Super Art 1: Energy Beam
The Energy Beam is a popular choice among players for its straightforward application and effectiveness. It deals significant damage by firing a large beam across the screen, making it ideal for bosses with large hitboxes or those that stay in one place for extended periods. This super art is especially useful when you need to clear out multiple enemies or deal a massive amount of damage quickly. However, some players have noted that using this super art in combination with certain charms, like P. Sugar, can cause glitches where the player becomes invincible [4:1].
Super Art 2: Invincibility
This super art provides temporary invincibility, allowing players to avoid damage during crucial moments. It's particularly beneficial in boss fights where dodging attacks is challenging due to complex patterns or limited space. The invincibility period can be used strategically to bypass difficult sections of a fight without taking damage. While it doesn't deal direct damage, the ability to avoid hits can be invaluable, especially in levels where maintaining health is critical [1:1].
Super Art 3: Giant Ghost
The Giant Ghost super art summons a ghost version of Cuphead or Mugman that follows the player around and deals damage to enemies on contact. This super art is unique because it allows for continuous damage over time as long as the ghost remains active. It requires more strategic positioning than the other supers, as players must maneuver the ghost into enemies to maximize its effectiveness. This super art can be particularly effective against bosses with multiple phases or those that move around the screen frequently, as the ghost can continue to deal damage while the player focuses on dodging [3:1].
Choosing the Right Super Art
Selecting the best super art often depends on the specific level or boss you're facing. For instance, if you're dealing with a boss that has a lot of movement, the Giant Ghost might be more effective due to its persistent presence. On the other hand, if you need a quick burst of damage or are facing a stationary target, the Energy Beam could be more suitable. Invincibility is a great choice for players who struggle with dodging or want to ensure they maintain their health through tough segments. Ultimately, experimenting with different super arts and understanding their strengths will help you determine the best fit for your playstyle and the challenges at hand.
Another idea of his down special could be him changing his weapon that he uses in his neutral special (the lobber, horseshoe, etc.)
What if the color you pick actually changes his neutral special gun.
Ex. Cuphead gets the spread shot (Red)
Mugman gets the peashooter (blue)
Green Cuphead gets the boomerang
Yellow (?) Mugman gets the lobber All other moves are the same
Then you would get two people fighting over a certain color.
Another way to do it is have one of the specials be a quick swap similar to Shulk or PT where you can change between the 6 different shots.
He uses his other weapons in the rest of his moveset.
I didn't even see this and that exactly what I said his down b should be lol.
Another down special counter. We don’t have enough of those kappa
Yes, but this is special, as instead of dealing damage, Cuphead becomes momentarilly invincible.
Throwing it out there, I do like this mix up on the counter! Feel like it could be a little OP so maybe it would just need a lot of ending lag to make it fair?
Some of this I like, but some of it I don't. His side B could be smoke bomb and it could work like Greninja's shadow attack and parry could be his nair. His down b should be similar to Shulk's monado arts and it would change the weapons he would use for his neutral b (lobber, spread, charge, etc.)
Smoke bomb is already his dodge animation and his other weapons are used in the rest of his moveset.
Cuphead as a playable character would be awesome
Wow look at all these unique and engaging abilities
Counter argument: he was bested by a potted plant
To be fair, have you ever bested a potted plant?
I mean yeah, Doof basically defeats himself a lot of the times, but I'd still want to send my best agent against the guy that basically deleted all musical instruments beginning with b from existence, built giant penguin robots that can freeze over a city and who LITERALLY MOVED THE ENTIRE EARTH FURTHER FROM THE SUN LEAVING IT IN ETERNAL WINTER!
Doof only looks weak cause Perry is so good.
but Planty the potted plant stopped him 😮
Yeah but that’s Potty the Potted Plant! They send him after the Regurgitator nowadays!
He was stopped by a plant lol
yeah its bowser vs mario all over again.
Nah Doof is actually strong, we have seen in alternate futures the moment Doof succeeded his plans Perry would keep failing till the point Doof managed to take over the Tri-state area.
Counterpoint, Potty the potted plant
He’s also building inators every day and in the first season, his traps were a lot more deadly. Also the double Dutch fight, fighting while jump roping is crazy even for perry. Look at how Doof is jumping around and fighting Perry while Perry is mostly staying upright
You say that like Doof doesn't create inventions that defy the laws of physics, remember in quantum boogaloo, Perry being out for a few months gave Doof enough time take over the world.
Switch lobber and charge and then this would be really good. Or even replace charge with peashooter and make that neutral special
I think Peashooter would work better as the Jab, similar to Megaman.
I feel that his shots should all be neutrals and you can switch between them with down-b, and side-b would be a dash. I also feel that his parry should launch him into the air and the enemy downwards (possible work as a meteor smash) his Final Smash is definitely right.
