General Strategy Tips
When tackling bosses in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, understanding the mechanics and exploiting weaknesses is key. For most bosses, using defensive spells such as Manawall, Regen, Protect, and Shell can make battles more manageable [3:1]. Additionally, utilizing characters like Barret for tanking can help absorb damage and keep your team alive
[5:3].
Specific Boss Strategies
For particularly challenging bosses, players have shared various strategies that focus on timing and character abilities. One approach involves staggering the boss before it executes its powerful attack, allowing you to avoid significant damage [5:1]. Using Aerith's Lustrous Shield can block incoming attacks effectively, making fights more bearable
[3:4].
Character Utilization
Different characters offer unique advantages depending on the situation. Yuffie is noted for her ability to deal high damage quickly, which can be crucial in certain fights [1]. Aerith's new moveset in Rebirth, including Radiant Ward, provides a strategic advantage by turning her into a turret with teleport capabilities
[5:11]. Cloud's aerial combos are also effective for dealing consistent damage
[5:11].
Handling Difficult Mechanics
Some bosses have mechanics that require specific strategies to overcome. For instance, using Magnify combined with Barrier or Manawall can mitigate damage from area attacks [1:9]. When faced with bosses that have insta-wipe moves, casting Reraise can ensure survival and allow you to continue the fight
[3:7].
Adaptability and Persistence
Finally, adaptability and persistence are important. Players often find themselves adjusting their strategies based on trial and error. It's beneficial to experiment with different party compositions and abilities until you find what works best for each encounter [2:4],
[3:5]. Remember, some bosses might require multiple attempts to understand their patterns and develop an effective strategy
[5:2].
I've beaten this boss fight twice now on hard mode and damn does it make me feel like a champion at end because of the fantastic music!!! I've beaten it on hard mode without any guide. The first time was harder. My party was Cloud, Red XIII, and Aerith. It took me like almost two hours to figure it out on hard mode. The most problematic thing was the lava. I won't tell you how to deal with that here. The second time, I used Cloud, Yuffie, and Aerith. IT'S SO MUCH MORE EASIER! So you can make this battle more difficult if you like, I mean without Yuffie, it was twice as difficult. I wouldn't dare to try to use different party sets in this battle. That would be pain!! I figured it out on my own. That's enough for me!
Tell me how to deal with the lava, I survived this battle abusing reraise haha
Only three ways to counter it in hard mode. Destroying the chest to reduce the range doesn’t work on hard mode, even though the tooltip still says it will.
Stagger and kill him before he uses it.
Tank the damage. Use magnify/barrier, cast a magnify/curaga or pray while you’re taking damage, use Barret’s lifesaver ability to save your other two party members etc.
Use reraise to ensure at least one party member survives, then res the others (wouldn’t recommend this personally).
Magnify barrier or Barret lifesaver strats are probably the easiest to pull off.
I used reraise 3 times lol maybe I'm not dealing enough damage.
Never used barrier either, I sletp on that one
I used an ability I never use, the soothing breeze enemy skill to tank through it lol. Need manaward on everyone too though.
Barrett with Lifesaver makes this fight super manageable. If things get bad he should be the only one that dies during lava and then go for the quick rez and back to Lifesaver/Chakra hack.
That's a great strategy
I liked this boss as well. On my hard mode playthrough, its crimson breath 3 would always proc even when I destroyed its chest, so I just had to beat him before he even got to that point in the fight.
I don’t think I used yuffie once in this fight lol. Explains why I wanted to cry because of the amount of times I died.
So glad I read this. I haven't arrived there yet but it's nice to know how to select the party on this.
Use magnify + manawall and it should be fairly easy.
