End Screen Codes
Each episode of Gravity Falls contains a hidden code in the end screen, which can be deciphered to reveal fun messages or hints related to the storyline [1:1]. These codes add an extra layer of mystery and engagement for fans who enjoy decoding them.
Rick and Morty Crossovers
Gravity Falls has several subtle crossovers with Rick and Morty. For instance, in one episode of Rick and Morty, Stan's mug, notebook, and pen spill out from a portal [2:3]. Additionally, there are references to characters like Stanford and Bill Cipher in Rick and Morty episodes
[2:5]
[4:5]. The creators of both shows have confirmed these Easter eggs as intentional nods between the series
[2:1].
Journal 3 and Other Books
Journal 3 is a treasure trove of additional lore and secrets from Gravity Falls. It includes detailed explanations about various symbols and backstories that aren't fully explored in the show [3:1]
[3:2]. The book also contains references to other media, such as the Plumbus from Rick and Morty
[4:1]
[4:6].
Bill Cipher Symbols
Bill Cipher, the show's enigmatic antagonist, is represented by various symbols throughout the series. His influence is seen in the design of the Mystery Shack, where windows and architectural elements contain his triangular shape [5:2]
[5:3]. These symbols serve as foreshadowing and are explained further in Journal 3
[5:4].
Additional Media and References
Aside from the main series, Gravity Falls expands through shorts like "Dipper’s Guide to the Unexplained" and "Mabel’s Guide to Life," which provide more context and humor [3:1]. There are also games and books that continue the adventures of Dipper and Mabel, offering fans more content to explore beyond the television series
[3:1].
Been watching gravity falls and found this code and I dechiphered it. Nothing important but fun. " Next up: 'footbot two grunkle's grevenge"
He had the best story
There was even a robot for the kids!
Footbot: I love you Stan
Every single episode has and end screen code. And some of them are a lot more important than a fun throwaway joke.
Just finished it. Wow what a ride. Time to start my rewatch and look for all the stuff I missed the first time!
It was actually confirmed by both creators that Rick and Morty is actually the official season 3 of Gravity Falls
Yeah, nah, I take that as a little tongue-in-cheek joke between them.
Any idea as to why netflix covers this up in the show?
The scene where it shows all the ricks aren't in the gravity falls episode. This video is comprised of two separate clips from the respective shows. It's just a nice easter egg that they put in rick and morty.
No i mean if you watch this easter egg on netflix they completely cover it up. You dont get to see the portal where Stan's mug, notebook and pen spill out.
The episode with the marriage counseling has Bill on one of the monitors briefly
And in "Morty's Mind Blowers," there are two memories labeled "Stanford" and "Bill C."
Also the location they’re running around in at the start of the episode looks extremely similar to a location mentioned in Journal 3. It also has a statue of Bill in the episode.
We need that crossover in Season 4 of Rick and Morty, hell the reason I got into Rick and Morty was that I saw a theory on this and watched Rick and Morty
Have you seen the new trailer of Rick and morty s4? Bc it has Stanford in it
Nice
thank you for not doing the typical, "i don't know if anyone has pointed it out yet."
Just watched all of gravity falls and the lost stories comic and wanted to see if there was any extra stuff I missed in the series or secrets that to around.
Ik someone already said the journal 3 but I just wanna say the journal 3 is SO worth the read you find out so much canon stuff about the show. I love it
Watch the directors commentary on the episodes. Absolute gold.
There's a physical journal 3 and the book of bill in 3 days
I'll have to read them then
if ur in the US you can get the barnes and noble exclusive edition of the book of bill with 16 extra pages
One of us.. one of us.. one of us..
Welcome to the fandom! Here’s a list of all the things I think are worth checking out aside from the two seasons and Lost Legends:
Thank you so much. I'll have to get reading
The creators of both shows were friends and left hidden Easter eggs in both shows referencing the other. There’s a Gravity Falls call back hidden in a R&M ep :)
It's the mug and clipboard that randomly fall through a portal Rick opens as a decoy in season 1
And in another episode Bill was visible on a screen
I was playing a random game I picked up on Steam called "Supraland Six Inches Under" and i did a double take because in one area a bunch of bedrooms had a plumbus in it.
Well everyone has a plumbs, so I’m not surprised ford does too
I'm pretty sure that Alex Hirsch also voices someone in Rick and Morty Toby Matthews I think
Blendin Blenjamin Blandin
They cut the fleeb.
And rub the shleem
There are several hizzards in the way
Ms pac-man as well
The whole shack is a bill cipher Easter egg
Their bedroom window and the "A" in the mystery shack sign is too, they're everywhere now that I know to look for them. This is only my second watch through.
Alot of the windows are like that. Ford made the shack that way when he thought Bill was his friend, because Bill can see our world thru those symbols. It's talked about in journal 3. Funny extra bit, the shack was built by Wendy's dad.
Bill is everywhere. When this used to be Ford’s house he made these everywhere because Bill can see through them.
Why is there disembodied hands in the background
Foreshadowing
e p i c almost makes me wish I celebrated easter
Damn, Eye see that this is BILL-iant.
OOOH YESSS
Hey, I like that one!
Was speaking to Elouisa when one of the answers was a living triangle with an eye pops up and first thing that comes to mind was the character of Bill Cypher from Disney Gravity Falls. Could this be an Easter egg or maybe something else? Another reference could be the all seeing eye of the illuminati.
Me too! I’m always on the lookout for those yellow cat eyes he seems so fond of
I should tell y’all about the time I went to the Underground and found that it was packed with Gravity Falls fans…
Do you want the story? Upvoting doesn’t really tell me much. I’m not a telepath
Eeeeeek! I immediately thought of Bill Cipher as well!
Glad I'm not the only one lol
That can't NOT be a Bill Cipher reference
I thought of Bill as well! As well as Perry the platypus!
Very well known. In every episode up to The Time Traveller’s Pig.
Two things number he's in ep1? Number 2ill make sure to keep an eye out
You’re new to Gravity Falls, Aren’t you?
Yep, behind bushes when the twins are forced back to the shack.
Not every episode, just the first three (all of which are shown in the credits for TTP).
He also appears in Gideon Rises when the Gidoen bot fell and broke apart
There's nothing new about GF anymore, God I wish we could get a spin off or something
It’s well known, but I totally forgot about that
Well-known. But the beauty of this show is that we discover these easter eggs as we go! Happy hunting!
I love how >!ford!< failed phys ed
As an adult he is athletic as hell.
Hardback Journal 3 explains in detail. Dude likes routine, so he finds an outlet that helps with his studies.
Dude is jacked! I of all people would know
Love the "UNLIKELY" pointing specifically at Math.
what am I looking at?
The report card behind Stan to the left
Omfg... how did they get ahold of that
thx