Only if this was real. He is a mii costume :(
I also posted this on deviantart and Amino (look it up yourself)
I have no arguments here. All of his best moves chosen for this too.Though when it comes to specias you can charge I think they work better as neutrals. I'd probably have swapped the charge shot and lobber around. I'm assuming his pea shooter is what yo get when you just tap the standard attack button repeatedly? You could even do this while ducking!
Yeah, if you happen to use Super Art 1 and if you have P. Sugar Equipped and parry something right as the Super End, you'll be stuck like that and not take damage (This has been in the game since launch).
Thanks, didn't know that. It had never happened to me before.
Yeah, lol. This can also happen at anytime a pause frame occurs right as the super ends (Not just a P. Sugar thing).
now with this i have infinite power.
Plant boi EXTENDS
Tetrabitgaming
Battle cats!?!?!?
You spin me right round
i was gonna post that
Those updates only fixed a couple of bugs
I'm not complaining

If I had to say who the biggest aura farmer here is, it's probs Ryu.
"Aura farming" refers to the act of intentionally doing things to appear cool, often in a way that is perceived as trying too hard or being inauthentic. The term "aura" refers to the vibe or presence a person gives off, and "farming" implies cultivating or building up that aura, sometimes to an excessive degree. It's a way to gain attention or admiration by performing actions that are intended to be perceived as effortlessly cool or impressive.
According to this...is both. But unlike Ryu, Vergil hasn't accomplished anything, he just a deadbeat dad.
Dante on the other hand is way better than his edgelord evil twin brother.
I don’t think Ryu tries to be cool intentionally at all, he’s 100% serious at all times in a world full of crazy goofball stuff
Yeah, Ryu doesn’t really “aura farm”; he simply does things that in turn make him look cool.
Its funny how I find ryu to be more Insane than vergil.
That’s because he is 🤣, ryu is essentially a sociopath…excluding 3 😑
That is indeed strange for sure given that one is trying to stop the world ending by killing fiends, and the other is in the business of murdering millions to cultivate a demon tree.
You know when you combo or absorb essences and do a UT and then you chain another and another and another? That's what I meant
Me: Ok ryu that's quite enough, ryu STOP, OH MY GOD STOP STOPPPP HE IS ALREADY DEATH RYU ENOUGH!!!
And he just keeps going.
insane aura
i am the storm that is approaching
VS
one silent ninja
who's gonna win?
UT in NG2 ooofff
Wait, any character already in Indie Cross, or just favorite indie character with a special ability
i was more inclined to "Any character already in indie cross", but you can also say an ability of a character you wish to appear.
Alright, for V1, it would probably be his chainsaw.
For any favorite indie character (which is the Noise from Pizza Tower for me), I would think it would be somewhat cool if we saw the pepper pizza powerup or the mort powerup for him
I wanna see V1 making use of his mobility tools, like the whiplash and jackhammer
Moro said no alt weapons sadly
Wait so he only has the base gun ? No nailgun or anything else ?
V1 ultraricochoceting someone to death or just any of the silly things they do Or The Knight becoming the shade lord :3
All I wanna see is jackhammer
Sadly moro said no alt weapons
Niko’s fear of ladders
I wanna see Badeline make duplicates of herself
YES!! Absolutly!!
gotta read your opponent 5 second before it actually happen
If you can't read the lag you have a serious skill issue
Even on mobile I don't have this (often). But yeah, it's brawlhalla:
Good to know I’m not the only person who has this issue often.
Bros movement is next level
Next dimension*
That's the most stable brawlhalla server that I've seen
Wouldn't affect my Queen though. Yumiko low diffs ping issues
Damn that’s a sexy pic
I don't see why they felt the need to make Diffuse Chord a Fire attribute move if they made Einsatz a wood move
tbh having diffuse chord and holympus harmony in the same moveset is kinda redundant anyways. I'm only keeping it cause its plot important and hard to get
Fair enough
Imagine Aphrodi with all of his sginature shots being Wind, while he is a Wood element player.
i think you meant hissatsus but true...
Oh you're right. I thought at least heaven's time was wood, but that's wind too. Man, they really nerfed Aphrodi hard, it's unfair.
idk IE3 is full of stuff like this too
Sein and Desuta having their signature shots be the element of the other
Excalibur being mountain while Valtinas is Wood
Iron Wall being Mountain while Teles is Fire
Also what another person here mentioned for Aphrodi
VR fixed this by outright removing STAB so there's no bebefit for characters to have moves with their element
Kidou is also air despite illusion ball/KP family/death zone being wood.