Jus thought id share a lil strategy i came up with since I see alot of others struggling with this particular combat simulation mission. i developed what i think is a great strategy/setup for this battle. I was able to beat this relatively easily with this method.(after alot of trial and error) : Equip 1 character with emfeeblment ring to essentially take 1 party member outta the battle. I also had Aerith equip auto cast with binding materia (sleep) and used cloud with first strike materia, binding materia and limit siphon materia. Youll start with a full atb. Have cloud keep sleeping the 2 adds right off the bat and in between use the siphon limit materia to siphon off the other characters limit gague to jus pound the mindslayer as hard as possible with limit breaks. (Try to avoid AOE's too, also if you manage to stagger the mindflayer or close to a stagger try to have 2 atb gagues full and use infinitys end ability as it does huge damage to staggered enemies) while Aerith will jus cast sleep every time her atb fills (occasionally she gets it right and sleeps the adds). Also helps alot to change your combat settings to fixed so u can jus lock onto mind flayer and not have to worry about accidentally targeting the adds and waking them up. Also magic efficiency materia to conserve clouds MP or magic focus materia that extends length of spell works well too as it keeps em asleep a lil longer. I also used MP Up for cloud since I didn't have a ton of MP to keep sleeping them.(Also no item usage 🙄) But that's where Aeriths auto cast comes in handy as she is usually in the back of the field and tends to target them with the autocast more easily while u chip away at the mindflayer. U can also change the difficulty settings to easy to make it a lil easier on yourself as far as the enemies HP goes. if u so choose too that is. Considering how many ppl ive seen struggle with this(myself included) most prob wont have much shame about changing the difficulty outta shear frustration. It took alotta trial and error to figure out this method but it worked phenomenally well! I downed the mindflayer in 2 relatively quickly gained limit breaks and also had enough time after to kill the 2 adds before they self destructed on me. Hope this helps anyone that is stuck on this and best of luck! 🤘
I tried the Barret solo method I’d seen somebody do but got too frustrated. I ended up using Cloud and Tifa(less characters to control the better) so I could use synergy attacks. Spam magnify+sleep to keep the adds from getting too close then unleash onto Mindflayer. Rinse and repeat til he’s dead.
I was gonna try the sleep + magnify if I kept running outta MP on cloud but luckily aerith was able to pick up the slack with auto cast 💪
The only way I was able to beat this BS challenge was to solo Yufi, run around a bunch, sometimes cast magnify+sleep. I basically ran in quick and did as much damage as possible and then ran around avoiding the area effects and the spheres the mind flayer lobs at you. Every other character was too slow and would keep getting caught in the area effect garbage. It took like 7 mins but it was better than the 50 times I tried everything else. It was Yufi with Speed Materia, Magnify+Sleep, Lightning (because of the weapon buff), Healing, Enemy Skill, Time (used Haste a lot). Such a pain.
Yeah I found it to be harder than the last boss battle if I'm being honest! Thnx for sharing your strategy I'll def try that on my next play thru for sure!
I used barret and tifa. Took couple tries to not have barret unload on the little guys but was able to beat it.
I put that hoe on easy mode and used sleep on the little worm assholes. That shit worked
That was basically how I did it too! 😂 shit was frustrating af for a bit tho not gonna lie 😬
Cloud and Red work pretty well here and was able to beat in like 2-3 attempts (after days of trying other techniques).
Essentially just keep running away and using ranged howling smash synergy skill. Use sleep with magnify when you have a lot of ATB built and want to spam on the mindflayer without worrying about the tentacle dudes or are about to unleash a synergy ability and want to make sure mindflayer won't disappear or accidentally hit the little ones.
Casting slow (or stop) on mindflayer also calms the situation down. Steadfast block to build atb at a distance and precision block to get extra stagger damage when you strategically move in with Cloud for focused thrust.
Cloud and Reds synergy skill raises the limit so once you've staggered him (and try to time with sleeping the tentacles) then for a lvl2 limit and nuts with ATB attacks to get the mind flayer close to dead.
Keep running away and using ranging howling smash afterwards till you can finish him off.
The big win here is howling smash as it teleports red to you (avoiding the stuns and suicide attacks hitting him) and you just focus on keeping distance with Cloud.
You can do a similar and even better version of this with Barret and the bullet batter skill (does way more damage on the mind flayer) but Cloud and Barrets synergy ability is kinda useless in this battle and doesn't pressure the flayer. Cloud and red have a great synergy ability to pressure and damage him and unlock next level limits.
