TL;DR Disneyland offers a wide range of gluten-free options, from snacks to full meals. Popular choices include Dole Whip, turkey legs, and the gluten-free Monte Cristo sandwich at Cafe Orleans (requires advance order).
Dining Options
Disneyland is known for being accommodating to dietary restrictions, including gluten sensitivities. Many restaurants offer gluten-free alternatives, such as gluten-free buns at Carnation Cafe and gluten-free grilled cheese at Jolly Holiday [1:1]. The Cafe Orleans offers a gluten-free Monte Cristo if ordered 24-48 hours in advance
[1:1],
[3:4],
[4:5]. Additionally, Pizza Planet provides gluten-free pizza options
[1:9].
Snacks and Treats
For those looking for gluten-free snacks, there are several options available throughout the park. Dole Whip, popcorn, turkey legs, and Mickey bars are naturally gluten-free [1:1],
[5:1]. Other treats include churro toffee, which is popular among gluten-free visitors
[3:8]. The holiday macarons and fudge are also gluten-free but may have cross-contamination risks due to shared kitchen spaces
[5:1].
Allergy Accommodations
Disneyland takes food allergies seriously and has procedures in place to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions. It's recommended to mention your gluten sensitivity to cast members when ordering food [1:4],
[4:2]. For sit-down dining, chefs often come out to discuss gluten-free options and ensure meals are prepared separately to avoid cross-contamination
[2:2],
[4:3].
Planning Ahead
To make the most of your visit, it's advisable to plan ahead by checking menus online or calling Disney's special diets team. This can help ensure that you have access to gluten-free options and avoid any potential issues during your trip [4:7],
[4:8]. Utilizing resources like Gluten Free and the Mouse on Instagram can also provide up-to-date information on gluten-free offerings
[4:4],
[4:6].
I’ll be heading to DL for the first time ever (been to WDW many times) this September, and I’m very excited for all of the snacks. I’ve heard they’re better at DL. Shh! However, I recently discovered I have a non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Are there any surprisingly gluten-friendly options I should be aware of? I think I’m most sad about missing out on the corn dogs, but I did hear about GF Mickey beignets!
I have a rather mild allergy to coconut and when I went to WDW in May, they really went above and beyond, at every meal we booked, they asked about it, they suggested things to get.
Disney really takes allergies and food preferences seriously. Just be upfront about it.
That’s almost what I’m afraid of. I’m still in the process of testing what I can eat, but so far I don’t think (for example) I have issues with things fried in the same fryer as other foods containing gluten. I’d hate to have them go through all of that trouble when I don’t have a true allergy.
Better to be a bit over-cautious than risk having your trip ruined due to a reaction. Shared equipment reactions are tricky because a different amount of allergen is spread to your food each time and you never know when too much has joined your food.
Theres no need to feel bad for the trouble because they handle allergies all-day every day. If anything, you are making it easier for the next generation of kids to have better access to allergen-free foods.
FYI...Disneyland GF and regular bread is not nut-free anywhere on property (due to it coming from off-site and shared facility)....as explained to me by their cook staff. Also, how allergies are handled is really hit and miss still and they often will bring out food you are allergic too (even after talking to a chef), so check again with the person bringing your pkate to the table and even then your food might not be safe because it is handled by a bunch of people rushing in the kitchen and not communicating well always. Honestly, it is really bad there right now at several restaurants although GF might be easier for them to handle vs other food allergies.
They would rather you be safe than risk an episode.
I have friends who are Gluten Free due to celiac's and they love how Disney takes their allergy seriously.
Gluten free Mickey waffles if you eat at plaza inn (or probably the other breakfast places that serve them) they seemed pretty accommodating and asked me if I wanted anything else to be gluten free when I went for breakfast! Although I only wanted waffles lol
Were they just as good as the original?
Uhhhhh sadly....no .... the flavor was kinda bland/meh but they were still cutely shaped lol
Just remember to mention your gf sensitivity to every cast member who is helping you out food wise. They have set procedures for how to handle, who to grab, and what your options are.
Carnation Cafe has GF buns and Walts chili is GF. Jolly Holiday can make the grilled cheese GF.
You can get a GF Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans but you need to call ahead and request it (24-48 hrs in advance).
2 of the sauces (Thai curry and teriyaki) at the Lucky Fortune cookery are GF. Veggies are not 100% GF b/c they are cooked on the same surface as the potstickers.
Most of the locations that serve pasta will have a GF alternative.
A lot of things are already GF- Dole Whip, Popcorn, Turkey legs, Mickey bars, pickles, pineapple spears.