And similarly, Fudou is fire, despite all of his signature hissatsus also being wood (KP family, Killer Fields)
At least my goat Sakuma is wood element
Fudou made more sense in IE2 though with breakthrough 2, triple boost betting fire
That actually made sense in GO1 and Chrono Stones, in those games the modifier for using a move of the same type as the player is much smaller than in Galaxy so having lots of elemental options is a boon if anything.
Crackshot and super 1 with Ms. Chalice
I used super II, the extra hp with chalice was a huge help. And by the time the extra health gets taken away, I have enough for another.
I used Super II when I beat saltbaker with an A+ first try
To defeat Cuphead all you have to do is take damage three times
ok i have 1 left what now
Chrackshot, chaser for 3rd and last phase, chalice and super art 11, that's how I s ranked him
HOW DO YOU GET SUPER 11???
Lol super 2 I meant
Seems redundant, to me personally. Crackshot really is the cooler Chaser, and I hate going without Roundabout.
Roundabout didn't really work with the last stage for me, but the 2nd and third it helped definantly. The last part I always got hit because I have a skill issue, so chaser worked better
Does your copy of Cuphead have 8 extra mausoleums lol
Cuphead, Mugman, Chalice or this friendly cook?
Is there any situation where the third Super (the buff spirit) is better than the other two? I've tried it out a few times, but I've never been able to get it to work very well, it just goes all over the place and doesn't deal much damage. Currently I classify it on the same level as whetstone, since I haven't yet found a time where it's ever worth using over anything else...
Super III is VERY situational. Like TOO situational. But the damage it deals soooo much damage than when you can make it work, it's just too satisfying.
But before I go to the examples in which you can safely use it, let me tell you that Super Art I is good in quite specific situations, too. That's because spamming EX shots deals way more damage. So Super Art I is useful mainly in situations like the last phase of both Beppi and Werner Werman because it sweeps all the enemies at once, but other than that, you're better of spamming EX shots, as I said above.
Now, the three levels in which Super Art III is useful are Ribby and Croaks, Werner Werman and the most important one, The Phantom Train.
Now, the first two ones don't necessarily need the Super Art, but it can shorten the second phase quite a lot if you use it at the end of the first phase. Unfortunately, I haven't found that it shortens the last phase, too. Maybe you're better with invincibility here but it's still a decent option if you know how to jump those platforms! Werner Werman easily with this, although you might feel safer with Super Art I sweeping all those ghosts.
Now the Phantom Train is probably the best use for this. You can almost skip the second phase with it and deal A LOT of damage in the third one if you're lucky with your parries.
Two other bosses that come to my mind now Brinetbeard and King Dice. It makes the last phase of the former much shorter and it deals too much damage to the latter.
Huh, that's good to know, seems it wasn't as useless as I thought. I don't know why I never thought to use it against King Dice, he's in the perfect hitbox for it and everything, but I'll definitely need to give that a try when I go back for the 2 strip filter. Thanks for the tips! :)
I find lobber so overrated, it has the same time to kill as roundabout. If you need less projectiles like for the dragon fight just go charge.
What makes Lobber better than Charge in some situations is that you don't need to aim. Against Honeybottoms's last phase and Grimmuck's second phase you have to do less effort when using Lobber than Charge. Plus, Lobber's EX shot is awesome since it not only does deal great damage, but it's also guaranteed to deal full damage in comparison to the S tier shots and it's unquestionably much better than Charge's.
The way speedrunners fight the bee is pretty much how I do it, she doesn't expose herself for too long so doing a charge shot into EX at point blank like 3 times each is pretty nasty burst even out damaging spread. I know being comfortable with aim is very important but it's really not too hard for me personally.
I never tried speedrunning, but S ranking her was much more difficult than I thought it would be I even had to equip Twin Hearts (although I ended up losing only one life). Iirc, I used Lobber's EX shot to finish it faster.
The whetstone is a great power up for the plane battles. If you use the bomb invisibility period you could hit the boss with up to four extra hits to cause more damage
I will always appreciate chaser. Was told to use it on diceman, once I turned it on I won
I never used it before him but it did make the fight way easier. Just avoiding his attacks not worrying about aiming.
In Khal's robot you can constantly parry his antenna while shooting at it to get rid of it faster. You can also get up close onto stationary plane bosses like the first 2 phases of Cala Maria and the last phases of both Hilda and Djimmi and just melt their health with a whetstone-firing combo
Used it on Dr Kahl's Robot and Cala Maria on expert where there's little room to move around and just firing at enemies that are right in front of you can't get the job done fast enough.
best super arts to use in cuphead

Super Art Types:
Boss Mechanics: Consider the specific mechanics of the bosses you face. Some Super Arts are more effective against certain bosses due to their attack patterns.
Playstyle: Choose a Super Art that complements your playstyle. If you prefer aggressive play, Super Art III might suit you. If you focus on dodging, Super Art II could be more beneficial.