Just looking for thoughts on bosses on Hard mode (aside from the commonly discussed such as Sephiroth and Rufus) that are sneaky tough, along with any tips to overcome.
I beat Rebirth on release week, but put it down for a very long time. I recently started again and am doing my Hard Mode run. Thus far, I've gotten through a lot without much trouble. Some bosses I've heard are tough weren't that bad for me, such as Crimson Mare Mk II. But I found some other bosses are incredibly under-the-table difficult. Namely:
Midgardsormr. No Yuffie ATB cheese and does massive physical damage. Squishy characters die on their own.
Gi Nattak. At the end of a dungeon with some very unforgiving damage. Concept of the fight really discourages healing.
White Terror. Fuck that flaming bastard. I'm so glad he's finally dead. That is all I can say.
The red dragon guardian made me very frustrated. His upgraded ability to drown the area with lava is explained poorly in his description, so there was a lot not trial and error.
Felt so fucking good after I beat him on the 10+ try.
I still feel like he's glitched on Hard Mode. You can't soften the blow of his move so it's an insta kill. You have to have Reraise cast to beat him. It's one of the very few things I think is really unfair in the design of rebirth.
Agreed. This, and Flowers on the Hill, were the most cheap fights in the game in hard mode.
You don't need Reraise, but it definitely makes it easier. Shell/Manawall and Regen can technically get you through it. Even setting up a heal cast right before you start taking damage.
This also brings up one of the big problems with bosses that stop taking damage to show a cutscene; The break bar seems to line up with the cutscene WAY too often. Where if you don't control the amount of stagger damage you do, you're going to stagger them and then waste the stagger because you were almost at a cutscene. Then, you start a second phase with an empty stagger bar. They REALLY need to figure out something else for the next game.
Manawall, Regen, Protect, and Shell makes it easier to survive. I switched Cloud out for Barret as well to beat this boss. His tanking abilities really helped. I couldn’t justify using Reraise and its high MP cost with the rest of the chapter remaining.
If you've done your due diligence and assessed the bosses on Normal, it's pretty easy to set yourself up for succes using their weaknesses on Hard Mode before you go into the fight.
Having said that, GI Nattack was a bit of a bastard for me on my second hard mode run. Any boss that has an insta-wipe move stresses me out and I make bad choices 😂
Aerith has Lustrous Shield that just blocks everything. After you cast firaga once and weed their numbers it's bearable.
Fire spells to exploit weakness.
With Aerith, I ran behind a rock that blocked their seed shots. Arcade Ward+ATB Boost+Firax2=Victory fanfare.
Not really a boss but the Cait vs two adjudicators in Chapter 11 took me many retries because I couldn't figure out how to dodge the sudden 9999-damage attacks
I literally just finished that fight, managing to kill both before they could cast ????. Fire-Elemental on armor, ATB Boost, and Moogle Knuckle was key.
I fucking hated that fight even on normal! I just beat it on hard the other day and still could not tell you how I managed it.
There are definitely fights that I struggled with on normal but weren't an issue on hard but so far that's the only one that broke me on both
Not even a boss but the quest Flowers on the Hill on hard mode is a complete nightmare if you don't think of using a particular spell, and it's literally one hour in. It's one of the few times I died during the story of hard mode.
Yeah, this was 100% the most difficulty I had in hard mode save for VR. Even with certain spells it's still very difficult to get them off and I had to change Aerith's setup completely.
Playing a caster in any kind of voice chat can be kind of funny when a round goes from "dude why did you ditch us to go to cathedral we really needed help with that miranda flower" to "ohhhhhhh I see thanks dude," if you're able to drop blood/blackflame or find a good AOE heal for night 3. I think the heal is what I'm usually happiest to see on recluse or duchess, as you can sometimes be pretty hard up for ways to help people who are down more than one bar, and preventing that situation from existing is usually worth prioritizing over everything else. I do hope that this everdark cycle helps more players take a closer look at seals, but especially non-casters who can benefit from some healing or weapon support incants
Easiest is to use Raider and stock up on Damage Negation passives & warming stones throughout the run. I stayed in one spot with occasional dodging from bubbles and of course just dodging to the side for the laser beams.

