TL;DR
Strip Mining Techniques
Strip mining remains one of the most popular methods for finding diamonds. Many players recommend mining at Y-level 11 [3:6], while others suggest going even deeper to Y-level -56, especially after recent updates that introduced new cave systems
[5:1]. A 1x3 strip mine is efficient, and some players also use TNT at these levels to expose more ore
[3:9].
Exploring Caves and Ravines
Exploring caves, particularly deepslate caves below Y-level 0, can be a fruitful strategy for finding diamonds [5:1]. Underwater ravines are another option, as they often contain exposed diamond ores
[4:3]. Using night vision potions can help illuminate these areas, making it easier to spot diamonds
[5:1].
Mining Behind Dirt
Some players have found success by mining dirt patches at diamond level. This tip, attributed to streamer Philza, suggests that diamonds might spawn near dirt, although this may not be universally true [4:1]
[4:6].
Utilizing Enchantments
Using a Fortune III enchanted pickaxe is highly recommended when mining diamonds, as it significantly increases the number of diamonds dropped from each ore [5:4]. This enchantment can make your mining efforts much more rewarding.
Alternative Methods
Switching between different mining methods can sometimes yield better results. If strip mining isn't working, try caving, or vice versa [4:4]. Additionally, exploring structures like end cities, nether fortresses, bastions, and buried treasures can occasionally provide diamonds
[5:3].
Overall, persistence and adaptability are key. Trying various strategies and keeping motivated will eventually lead you to find those elusive diamonds.
I can find everything else but diamonds I even x-rayed for a while just to see how many diamonds any player could be passing and not even know, a tactic I am thinking about is just mining square chunks until you find some. Anyone have any other ideas?

I just use pickaxepro.net tbh
No, that is probably a virus link lol, I found out that I can just use fullbright UB lol
I need help finding diamonds in minecraft, I did some thing to see how many diamonds a player could pass without knowing and what I am thinking is to just mine a chunk yourself and then just keep doing it until you find diamonds but that would be TIME TAKING, anyways to find diamonds? Redstone tactics would also be appreciated!

