TL;DR While opinions vary, evenings (6-8 PM) and weekends (Saturday and Sunday mornings) are commonly cited as optimal times for posting on TikTok. However, content quality often outweighs timing in importance.
Evening Posting
Many creators find that posting in the evening, particularly between 6 PM and 7 PM, yields good engagement. This time aligns with when people are typically winding down after work or school [5:1]
[5:3]. One user noted that deviating from their usual evening posting schedule resulted in lower views, suggesting that consistency might play a role in how the algorithm treats your content
[5].
Weekend Mornings
Weekend mornings, specifically around 10 AM to 11 AM, have been highlighted as successful times for posting [5:2]
[5:8]. This could be due to audiences having more leisure time to engage with content during weekends compared to weekdays.
Content Quality Over Timing
Several users emphasized that the quality of the content is more crucial than the timing of the post. A strong hook in the first few seconds of the video can significantly impact its success [2:1]
[3:4]. Regardless of when you post, ensuring that your content is engaging and relevant to your audience is key.
Experimentation and Audience Insights
Experimenting with different times and analyzing audience activity can help refine your posting strategy. TikTok provides insights into when your followers are most active, which can guide your decision-making [3:2]. Additionally, niche-specific factors may influence optimal posting times, such as food content performing better in the evenings when viewers are thinking about dinner
[5:6].
Other Considerations
Some users also mentioned trying lunchtime (12 PM - 1 PM) and early morning (7 AM - 9 AM) posts, though results varied [5:4]
[5:7]. Ultimately, understanding your audience's habits and preferences is essential for determining the best posting times for your specific content.
I was wondering because it seems like everybody has different opinions on this.
Does it REALLY matter? Or is it just coincidence?
If not, when is the ideal time?
Personally, I don’t think it really matters. If your post is high quality it will eventually land on FYP’s of the target audience no matter what time you post it.

I’m wondering the same thing 😂😂
it doesnt matter
I post just about one video a day, through the buffer scheduler, and my videos range get anywhere from 1-2k to 50-100k views, and I've not been able to pinpoint that any particular time or day works or doesn't work--in spite of what the "best time to post on tiktok" webpages I was analyzing said. Some videos just pop off, some don't.
Hey guys! So I’ve been making content on TikTok for a while now and just kinda vibing with my upload times. No real plan, just posting whenever I feel like (sometimes 8pm,other times at midnight). I’ve had random videos blow up at weird hours and others totally flop even when I post during so-called “peak times.” Is there really a perfect time to post, or is that just marketing fluff?
I’ve seen so many mixed opinions on this and honestly, I’m still confused. Some people say evening is best, while others say it doesn’t matter as long as your video hits. How do you all decide when to post? Do you actually stick to a schedule, or just go with the flow? Would love to hear what’s been working for you. Is it worth being super organized or nah?
Fr fr I used to stress over “perfect” posting times but lately I’ve just been focusing on making the first 3 seconds solid and the rest kinda handles itself. Some of my best vids hit at random hours too, so now I just post when I’m done editing and it feels right. That said, I do try to stay semi-consistent just so I don’t ghost my audience. But yeah, content > timing every time IMO.
I think you’re right. First few seconds matter way more than the clock. If the hook’s solid, it can still pull crazy numbers. Guess I just need to focus on making the start catchy and not boring. Thanks for sharing, bro!
I kept hearing about how the times matter when posting to TikTok to ensure you have a higher chance at getting a viral video but i wanted to pick this groups brain to see if they’ve had any success with that. If there’s a time you like to post for these apps that you’ve noticed end up being more successful, hashtags that you’ve used that are very helpful, etc. thank you!! <3
Yes it can be a factor, and with tiktok it even shows you at what time your followers are more active. But the most important thing to take into account is that if the content isn't great you can post at prime time and in won't go great.
I am just starting out so I don't know about OF content, but I used to get the most engagement when I scheduled my podcast episodes to drop in the morning and a second teaser post when it was morning east coast usa. This was because people were waking up and listening to it on the way to work, or getting ready in the morning.
When it comes to interactions what is your aim? If you are wanting the most conversions you might want to drop your content late night usa time because they are gonna be home alone ready to crack one out. Or if you want to increase ur SFW following on insta, the best time is lunch.
Think about your intentions, think about your people and their habits, and then apply it to the timezones of your target countries. But don't completely stop posting at other times, because luck is your friend too. I went viral in Jamaica out of nowhere and I still don't know how that happened.
I believe that time posting it does not matter on socials (100% on YouTube) what’s matter is your content: if there is a hook(visual, informative) if there is a value, if it’s well made , if it’s funny these things matters as long as you have these things in your video to catch the attention you will always get good views
Personally I think niche matters most. Be very specific. I have a private page yet it grows becuase I know my niche.
YASSSS IT MATTERS!!!! I get like 1k max views posting at non peaks and my average for posting at peaks is around 7k, at most I’ve gotten 150k from a peak time! (TikTok specifically) Instagram is usually only before 12PM. There’s a bunch of info on Google for peak times if your audience doesn’t have their own yet so usually 12-2 4-7 and it fluctuates depending on the day of the week and the season we’re in! Hashtags vary as well but you can check trend sites to see which ones are currently working well! Make sure the hashtags and key words fully pertain to your content though!
12pm what zone? EST?
Is this for USA?
Is there an optimal time of day or night to post on tik tok? What times have you posted and felt you get the most engagement?
For me, around 6-8 PM on weekdays and 10 AM - 12 PM on weekends works well for engagement. But timing isn't everything! I also use Boost App Social to grab relevant hashtags, which has really boosted my visibility.
Experiment with your content and engage with comments quickly, and you'll likely see an uptick in interaction.
Thanks for the info!
Hey everyone! I've got around 33k followers and was hoping to get your thoughts on the best times to post content. This info would be super helpful for me and other creators out there.
Personally, I usually post between 6pm and 6:30pm British time, and it seems to work pretty well. But whenever I stray from that window, my views take a nosedive. I'm guessing the algorithm has figured out my schedule and adjusts accordingly, but I can't be totally sure.
I've been creating on and off for about a year, but now I'm really stepping up my game because of the new monetization program that just rolled out here in the UK. You'd think I'd have the timing down by now, but I'm still figuring it out.
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I've noticed a huge difference when I post on weekends versus weekdays. Saturday and Sunday mornings around 10am-11am have been gold for me. Have you experimented with weekends yet?
Evening posts have always worked best for me too. 6pm-7pm is prime time for my audience, which makes sense because most of them are winding down after a day of work or school.
I've noticed the same with weekends. My Saturday night posts sometimes blow up compared to weekdays. Definitely worth looking into weekend schedules.
Have you noticed any patterns in the days when it works versus when it doesn't? Maybe certain weekdays perform better?
I've found that posting around lunchtime (12pm-1pm) works best for me. I guess a lot of people are on their breaks and have time to scroll through their feeds. Have you tried that time slot?
I tried lunchtime posts too, but they didn't work as well for me. Maybe it's niche-specific? I post food content, so evenings when people are thinking about dinner tend to do better.
could be niche-specific. I do lifestyle and travel content, so I guess people might be looking for a break from work around noon
For me, mornings around 8am-9am get the most views. I think people check their phones first thing in the morning. Maybe give that a shot and see if it works for you?
I've been experimenting with early morning posts (around 7am) and it's been hit or miss. Some days it works great, other days not so much. I think it really depends on when your audience is most active.
Sounds like a lot of us have different experiences, but evenings generally seem to be a common theme. I guess it really does depend on your audience and what works best for them.
I think your usual posting time is pretty solid. I post around the same time (6pm-7pm) and it gets good engagement. The evenings seem to work well for people who are done with work or school.
Title
I do best when I post about an hour before my peak time.