i lost count hahah, it had to be around 20 attempts. i’m not some virtuoso on the sticks and i found that boss TOUGH. if i took significant damage i gave up and restarted so that drove up the attempts counter quite a bit as well.
i used Tifa and Aerith, started with A to get her wards in place and her tempest made short work of the enemies Phx will spawn. the trick was to ensure that upon the 1st stagger everyone’s ATBs are full and Tifa’s Unbridled Strength is maxed out. then like most bosses, spam Tifa’s multiplier abilities, Clouds Limit, Aerith Blizzaga (can attach Level Up to Ice) and that should do it. when i finally got it it was comically easy and over in about a minute, i felt pretty cool
I told my friend who was having difficulty in the later Chapters of Remake to use Barret cuz he's very forgiving. Being more tanky and ranged. In Rebirth I'd still say to those having trouble try using Barret and Yuffie more.
I feel like im doing something wrong here...
Aerith basically feels impossible to use as the enemy hyperfocuses on her the second you swap. Is there no breathing room or anything?
Fun otherwise, but this is annoying.
EDIT: Maybe im just a bit rattled from the difficulty spike... Guess ill just have to keep using her until i figure out how heh.
I know you don’t have to tear something down to build something up, but I just want to say it’s so weird to me that this studio (albeit a different team) also made FF16 at the same time. I understand some people like that game’s combat, but I hate it so much. Normal attacks feel weak and pointless, boss fights are giant damage sponges, and the cooldown based combat (with again, ineffective feeling normal attacks) means that I just perfect dodge around (which is way too easy and has no consequence for failing if your timing is off) and do chip damage while I wait to unload almost all of my skills in the same rotation on the next boss stagger. This is straight up bad. It’s all spectacle and no substance.
Rebirth combat is the anti-16. Normal attacks are meaty and powerful, and aside from doing legitimate damage and stagger they build up the atb meters. The perfect parry system creates a real risk-reward gambit and requires more attentiveness than 16’s dodging. I’m constantly making tactical decisions about how to best use my atb meters, and I’m controlling three characters simultaneously, each with their own unique moves and role on the battlefield, partially dictated by their stats and move set and partially determined by my choices in their materia loadout. This is fantastic. It’s succeeding as both an action game and an rpg.
Anybody else feel the same way? I know I can’t be alone in thinking this.
Both projects had different goals in mind.
In FF16 you can simply dodge 95% of the attacks by pressing R1 and then whatever other attack buttons you press, you will simply win any fight. This was probably intentional, as fights tend to be extremely cinematic and long and they didn't want the player to restart them and break immersion. Some players liked it, others didn't, but no one can deny the spectacle. I enjoyed it for a single playthrough, but won't be replaying the game as there is no deep combat strategy to latch on.
In the Remake project, they are definitely doubling down on combat strategy while significantly expanding many other gameplay elements. Hamaguchi stated the Remake project combat style is his favourite and likely to be the example for future projects.
There is no strategy in rebirths combat. I can fly around infinitely like a idiot with cloud and keep mashing attack. Stop tryna make it sound deep because you break away from the combat to do some micro menus
do chip damage while I wait to unload almost all of my skills in the same rotation on the next boss stagger.
Like "focus" attacks in this game, 16 had "will" attacks that were specifically for staggering enemies faster. If you were "doing chip damage while I wait to upload all of my skills" you were not using a good chunk of your best tools to actually make enemies stagger quicker.
I also feel like this criticism, atleast from what I've seen in both demos, absolutely applied to Remake and applies to FF7R: your normals are just the thing you do to make your actual impactful skills and abilities from expending ATB come around faster. Staggering is basically still THE goal for bosses and big enemies. In fact, add in Tifa's ability to increase the multiplier and it's almost point for point the same gameplay loop as 16: use skills to get the enemy into a stagger state, build the multiplier, dump all your biggest damage skills on the enemy before stagger is over, rinse and repeat.
