TL;DR While the discussions did not directly address prepaid phone plans, based on current trends and offerings, consider looking into major carriers like T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T for competitive prepaid plans. Also, MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) such as Mint Mobile, Visible, and Boost Mobile often offer cost-effective alternatives.
Major Carriers
In recent years, major carriers like T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T have been offering a range of prepaid plans that cater to different needs, from unlimited data options to more budget-friendly limited data plans. These plans typically include nationwide coverage, reliable network speeds, and additional perks such as international calling or data rollover. As of 2023, these carriers have been focusing on expanding their 5G networks, which is likely to continue into 2025, providing faster and more reliable service for prepaid users.
MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators)
MVNOs are smaller carriers that lease network access from major providers, often at a lower cost. They provide a great alternative for those looking for affordable prepaid plans. Popular MVNOs include Mint Mobile, Visible, and Boost Mobile. Mint Mobile, for instance, offers multi-month plans that can significantly reduce monthly costs if paid upfront. Visible, owned by Verizon, provides an all-inclusive plan with unlimited data, messages, and minutes at a competitive price. These options are ideal for users who prioritize cost savings and are willing to pay in advance or commit to longer terms.
Flexibility and Customization
Prepaid plans generally offer greater flexibility compared to postpaid plans. Users can switch plans or carriers without penalties, which is beneficial for those who anticipate changes in their usage patterns. Many prepaid plans also allow for customization, such as adding extra data or international calling features as needed. This flexibility can be particularly advantageous for travelers or those with fluctuating data needs.
Technological Advancements
As technology advances, prepaid plans are expected to incorporate more features that were traditionally reserved for postpaid customers. This includes access to 5G networks, enhanced customer support, and integration with smart devices. By 2025, it's likely that prepaid users will enjoy similar technological benefits as postpaid users, making prepaid plans an increasingly attractive option.
Considerations Beyond Discussions
When choosing a prepaid plan, consider factors such as network coverage in your area, data speed requirements, and any specific features you may need, such as international roaming or hotspot capabilities. Additionally, keep an eye out for promotions or discounts, especially during holiday seasons, as these can provide significant savings.
ROLL 9: IWASE HITOKI !!!
It's Iwase Hitoki (岩瀬 仁紀), the legendary Chunichi Dragons player who's instrumental in winning the 2007 Japan Series.
Thanks for the heads up!
She's running a poll right now to see if she should end the rerolls here and it's 74% in favor of ending it.
Position Designations:
I have a feeling that Marine is gonna win the tournament.
wait for Miko gacha - Iwate very often gives Ohtani OB because reasons... :P
Fubuki is going to be a touch pitcher to go up against. 3 Golds and very decent against lefties and late game pinch situations.
We still have Miko's rolls tomorrow. Who knows, she may get the King of Iwate.
1st roll and she's got an OB: Hasebe Genji
She's likely going to pass, but this first group is much stronger than the majority of rolls Koyori and Ririka had...
Here we go, we are live! Let's see what the Gacha Gods have in store for Senchou for today?
It's settled! Iwase Hitoki it is.
Position Designations:
So it'll likely be a SuBancho battery....
A SuBanchou battery! I wish Ririka good luck in her campaign.
Alright, let's see what Ririka has cooked up as her rerolling strategy:
I'm sure that Ririka is aiming for Yoshinobu-senshu. She can get a B-Rank Catcher in the next school year.
16th reroll: Norifumi Nishimura
The best fielder available in Miyazaki after the first 4 pitchers.
OH GOD SHE REJECTED HIM TOO!!!
SHE WANTS THAT SUBA-OKA BATTERY!!!
I have a bad feeling about this...
I feel like Hidaka Harumi might revisit her like Koyori and Kinugasa.
Die has been cast, Makoto Kemuna will be used as a model for Subaru Oozora!
Even without a super strong OB she already showed that she is a capable coach last year. She had THE WORST starting roll out of all coaches and still managed to get a good run. Also Miyazaki has 3 stars which helps to qualify even with slightly worse lineup
So I am shadowbanned on the main dating apps (Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge) and I have spent the past few months getting pro photos done. I have also lost 25 lbs and gotten the best haircut and style for the photos.
I had some hope a month when Hinge unbanned me but they are petty with it so they unbanned me and I was shadowbanned well after the fact. Anyways, I decided to delete my Hinge account and account on all the apps.