It's worth the hassle of calling ahead and making the reservation for the GF Monte Cristo. My Sister is celiac, and she and I split one last week-delicious!
Pizza Planet has Gluten Free Pizza
Pizza is one of the things I miss the most!
I'm heading to Disney soon and made a list of all the dining options listed as gluten safe/sensitive on the menus. I did not include buffet restaurants, hotel restaurants, desserts, drinks, kids meal options, or snacky food sold at the stands. Feel free to share that information below if you have current info. Any place not listed did not have options. Some items are seasonal, so may be changed/unavailable in the future.
Gluten Free Disneyland + California Adventure 2025
ALWAYS INFORM STAFF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY WHEN YOU ORDER, and do your own research. Don't trust random people on the internet.
Honestly Disney is easy af to eat at. Just use mobile order, the places that serve GF have a section for it when ordering, and it’s all prepped separately by a chef. For sit down dining, either mark the allergy when reserving or tell the hostess if you’re a walk in or doing an in person reservation, and they have a chef come out to your table to go through the options and to answer any questions, and that food is also prepped in a separate area
I know you didn’t include desserts, but this list makes me want a dole whip. Wish I knew what buns they use for the hot dogs at refreshment corner. My daughter ate way too many.
If I’m not mistaken, they make their own, at least that’s what I was told a few years ago at Casey’s Corner at Disneyworld
Disneyland key holder here. Recently diagnosed with gluten intolerance (waiting for test to see if it’s celiac or NCGS), I’m super bummed to no longer be able to indulge in some of my Disneyland favourites. RIP Beignets, Churros, Monte Cristo’s and my all time favourite the garlic pretzel bread. 😭😭
I’d love to hear what gluten free options others enjoy. Maybe it will cheer me up because I’m so sad. Snacks are a huge part of the experience for me 😔
Disney really does make an effort, as I learned when I did a DVC member class at Aulani and the pastry chef not only showed us how to make Macarons, but a couple of Modifications if people had restrictions of any kind.
Not knowing what you like I opted to look for a Resource that might be useful this site has things spelled out pretty nicely and are Invested since their family deals with celiac. And they even take into consideration cross contamination risk.
Snacks are not abundant. Starting up Main St, the candy store has bagged toffee and peanut clusters. The Hot Dog on Refreshment Corner has a GF Bun and you can also add the chili to it if you want. Jolly Holiday has a cookie, Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup. Dole Whip.
You can get a gluten free monte cristo at Cafe Orleans, BUT you also have to order it like 72 or 48 hours before.
That’s awesome! That’s my favourite meal at Disneyland so I was super sad. Is there a special number to call or can you email?
I don't remember the actual process. I have several friends with gluten issues.
This is a pretty comprehensive list, including the directions to order the Monte Cristo. They are a reputable place to buy tickets as well. We tend yo buy Florida tickets from them.
https://www.undercovertourist.com/blog/gluten-free-disneyland/
Nomad Lounge in AK has GF churros
I hope they are better than the regular WDW churros! Those aren’t great. I’ll be at WDW in February so definitely will have to try. Thanks!
I have a GF friend who swears by the churro toffee! Satisfies that churro craving for her.
I’m going to Disneyland in a couple weeks and feeling nervous about getting glutened. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to eat and/or favorite treats.
Echoing what the others have already said, Disneyland is AMAZING at accommodating allergies. I’ve never gotten glutened once. My favorite quick-food options in Disneyland are definitely the jolly holiday combo and then the street taco trio at Rancho de zocalo. All sit down restaurants are also great at accommodating allergies…if you have a reservation at blue bayou or cafe orleans, and call in advance for this, you can get a gf monte Cristo if that’s your thing!
I was at Disney last year, and I had the street taco trio at the reccomendation of a cast member, so I second it.
Never got glutened at Disneyland or Disney World or Disney Cruise. They are trained, and there is at least one chef that will come out and tell you what options you can get gluten free.
Gluten Free and the Mouse on instagram keeps pretty up-to-date info for Disneyland (with reviews)! She does a good job noting when/why there’s risk of cross contamination vs. when there’s not, too.
Disneyland is SO GOOD for gf! Check out the gf Disney Facebook group and gfdf Walt Disney World (they have some disneyland menus). Remember to note on all of your bookings that you're gf. And always ask to talk to a chef everywhere you eat, you can often get stuff that's amazing and not even on the menu. They'll prepare special dishes just for you.
And go to Cafe Orleans or the Blue Bayou and get the gf Monte Cristo. You need to order it 24 hours in advance and it's so good.
You really have nothing to worry about, Disney handles special diets better than anywhere else I've ever been.
Comprehensive list. Also has a guide you can buy, but the one listed is good enough imo. My favorites are Turkey legs, popcorn as a snack, dole whip.