I would say the actual big difference is that the weakness system and enemies having specific gimmicks for how you can more easily pressure and stagger them adds a very minor tactical element to the game that wasn't present in 16's combat. But this makes sense, since Remake/Rebirth needs to create gameplay reasons for you to use the various party members (a welcome change imo from the original FF7 where the most important thing felt like your overall level and materia setup, with the particulars of who was in your party being mostly irrelevant to combat beyond personal choice.)
I woulda preferred an aggro system, ngl.
It is overarchingly fun, its just "Some" bosses seem to have a hateboner for Aerith.
Barret was a good tank in the first game, so i could see that happening.
Espicially once i got access to lifesaver, so i dont have to worry about aerith dying too fast.
This is easily closest to Kingdom hearts 1-2 transition in terms of improving combat. It’s flashy like 16 but it actually has substance and isn’t just waiting on cool downs to refresh.
Aerith’s new moveset is bonkers. Radiant ward turning her into a turret machine with a built in teleport is fantastic. My least favorite character in remake easily turned into one of the best. Cloud being able to perform Aerial Combos at will with the blade beams makes him feel so strong and a lot faster.
Then there’s Tifa who has absolutely insane aerial combos. Unbridled strength allowing her to literally dunk enemies in the air is fucking bonkers. When you can ragdoll the enemies, Tifa’s combos are so cinematic.
Red XIII is our first true tank and they’ve managed to maintain a fast paced loop while being able to cancel into a guard at any point with sentinel stance.
Barrett is most similar but I feel like he is there to help transition the player into understand rebirth combat.
This game is already proving to be amazing. I cannot wait to see Yuffie in action. All the characters are so perfect and unique that I’m having trouble choosing what team composition I want to play. They’re all so fun and good. Thursday can’t come soon enough
There are videos up of ppl soloing that fight with one character and taking no damage.
There's a Tifa one that is "no damage, no limit breaks, no magic"
I think it took me 3 tries in my first playthrough with Cloud+Tifa+Red, but I got lucky with timings and multiplying stagger damage before it could do the big attack.
On my second playthrough with Aerith instead of Tifa, it was more challenging as I had to do manaward and fire+elemental in armour in order to tank the big attack, otherwise I would get wiped!
That fight is all about surviving the big attack and recovering quickly afterwards to finish off the boss. It is predictable because it always happens once you take more than 50% of its health, so you need to have enough ATB up by then.
I did a crazy run beating the entire hard mode in one day but I had just finished normal mode so no Genji Gloves and boosted stategies and some key materia were not max level.
I spent hours and hours in the last couple of fights and was able to reach the last battle with Aerith. But my build for Aerith was too bad and I ended kinda soft locked.
I restarted the whole fight to redo the builds to make Aerith stronger and some other battles on the way that I struggled a lot easier, but then fights I didn't struggle got difficult (due to the rearranging of materia), but I knew that by passing them, I'd be able able to reach Sephiroth and beat him with my new build.
On the last fight I had to play almost perfectly and got lucky with one attack leaving Aerith with 37hp and I was able to heal her.
Sephiroth started his last attack and I was able to send a firaga with Cloud, stun him and cast Transcendence for the win.
Honestly, this was one of the toughest boss runs I ever did. I don't like to compare games, but I'm comparing only my personal experience, to me this was way harder than dlc Radhan on Elden Ring, because I had to make a complete team build and balance it, besides needing to dodge, parry and do on point decision making through out the entire chapter (I love Enden Ring too, and it was pretty hard too, but there I got used to the move set and was able to beat it).
If you'd like to, I can send my build and what was my strategy. This was so rewarding I just wanted to share my experience =D
If you get a game over against the final Sephiroth fight, isn't there a checkpoint for the fight and you can open the menu to change your builds. No need to start the whole gauntlet over?
You have a chance to redo the build when you reach Sephiroth with Zack. But in the final fight I didn't notice it would let me get to the menu :/
At least I was able to reach the final fight with more mana on Cloud.
