TL;DR
Natural Perfume Brands
Several natural perfume brands are praised for their long-lasting scents. Heretic Parfum is frequently mentioned as a standout brand, offering naturally derived ingredients that last all day [1:3]. Other recommended brands include Kumba Made, known for its long-lasting fragrance oils like Water Lily
[1:5]
[1:10], and Living Libations, which provides a range of natural perfumes
[1:1].
Ingredients for Longevity
Certain natural ingredients are noted for their lasting power. Resins such as labdanum, benzoin, and myrrh are known to have impressive staying power [2:5]. Oakmoss and patchouli are also highlighted as long-lasting components in natural fragrances
[2:8]. These ingredients can help extend the life of a perfume without the need for synthetic additives.
Perfume Application Tips
To maximize the longevity of your perfume, consider application techniques. Applying perfume to well-moisturized skin or using a lotion or Vaseline on pulse points can help the scent last longer [3:2]. Spraying on clothes or hair can also extend the fragrance's presence throughout the day
[3:2]. Layering similar scented products can create a more robust scent profile
[3:2].
Exploring Niche Options
For those willing to explore niche markets, there are options beyond mainstream brands. Solstice Scents offers oil-based perfumes that are less likely to trigger sensitivities and provide a closer-to-skin wear [1:2]. Additionally, exploring smaller perfumers through platforms like Integrity Botanicals and Detox Market can yield unique, natural fragrances
[1:6].
Community Recommendations
The community suggests trying out samples from various brands to find what works best for you. This approach allows you to test different scents without committing to a full bottle, ensuring that the fragrance suits both your preferences and your body's chemistry [1:3].
Hey everyone, I am a big perfume gal. I love perfumes that last forever and receive complements... lol. I have gotten more into health and honestly wearing normal perfume (EX: coach, Chanel, Versace, etc.) makes my stomach hurt so bad and gives me a terrible headache.
I really want to be able to find a non toxic, low chemical, natural, perfume that is not super harmful to the lungs that smells super strong and lasts forever. I don't even know if this exists tbh but PLEASE let me know any brands that you guys have found. I really miss smelling "good" but I just can't handle the harsh chemicals anymore :(
Heretic Parfum does all naturally derived ingredients in their scents. I would also recommend that you check out some oil based perfumes. They wear a little closer to the skin, but as someone who can be sensitive to scent I find that oil formats are far less triggering than a traditional alcohol based spray; even oils that use synthetic fragrance molecules. Off the top of my head, I know that Solstice Scents and Possets have some perfume oils that are 100% botanical. Another botanical perfume house is Strange Invisible. Hope you find something you love!
I came back to comment on this after I read it a week ago. I tried three different perfume brands from this thread (ordered samples and tried them out). My partner and I both get headaches from most perfumes. Hands-down BEST was Heritic perfumes. You can order a mix and match of samples and all of them are soooo lovely and last all day. They all smell like natural scents layered into something really well-crafted. I’m hooked
I LOVE Kumba Made fragrance oils. The Water Lilly has been my go-to for years. I feel like it lasts a really long time, but I don’t wear it every day. https://kuumbamade.com/products/water-lily-fragrance-oil
I’m so glad I found this thread! Im transitioning to more natural products and I’m about to order vanilla bean oil perfume!
Oooh I've always wanted to try a perfume oil!
Kumba Made's oils last forever!
Thank you! I just bought their lavender lace! I’m so excited to try it 😀😀
You could try samples from online shops like Integrity Botanicals and Detox Market. There are lots of small perfumers now, too, that have some natural fragrances - La Curie for example. I’ve seen others but can’t recall their names now - Google searches could possibly find them. That said, many people have the same reaction you have when they’re near someone wearing strong perfume, whether it’s natural or not. I get migraines from all of them and I struggle when I’m in enclosed spaces with someone wearing them. It’s better to keep your perfume close to you and not obvious to others in public if you’ll be in enclosed spaces or close to people who can’t move away (like standing in line).
Here are some of the ones I’ve been admiring, but haven’t tried because I react to pretty much everything now (the only perfume I use is very faint): Olo Fragrance (uses minimal synthetic ingredients, mostly natural), Illuminated Perfume, Hima Jomo, Tamara Parfums
I found that Pacifica didn't last long enough for me :( but DIME looks amazing! I'm gonna go check them out.
Dime has galoloxide in some of them which is a super super toxic musk!!
