TL;DR For big mountain riding, consider the Jones Flagship, Stranda Descender (Evolution), K2 Alchemist, and Burton Custom X. These boards are highly recommended for their performance in carving and handling high speeds.
Jones Flagship
The Jones Flagship is a popular choice among advanced riders for big mountain snowboarding. It is praised for its ability to handle high speeds and aggressive turns [5:1]
[5:6]. The board is designed for stability and control, making it ideal for those who enjoy challenging terrains and natural features
[5:3].
Stranda Descender (Evolution) and K2 Alchemist
Both the Stranda Descender (Evolution) and K2 Alchemist are recommended for their exceptional performance in big mountain conditions [5:1]. These boards are known for their durability and responsiveness, providing riders with confidence when tackling steep slopes and varied snow conditions.
Burton Custom X
The Burton Custom X remains a favorite for many snowboarders due to its stiff flex and lightweight construction, which contribute to its excellent edge grip and carving capabilities [5:2]. This board is particularly suited for riders who prioritize precision and speed on the mountain.
Additional Recommendations
Other notable mentions include the Jones Mountain Twin Pro, which offers versatility for all-mountain riding [5:5]
[5:7], and the "Death Sled" and BSOD, which have been suggested by users for their unique features and performance
[5:8]
[5:10]. Each of these boards brings something different to the table, catering to various preferences and riding styles.
When choosing a snowboard, consider your specific needs, such as stiffness, weight, and intended use, to find the best fit for your big mountain adventures.
Honestly I reckon GoA the gameplay was really fun
Combat mechanics, sure. But the other systems were ass. They made it too simplistic.
The fighting and socializing was nice. But compared to previous opus, farming, cooking, forging and crafting was very watered down and extremely simplified
Yeah those were watered down. I think for the next game they improve the cooking, forging and crafting. I honestly didn't mind the farming. I think the relationships were the best in this game I hope they make them even better next game
Rune Factory 4. Everything felt polished and well thought out (except for triggering Act 3).
Didn't RF4S fix that?
I think so, I don't remember struggling to trigger the third arc when I played on Switch
I remember it feeling very clunky, honestly.
4/4S.
Rune Factory 4 Special.
Guardians of Azuma, but not by a strong lead, honestly. The combat was the best the series has ever been, and the village management was fresh. Inventory management overhaul was a huge QoL improvement.
I do find myself missing the crafting from previous games quite a bit though.
I also enjoyed the overhaul to relationship mechanics, but found myself greatly missing town events featuring non bachelor NPCs and the goofiness in general.
I was at the circle store and it’s huge with a nice museum. The store they say is the 2nd largest boutique in the world and hosts events there. I could have heard wrong of course. lol. I had a great experience there and they had all the pieces available.
bahnhofstrasse with frau monika huber for sure
Isn’t their main Flagship store on Bahnhofstrasse? There were so many watch stores on the road it seemed like every brand had several boutiques. Thats where I’d go. My 2cents.
Love the fit!
maya finally met the world
she's bloody earned this
YESSSSSSSSS!!!
I wonder if her and farkle interacted cause he was there as well
He was on stage during Conan gray performance
he's one of her best friends, i'd assume they interacted.
That dress is absolutely stunning! Damn she looks good!
Yes! Her makeup was also so good. Loving these wins for her.
it’s been so wild watching her since her disney days 😭 i feel like a proud mom (she’s older than me lol)
she is stunning! i’m so proud of her. i’ve been following her since girl meets world and i feel like a big sister in a way (parasocial whatevef). man’s best friend is brilliant and i’m just so happy to see that she’s finally being appreciated after being around for such a long time.
Situation: a Libra man and a woman are best friend. Spending a lot of time together. Going camping. Talking about building a cabin in the woods together. Planning trips. The Libra man always includes this woman in his plans. Talking in "we" and "us".
They were intimate before but Libra man was indecisive when he's met another woman. Libra promised the best friend he would never leave. The other woman turned out to be too much but it left a scar. That they're slowly working on fixing.
The best friend wants more. The Libra do too but he's traumatized by past relationships and is scared to mess it up.
The best friend wants to be the one to take the reigns here. What would be the best way to show the Libra that more would be possible?
The best way is to run from that Libra man. Hope that helps.
That sounds like a recipe for dis taster. Don’t pursue. Abort mission.
Meh. Sounds like he’s biding his time. I wouldn’t pursue.
He made you an option. Starting a relationship with that as the foundation will make it rocky at best. If someone doesn't know what they have when it's right in front of them, that's their problem. Move on.
If a libra wanted you he would (I’m a libra woman) I honestly get the ick so easy. Don’t be so assessable because that’s literally a major ick also moving to fast is another big one don’t fall to fast
Advanced rider but when I moved overseas I had to stop. Finally heading back to the slopes next southern hemisphere winter (NZ) and gotta start from scratch with all my gear again.
I used to absolutely love the 2018 Burton Custom X 152wide (maybe 153?). The grip on the edge was insane for carving. Before that I had a Ride Machete which I loved.
Never much of a park runner, just hitting natural features and high speeds/turns.
What would you guys and girls suggest these days. Does the Custom X still hold up? Is there anything else you'd suggest for big mountain riding?
Unfortunately no need for a powder board out this way. That's a rarity in the south.
custom x is still one of the best tbh
edit - lots of recommendations in here but when you think about it from a materials standpoint if you want the stiffest lightest ripper $ can buy… you gotta get a carbon board
Been meaning to replace my old one for years now. Something about the ultralight response in that board makes me miss it.
i love jones snowboards. the all mountain is great for getting back into it
Mountain twin pro is a great option
Just had a quick look and I reckon you're onto something there! Great shout thanks
I was in your position last season... Got the Jones Mountain twin.. After a few weeks I wished I'd bought the pro
Jones flagship rips
My pick would be BSOD
Death sled
Gotta agree with that
Stranda Descender (Evolution)
Jones Flagship
K2 Alchemist
Low Poly from thingiverse. Based on 1" fender washers. Printed on a Photon Mono 2 and painted with Chinese acrylic paint markers from Amazon. That Army Painter Medium Tone wash is doing a LOT of heavy lifting. But I'm happy with them!
Oh wow! Close ups please!!!
Looks pretty awesome!
Hub areas not allowed.
My pick: Brume Tower. I think the game is at it's best when there are more labyrinthine levels to explore, and Brume Tower is visually stunning, very complex, fun to run through with some amazing enemies like the Possessed Armor, all capped off with one of the best bosses in the game.
There's something so nostalgic about Brume Tower. I've only started playing DS2 this year, and I feel this deep connectedness to it. Something about a barren wasteland with nothing but lava and a blood orange sky. It must be amazing starwatching at night
Several of the best bosses. Fume and Alonne are universally loved and i personally have Blue Smelter #2 just ahead of Alonne
Dragon aerie and dragon shrine for how beautiful it is .
That actually feels like we are in dragon place . There was ancient dragon . There were dragon eggs and their mothers were protecting those dragon eggs . The way the dragon knights bow to us is just so cool .
If we are talking about a place with enemies , bosses and atmosphere it's frozen eleum loyce
Dragon Aerie is visually stunning. However, the area is incredibly linear, and I don't like the part with all the exploding hollows that destroy your equipment
That's why bow and arrow is so important in this game . Bow and arrow will save you from these dipshits . Shrine of Amana , iron keep were easy for me because of these
I really loved how we are supposed to fight for the right to go up, just do cool and in the end all the knights showing respect (like you pointed) so cool definetly one of the high points from ds2.
Eleum loyce IMO, great level design apart from frigid outskirts, I love the visuals of this place, it just feels magic and ruined. It makes me wonder about the old days and how everything went wrong at some point, also great storytelling.
I second this
I really liked Shulva
I always forget how awesome the Bow and Arrow puzzles are until I play it again, and getting greeted by an awesome view and then a sleeping dragon that flies away when you enter it, awesome
Brume Tower is a masterpiece in terms of art direction, level design, and environmental storytelling