Tbh, my mind was not functioning well due to the entire hard mode run on one day.
doing hard mode within a day is a crazy feat! I just finished it two days ago and the final fight was a nightmare, partially because I game overed on first phase Sephiroth and didn’t notice that I had ti redo my loadout and found out at phase 4 and maan the last fight was terrible with Aerith having only HP/MP plus and a cure without magnify
I hear you about not comparing games too directly but I think when you’re focusing in on combat or hard fights it makes more sense to compare those elements to other games for that specific discussion
People don’t typically talk a lot about builds here that I see but some days I’m only scrolling by. I welcome it, post whatever you think is helpful and doesn’t take much of your time. People will see it, people will find it in search.
We still have lots of people who haven’t done all of Hard Mode or even played Rebirth and we have people who are waiting for Part 3 so there are plenty who will benefit still
I'll say this, F that last level in hard difficulty with unskippable cutscenes, F those Top Secrets battles both main game and DLC and F that Immaculate. Those battles were so stressful. But a very good game.
Now I am hearing that Rebirth is way grindier and way harder in every aspect... I think I am fine not attempting that one.
Congratulations, Rebirth is easier than remake 😅😅.
I also got the platinum for Remake and I'm currently working on Rebirth — what makes you think Rebirth is easy?
I have the decks of both, believe me Remake is a joke compared to Rebirth with the VR fights, even the DLC boss is simpler
Don’t think so honestly. Rebirth is over double the time, has far more minigames where some you have to play basically perfect. Plus the vr battles are way harder than remake. I still loved doing it though
How did you do the score attack thing for Yuffie? I tried it for ages and didn't get it.
What do you mean? The boxes challenge?
Yeah. I'd always get to the very end and fail.
I hear ya! I'm not trying either of them, congratulations to you for even getting this one. I love final fantasy games, always have. I've played them all, but they are known for some brutally hard trophy lists. I'm looking at you ff9 and ff10, lol.
Oh, I don't think there is a harder trophy than jumping the rope I don't know how many times in a row, this game is a cakewalk compared to that one. But yeah, basically the game pushes you to play in a very different way against some of the battles, meaning if you don't have leveled up the materia needed you are going to have to grind or have a very very hard time.
I also have that plat. I thought the hell house on hard was gonna be impossible, but I got really lucky and beated first try, maybe the dragon shit was difficult? But once you have the right set is a walk in the park. 10/10 game imo, the platinum not so much, it’s a grind for real and made me wanted to take a break from the series.
Working on this now, on chapter 5 hard mode, it’s kind of a fun challenge so far. Congrats!
Hard mode is not that hard tbh, only Chapter 18 gets frustrating because it consist in 2 long battles, you mess it up at the end of the first one and you are going to go all the way back with all the unskippable cutscenes. The really hard ones are the 3 vs top secrets and another boss you unlock by playing the dlc.
The last post was so popular, so you all must want a follow-up!
Anyway, this boss fight was super difficult! I think it took me three hours to win. Thank goodness you can turn off encounters in this game, right?
Again. Viking being the hidden gem of FF3.
I remember having to spam Provoke on FF3 Remake superboss just so he wouldn't anahilate my entire team.
How…? Wouldn’t Particle Beam just insta-wipe you?
It is actually the Vikings living through it with M Def and Turtle Shell / Defender. I use a Phoenix Down every turn on the Ninja with all the agility gear.
It turns out the best gear in the game plus the Viking ability at critical HP plus the defensive magic lets you take 1 damage from every attack, no matter what level.
I knew this was possible in theory, but I never thought I'd actually see someone pull it off. Nice going. Three hours for a single boss fight is insanity.
How did your Ninja manage to actually survive a Particle Beam?
EDIT: Never mind, you explained elsewhere that level 1 characters are revived with 3 HP.
Now that’s strategy…!
Kudos, amazing work!
OP discovered how to MDEF it to manageable levels, apparently. Doesn't even look like Viking's passive given that there's a Ninja there who's below raise range yet still alive.
I am using Phoenix Downs on the Ninja(s). The Ninja has all the best agility boosting gear and seems to take their turn before the boss about 25% of the time.
Hold on, actually? How did you manage this?
Is this 1/1/1/8, using the Viking's critical HP increased defence buff to tank the Particle Beam spam?