Heretic Parfum, Wit & West, Living Libations, Providence Perfume, there's so many 100% natural perfumers now! Full list is here https://organicbeautylover.com/skin/best-clean-perfumes/
Seems like woods are the longest lasting natural fragrances but now I'm curious to know what are the longest lasting naturals that are not woods. I have a small selection of natural fragrances such as Rose tobacco and lavender and they're quite fleeting scents, gone within 4 hours so I'm wondering what are some good scents that are natural that have impressive lasting power.
I think four hours is pretty long lasting! I personally can’t stand long lasting perfume. I never understood why people are so obsessed with them.
But, oakmoss absolute is super long lasting! And as stated above, resins. Benzoin, Labdanum etc stick around awhile!
I think most people don't want to keep reapplying fragrances throughout the day because I think most people want to spray once throughout the day and then forget about it..also I think most consumers think long lasting = high quality which isn't necessarily true... But yah I'll have to check out some of these suggestions
I consider a perfume with no staying power to be a perfume poorly formulated. Making the fragrance last should be considered as a vital component in the recipe.
That’s what I was thinking, too. Like it’s a cost to quality ratio thing. You’ll have to let us all know what you think when you get some resins! They’re so so good.
Jasmine absolute
Really? On a website with lasting power listed on the perfume ingredients I see Jasmine listed around the same as Rose which in my experience doesn't last longer than the four hour mark
Jasmine Absolute, to me, is very fleeting. I like to extend it with some Hedione.
Resins (labdanum, benzoin, opoponax, myrrh etc.), vetiver, oakmoss and patchouli
Castoreum and civet paste (ethical issues)
Deer musk (legal and ethical issues)
Ambergris tincture
Maybe musk ambrette (haven't tried)
For the sake of clarity:
"Musk ambrette" is an old nitromusk which is banned from use nowadays.
"Ambrette seed" is a natural botanical extraction with a musky smell (almost all other natural musks are animal products) which is safe to use, but expect to pay several hundred dollars per ounce for it.
Oo I gotta try some resins
Oakmoss, treemoss, vanilla, coumarin, orris, labdanum, vetiver, patchouli and all of it's derivatives. There are tons of options
It’ll last forever as long as you don’t wash it off.
my perfumes literally never last. i’m honestly not too fussy, i just want to know what some of your recommendations of actyally strong perfumes are, again i really don’t mind what it smells like to an extent i just want it to last longer than an hour
There are techniques for extending a fragrance.
First, where are you applying? Spraying to the hair or clothes often extends
How much are you applying? You might be under spraying. Different perfumes require different amounts.
Is your skin well moisturized? Dry skin often eats up scent. Apply lotion or Vaseline to fragrance application points can extend fragrance. Future society even makes a perfume primer.
Have you tried layering? Layering means applying similar scented products to create a scent bubble. You can use complimentary perfume oils, body mists, body motions, etc..
Bianco latte is the strongest vanilla scent I have in my collection.
Baccarat rouge is pretty potent.
Escentric molecules are designed for longevity. They can be worn by themselves or easily layered with other fragrances.
thabk you !!!
I second mugler alien it lasts forever like you’ll have to change/wash your clothes to stop smelling it hahah
Ysl libre la perfum or intense versions
Aquolina Pink sugar
Br540
Really anything that says parfum has the best longevity , avoid cologne and edt
Alien will last until the next century and beyond.
A recent buy that lasts surprisingly well on me is Kate Spade Sparkle.
Zara Fields at Nightfall survived a hike of a few hours in hot Japanese summer weather.
I tested Black Opium during a very humid night hike in a rainforest in Costa Rica and it lasted very well too.
you have been on adventures omg
I have! I love going on adventures
I either have sampled or own all of these! So I can personally vouch for how lasting they are 💕
Kerosene's fragrances persist on the skin, especially Walk the Sea, Promises, Promises, and Summer of 84 in my experience.
YSL Libre Intense lives up to the name beautifully.
Nishane Wulong Cha X, Alkemia Honored Ghosts, Nest Indigo, and Chasing Scents Tea Service and Rain Tea are all tea-forward fragrances from my collection that last. 🍵 ✨️
BBW Fresh Coconut and Cotton blows my more expensive clean perfumes out of the water, and it's a fragrance mist!
Malie Koke'e is the cleanest, prettiest wet rainforest in a bottle that lasts forever! Seriously, I can't wear this unless I'm feeling truly committed to catching whiffs of this one all day. Good thing its spa-like and refreshing.
Alchemie de Rochas is this gorgeous vintage perfume that I only have to dab a little on in a couple of places, and voila, that's it! Potent and lingering.