Been trusting Gluten Free and the Mouse for years now and she has never steered me wrong! You can follow her on Instagram and Facebook for more recent stuff.
Dole whip is so good.
I’m not going to Disney in the foreseeable future but I read the whole list
I’m especially intrigued about the prospect of a gf monte cristo! Have to order in advance, but I’d love to have one of those again!
Email or call special diets at least 5 days before, not 24 hours. We live close and I’ve never been able to get it when we decide to go last minute-only on pre planned visits.
I honestly don't know, but I'd both call and email to be safe. That way you're sure to get through to someone in special diets no matter what.
Specifically the non-restaurant options.
Yes. Specifically what are you asking about? Sweets? Snacks? Meals? There’s tons of options so you might think about narrowing down your question.
Specifically snacks at the carts that are scattered around the park. Thank you.
Popcorn, the fruit, the pickles from the stands. In the shops the rice krispy treats and marshmellow tails are always a treat. The holiday fudge is gluten free but is made in a kitchen where possible cross contamination can occur. Also the holiday Macarons both at Pizza Planet and at the Candy store too are yummy!
Thank you!
Hi!! I’m going to Disneyland for the first time with gluten sensitivity, and all I can remember is eating foods with gluten 🥲 Any good food places with GF food around both parks?? I haven’t noticed being sick with cross contamination, it’s mostly my stomach does not digest it 😅
We went a couple of years ago. I will say that because it's Disney, we felt super safe BUT compared to Disney World, the options were absolute sh*t.
Anything we could get wasn't really tasty but most times they just weren't willing to accommodate.
Very disappointed.
Weird. I've gone at least 1000 times (I average 50 trips a year, and have had an annual pass since 2004).
I find them to be very accommodating. Maybe not as much as WDW, but it's very easy for me to find gluten free food there.
Last week I went to the Magic Key Terrace and had an absolutely amazing puttenesca (they called it something different though). I had never even thought of trying to order it, because I had just assumed it couldn't be made gluten free, but it was amazing.
I'll probably be there again for dinner tonight.
Granted my favorite place to eat right now is probably either Centrico or Paseo (same restaurant, but Paseo is fancier Mexican while centrico is more tacos and stuff). They are in Downtown Disney. About 2/3 of their menu is gluten free by default.
I'm a Disney Adult who has averaged about 50 visits a year for the past 20 years.
Disney is FANTASTIC at taking celiac seriously. You will be well taken care of as long as you let the place you are eating know. Any sit down restaurant owned by Disney will accommodate you.
This fb group has all the answers! https://m.facebook.com/groups/448115108907206/?ref=share&mibextid=wwXIfr
Thank you!
So many GF options!! My son and I are both celiac so this list is only things that are verified GF, but I’m sure there’s more if you’re not as sensitive.
Disneyland GF food:
Disneyland:
Pizza planet
Café daisy
Galactic Grill
Hungry bear cafe

Thank you soo much!
So I’m going to Disney soon and I see that they have many restaurants at the park that have gluten free foods at the park but I was curious if anyone has tried it or thinks it may not be truly gluten free? I just want a second opinion(fyi I have a gluten sensitivity not celiac) thanks guys I really love this subreddit yall are so helpful:)
Myself and my celiac niece ate well in Disney. They are VERY good with allergies, everything is labeled, and you can ask to make sure. If the cast member doesn't know, they will find out. Sometimes it will take longer for things since they will have a cast member wash hands, reglove and prepare it in a different area.
Forgot to mention at the New Orleans resort they have GF Beignets!
Omg the gluten free beignets at Port Orleans are SO good. I got them all three days we stayed there cus where else can you get them? The line made me nervous but when I ordered they didn’t even think twice. They were soooooo good. 🥰
Omg by any chance do you know if they’re dairy free too?? I’ll be there in January and would love a beignet!!!!!!!
Not sure but I do know that the lady asked me if that was my only allergy so they may have gf/df version if it isn’t. It’s worth the google. The beignets are famous on Disney blogs so there’s a lot written about them- I’m sure someone will know if they are available gf/df.
I nearly cried the first time I got the gf churros!
Also, if you can, I would budget a pretty decent amount for Erin McKenna's bakery in Disney springs. It's a dedicated gluten-free vegan bakery, which means it's the first time I've ever been in a bakery and literally anything was an option as long as it was in my budget
Disney Parks/resorts and Disney Cruise Line is the only place I truly trust while being highly sensitive to gluten and dairy.
