to be a good value option. But for some reason it has become a somewhat forgotten brand.
There are 314 Mitsubishi dealers in the US. By comparison there are 2840 Ford dealers. I dont even know where the closest Mitsubishi dealer is. After looking it up it's 200 miles away. I do see Mitsubishi cars on the road, I'd never buy a new one with the warranty work being 200 miles away. I'd have to drive past at least 5 Ford dealers. Within 5 miles of me there is VW, Ford, every GM brand, CDJR, Mercedes, Kia, Hyundai, Subaru, Toyota, Honda. The only other brands I'd have to drive maybe 150 miles for are Audi and BMW. I could maybe see making an effort for a BMW, but nobody's jumping through hoops for a Mitsubishi.
All this is facts. I spent my last year with a Japanese company servicing all the Mitsubishi dealers West of Texas. It's really too bad because I haven't enjoyed a vehicle much more than I did the Hybrid Outlander in a long time. It's probably your best bang for your buck hybrid on the market.
That being said. My worry is if I bought one is they would close up shop and leave the US market like Suzuki. Then you're in a world of hurt if you need repairs or body work. That's enough info for me to stay away.
It's only not popular in north america. Everywhere else, Mitsubishi is still fairly popular.
They aren't bad cars at all. They just aren't pushing out new designs like the other Japanese brands. Mitsubishi is a MASSIVE company. They don't only build cars, but quite literally everything else. No joke some of the things they are involved in will blow you away. So I guess that they aren't focusing as much on cars as they used to. Which sucks, cause they built some sick cars in the 80s 90s, and early 2000s.
Mitsubishi isn't "a" company. It's kind of confusing to people outside SE Asia, but most of the companies with Mitsubishi in the name and the 3 Red Diamond logo are entirely unrelated to each other, except that they have some distant origins where they were more closely linked. They say they share "core values," and clearly share the logo, but that's about it.
They operate autonomously but they are all technically Mitsubishi and they all own large amounts of each other and they do all talk to each other. Really it’s three major Mitsubishi companies that operate an extremely large amount of subsidiaries and then like a dozen stand-alone companies
This will help ..
Mitsubishi barely exists here in Europe. They have the space star and some SUV, thats it. Their 'newer' cars are rebadged Renaults.
For example, Mitsubishi makes the best pencils I’ve ever used! Seriously—they write perfectly, sharpening is as smooth as silk, and even manage to smell fantastic.
The new Outlander is very good with a top tier sound system. The only thing that lets it down is the CVT
It is surprisingly important for these kind of brands to have a sporty car in their lineup. Acura had until recently the NSX, Toyota brought back the Supra and has had the 86/FRS, Ford has the Mustang, Chevy the Camero, Subaru the WRX/BRZ. A refreshed well engined Lancer or Eclipse Spyder would be decently well received in my opinion.
I'm a Subaru guy, but even I would be interested in a new Lancer. The last generation one was fun to take on a test drive.
Well, in the 2000s, it was revealed that Mitsubishi had engaged in a massive cover-up of major defects & flaws in their vehicles -- "one of the largest corporate scandals in Japanese history" -- going all the way back to the 1970s.
It obviously shattered their brand & reputation and they were forced to recall & fix hundreds of thousands of vehicles for free. In an effort to boost sales & recover, the company offered cars at $0 down, 0% interest, and no payments for 12 months. To no one's surprise but Mitsubishi's, a lot of people drove a free car for 1 year and then defaulted on the loan which left Mitsubishi stuck with thousands of used cars and $0 to show for it.
The brand was hurt bad. They had to close a bunch of manufacturing plants around the world and they stopped selling in many countries entirely.
They have never fully recovered but they are still trying. Today, there still aren't a ton of Mitsubishi dealerships around which makes it less attractive for buyers. I certainly don't want to drive like 2 hours to the only dealership in my area.
The actual vehicles tend to be only slightly above average in terms of quality & reliability. At that point, most buyers would rather spend a little more on a Toyota, Honda, Mazda, and have a much stronger network of dealers, parts, and service.
The official car of the “let’s name our car something vaguely Latin-sounding so that consumers think they're buying something exotic” marketing strategy.

I always see Toyota, Honda, and Mazda being recommended. I get it, they're good cars, but are there any issues with Mitsubishi? Isn't it a Japanese cars too?
