What Redditors are Saying

Best Websites to Buy Concert Tickets

When looking for concert tickets, it's important to consider the reliability of the website, potential fees, and the availability of tickets. Here are some of the best options based on user experiences:

Ticketmaster and AXS

Ticketmaster is one of the most commonly used platforms for purchasing tickets due to its reliability and immediate ticket transfer [1:1]. AXS is another reputable option often linked directly from venue websites, ensuring legitimacy [2:2].

Live Nation

Live Nation is a universal site often used for purchasing concert tickets. While some users find their ethics questionable, it remains a popular choice when other options are unavailable [2:1].

TickPick and Cash or Trade

For those looking to avoid heavy fees, TickPick is recommended as it offers a no-fee ticket marketplace [4:1]. Similarly, Cash or Trade provides a platform for fans to buy, sell, and trade tickets at face value, promoting ethical resale practices [4:4].

Direct Purchases from Artists or Venues

Buying directly from the artist's official website or the venue's box office can be a great way to ensure you're getting legitimate tickets without additional fees [4:3][5:1].

PULP Tickets, SM Tickets, and TicketNet

In specific regions, such as the Philippines, PULP Tickets is exclusively used for online ticketing, while SM Tickets and TicketNet are available for physical outlet purchases [3:2]. PULP Tickets also offers a convenient process with randomly generated adjacent seats, which can reduce website traffic during high-demand sales [3:3].

Considerations Beyond the Discussions

While these sites are popular and generally reliable, always verify the legitimacy of the site through the venue or artist's official channels. Additionally, consider using cashback portals like TopCashback to save money on purchases through major ticket platforms [5:2].

ORIGINAL POST

What websites do you usually use to buy/sell concert or sporting event tickets? Why?

Musicaddict_26 · 1 year ago

I typically use ticketmaster. I know their prices are more expensive but I just feel more comfortable using it (especially since the ticket transfer is almost immediate). I have looked into stub hub and seat geek but just can't commit to buying the tickets as they are all advertised as you will recieve the tickets within 48 hours of the event and I just don't want to risk it

Ticketmaster and AXS mainly, go to the venues page and follow the link to the official seller before buying used or from scalpers.

If you go to the website of whatever band (or venue) you want to see, they often have a link to where you can buy tickets.

It was a link to ticketmaster. Spent about 90 dollars for 2 tickets. Any advice for first concert though? Kinda scary lmao

It isn't any more scary than going to a sporting event or similar but I understand if it's the first time. Just follow everyone else, if there's a stream of people that's likely where the entrance is. Look at the tickets if there's any particular area you should be in. If there is, you might need to use a particular entrance. You can then look at the web page of the venue if they have any instructions, ask the personnel working at the venue or ask here on Reddit. If it's a larger venue, chances are that there's someone here that knows it. If it's smaller then it's usually pretty straight forward.

And I'd recommend not drinking too much so you'll remember more and get a better overall experience. I always try to drink a little bit less than if I go to a party.

Live nation is the universal site to use but their ethics are a bit off-putting but sometimes there's no other choice.

Now that the MCR concert tickets prices are announced, I want your honest suggestion on which website to buy. Based on experience sana. Yung walang lag, mabilis ang response at mas mabilis ang payment.

Dito daw pwede bumili ng tickets:

  1. Pulptickets
  2. Smtickets
  3. Ticketnet

Maximum of 10 tickets daw ang allowed per user kaya digmaan ito sa September 6.

Online ticketing is exclusive at PULP Tickets lang.

SM Tickets and TicketNet are for on-site/physical outlet ticketing only. You can't use their online sites to buy tickets for MCR.

Haven't experienced buying from PULP Tickets eh, so can't say. You can check the responses on the recent two posts if may nakapagkwento na:

  • I'm an old timer. Last concert I went to was 2016. So how does ticket buying work now?
  • What to expect when buying tickets from PULP (e.g. strategies, tips)?

Meanwhile, may at least 3 posts on PULP Tickets re: the BINIverse ticketing sa PH Arena, though mostly not positive:

  • Pulp Ticketing System for GBVWT
  • BINI fans receive bad ticket transactions with PULP tickets
  • 250208 | pulptickets X update ✨

Although hindi naman ako nakahanap masyado ng posts about their other previous ticketing (IU at PH Arena and ENHYPEN at New Clark Stadium), so baka nag-improve na sila at nakapaghanda for the upcoming MCR concert.