Hey all, I’m looking for some help choosing a new freeride or directional all-mountain board for the 2025/26 season. I’ve done some research, but I’d love advice from people who have actually ridden some of the boards I’m considering. I just got back from a ski trip in Japan in Feb and loved it the whole time but left something to be desired from my current quiver.

Would love your input on:
Thanks in advance for any help. I’m planning to buy used or find a good deal on past-season stock, so feel free to suggest older models if the tech hasn’t changed much. Cheers.
Ride deepfake.
Super hard charging groomer board that can tear up powder. It sticks and edge in and just rips you through turns with so much confidence. It still floats super well on steep powder. It has undeniable pop but it takes some muscle to extract everything from this board, it’s demanding physically and extremely rewarding.
I take this board out all the time, but I am decently more tired than if I take out my ride Algorithm or my peace seeker.
OP this is the answer. I am your exact specs and riding style, and have been riding a Deep Fake for two years now. It is exactly what you’re looking for.
> Ride deepfake
For those that own, what would you rate the flex on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the stiffest?
Look into Cardiff. Love their boards, love supporting smaller companies that give a shit.
I second this, the Lynx is one of my favorite boards.
I have a Lynx split. Great board. Getting a Goat solid too.
I can get behind this, but any models youd recommend?
Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro 157
Kazu, mega merc, and mercury are all top of the list for me riding all mountain. BSOD is directional so I enjoyed it overall but like riding switch a lot so I sold that. Kazu seems sharper, more turny surfy, than both types of mercury's. Mercury is an awesome do it all board, just isn't the most park or slow riding friendly with the contact point in the center "death grip" I think it's called
The 2025 Mercury was my last years daily until I got the Warpig. The mercury is a do it all board in my eyes; unless you want to hit park then it’s not going to shine. It’s definitely slow riding friendly if you’re looking for a laid back lap. I paired it with forces and it felt great.
WTF are you talking about. All of those boards are directional. Kazu is the most directional with 6mm of taper. Mercury is nearly twin, but still has directional flex and a little setback.

Fits your description rather perfectly
