When it comes to choosing the best e-bike for someone who is 6'8" and interested in a specialized model, there are several factors to consider. Based on discussions from tall riders and their experiences, here are some key takeaways and recommendations:
Frame Size and Fit
For very tall individuals, finding an off-the-shelf bike that fits comfortably can be challenging. Many standard bike shops do not stock frames larger than 61 cm, which may not be sufficient for someone who is 6'8". As one commenter noted, even a 62 cm frame felt too big for them at 6'4", suggesting that taller individuals might need custom solutions [2:1],
[2:3].
Custom Bikes and Larger Frames
For those at the taller end of the spectrum, custom bikes or brands that specialize in larger sizes may be the best option. For example, DirtySixer provides bikes specifically designed for people ranging from 5'9" to 7'5", although they can be quite expensive [2:7]. Another brand mentioned was Canyon, which offers XL and XXL sizes that cater to taller riders
[2:5], though some users have noted issues with stack height for those with longer legs
[2:4].
Modifying Existing Models
For those who prefer specific models like the Radrunner series but are concerned about fit due to their height, modifications such as adding a longer seat post or a new stem might help make the ride more comfortable [1:1],
[2:9]. However, this approach has its limitations, as some bikes might still feel too small regardless of adjustments
[1:5].
Recommendations for Tall Riders
Several e-bikes were recommended by tall riders in the discussions. The RadRover 6+ was mentioned as a good fit for someone who is 6'6" [1:2]. The Trek Domane AL 3 disc was considered by a 6'10" rider, but other users suggested that it might not be suitable without a proper bike fit
[2:3]. Specialized's Creo in XXL and XL Turbo Vados were also recommended for tall riders, with the Creo being suitable for heights up to 6'9"
[5:6]. Additionally, the Frey HT1000 with 29” wheels and an XL frame was a choice made by a 6'8" rider
[5:2].
Considerations for E-Bike Selection
When selecting an e-bike, especially for tall riders, it's crucial to ensure the bike is comfortable and fits well. This often means trying out different models and possibly working with a bike shop to find the right fit or considering custom options if necessary. It's also important to consider your budget, as taller-specific bikes can be more expensive, but investing in a bike that feels right is often worth the cost [2:7].
I’m going there soon and I wanna know in advance just in case.
On the website it says if you have food allergies you can bring in two sandwich bags worth of food and a snack. I did that at the Illinois park and no one said anything.
The one in massachusetts is horrible and just has a blanket statement that everything served at the park is mostly contaminated with the top allergens. I pack a picnic lunch in the car, bring my cooler, and just go back to the lot to eat and then go back to the park. It's a welcome break from all the park chaos as well.
I have not been to that Six Flags, but I have had very poor luck with the ones I have been to. They are the least allergy/celiac friendly parks I've been to. I also had no luck calling ahead to get info from any of them. The best you can do is pack food and ask to read ingredient labels. My kids are huge roller coaster junkies so we have been to many amusement parks over the last few years and I have never starved, but I have eaten some pretty sad options.
Thank you, for sharing your own experiences. What I’ve done in the past at other places where I wasn’t sure if there was gluten free options, I tend to eat a good meal before I go and get food after I leave. I mostly just drink soda and water thought the day instead of worrying about food. I think my cousin said they have nachos there and popcorn and at least that better than nothing.
I went last year and never saw any. I’d pack some food before you head there just in case.
I will definitely keep that in mind
Did you look on their website or try to reach out to them?
I plan on doing so, but I prefer to get people’s person experience first if that makes sense
We're heading to Six Flags New England next week. We have tried our hardest to find out if our daughter can eat anything here. She has Celiac Disease so we want to try and keep her as safe as possible. Six Flags support could not give us any lists and we have been unable to find much of anything online. If anyone has any experience with this I would greatly appreciate the help!
Thank you all!
Pack her a lunch!
Does anybody have any suggestions for things to eat at the park?
Your post made me curious, so I took a peek at the menus in the app. Really the only thing that stood out to me were GF pizzas at Oasis Pizza, but decided they don't look very appetizing when I googled it. Here's a bunch of reviews from ppl with celiac. It looks like bringing your own food is the most accommodating option
yep seems only the pizza in a bag is safest...but i appreciate the help! :)
Gf has celiac and we’ve had the pizza. It actually was kinda good
I work at Zagora Cafe and we have GF buns and plant based burgers or grilled chicken sandwiches (so you don’t have to worry about the pesky gluten ruining your day) If you ask for them at restaurants they’ll give you an allergen binder and it’ll show the menu and all of the major allergens!