If there’s one thing na convenient sa PULP Ticketing, yun yung hindi ka pwede pumili ng seats (randomly generated siya, pero adjacent seats pa rin naman ang makukuha mo). So people literally just enter the website, select their desired number of seats, and then pay (pero sana naman hindi 10 per user yung max). Hindi nagtatagal yung mga tao sa mismong website, which lessens traffic.

Alam ko issue ito para sa iba yung hindi nila mapili yung desired seats nila, pero for me, it’s not really that big of a deal, as long as hindi obstructed yung view ko sa stage.

Hahaha

yourevilmind · 2 months ago

I would say no.

I have tried PULP Tickets na for the IU concert. Got 4 tickets at magkakatabi naman. I think ang logic is basta may available sa ticket tier and section, magpupush yan at magkatabi kayo.

To save 5% on Ticketmaster and StubHub purchases, use TopCashback, a cashback portal that pays you every time you shop. TopCashback pays you for purchases made with 7,000+ retailers worldwide, and this unique signup link gets you an additional $15 bonus.

Etix is most often a primary marketplace where the box office sells their tickets. Just go to the venue website and click the buy tickets link if you are unsure.

AXS tickets is decent, but they don't overlap with the same concerts as Ticketmaster.

Unfortunately Ticketmaster has a monopoly on most concert venues, unless you go to clubs or street parties which are not associated with Ticketmaster. Maybe google “live music “ for your area and see what you find.

Ah that’s a bummer. I’m trying to get Our Lady Peace tickets since they’ll be in my state for their upcoming tour. I tried live nation and it just took me to Ticketmaster 🥲

The kicker there is that sometimes you can buy tickets overseas, pay for a flight and the hotel and still be paying less than Ticketmaster charges in North America.

What website should I buy concert tix for NJ show on?

Posted by Any-Way-4078 · in r/systemofadown · 7 months ago

Hi yall!! I loooveee system of a down and I live near NJ so I thought I’d go there for the show! However, I usually stay in-state for concerts and am not up to date with using concert ticket websites - what is most trustworthy? I’ve heard horror stories about people not getting let in due to shady sites and I love this band too much to risk it.

I have three options - Seatgeek, VividSeats and StubHub. They’re all around 300~ which is great for my wallet but is it trustworthy? Ticket master is around 400~ but if it means I’m guaranteed a seat I’ll have to consider it. Sorry if this comes off worry wartish - this is just my first big concert!

And also how are SOAD pits like? I’ve only moshed at a very small show pit (100-200ppl show) and I am eager to get some real experience! However, I am pretty short so should I be a little more cautious?

Thanks so much for putting up with my Question! And btw, MY COCK IS MUCH BIGGER THAN YOURS!

Not sure about any of the concert tickets questions, but as far as your pit question, System concerts are absolute insanity on the floor. You might want to stand back if being pushed against for the hour and a half they're on stage isn't for you. I got seats because I'm too old for that anymore.

But for double the price. I genuinely hate how big of a scam their entire business model is. It’s one thing to have a service fee, and it’s another thing to exploit the living shit out of people.

Key Considerations for Buying Concert Tickets Online:

  1. Reputation and Trustworthiness: Choose well-known platforms with positive reviews to avoid scams. Look for sites that guarantee ticket authenticity.

  2. Fees and Pricing: Be aware of additional fees that can significantly increase the total cost. Compare prices across different platforms to find the best deal.

  3. Seat Selection: Some websites offer interactive seating charts, allowing you to choose your preferred seats. This can enhance your concert experience.

  4. Mobile Access: Consider platforms with mobile apps for easy access and ticket management, especially if you need to transfer tickets or access them on the go.

  5. Customer Service: Look for sites with good customer support in case you encounter issues with your purchase.

Recommended Websites:

  • Ticketmaster: The largest ticketing platform with a wide selection of events and a reliable reputation.

  • Vivid Seats: Known for a user-friendly interface and a rewards program that can save you money on future purchases.