I am getting a new phone this week with a new number but my current phone number, I use for so much shit like 2FA and all of that. I know this won't be an easy process and if I am not careful, I can get logged out of a lot of shit forever.
Has anyone handled a situation similar to this? If so, how?
Can I ask how you managed to get unbanned?
Do not wait dor perfection. Just go do it and youll be fine
We all have. Just follow the hard reset guide to the best of your ability and may the dating app gods be with you.
Reroll #21 and it's Sachio Kinugasa again...
It's over...
At this point, Sachio Kinugasa is destined to join Koyori Hakui's team.
She got Nomura on attempt #3 but the pitchers are trash...
Sachio Kinugasa at #17 but the pitchers are bad again...
Things are looking desperate...
Position Designations:
Koyori's overall strategy:
Why would you want to match her?
This sub has something of an unhealthy obsession with Naomi Scott.
They mentioned Skye, not Naomi though. Maybe they just like the phone case.
I’ve always assumed there are a lot of mentally ill people here who feel connected with her.
Its so fucking weird man
It’s def not a 16, no camera button. Best way to tell between 14-15 is the Action Button which can’t be seen here, which would make it a 15 for sure.
Along with the fact the movie wasn't even out when the 16 came out..
oh yeah and the phone might be a 15 pro/pro max or a 14 pro max
It's the 15 pro max considering the filming of the movie took place in Jan-march of 2024. Apple will always want them to use the best phone they have for marketing reasons also when we see the phone the notch on the island is the floating island introduced in the 15s lineup. The 14 still was using the notch at the top...
I’m looking to get a prepaid service. I am trying to buy out right the iPhone 17 pro max when it comes out. However, do not know which is the best service to get prepaid, I was looking into Visible, Metro PCS, Total by Verizon, or another company or using one of the main carriers on prepaid (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T). I live in NJ and travel to upstate NY once in a while. Not sure which has the best plans, prices, or customer service. I will only need one line & unlimited. Let me know some thoughts please, thanks.
Visible. Especially the Plus plan - $35 unlimited data (premium) and all the normal texts and calling. Right now there is a $6 promo for 1 year making it $29.
Just switched to Visible Pro Plus because I wanted unlimited premium data and because I had an Apple Watch SE Second Generation and it wound up being the same price as Pro.
I switched from Verizon to Visible. The only difference is a solid $50 saved each month! The special they are running is great. I travel the tri-state area with no issues. I haven't been upstate NY (toward Albany, Syracuse, Rochester) so I cannot attest there.
Check out Total Wireless 50% off BYOD promo if Verizon is good in your area. You can get their top plan for $30/month.
Do you get this price only if you come from metro or cricket? Still true?
I ported in from US Mobile on 8/22, and had no issues. I was running on the AT&T Network when I ported (US Mobile offers all 3 networks).
No you get it just for bringing an unlocked phone. No carrier ties needed
I still like cricket. Honestly, visible is good and so is Metro unlimited $25 plan
I have metro and I have the $40 unlimited plan. Recently got a new iPhone and when switching devices…they tried to force me to upgrade my plan to the $50 one. I had to call and make a stink to keep it at $40.
I asked them about a $25 plan and they told me they haven’t offered that for a long time.
They definitely have one. It's the $25. Bring your own device plan. I think it's supposed to be for new customers I think but I'm not sure cuz honestly they'd have a hard time selling the $40 plan if everybody can get the $25 plan
Cricket is kind of expensive but honestly ATT network has been the most reliable for me even while traveling.
Just switched to Visible from Verizon last month. So far, I’d recommend. The switch was one of the easiest account switches I’ve ever done (and I am not techy), I notice no difference in the service, and am saving $80 per month. I’ve heard customer service of any form with Visible can be challenging but I haven’t had to deal with that yet.
asking for help! planning to buy sana ng phone. Di ako masyado ma-game. Prefer ko lang maayos camera, matagal battery life and hindi ma-lag.
Any recommendation? Thank you!
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S24FE. Same needs as yours. After watching and reading tons of reviews between s24fe vs pixel 9a vs a56 5g, ended up choosing s24fe. Some pixel features are still not available here in ph. Warranty is also a problem. If you opt to go pixel, the lowest 9a price I saw was from ajtgadgets in GH at 26k. For s24fe and a56 5g, naka-sale din sa sa shopee at laz ngayon. If student ka, I saw a previous post here where they got their s24fe for 23k from samsung education store online.