For sure! For me, posting during peak hours when my target audience is most active has made a huge difference. From my experience, evening posts, say around 6-8 PM, work wonders. It's when most folks are winding down and scrolling their feeds. I always ensure to pair my posts with killer hashtags from Boost App Social. It's like the cherry on top that helps my posts get the attention they deserve.
do you think time zone hours make a difference? PT vs ET?
From my experience I've noticed a decent enough difference
Yes definitely.
In your opinion and experience what is the best time to post?
I post funny clips from movies. Even though my analytics say one thing, they seem to always perform best late at night. 12am pst etc
post a few hours before the peak of when most of your followers are online. but generally 1pm-9pm is when i post, i switch it up a little frequently though. most people are generally online after 3pm -7pm
Thursday evening into Friday.
It doesn't matter
Any time. I've done all times of day. middle of the night. morning. My response is generally the same. Tik Tok seems to push it to FYP for 48 hours. If I post in the middle of the night... maybe the initial views are low, but it picks up later and evens out.
I keep hearing different advice about the “best” time to post on TikTok, but I’m not sure if it’s actually true or just a myth. Some people say early mornings or late nights work best, while others say it depends on your audience.
For context, I run a motivational faceless page, so my content isn’t tied to a specific region or time zone. Should I be following a strict posting schedule, or does TikTok’s algorithm just push good content no matter when you post?
Would love to hear from anyone with experience or insights!
for me it hasnt rly mattered i just post in the afternoon—when my followers are active (but not the specific hr they’re most active)— and my vids seem to do fairly well
Your stats will show you when peak engagement is for your videos. My audience is primarily tuning in between 6 & 7 pm Pacific.
I would generally post around 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m and 10:00 p.m.. that way you get the lunch crowd the dinner crowd and the before bed crowd
nothing between 1 am-7 am
Yes. You need to understand your audience. If your account/id has a good number of followers/viewers, then you need to analyze and post according to the most viewed time.
Otherwise, you have to follow the general time when people are more available for using TikTok.
You can also use a social media management platform like SocialPilot, Hootsuite, or Buffer, where you can easily schedule posts.
Hi everyone! Quick question. When is the best time to upload a video on tiktok? I know there is no secret time when videos go viral and stuff like that. But I'm sure that there is 2 or 3 best times in a day when there is biggest traction that can help a little bit. So can someone tell me from their experince when is that? Also my audicence is mostly from US.
doesnt matter

It depends on several factors. Geographic location/timezone, niche of content, target audience
Id suggest going thru the content of creators who make similiar content and see what times they post
Thank you so much brother ❤️🤝🏻🫂
I would try different times but I feel like the best time is around lunch and around 5 pm
I don't think it matters. I found that posts I'd made hours earlier would surge at a certain time. I think TikTok figures it out for you