Zoologist Bee, I sprayed on early evening and woke up still able to smell the next morning. Zoologist, in general, as a fragrance house, is simply impressive, with Hummingbird and Rabbit coming second and third in terms of sillage!!
Imaginary Authors Whiff of Wafflecone is another perfume that feels very much like a commitment. Some would call it nuclear. I like it, but I get bored of it on its own, so I choose to usually layer it with Olympic Orchids Seattle Chcolate... which also lasts.
Hopefully, something I mentioned is of interest to you!
they all sound so nice thabk you so much !!
Portrait of a Lady, Ombré Nomade, Followed, Santal 33, La Capitale, Guidance, etc..
you likely just need to fork over the cash if you want a beast mode frag. I find that dupes and designer frags rarely have eternal longevity. go niche.
I layer philosophy amazing grace and glossier you and it lasts and lasts and I get compliments all the time and am known by the smell now ☺️
Are you me? Lol I do the exact same thing!! I layer it with whatever Philosophy perfume I am feeling like that day!! FYI- Marshall’s & Tjmaxx are a great place to score with Philosophy stuff!! Unfortunately a bunch of my faves have been discontinued
If you like sweeter fruity scents Burberry Her lasts for everrr on me.
huh- i use the blossom and it doesn't last at alllll. but i love it so i do what i can.
I’ve never used the blossom one, just the original EDP
Flowerbomb Viktor&Rolf for fall and winter Daisy for for spring and summer Also this little bottle that says amber from Whole Foods its $13 but it literally says amber in the front and alcohol free fragrance on the side and has almost like an oil texture??? Idk if it counts buuuuut it smells so delicate and fresh and truly lasts all day. Idk how to describe the smell other than delicate but it’s a scent you could inhale all day and not get sick of like sweet/floral/vanilla/musky scents
For me it's bonbon. My favourite Viktor & Rolf scent. Get so many compliments. Love flowerbomb on other people but doesn't seem to suit me
I know it's not the most sophisticated option but I've had a lot of luck with Marc Jacob's Daisy. Sweet and light and floral.
ALSO! Karma from Lush - it's their best selling perfume for a reason. Orange and patchouli, real 70's incense vibes.
I love Marc Jacob’s Daisy. it really does stay!!
I legit came here to comment karma and lord of misrule from Lush And decadence from Marc Jacob's haha big fan
I just bought Lord of Misrule and it’s staying power is no joke! I lasted a whole hot afternoon and a sweaty workout, and someone came up to me at the end of my workout to ask what perfume I was wearing
I wanted to like Decadence because I love Daisy and the scent does last a long time, but it smells like bread and butter pickles to me.
Hey guys, ive been on the hunt for awhile now for an organic natural perfume that actually last all day rather then a couple minutes What're your favourite brands and scents? Would love to hear everyone's opinion
I got given a few musk blocks from overseas. I put them in my drawers with my clothing and also carry a small piece in my bra every day for the scent.

Which is your most long lasting perfume ever?
I really like warm spicy perfumes like Khamrah Qawha, Black Opium or Interdit Rouge Ultime, but also floral fragrances such as Libre Intense or Insolence, even though I am very picky, especially with the floral ones. I am such a fan of flowers, but most of the time they make them basic or so strong they give me an headache. I’ll stop yapping and tell you my problem: every perfume that I spray on me doesn’t last!! Most of the time I spray my perfume on my clothes and I feel it’s also better for my skin and health 🤌🏻
If no perfume lasts, it's probably anosmia, not the perfume.
it’s not that I can’t smell the perfume - even though I have a little problem with my nose, more related to breathing - I smell it just an hour or two and that’s it. I have a perfume that lasts much more on me (4/5 hours), but with other not at all. for curiosity I also asked a friend to smell me and she said she didn’t smell anything on me.
Delina , Ganymede extrait
What does it actually smell like? I can’t find it in any store here where I live
Which one ?

Try the original good girl! It’s a warm floral perfume that has a little mystery element to it. There’s a top note of coffee you might like considering Black opium is one of your favorites. It has pretty good lasting power!
WAIT why didn’t I smell it??? I’ve smelled the other versions but not the original I guess. It also has an almond note, which I LOVE. Thank you so much for your recommendation!
Of course!!! Let me know how you like it!
I'm thinking about buying some perfumes, which perfumes in your opinions are the longest lasting and strongest?
Your mileage may vary but the Hello Kitty perfume lasts 8 hours on me easily
You’re lucky! It’s only noticeable on me for a few hours and other reviewers on Fragrantica also agree that the sillage and lasting power is moderate; I wish I could find a longer lasting version! If this lasted longer, I’d buy multiple bottles.