I like the grilled chicken salads there with a fruit cup.
great! since you work there, would you say they’re pretty good with the cross contamination?
sorry! just seeing this now. we’re legally required to change our gloves each time someone with an allergy comes in so that allergen doesn’t come into contact with the guests food
Having worked there I can tell you the chefs are really really careful with cross-contamination and at least with that, you should not be worried. I couldn't tell you the best food recommendation unfortunately but, bring your allergy up to any food vendor, they should call their manager and they'll bring a food allergen book over with food you can eat. :)
The Zambia Smokehouse has all BBQ options so you could get a plate of ribs, brisket or chicken with a salad, veg, FF or BBQ beans. That would probably be your best bet for a decent and very filling meal.
I know people have already said this but my sister had celiac disease and she loves the bag pizza! It’s really cheesy. She also likes the smokehouse brisket. Other than that there’s not really great options at the park, so I would eat a big breakfast before hand and eat dinner at home.
Hello everyone! Finally going to check out epic universe and I’m traveling with people who are gluten free. What are some of the best snacks or eateries in park to stop and eat at?
Assuming they let us in with our own snacks, we’ll be looking for other options as well.
Thanks!
My dad is gluten free and we ate at das steakhouse and he loved it, he had the bird on a stake and gluten free french fries, just make sure you order the "allergy" thing so the chef comes to speak to you so you can order :)
Contrary to the other universal parks, Epic has a million gluten free options
Epic app has an allergy option item on the mobile order menu, this sends over a manager to confirm your allergen restriction and makes sure you will be accommodated. I would still look up each restaurant to ensure they have menu items. My girlfriend has celiac and we ate at mead hall and had a great experience.
You can go onto Universal's website link here and explore the dining options in Epic. Epic does a good job of showing different dietary restriction info both online and in the park.

Not promoting this channel. Just know someone with Celiac disease and I sent them this video.
Super Nintendo World has gluten free burgers and drinks, Pizza Moon has GF Pizza Crust, Mead Hall & Oak and Star Tavern have GF Barbecue, and Das Stakehouse has some great GF options as well.
Just found out I'm gluten intolerant this week 😅 RIP all the snacks and food I wanted to try for my upcoming trip.
It's been a wild change for me, and I still really want to try some stuff on my trip! I know Universal has gluten free items, but I know not all GF items are worth the price overall, so I'm assuming some are definitely not worth the price at the parks 😅😅
I'm going to Studios, IoA and Epic, along with HHN each night. I'm definitely more of a grab a nice filling snack or quick meal type of person at amusement parks. I don't really like eating at sit down places in parks unless I have to. I would like to get a snack or two during the daytime and same at night.
What's worth it that's gluten free but also fun looking? I'm not really picky beyond that. Or should I just bring a lot of my own foods? Are there options to make certain things gluten free (like with GF buns)?
Would also love to get a fun drink each day as well. I know not many would have gluten in them but you never know lol recommend me some fun drink options!
Baked potato (jacket potato) at Potter was a hit with my gluten free fam.
Oh yummy! Is that at Studios? Or which Potter area?
Three broomsticks in IOA and a cart in London outside of Diagon.
GF pizza at Pizza Moon in Epic Carnitas tots from Green Eggs and Ham at IoA Tacos from Bumblebee mans taco truck at Studios
Turkey leg is also a good snack. You seriously can't go wrong with a turkey leg. Butterbeer is GF
These are my go-tos in the parks. Most places you can get gluten free buns and they're not terrible.
I also love the GF options at Surfside. The chefs there are seriously the best.
Good to know! I'm glad there's some nice options!
We are headed to the Universal Parks and Sea World. My daughter has an intolerance to gluten and it completely binds her up.
Does anyone know of good things in the park that she can have? We will be going to the new Epic Universe too.
Cedar point has a full GF list of meals, but I can't find anything for the Universal Parks.
I can’t personally speak much for the Universal Parks because it’s been a while since I’ve eaten there but there should be plenty of gluten free options, here’s a blog post that details gluten free food there:
If you end up staying at cabana bay beach, they can make gluten free chicken nuggets for you that taste exactly like normal chicken nuggets, I almost shed a tear.
Epic Universe has plenty of gluten free options. Toadstool Cafe has gluten free buns, Spit Fyre Grill (LOVE Hiccups salmon bowl), Café L’air de la Sirene has options too. Just make sure to let them know when you’re ordering or mark it on the mobile app, someone will come out to you and discuss your options and modifications. I had a great time eating there.
Now SeaWorld…it sucked for me. Sharks Underwater Grill is listed as the only Allergen Friendly Location but the prices were too high for me. There were plenty of pop up food stands with foods that you would think would be gluten free but weren’t. I ended up having to leave because there was absolutely nothing of substance to eat.
Hopefully this was helpful, enjoy your trip!
Thank you! That's helpful to know! We were talking about Toadstool cafe. 🙂
Check out Gluten Free Universal on Instagram! Gina has posted a ton of recent great finds, including a baguette sandwich that looks amazing, and pasta alla vodka and pizza at pizza moon!
