TL;DR
Wedge Pillows
Wedge pillows are frequently mentioned as a solution for snoring. These pillows elevate the head, which can help open up airways and reduce snoring. Users have reported success with wedge pillows, noting improved sleep quality and reduced snoring [1:2],
[1:5],
[3:0]. While wedge pillows might not be suitable for stomach sleepers
[3:2], they are versatile and can also be used for reading or watching TV in bed
[1:5].
Knockout Pillow
The Knockout pillow has received positive feedback for its ability to reduce snoring. One user mentioned that this pillow significantly improved their snoring issue, leading to better sleep for both them and their partner [1:3]. This pillow seems to be a reliable option for those struggling with snoring.
Custom and Adjustable Pillows
Custom pillows, such as those from Fluff, have been noted for their ability to reduce snoring. These pillows allow users to adjust the thickness and firmness, providing personalized comfort and support [1:4],
[1:7]. The Coop Home Goods Cooling Eden pillow is another adjustable option that allows users to modify the filling for optimal comfort
[4:1].
Orthopedic and Cervical Pillows
Orthopedic and cervical pillows, like the Yippo Labs orthopedic cervical pillow, are designed to support various sleeping positions and have been recommended for reducing snoring [4:2]. These pillows provide targeted support and may help maintain proper alignment during sleep, potentially alleviating snoring.
Other Considerations
While pillows can be effective, other solutions like mouth tape, breathe right strips, or even adjusting the bed frame to create a slight incline might also help reduce snoring [1:8],
[2:1],
[2:2]. Additionally, addressing underlying issues such as nasal blockages or seeking medical advice through a sleep study could be beneficial
[5:5].
My husband said he doesn't want to try a chin strap or mouth guard. I can't wear ear plugs because the muffled sound gives me anxiety. Is there a gentle solution like a good pillow?
His nose blocks up and then he exhales with loud noises. Like a steam release. It makes me jump awake and gives me anxiety. I can get him to roll to his side and he won't do it. But he'll just roll back to his back and I'll watch him and wait. Without fail, the steam release noises start!
I got this one for my partner since they're a heavy snorer. It looked weird since it's a wedge pillow but they've gotten better sleep than they have for years.
Highly recommend!

I hate that they are on reddit. I feel like that's all the comments with links.
Yes. The Knockout pillow singlehandedly saved my marriage (almost not joking lol). I have always snored loud as fuck when I am super tired and it drives my wife crazy. She used to buy me a new pillow like every other month in hopes one of them would help my snoring. She bought me this pillow and I'm currently still using over a year ago and we haven't switched since. I still occasionally snore but my wife swears by the pillow and says it has added like ten hours of sleep per week lol.
Edit: Typo
Hey! Struggling with this. Confirming you mean the organic shredded latex and kapok pillow? What pillow did you switch out from, and do you know how it specifically changed your positioning and eliminated the snoring? I ask because I currently have an generic but old knock off memory foam one that looks like it has similar dimensions to this one. But it's a pretty penny but worth it if it truly does help..
My husband started using mouth tape. Game changer.
That's a thing?
I ordered a custom thick pillow from Fluff and it's been great! Really helped reduce my snoring and super comfortable.
Feel you on the snoring struggles. We tried everything from earplugs to white noise to separate bedrooms (not fun). Finally decided to give a wedge pillow a shot.
Its designed to elevate your head, which supposedly opens up your airways and reduces snoring. Don't know the science, but I'll take a quiet night over understanding the hows and whys any day. Plus, it's memory foam, so it's comfy and actually supports your neck, not just some random brick under your head.
But the real win here is the versatility. It's awesome for reading in bed or watching movies as well. Big bonus points for the removable, washable cover. If you're at your wit's end with snoring, this might be worth a try. It's definitely improved things for us, and hopefully, it can bring you some peace and quiet too!
I customized a down pillow on Fluff https://welcome.fluff.co/hotelpillows/ that keeps my head a little elevated at night. My husband says it's greatly reduced my snoring haha.

Hoping someone can recommend a magic pillow (or something else) that will alleviate my epic snoring.
I have a cervical spine one (that has like, a divot for your head) that I used to use and shows up when I search for snore pillows, but it actually gave me a headache.
Any recs, tips and tricks?
I’m having the same issue and don’t have a solution. I got breathe right strips and they seemed to help for a bit but not anymore. I’m a side sleeper and I can’t ever get comfortable if my head is elevated more than one pillow. I wake up with neck pain and headache.
I did read a tip that said to elevate your entire bed frame just at the top so that the entire mattress is slanted down. I haven’t tried that yet.
I’ve just stacked 2 regular pillows on top of each other and I think that helps, or my husband has just stopped bringing it up. I also use extra strength breathe right strips.
Side sleeper here. For years, I’ve struggled with crazy Friday the 13th, Jason Voorhees chainsaw snoring. I was eventually banished to the basement by wife.
Last year I began really tracking my sleep quality with the SnoreLab app. lost weight, tried mouth guards, mouth tape, etc. My “snore score” was usually 70-80… sometimes I’d nab a 40-50, and feel pretty good. But then I’d hit 119 the next night and feel like a total asshole.