Chelsea Morning. Also I have recently found that if I swipe a neutral scented massage bar on my pulse points and THEN spray perfume, it lasts much longer!
I’m going to try this with Chelsea morning. It has zero longevity for me and I love the scent so much!
Zero longevity is Chelsea Morning’s middle name.
Chelsea Morning is notoriously short lasting
not for me, it lasts all day. I actually get sick of it sometimes, it lasts so long
It’s my favorite but doesn’t last on me at allll
Does it smell diff then the shower gel?
Maybe a bit more peppery but the vanilla comes through after a bit on me
Rose Jam is great for this if you like it
LOL so real 😂
I love Valentino’s born in Roma- coral fantasy but I feel like it has no staying power. For something so expensive I’d rather try something else. What are the longest lasting perfumes you guys have tried?
Are you buying eau de parfum or eau de toilette? Because EDP will stay much longer than the equivalent EDT.
The Valentino is eau de parfum! I just feel like it only lasts an hour or so. I’d gladly pay more for something that lasts longer and smells similar!
Pure Poison by Dior is one of my absolute faves (very spicy and warm). Daisy by Marc Jacobs is a great one, too. Bella Blanca by Oscar De La Renta is another spring favy. Rose Radiant Gold by Michael Kors is divine (a summer favorite). For a clean scent, Happy by Clinique. For an every day scent that fades nicely, Arsenic by Tokyo Milk.
YSL - Libro - my favourite
Kors by Michael Kors. Just stay away from musk and mothballs that's way to strong.
Every perfume I’ve tried by the brand Kilian lasts forever and a little goes a longgggg way. My favorites are “Black Phantom” and “Love”.
Burberry her elixer! Usually my skin eats up perfume so fast but istg this one stays on for 24 hours, can smell it when im going to bed after spraying in the morning. Plus it smells delicious.
100% same! I always get compliments hours after I’ve sprayed it. I love it
1000% same!! I just commented this. I just ordered a new bottle after getting a $40 gift card and I can’t wait.
YSL Libre intense. It lasts so long that it becomes me
This is the answer! I shower and still smell it on me THE NEXT DAY 😂
Killian angel share. I can still smell it on my skin the next morning and on my jacket/hoodie several days later.
Yes! Which I’m good with, because it’s one of my favorites, so I know I can get a lot of lasting wear and make my bottles last longer 😝
Came here to say this one too, Fortunately, I love it.
Non-Sephora: Finer'y's Cherry, the due for Tom Ford's Lost Cherry. Sticks around forever.
Oh, I was on another thread looking for lost cherry dupes so this is perfect. Is that fine'ry not another cherry? It's the closest I could find googling.
Word. I have to use this so sparingly because it's so potent.
Great scent, though.
Chanel parfums in general
If I spray Chanel on my clothes it will stick forever until I wash them. The price is way worth it imo
best natural long lasting perfumes
Key Considerations for Natural Long-Lasting Perfumes:
Ingredients: Look for perfumes made with natural essential oils and botanical extracts. Avoid synthetic fragrances, which can be less skin-friendly and may not last as long.
Concentration: Higher concentrations of fragrance oils (like parfum or extrait) typically last longer than eau de toilette or eau de cologne.
Base Notes: Choose perfumes with strong base notes (like sandalwood, vanilla, or amber) as they tend to linger longer on the skin.
Skin Type: Your skin type can affect how long a fragrance lasts. Oily skin tends to hold scents better than dry skin, so consider applying a moisturizer before applying perfume.
Application Method: Apply perfume to pulse points (wrists, neck, behind ears) and consider layering with matching body lotion for enhanced longevity.
Recommendations:
Le Labo Santal 33: A cult favorite with a warm, woody scent that combines sandalwood, cedar, and leather. It's known for its lasting power and unique character.
Byredo Gypsy Water: This fragrance features notes of bergamot, juniper berries, and vanilla, creating a fresh yet warm scent that lasts well throughout the day.
Herbivore Botanicals Jasmine Body Oil: While not a traditional perfume, this oil has a lovely jasmine scent and is made with natural ingredients, providing a long-lasting fragrance experience.
Tocca Florence: A floral fragrance with notes of gardenia and green apple, known for its elegant scent and decent longevity.
Choosing a natural perfume may require some trial and error, as longevity can vary based on individual skin chemistry. Always test a fragrance on your skin before committing to ensure it lasts and smells great on you!