Owned a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Gt. Reliable car for 10 years, nothing but fluid changes and brakes. Reliable car and best bang for your buck. $25k OTD for a 7 seater.120k on the ODO
The big auto publications don't rate Mitsubishi highly because their lineup is dated and their cars are utilitarian and slow. But it is in part because they are dated, that they are reliable. If it ain't broke, don't fix it - they are very much like Toyota in this regard.
People also make the mistake of lumping them with Nissan which is a mistake. For example, Mitsubishi also used the Jatco CVTs that Nissan did in 2010s but didn't experience as many failures. Why? Because Mitsubishi tunes them differently: INVECS-III instead of Xtronic. Mitsu also tended to pair the CVTs with smaller displacement, lower torque engines and light cars. It's notable how for the 6-cyl Outlander they chose to install a regular auto trans, whereas Nissan was happy to plop CVTs in on everything, even the Quest minivan. It's also notable how the Rogue switched to a turbo-3-cyl engine, but Mitsu chose to stick with a 4-cyl NA for this latest generation Outlander. These design choices are revealing. Their PHEV powertrain is so good, that Nissan is going to use it in the Rogue next year, and the Delica is coming back soon in PHEV form.
Because everybody thinks poorly of Mitsubishi (or doesn't think of them at all), they have very high depreciation. Reliable cars, at great prices.
People don't want a nuanced answer this like this. Well said. I recommend Mitsubishi sometimes in this because they are often a forgotten brand. They aren't unreliable. They aren't necessarily remarkable. But they could be a solid choice for someone looking for a car with some decent features that doesn't cost them top dollar.
Personally I'd never pay $50k for one, but for some of their smaller offerings, especially used, you can find yourself a really good deal.
Mitsubishi is dead in the United States. Their dealerships are few and far between and their lineup is terrible. Automotive is a very, very small portion of Mitsubishi's business and it feels like more of a side project for them and they don't really care. They're in my top three most likely to pull out of North America completely soon (with FIAT and Alfa Romeo).
Mitsubishi is a massive conglomerate. They are into shipbuilding, banking, chemical industry, aircrafts, agriculture, airconditioners, railways. Really everything. However because of this cars do not receive a lot of attention at board meetings and the automotive business got neglected lately. Their car lineup is very conservative, to say the least. The last innovative Mitsubishi product was possibly their EV experiment, the i-MIEV, but as quickly as they got into EVs they left the idea immediately and went back to making whatever the dealers could sell (mostly SUVs).
Much like other Japanese car makers they were also caught up in cheating scandals which did the company no good, so what was left of the development budget got erased even further. I'd imagine the Mitsubishi engineering team as a group of self-blaming corporate servants that keep apologizing to their superiors to keep their jobs, but ultimately cannot get the buisness back on track. Mitubishis may not be bad cars, but they aren't competitive either - they only really exist because they can get the plastic, turbocharger and other parts relatively cheaply from other Mitsubishi companies, thus increasing the overall value created within the Mitsubishi ecosystem.
I've had a ton of mitsubishis. All the reviews say the outlander sport is slow but in real life applications, it was fine. In fact, its pretty responsive off the line since it doesn't have a turbo.
A local dealer here is offering 30yr/300k mile warranties on all new Mitsubishi vehicles
That's a big part of Mitsubishi's image problem in the US - they went after the sub-prime credit market a while ago. They ended up with lots of repo'd cars to re-sell, which hurts the residual value for all Mitsubishi.
Tons of them - turbochargers, alternators, electric motors, oil, etc. They aren't amongst the big tier 1 suppliers like Bosch or Denso that work directly with manufacturers during development phase, but I'd be fairly confident in saying that whichever car brand you buy it's almost certain to contain a few Mitsubishi parts.
My biggest regret was not buying a 2020 Mirage. Pre-Covid, they were like 16K (Canadian) out the door for the base model. A perfect little backup car. Once Covid struck, the price, like everything else, skyrocketed. I don’t know if they ever came down, but I always lament not picking one up for the funzies while they were dirt cheap.
Not only that but they also tend to stock and sell more used cars from other brands then new Mitsubishis 🧐
I’ve seen plenty of lambos, Bentleys, G Wagons, other high priced cars being sold by Mitsubishi dealers here in the NYC area they basically jump on whatever is the latest car craze/trend 😂
Mitsubishi engines are crazy reliable, and so are most of their vehicles. In the USA we only get a few of their smaller models and there aren’t many dealers.
My 2004 Mitsubishi Montero has been crazy reliable and is plugging away with nearly 250k. You also see quite a few older Outlanders that have been neglected but are still alive.