On a whim, I decided to try a wedge pillow. Definitely mixed reviews, especially for snoring. And usually these are (from what I’ve read) normally to alleviate snoring for back sleepers. I was skeptical.
The wedge sits flat on the bed, and then my pillow goes on top. Comfort wise… I’m still getting used to it. I don’t love it. But something about the additional height/angle is really helping me. I’m consistently hitting single digits on my score now, with the occasional 15-20. It’s been a total game changer!
Just wanted to pass this on. The $40 investment on Amazon might be worth a try!
I guess you can’t really use a wedge if you are a stomach sleeper?
Thanks for the recommendation! Worked for me too but my scoliosis got in the way and had to abandon it.
I appreciate the post and I believe you're thinking of native Texan, Leatherface who massacres people with a chainsaw. Jason Voorhees' weapon of choice was an axe.
Please provide link.
Can you provide brand and any other details on your pillow? Congratulations on your success!
Hey there, looking for a pillow suggestion. I’m really rough with my pillows. They all end up balled up or mashed or folded or in some uncomfortable amorphous shape while I sleep and I have started snoring loudly which my wife doesn’t appreciate.. Any suggestions for pillows that can hold their shape through that kind of abuse and may help me stop snoring? I’m a side/belly sleeper if that helps. Thanks!
Strongly suggest you go for the Yippo Labs orthopedic cervical pillow. It's made for all sleeping types and i've honestly never slept better since getting it. I even got my wife one too and she absolutely loves it. I sleep on my side too, and pretty much stopped with this pillow. You probably won't be able to go back to old pillows once you use this bad boy.
The Purple Harmony pillow is my current favorite. It holds its shape well and isn't a block of memory foam so it won't trap heat as much. Recommend the low or medium loft if you're a stomach sleeper.
After being a devotee to down pillows for decades, I switched to a Tempur-pedic memory foam. It was very difficult for me to get used to, but now I would have a hard time going back.
I like Coop Home Goods Cooling Eden pillows They come with extra filling so you can adjust for comfort and they’ll even send you more filling for free if you call and ask. They’re pricey but have lasted me for years.
I’ve ALWAYS slept on my side, even before my diagnosis my back was so uncomfortable when I tried to sleep that way and now it’s outright painful.
I’m looking for a pillow or something similar to that. This disease makes me feel incredibly old and I’m starting to notice wrinkles from side sleeping and I just want to have some slight control!
I have been using this one from Amazon for about 6mo and like it. I sleep on my left side at least 80% of the night but it’s one of the most comfortable I’ve found for back laying. Sometimes I question whether it’s like 1-2mm too tall, but haven’t found anything better.
I was never able to sleep on my back because I couldn’t breathe through my nose well enough in that position. I got my deviated septum fixed a few years ago and was so excited when I could breathe on my back once the 10+ inches of surgery gauze came out of each nostril a week later. First night I started dozing, my tongue immediately fell back and choked me. I learned that it happens every time I fall asleep, so I still don’t sleep on my back after all that. Nothin left to do but laugh.
Aw man, that’s so annoying for you, glad you didn’t choke in your sleep though. Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll check it out.m!
have you considered a sleep study?
pregnancy pillows are great for this! I bought a few when I was training myself to sleep on my back and they worked like a charm.
I went to the old school feather pillows in a hypoallergenic pillow case.
It’s kinda like memory foam in that I can mold it into whatever shape I need at the moment.
It’s not a perfect solution but it works.
I'm a 6'1", 320 lb male struggling with severe sleep apnea (OSA) and chronic sleep deprivation. I'm gradually trying to adjust to using a CPAP, but it's been a challenge. Sleeping on my back isn't an option, and while side and stomach sleeping help with my breathing, they cause significant lower back and shoulder pain. I'm looking for a pillow that can provide proper support and alignment—something that works well for a heavier build and minimizes pressure points. Any recommendations?
Look for a high-loft, firm, and supportive pillow designed for side sleepers, such as the Coop Home Goods Eden, Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud Adjustable Pillow, or Sleep Artisan Side Sleeper Pillow. These provide proper neck and spinal alignment while preventing shoulder compression. Given your build, a contoured memory foam or adjustable fill pillow (like shredded latex or memory foam) can help fine-tune support. Also, consider a body pillow (e.g., Snuggle-Pedic or MedCline) to reduce shoulder pressure and improve spinal alignment while side sleeping.
I’m going to try a u shaped body pillow to prevent me sleeping on back which is when I snore
Just get a wedge. I got this wedge pillow on Amazon, sleep with a pillow or 2 and my snoring has reduced by 95%. Pillows that prevent snoring is a lie, you should be slightly elevated to reduce and stop snoring.
As much as I hate it, a My Pillow almost completely cured my snoring and added 30 minutes to my sleep at night. (I wear a health/sleep tracker) I started using it and bought 3 more for future all before the whole Trump thing. I use a new one every 2 years. You can actually clean them. I am going to have a moral dilemma once I run out of them.
All it is, foam cutlets inside. Nothing special. You can find such pillows anywhere without that brand name. I think it's just placebo.