(Copy paste lang from my reply sa ibang post)
Pixel. Basically the iphones of androids. The best option for your budget range is the 8a. You can try searching online for its picture and video capabilities, maganda talaga.
If you plan on buying online, I can vouch sa store na to : https://s.shopee.ph/7V6U9kEkZ7
I’m looking to cut down on my monthly phone bill this year. Right now, I feel like I’m overpaying for the service I’m getting, and I know there are some good budget-friendly options out there in 2025.
For those of you who have already made the switch, what are the best cheap cell phone plans you’ve found this year? I’m looking for something reliable with good coverage, but still affordable.
Any recommendations for me?
Some pre-steps:
In order to take full advantage, you will probably want a phone with 5G and ESIM capability, so maybe consider buying a new unlocked phone first if you don't have that. There are even different types of 5G, for example some phones don't have mmWave receivers (TBF, mmWave support is limited anyway, especially indoors).
I would recommend checking mobile network coverage of the 3 major carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) in the area you care about. This is the best graphical site I am aware of for doing that. I believe it pulls from the national FCC website which is also useful.
Ironically, if you have the ability to do wifi calling/messaging at home, then it may be more important to have good mobile coverage elsewhere.
Anyway, that will give you a first guess at signal strength and coverage for the area(s) you care about. If it is poor for one of the carriers then you can eliminate MVNOs that exclusively use that carrier. Failing that, the internet broadly claims that T-Mobile's network has the best 5G coverage in cities, Verizon is supposed to have best rural coverage (4G, but sometimes high network congestion), AT&T is somewhere in between the two. YMMV.
If you want cheap plans then you will typically go with a MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that piggybacks on top of 1 (or more) of the 3 major carriers to provide support to you. Most MVNOs are tied to 1 network. The exceptions I am aware of are US Mobile, Red Pocket, and (maybe) Boost -- switching networks under them is possible which is nice if your current one sucks, but is still generally one at a time unless you want to shell out $$$.
On to the recommendations:
-- If you are ok with T-Mobile network and only looking for most competitive intro rates, Mint Mobile's $15/month unlimited is hard to beat. Downside is you need to pay at least 3 months out.
-- I ended up going with US Mobile because I like the AT&T network and I can get what I want for $20/month indefinitely including fees or taxes. I have read about their support on the AT&T network degrading after 1 month. I tried to avoid this by starting out immediately on ass tier (skipping 30-day unlimited free trial period), so they won't feel the need to degrade anything after 1 month haha. So far so good.
-- Tello (which runs on T-Mobile) also looked like a nice option in terms of month-to-month, non-introductory, great rate coverage. Their mobile app also has better reviews than US Mobile's. A family member uses and likes them.
Note that most MVNO's mobile data traffic is generally deprioritzed by one level from the major carriers, so in a congested environment your response times may be slower. The only exceptions I am aware of for this are Google Fi; and US Mobile on Verizon premium plan (soon to go away) or on AT&T network (if you pay more for it). So far, deprioritization has not affected me. Again, YMMV.
Other things you may want to consider: international calls, international roaming, mobile hotspot support, etc. etc.
How did you get for $20 per month indefinitely?
I am currently on their By-The-Gig 10gig/month plan which is $20/month. (sorry, I didn't mean $20 was a lifetime guarantee or anything ... it's just not an introductory rate.)
I’ve done a bit of research recently and a few options really stood out for cheap plans this year:
EliteTechMarketplace - it’s not a carrier itself, but more of a comparison site that ranks and reviews the best budget-friendly carriers with proper ratings. Super handy if you want to see all the top options in one place before deciding.
Lyca Mobile – every plan includes international calling, high-speed 5G data, and no contracts or hidden fees.
Visible – runs on Verizon’s network with unlimited everything (talk, text, data). No hidden fees, plus they sometimes have promos like a free phone with select plans.
SnapFon – more of a niche option, but worth checking out if you want something simple and affordable.
All of these are prepaid/MVNO style, so you save money compared to the big carriers without locking into a contract.
Good2gomobile $60 a year for ATT coverage.
Was trying to look online. Is that the one with only 1 GB of data per month?
Yes
Add taxes and fees which vary by location.
Visible is 19 a month!!
It depends on your needs. Ako ayoko nang nagwoworry if may load pa ako or if may pang call pa ako. I got sim only plan.