Even if you mobile order off the allergen menu, they will bring a chef or manager out to double check with you of your allergies. If you have any concerns before ordering, you can talk to any cashier (I was told by staff I could bypass the line to ask for the consult so you don't end up wasting your time in line to find out there's nothing you want or can eat, then get in the back of the line or mobile order. This is more of a thing with multiple allergies since you can't mobile order off multiple allergen menus) and they will call for a "consult" which brings the chef or manager out to discuss your options/concerns.
At most locations they have a dedicated cooking/prep area for allergy orders, but they have ingredient information at all locations (literally a binder with all the info). They will warn you if there are any cross contamination concerns.
Disney takes allergies seriously and it's refreshing.
1000% this. If you stay at any of the park resorts tell the buffet you need gluten-free. The chefs will prepare whatever you order from scratch in the kitchen to make sure there is no cross-contamination.
I was worried about it when I got there, but other than having to wait (which I didn’t in the least), they do an amazing job dealing with allergens.
I spoke with a chef in Epcot who was so serious he walked me through literally everything in the kitchen. Disney is amazing for celiacs.
So many great options! I had a GF lobster roll. It was heaven. At breakfast buffets, the chef comes out & walks with you through the whole line to tell you what's GF. And they brought GF waffles to my table without me even asking. :)
Disney takes celiac and food allergies very seriously.
Absolutely amazing food, never a single reaction.
If you go to Animal Kingdom, my absolute favorite is the Nomad Lounge. It's attached to Tiffin's. If you're looking for a splurge, Tiffin's is supposed to be amazing. But for slightly more reasonable prices in a more casual atmosphere, Nomad has a limited menu but it comes from the same kitchen.
Double check, but we were told anything on the menu there can be made gf. GF CHURROS! The chicken satay skewers were fantastic.
You may have to look for people who look about finished and just kind of stand near them, to get a table. The seating out on the covered deck is lovely. Feels like you're off in a quiet wilderness, far from anyone else.
I had the best food and no reactions the entire week I was there. If you ask your server if something is gluten free they will tell you everything.
Gluten free beignets. That’s all I have to say.
Hi! We will be going to Disney soon and both my son and daughter need to be on a GF diet. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good guide or list that has all places that sell GF food or snacks?
This was my experience at most dining locations when I go to Disneyworld.
Me: Hi, what are your GF options? Cast member: presses button for a chef to come talk to me about all the options
Or
Me: Hi, what are your GF options? Cast member: points at menu we can make pretty much everything GF.
Obviously, premade desserts and sandwiches are a different thing, but every location I've been to had multiple GF options or could make most things on the menu GF.
Had the same, or we don’t know and can’t guarantee anything
You are in for a great treat! WDW is one of the BEST places for GF dining. You will find GF labeled on all menus. Their staff are well trained and have staff who will review and explain all of the options. The seated restaurants often have the chef come out to review options. Be sure to leave an update when you get back. I think you’ll be really happy!
I was panicking about spending the week at Disney. Almost canceled our trip because what if my kids and I starved the entire time…
Now, I WISH I could just go to a Disney restaurant every time we ate out. I’ve never felt so safe and heard as I did there.
Someone mentioned that a chef comes out at the sit down restaurants. Even at the quick service restaurant at our hotel, a chef came out and they prepared in an allergy kitchen. We definitely had to wait longer but hey, you get fresh food vs what’s sitting out for who knows how long.
Download the app. Every restaurant has the allergy menu for that location listed. Nearly every single Disney-run location will have gluten free options, so there aren’t a ton of “lists” because there are so many options. That said, there are definitely fan favorites that get talked about a lot, like the churros at Nomad Lounge, so some searches on Facebook and Instagram might be worth it to you.
You don't even need the app, you can just do it from the website. I've spent more time on that website than I care to admit.
Completely agree! I do like the app because it gets you used to looking based on the park maps and mobile ordering, so that even if you’re not a super planner like some of us are, you can still find a lot of treats. I will admit that I get frustrated with people who are like “here now and can’t find anything to eat”, so I highly recommend the app so no one gets stuck in that situation.
Just be aware that they take cross contamination very seriously when preparing the food, so it often takes longer than the regular food to come out.
Not to be a downer but, unless things have changed in the past 2 years, they don't take it seriously. Someone died from food allergy cross contamination and Disney had the audacity to say that since the victims signed up for Disney+ they waived their rights to sue the company. Disney ultimately decided not to use the streaming service terms against the wrongful death lawsuit but the story still got out of course.

Hi everyone! In early March my boyfriend's family is taking me to Disney in Florida (!!!) I am a bit concerned though about eating out. I can't see anything on the menus of gluten free things, but I would assume at a place like Disney they would have the options at least. Any help/advice would be appreciated!! Thanks!