Probably so, but it made a difference, just sharing the experience.
I felt so boujie buying this, but the ikea memory foam pillows changed my sleep a lot. Have neck and back pain from poor form carrying weight/rifle when I was in the military, and a lot of forward hunching/neck cranking sports like road cycling, muay thai and BJJ. This thing doesn't solve the problem completely but definitely helps with a healthier and more stable head/neck position while I sleep :)

Go to Target. Best pillows for cheap. I don't buy into down pillows, too fluffy for my taste.
all right
My catgirl bodypillow, it is perfect !
live one
My girlfriend is starting to get mad at me for snoring and I really want to resolve it. I've done a ton of research and I really don't want to try any of the jaw/tongue alignment stuff most people say they drool and their jaw hurts. I've read many positive reviews from using a wedge pillow. Wondering what size those of you who are using it recommend and maybe tell me how it helped you.
Thank you in advance
I may get a wedge, but just using 3 pillows to prop myself up dropped my Snorelab score from mid 30s to about 5.
I'll try this tonight!
How'd it work?
I recently tried the wedge along with a pillow going lengthwise from top to bottom and I have to say it has worked surprisingly well. I’ve used it in conjunction with a saline spray with a eucalyptus additive the two things combined I have caused my snore lab score to go from the 20s to low 30s down to as low as a four or a five and now I average somewhere around a 10 or a 12 it’s been great. Last part I’ll add is that a incorporated a mouthpiece that I used at the beginning of my snore lab journey into the mix and I sleep on my side.
A wedge pillow basically stopped my snoring. I put a memory foam contoured pilow on top of it. The wedge pillow is 7” high, and I got it on Amazon for around $35. It’s definitely worth a try.
I had the worst snoring ever for nearly 20 years. I dropped 25 lbs and now I don’t snore.
This is the advice I didn’t want coming to this sub, but also the advice that I knew should be top of the list. I was here for a miracle pill or equipment, but I knew deep down my increased snoring (in volume and frequency) is related to weight gain.
Ah man! Bye bye biscuits and junk food - I mean it’s that or my wife... do I like my wife THAT much?!? Haha.
My SnoreLab recording. Could you please listen to this and help me identity if in snoring from my nose or mouth? Thanks!
I think I'm a mouth snorer. I'll reach out to a doctor :)
Dealing with my newly brought on ON has been rough. I keep thinking it will just go away, but I think it's time to treat it. I believe my pillows could be a big culprit. I'm a side sleeper and I use 2 pillows. I'm becoming increasingly irritated with how firm and uncomfortable my pillows are. Any pillow recommendations for side sleepers? I'd also take back sleeping options. I'm not traditionally a back sleeper, but with the right pillow I might become one.
I just purchased this about 2 weeks ago and I’m finally sleeping through the night again! I’m a back & side sleeper. It has great neck support.
Squishmallow is the only thing that I can lay my head on without feeling pain. I’ve slept so much better since I started using one.
Same. I bought my mom one and my neighbor.
My dog took mine so I bought her one and a squishmallow bed.
Squishmallow is the only thing that works for me. Also if you search the subreddit you’ll find a lot of conversations around pillows that will have more suggestions

I have a super soft memory foam pillow that I’ve stuffed with a small neck roll bolster to support my neck.
You may have to make something with what you’ve got. I kept experimenting by pulling stuffing out, rolling things up, stuffing more stuff into more pillows and finally landed on this one.
Pillows are so bloody expensive. Try to make something with what you’ve got.
You can buy the small bolsters or you can just roll up some stuff in a pillow case.
Best pillows for snoring
Key Considerations for Choosing Pillows to Reduce Snoring:
Loft and Height: Look for pillows that provide adequate support for your neck and head. A medium to high loft can help keep your airways open, especially if you sleep on your back.
Material: Memory foam or latex pillows can contour to your head and neck, providing support while maintaining alignment. Some pillows are specifically designed to promote airflow and reduce snoring.
Shape: Consider wedge-shaped pillows or those with a contour design. Wedge pillows elevate your upper body, which can help reduce snoring by preventing the tongue from blocking the throat.
Sleep Position: Your preferred sleep position matters. Side sleepers may benefit from thicker, firmer pillows, while back sleepers might need a flatter pillow to maintain proper spinal alignment.
Cooling Features: If you tend to sleep hot, look for pillows with cooling gel or breathable materials to enhance comfort throughout the night.
Recommendations:
Medcline Acid Reflux Wedge Pillow: This wedge pillow is designed to elevate your upper body, which can help reduce snoring and is also beneficial for acid reflux.
Snuggle-Pedic Ultra-Luxury Bamboo Shredded Memory Foam Pillow: This adjustable pillow allows you to customize the loft and firmness, providing excellent support for various sleep positions.
Z Gel Memory Foam Pillow: This pillow combines memory foam with cooling gel technology, offering support while keeping you cool, which can enhance sleep quality and reduce snoring.
Choosing the right pillow can significantly impact your sleep quality and help reduce snoring, so consider your specific needs and preferences when making a selection.