Definitely pickaxepro.net
Ive been playing minecraft since its release but have always started a world and only gotten to iron then got bored but i recently got a pc and got a lot more intrested. In my world im having serious trouble finding diamonds, going through huge caves with lots and lots if lava and revenes and strip mines 3x3 that go on for hundreds of blocks but have only ever found 4 diamonds (i do know a lot qbout the game though but im not much of a miner :/)
Dig to y=12/11 and strip mine.
That was fast wow, thank you but ive tried that a lot but im really unlucky in general im just gonna keep on strip kining though :) ill find them at some point
Some advice carry some extra pickaxes and shovels. And be sure to have a ton of torches (especially if you find a cave)
Fastest: x-ray Best: 1x3 strip mine at y = 11
Cool :) im trying to keep it normal though thanks i will do the strip mine thank you :D
TNT at y = 11
Once i have a lot ill get tnt but i dont have much gunpowder thank you though
I strip mine 4 X 4 areas at Y9 and I usually find diamonds that way if this helps
Oo thats a good idea ill try that
I have been having trouble finding diamonds in my world and wanted to know some of your methods to finding them, anything would help!
1x3 at y11 MINE ALL THE DIRT YOU SEE WHILE MINING
Do diamonds spawn near dirt?
it’s a tip from Philza a twitch streamer who streams hardcore. I don’t know why but I almost half the time find diamonds behind dirt
Usually if I need a few I'll swim around in underwater ravines, making sure to note that they're at diamond-level of course.
That is a good idea! I have actually never thought to look at underwater ravines.
Try switching up your methods. Try caving if you have been strip mining or try strip mining if you have been caving. Stay motivated and I bet you will find some eventually. Good luck!
Thanks!
Y-11 strip mining is how 90% of players get Diamonds
1x1 mining tunnel using trapdoor is apaprently more efficient. You don't need to light 1x1 branches either as no mob can spawn in crawl space.
Hi guys just got back on Minecraft and been struggling to find diamonds, haven’t played MC for a few years so I know a few things have changed. Any suggestions thank you.
I go -56 put on some 60s music and get mining!
Oh yeah don't harvest any ore without fortune 3 you'll be a sad panda
Cheers mate just got my fortune 3 yesterday so gonna relax and do stop strip mining
Caving, water caving with a magma block or water breathing potion, strip mining at y -56, end cities, nether fortresses, bastions, and buried treasures
Go down and mine
Find a deepslate cave and just walk around, you'll get plenty of diamonds below y lvl 0. The deeper the better tho. If you have access to brewing night vision helps a lot.
Strip mining has been extremely ineffective since 1.17 when they added the new caves, so I would not recommend doing that. It's also incredibly boring
Anyone having trouble getting diamonds in bedrock
The best way to get diamonds is mining. If you just need diamond tools and armour I'd say trading is better
Strip mine at level 12
This is debatable atm. There is evidence to show diamond generation got lowered in 1.17. On java this should not have changed but on bedrock 10-12 should work fine.
Well that proves me wrong gg
Go to settings and switch your gamemode to creative. Open your inventory. Then in the search bar type “diamond“
I was expecting this to happen
With the new cave systems, it seems like finding diamonds is more difficult. They seem more scarce. What’s the best way to find them?
I'll be honest I've found it easier to find them in the new cave systems.
Really? I can never find them in the new caves
I think it's because more ore blocks are exposed rather than surrounded by other blocks.
There's this incredible brand new website called Google that would have answered your question in less than 0.0004 seconds.
C`mon people the internet isnt that difficult .. learn how to search.
Or I could just use Reddit and have the answers given to me instead of scrolling through and reading a website.
Coming from google and seeing this instead of an actual answer fucking sucks. Ironic
Steal them from your friends
They did reduce the size and frequency of ores so this is to be expected. The cave systems are the best way. Otherwise try strip mining at -59
Is there a specific level under diamond level that you have the best chance at finding diamonds? Should I clear a 2x2 hallway and look for them that way?
I usually mine at 11. I believe diamonds spawn under 12 so yeah. Also, caves are good because you dont need any digging. Just luck.
I always stair down to y=12 and strip mine. I'll mine forward for 4 Iron pickaxes and then branch off of it. I'll go to the edge of my steps and go 4 Iron pickaxes both ways and gather everything. Move down 2 blocks and do it again. I find diamonds every strip.
I think the most efficent way to find diamonds is basically opening 2x2 mines at y levels of 5, 7 and 11. Most people do it only at y level 11 because the lava spawns at y 10. But they miss many diamonds underneath them. Also there will be lava so bring a water bucket
People mine at level 11 because thats where the most diamonds spawn, so theyre the ones missing less diamonds actually
That's true, but (nearly) same amounts of diamonds spawn at y level 5 and 7, so it's more efficent to mine that way.
The most effective way is to go caving at y12ish, caving because it maximises serface area you see
I haven’t found any diamonds while strip mining it’s so disappointing, what am I doing wrong
There are enough diamonds in caves that I don't really strip mine much anymore, but when I do I go Y -56.
No strip mining is still the best most efficient way especially for big veins, in caves it's mainly singles. But if they only have an iron pickaxe with no enchants then yeah it would probably be best to cave until you get a better mining tool
Thank youu
Just out of curiosity what y level were you mining?
They should spawn anywhere below Y level 16. They are most common around Y = -58. If you are strip mining with an iron pickaxe I would assume it will take you a bit until you find some. Probably best to cave until you get a diamond enchanted pickaxe with fortune and efficiency.
Thank you!
Do you guys use strip mining or caves? Which one do you recommend? I use caves, but haven’t found many diamonds.
The most effective way is strip mining, but mining near large lava pools in caves may have similar luck.
Thanks! May I ask what you do when strip mining? One straight line or sections
Usually i go at around layer 12(diamonds spawn at the highest rates+lava lakes spawn at your feet instead of head) and i make lots of infinite tunnels, 2 blocks apart. There is another, slightly more effective way but its really hard to explain in words.
You can also use a bucket to empty out lava pools. I’ve found many diamonds and emeralds by doing so at the bottom of ravines. It’s slow work, but it works
Almost seems safe to turn it into obsidian and then pick-ax it away. Otherwise you have to have a place to place the lava after.

You can dump all the lava into a 1x1 square. And if you mine away the obsidian, you’ll wear down your pick, in which cause you’ll need to have several. Even with mending and unbreaking
Thanks!