My mom works at one of the Disney parks as an inventory specialist for the food department. They have a lot of gluten free and vegan options. They are also very considerate amount of food allergies. For example, Food and Wine at Epcot they have a variety of gluten and vegan dishes so you don't feel leftout. Your probably can't see anything on the menu because their are numerous restaurants and food carts throughout the park that serve different food.
Disney world is much better than Disneyland for celiacs. I never felt deprived or frustrated at Disney world. We event went during the Mickey’s Christmas party and they had Gf cookies and other treats. Use their app to help find the gf food options. Sometimes you have to ask - like some (but not all) places can even make Mickey waffles on a dedicated waffle maker for you!
ahhh!! i told my boyfriend i wanted a mickey waffle lol i want the whole “disney experience” i never got to have when i went when i was a kid lol ill have to download the app! thanks for the comment!!
They’ve got gluten free Mickey waffles pretty much everywhere they have regular Mickey waffles. Also Mickey ice cream bars are gluten free and so is pineapple dole whip!
Disney world is one of the best places to go when you have food allergies/intolerances. A few of my family members and I all have extensive allergies and have never had a problem. Most in park restaurants will have an allergy friendly menu online. It’s at the bottom of the regular menu just keep scrolling. However, it isn’t always broken out just for gluten. They will breakout menu options and list who the item is safe for. Example: Allergy Friendly Chicken Tenders Safe for: Gluten/Wheat Allergy, Milk Allergy etc.
No worries, I just recently finished planning a trip and booking GF dining reservations so it was fresh on my mind. r/DisneyWorld can be really helpful as well if you search for posts regarding Gluten Free, that’s how I found a lot of suggestions for my 1st trip!
I’m not a Disney person, but after going to Disney World, with Celiac, I want to go there for every vacation! I felt so taken care of, and ate food I hadn’t had in years!
hahah i haven’t been to disney since i was a kid (waaay before my celiac situation began lol) thank you for the comment though! this made me excited to go have some food hahaha
There’s a restaurant at Disney Springs called Raglan Road that makes gluten-free fish and chips and onion rings. I literally want to plan a trip to Florida, just to eat there again!
The best vacation of my life when it came to dining (gluten, dairy, nut allergy) was Disney in florida about 5 years ago!!! At every restaurant you can ask to speak with a manager about your allergy and they will not only speak to you about options, but supervise the handling of your food. Never had any issues at any restaurant! Now universal studios… that review from me is much different :(
I think Universal has improved. Went recently and was able to speak with a chef at one of the harry potter places. They were very kind and accommodating. The food court chef at the Universal branded hotel was also great. I have a feeling their newest park will have more inclusive dining options.
You’ll have to scroll down past the drinks and whatnot to “Allergy Friendly!” They have so much stuff and 50’s Prime Time has GF FRIED CHICKEN!)
I am going to Disney World for the first time! Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Typhoon Lagoon. Unfortunately I have celiac disease so I need to be careful what I eat. It looks like Disney has a lot of available gluten free options. What are some of the must try’s and ones I shouldn’t leave without having?! Thank you
My wife is coeliac and my daughter has egg, nut, dairy and soya allergies. This can sometimes be difficult to navigate but Disney is unbelievable at looking after you.
Highlights for us were:
Make reference to your allergies in any booking that you do and I would recommend emailing special.diets@disneyworld.com 14 days ahead of your vist as they will ensure that any restaurant instead for you.
There are great GF Disney food bloggers out there who give detailed reviews of where to go!
Have the best time
If you haven’t seen it already, the account “glutenfreedisneyworld” on Instagram is a fantastic resource!
The churros at Nomad's Lounge in Animal Kingdom are gluten free. They seem to be super popular - the most popular churros in DW.
If you want a sweet treat, go to Nomad Lounge at AK. Only gluten free churros on property and they are good!
Three Bridges at Coronado also has gluten free churros!!
I second the Nomad lounge churro suggestions but also the starbucks at AK has gluten free mini doughnuts that are pretty good! Flame tree bbq was a hit for us too!
If you’re at Epcot during a festival then check the app for the allergy menu for the festival booths because there is so much!
MK is kinda whatever for food even without being celiac but special mention to skipper canteen and pecos bill for being a little different from the usual burgers/tenders.
Hollywood I would recommend the grilled cheese from woodys lunchbox, also I believe some of the totcho bowls are gf. You can get a gf version of the ronto wrap too!
Honestly you will be amazed and maybe even overwhelmed at the options you have. They do such a good job of making you feel safe. If you have time then head to the French Quarter for those beignets! Hope you have a great time!
The vegan totchos are GF!