The Find Me Gluten Free app does a decent job of letting you know your options and you can use the Univerals or SeaWorld apps to double check menus.
At Universal, we’ve had good luck with places having Udi’s GF buns so burgers are an option - Captain America’s Diner for example. Plus they have a dedicated fryer for fries. We’ve also done the Harry Potter restaurants - roast chicken and potatoes. Out in City Walk, we always do Cowfish - they have GF soy sauce and plenty of GF sushi options. Universal takes it seriously and we’ve always had positive experiences.
SeaWorld has fewer options - we usually do the Smokehouse but it’s basically just the meats and a side salad. We usually bring lots of snacks with us when we go because the staff doesn’t always seem to care.
Thank you! We will definitely try to pack some snacks then. I was going to do a Walmart order to be delivered to the hotel, so I'm hoping they have some good options in the Orlando Walmart.
My husband and I had cowfish last year and we're thinking maybe One Love might be good too as she loves rice dishes.
That reminds me - my GF kiddos loves rice too and likes the rice & beans at Antojito’s on City Walk. The chips are in a dedicated fryer too so that’s always a plus!
Epic universe was GREAT when I visited. Download the app ahead of time since that’s where you’ll be ordering most of your food. I 100% recommend the restaurant in the Harry Potter land!
Awesome, ty!
No problem! There’s a fb group called universally gluten free where people post their reviews. I found it really helpful before I went!
I was kind of struggling to find good gluten and dairy free options…but the Astropub burger at Meteor Astropub was awesome!
To make it gluten free and dairy free, just sub for gluten free bun and ask for no cheese. Also, the fries are in a dedicated frier!
I wasn’t expecting much so I took a picture of it halfway through; I apologize for the lame visual accompaniment hehe.
Please comment your gluten free/dairy free favs for the park! I’m looking for other stuff to try. Thank you!!
The gluten free buns are fantastic! Really surprised by how good they were. I really wish they had more information about gf options on the app/website.
I would like to know as well what places I can eat that are gluten free. The app doesn’t give to much information
There’s an allergy guide circulating- you can email Universal and they will send you an allergy guide, but this is the gluten-free parts from the epic universe section. Always subject to change, not dedicated kitchens and all the usual disclaimers…
Also, if you talk to a chef there may be things that can be modified beyond this, but this is definitely a great starting place
1/3
Almost zero, I do know there’s a GF crust for Pizza Moon but that info isn’t abundantly clear online.
Poulet à la Provençale is gluten sensitive
https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/dining/cafe-lair-de-la-sirene/menu.html
The goulash at Pinot Noir is decent. They replace the noodles for mashed potatoes to make it GF.
The GF pizza at Pizza Moon is good. They also have two types of pasta dishes they can do but I haven't tried those.
The big feast at Mead Hall is GF except for the fries. They do not have a dedicated fryer.
The GF fried rice at Blue Dragon is really good.
GF Pasta sounds delicious for Pizza Moon.
I did fish and chips but tore off the breading at Meteor.
The Salmon at the Mead Hall is delish, I just am not a horseradish person for the potato. But I get why they included it.
Does pizza moon have vegan cheese, do we know?
I had this same question; my official guess is no. The reason I say this is on the menu they have a “vegan” pizza…just crust with toppings and no cheese. I would think if they had vegan cheese they would probably put it on the pizza, but maybe they just don’t want to make it public. Not totally sure. I wish they answered this more clearly on the app :(
The feast was better with potatoes anyway
This is so helpful!! Thank you
Try the bowls at Isle Berk!
I'm trying to find more places to eat that offer actual gluten friendly options instead of just "well we took the bread off it so here's half a burger". I have gluten intolerance and not celiacs so minor cross contamination isn't as big a threat to me. I'm so sick of places saying they have gluten friendly options and you go and check and its just fries or a salad. Are there any good fast food places with actual gluten friendly options with like gluten free buns? I'm tired of having to order slabs of meat and putting them on my own buns at home or just get fries as my entire meal when on the road.
Firehouse subs has the best buns! Hat creek in Texas has GF fried stuff, including pickles. Chipotle bowl or salad. In N out Lettuce burger and fries. Jason’s deli has Gf bread, so does schlotzkys.
Every freaking time I go to Firehouse and ask for GF bread, they're out and I have to walk out and start all over.
Yeah firehouse near me uses schar bun, get it toasted or extra toasted. So good.
Culver's has gluten free buns. Papa Murphys has gluten free crust for pizza.
Culver's GF buns are sooo good!
Papa Murphy's gluten free crust leaves something to be desired, unfortunately. I've heard their cauliflower crust is better, but they don't have it in my area yet.