You got it! I also need the Turtle Shell / Defender use or I still die.
Max protective gear Vikings in the back row with Turtle Shell / Defender can survive every attack in the game taking only 1 damage, even at level 1. Phoenix Down unfortunately brings lvl 1 members back with only 3 HP, so I only have one Viking left here.
This is incredible. I am almost finished beating every single PR tame with the Exp off. 3 and 4 are the only 2 I have left to do and I'm at the end of both. 6 I did with only Celes, Edgar and Setzer.
I think I’m decent at games. And then I see things like this. I hated my no exp ff6 run. It was torture. I can’t imagine ff3
This game certainly isn't FFX, but the run was actually pretty fun. I think the job exp, gil booster and option to turn off encounters really cut down on the grinding time.
If you give it a try, it might be a smoother run than you think!
Creative lol
Back when the game first came out in my infancy of RPG playing, I didn't grind like I do nowand I pulled a super stupid move. I put the Save Crystal the entrance of the Northern Cave. So I ahd to fight all the way down, beat everyone and not die. My characters were around level 60. Didn't have all the cool shit: No Knights, not many mastered Materia, no mime. It was brutal but it was one hell of an experience.
Don't do what I did. Lol.
Fast breed a gold chocobo (there’s a YouTube video on it ) knights of the round + quad + mime and it’s over for anyone
Quad+Kotr doesnt work.
You need ribbon equipped and supernoba shouldnt kill you. When safer goes in the air cast regen+all suoernova will do aroujd 90% damagd and you'll heal if you have ribbon you'll not get confused and you can remedy those affected and/or use a megalixer to heal party.
I did some grinding for a couple of hours, leveled up my materia and my characters, and I finally beat it. It took me 23 years to finally beat this game.
Congrats! Now sit back and enjoy the best ending credit music compilation in the series (in my personal opinion).
I loved it. The music in this game has played in my head since the first time I played it.
Replace Cid with Yuffie or Barret so everyone is in the back row.
Go grab some HP Up materias to get everyone to at least 8000 (possible 7777).
Get the ultimate weapon for everyone in your party (this will help far more than leveling up).
Equip a Ribbon on at least one party member, but preferably all of them.
Make sure everyone is Sad.
Get the enemy skill, Big Guard and spam it.
Use Limit Breaks that hit multiple times.
Lastly, keep Regen up and Cure 3 as needed.
Should be cake.
And I always just use my main party.
> Make sure everyone is Sad.
Out of context, this is hilarious advice
I'll be at Final Sephiroth this weekend, why the sad?
30% less damage.
Stigma ballz in your mouth! Haha gottem
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth boss strategies
Key Considerations for Boss Strategies in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Know Your Bosses: Each boss has unique mechanics and attack patterns. Familiarize yourself with their moves to anticipate and counter them effectively.
Character Roles: Utilize the strengths of your party members. For example, use Cloud for melee damage, Barret for ranged attacks, and Aerith for healing and magic support.
ATB Management: Make sure to manage your ATB (Active Time Battle) gauge effectively. Use it for powerful abilities, spells, and healing when necessary. Prioritize building ATB during less intense phases of the fight.
Elemental Weaknesses: Pay attention to elemental weaknesses of bosses. Use spells and abilities that exploit these weaknesses for maximum damage.
Dodge and Block: Learn the timing of the boss's attacks. Dodging or blocking can help you avoid significant damage and create openings for counterattacks.
Limit Breaks: Save your Limit Breaks for critical moments, especially when the boss is staggered or in a vulnerable state. This can turn the tide of battle.
Status Effects: Use status effects (like Slow or Poison) to gain an advantage. Some bosses may be susceptible to these effects, giving you extra time to deal damage.
Healing Items: Keep a stock of healing items and potions. Use them wisely to maintain your party's health, especially during tough phases of the fight.
Recommendation: For specific bosses, consider researching their individual strategies online or watching gameplay videos for visual guidance. This can provide insights into effective tactics and help you adapt your strategy in real-time. Always remember to adjust your approach based on the boss's behavior and your party's composition.