In a lot of foreign countries, Mitsubishi is right up there with Toyota and Honda in terms of reliability

Hi! I'm looking at getting a mitsubishi outlander sport as a first car. Would you guys recommend it in regards of safety and durability
Yes, 100% I had a 2016 and drove it for 100k miles with minimal maintenance. Reliable af
Yep! Just do typical maintenance and a transmission fluid service every 30k and you’ll be good!
Made in japan, can't go wrong
This fwiw
My 2017 I bought new has 140k, runs like new. Zero problems. It got good safety ratings if I recall, but do not quote me. All I know is I have had Hondas, Subaru, Acura, Chevy, Mitsu, Dodge, VW and Nissan, and I think this is my most trouble free car of my life. Note though, I did ALL the recommended maintenance, and with the dealer, they were not much more than a private mechanic, Tranny oil changes, spark plugs, oil, tires, brake lines....Mitsu has had up and down rep, ( I didnt know about) but we had Mitsus when I was a kid and you see them all over Asia and Latin Am and Mid east, so I thought they were like a Honda or something. Anyway, for me it has been the perfect car. I am going for 200k. But this is just my experience.
Hi all, sorry for posting a question that I'm fairly certain gets asked, but is the group consensus that Mitsubishis have excellent reliability? I have a Subaru Crosstrek 110k miles with a ridiculously undiagnoseable problem--dealer is incompetent and deceptive, other top mechanics here are head scratching. I drove the eclipse cross and fell in serious like with it, and will probably go for an Outlander, but I'm curious about the experience that people have had with reliability. I see tons of them in my city, among my fellow Latinx-Caribbean types, so that's good. Well anyway, thanks for any help you can give.
I have owed 3 Mitsubishi’s since 2019 and none have given me issues.
The Outlander is their best vehicle and I currently own a 2024. I traded in the Eclipse Cross, just grew tired of it. Again zero issues. If buying new they come with 2 years of standard maintenance included. 10/100,000 powertrain warranty and 5/60,000 bumper to bumper.
As folks will say on the CVT change it every 30,000 miles and get the oil changed every 7500 or 10,000 miles and you’ll be fine.
I had a 09 Lancer GTS from 2009 to 2021 and never had an issue. Looked and drove brand new. All scheduled maintenance done. Only reason I don't have it is because it was rear ended.
That said I bought another one for my daughter.
Car is good, dealerships kinda suck.
I got a 08 lancer es no issues and this has reminded me I'm due for a check up on mine
I have a mirage and this car can handle a lot of abuse ,costs next to nothing to maintain the only thing about cvts are the fluid change other than that these cars are quite solid.
Between my lance and my mom's outlander we have close to 700k km. No issues on both
Mitsubishi salesman here. So far I have only seen customers come in for routine maintenance and recalls. On top of that, Mitsubishi currently offers the best warranties in the industry. 10y/100k mile powertrain, 5y/60k basic, 2y/30k maintenance, and 5y unlimited miles roadside assistance. The outlanders are my favorite. The PHEVs are awesome, especially if you can use the incentives and rebates with leasing to your advantage. The eclipse cross is what I would go with if I wanted something smaller. Both models feel pretty luxurious if you get the SEL trims. Still packed with plenty of tech and safety features in lower trims as well. As someone who would have never considered the brand, I am definitely impressed.
I'm looking up car brands and I noticed I heard nothing about mitsubishi from anyone? Sure, Honda and Toyota are top of the list but researching my options and noticed no one says anything about mitsubishi?
Imo Mitsubishi is super reliable. My dad has driven Mitsubishi for more than 25 years (10 years a Galant and 15 years a Pajero).
The only thing is, i have learned from few folks from the auto repair business that you should only get the models which have been in Kuwait since a long time (Galant, Lancer, Pajero, Outlander etc) and not the new ones (Xpander, Montero Sport etc) due to availability of parts.
I agree, my dad has been driving his pajero for more than 10 years. I bought my outlander five years ago and is still going strong! Moreover, the parts are easily available and affordable.
The spare parts of mitsubishi are a hassle. For some reason they are not available with 3rd party stores, so you have to shell out money.
They are reliable cars and will last a long time provided you get regular maintenance done. The only issue is with spare parts.
Really i did not expect that.
Imo, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Nissan are pretty good brands, just that people prefer Toyota & Honda more when it comes to reliability for long term.
I can only speak for the EX, best car I owned
I've never heard anyone complain about Toyota, Honda or Mitsubishi. You can never go wrong with Japanese brands.
best mitsubishi SUV