Zaxby’s traditional wings and fries are gluten free, ask for no toast/extra fries. Chik fil a grilled nuggets and fries are also a go to for me (plus a milkshake/sun joy: all flavors except cookies and cream are a go!) If you have a Your Pie nearby (not exactly fast food though) they have a pretty good gluten free crust and you can pick your toppings. These are my favorite orders.
edit: just wanted to mention all sauces at zaxbys except the sweet & sour and teriyaki are gf
Chick-fil-A also has GF buns for the grilled chicken sandwich! The buns come packaged separately (so you assemble the sandwich yourself) to prevent cross-contact
Pass. Toxic Burger in Pacific North West areas does a gluten free fried chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun. Their fryers are all dedicated gluten free. Their shakes are gluten free, even the pumpkin pie shake. And they’re as reasonably priced as In n Out. High quality ingredients, at a fair price, and gluten free. They don’t even massively advertise that their restaurant is gluten free, it just is, and it’s awesome. Add on top that their burgers and wings (bone in and boneless) are top notch too. Something like 16 different dipping sauces from ranch pesto to 5 levels of legit hot sauces, all GF. The Toxic burger is a Double Double Animal Style knock off that does it right, and again with a gluten free bun. Their double blue cheese and bacon burger is better then most sit down restaurants I’ve had them at. There’s 4 locations in my town and I hope they grow across the US. Gluten free fast food at its peak.
The shake of the month is an Apple Pie shake. GLUTEN FREE.
These buns are trash! Straight crumbles! I usually save my money can get it with extra, extra lettuce.
I understand from employees that Chik fil-a shakes are NOT gluten free because they use same mixer as cookies and cream.
They're usually pretty good about changing gloves and washing hands if you give them a heads up about allergies/celiac/intolerance. They're even supposed to swap out all the serving utensils, but sometimes you have to ask
Hey everyone,
My girlfriend and I are going to Epic this Saturday and she has celiac. Was wondering if anyone knows of some good gluten free options available. Thanks in advance.
I'm guessing any restaurant will have gluten-free options if you ask. But if it is a very serious zero tolerance I would also bring your own snacks or food in case you get hungry and need something safe to eat.
That is what we generally do. When we go to Disney they prepare it in a separate kitchen and have a team member walk us through what they did to ensure its safety. I appreciate the help!
Pizza Moon has a separate kitchen as well, we made sure to ask!! They also sent a team member to our table to go through the ingredients, it was great
Pizza Moon has a good gluten free pizza.
And pasta!!!!
Well I will need to try the pasta on my next visit!
Gluten Free TM here, :)
I recommend joining this Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/559915885979452/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT . They have a lot of resources for all the universal parks.
Also, oak and star tavern was my favorite :)
Awesome, thank you!
So we’re heading to Six Flags Magic Mountain in about a month and my kid has some special dietary needs. Not EpiPen worthy, but eating it causes a lot of pain. I looked all over their website for a list, tried google, and contact guest services where I was told that I could bring food for that person specifically when I asked for the lists.
Has anyone been able to find a list of the food served at each cart/restaurant there with the allergens listed?
You’d have to visit guest relations in person to see if they even have that info. That’s the biggest thing they lack. Any info on food. Supper annoying. If I were you, I’d bring in pre made food that you know is good. If they stop you for it, tell them it’s for dietary reasons and you’ll be set
Shoot. That sucks and is ridiculous. We had paid for a dining pass for him for the day so we may have to chance it. He’s always happy with burgers though, so that may be the fall back. Thank you for the quick response!
You might be able to talk to guest relations on a refund for that also, if he truly can’t eat anything. I will say, they upgraded their burger supplier and the burgers do taste good now. Johnny rockets is my go to, mainly for the sauce they use. I’m hoping guest relations has a list of food places with what food allergens are ok there, but I don’t have faith, unfortunately. Been going since I was a kid and it’s crazy how little info on food they give out
If you download the Six Flags app and choose Magic Mountain, you can tap the Dining link on the bottom. That will bring up a list of all of the food locations and you can view the menus. It does have nutritional info but you can at least see the options. It also shows which locations are part of the dining plan.
Where to eat gluten free at Six Flags
Key Considerations for Gluten-Free Dining at Six Flags:
Check the Park's Website: Before your visit, check Six Flags' official website for any gluten-free dining options or specific menus. Many parks provide information about dietary accommodations.
Guest Services: Upon arrival, visit Guest Services to inquire about gluten-free options. They can provide information on which restaurants can accommodate your dietary needs.
Dining Options:
Cross-Contamination: Always communicate your dietary restrictions clearly to the staff to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.
Mobile Apps: Consider downloading the Six Flags app, which may provide real-time information about dining options and menus.
Recommendation: If you're unsure about the options available, consider bringing your own gluten-free snacks or meals to ensure you have something safe to eat while enjoying the park. This can help you avoid any stress about finding suitable food.