I'm curious lang, would no expiry promos help alleviate the "may load pa ba ako?" as Magic Data+ by Smart and also GOMO allows calling landlines. At the very least, you may even need to reload just once a year compared to reminding yourself to pay every month.
My smart bill is auto charged to credit card. No expiry promo is not equated to unli data. My data refreshed every 1st of the month with the remaining data added to the current month. I used to be on enterprise postpaid plan then converted it to prepaid. Then converted to retail postpaid. Also comes with free 1 year VIU premium (on top of subsidized netflix) and other ton of benefits.
Same saken. Ayoko nang iniisip if may load ba ako, kelan mag expire yung promo. Mas convenient na saken yung auto charged nalang yung plan ko. One less thing to worry about.
I have the lowest plan na. Basta sure ako na may pang call, text at data ako when I need it.
Though at times naiisip ko na di ko namamax yung data/call inclusion. Pero bumawe naman sa ibang promo. And reliable signal. Di ko rin sure if gomo/dito enable imessage
For me yes.
Im using my GOMO sim. Based sa nakikita ko online na pricing, mas mura ang GOMO. May wifi sa bahay so nagagamit ko lang sa work/labas. Pwede iconvert yung data sa calls+text. No expiry lagi load ko.
August 5 ako nagload mula maubos yung March 18 kong promo. So, mag 5 mos na. 399 lang yun.
For August 5, nakapromo so 249 lang niload ko.
Depende. Sa akin di na siya worth it. I used to have sim only plan 599 sa smart since need ko ng landline calls for work. But now, bumalik ako sa prepaid and nag subscribe sa Magic Data + na may no expiry data, call, and text.
Same exact scenario. Sim only 599 then switched to prepaid magic data.
may gomo na rin to call landline. if hindi naman frequent calls.
because if frequent naman, then subscribe to a landline instead rather than a mobile postpaid
Smart has non expiring (magic call, same idea sa magic data peri calls naman) calls for landline. 200 pesos for 150 minutes
Happy with any provider
Yes need to have a main sim only plan to each kids then pay extra $5 month on top for the apply watch
If you want them to have the same number on their watch as their mobile, then as others have said, it’s $5 per month + the cost of the mobile plan.
What others haven’t said is that you have to go with Telstra, Optus or Vodafone. Last time I checked, MVNO’s don’t support number sharing with the Apple Watch.
If you are happy for them to use iMessage to text, and FaceTime Audio to call, then there are other providers that offer standalone data plans for Apple Watches, which are cheaper than the $5 per month + the cost of the mobile plan.
50 with Telstra (starter plan) + $5 for Apple Watch one number subscription. The sim is put into a phone (different to yours) and then you can set up the one number through the watch app.
If you don’t have a phone to use for the Apple Watch than you can use a provider called Better Mobile who allow cellular to be used without a mobile and separate mobile plan. (Look up family sharing).
I think you mean Better Roaming: https://www.betterroaming.com/watches/apple-watch-family/
Yes you are correct, I always mistake their name tbh
best prepaid phone plans 2025
Key Considerations for Prepaid Phone Plans in 2025
Data Allowance: Look for plans that offer sufficient data for your usage. Many plans now offer unlimited data, but check for deprioritization after a certain threshold (e.g., 20GB).
Network Coverage: Ensure the provider has good coverage in your area. Major carriers often have better networks, but some MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) use these networks at lower prices.
Cost: Compare monthly costs and any additional fees. Some plans may seem cheap but have hidden costs for activation or overage charges.
Flexibility: Prepaid plans should offer flexibility without long-term contracts. Look for plans that allow you to change or cancel easily.
International Features: If you travel frequently, consider plans that offer international calling or data options without high fees.
Recommendations for 2025:
Mint Mobile: Offers competitive pricing with plans starting as low as $15/month for 4GB of data. They use T-Mobile's network, providing good coverage.
Visible: Known for its unlimited data plan at $30/month, which includes hotspot capabilities. It operates on Verizon's network, ensuring solid coverage.
T-Mobile Connect: Offers plans starting at $15/month with 5GB of data, and it’s a good option for those who want a reliable network without breaking the bank.
Cricket Wireless: Provides a variety of plans with unlimited data options and good family plan discounts. They use AT&T's network for coverage.
Takeaway: Choose a plan that fits your data needs, budget, and coverage area. Always check for any promotions or discounts that may be available when signing up.
