TL;DR Cuphead has two main endings: a "Good Ending" and a "Bad Ending."
Good vs. Bad Ending
Cuphead features two distinct endings based on the player's choices during the game. The "Good Ending" is achieved by defeating the Devil without surrendering to him, while the "Bad Ending" occurs if you choose to join the Devil [2:1]
[3]. Players often discuss the emotional impact of the Bad Ending, noting its unsettling nature
[3].
Completion Percentage
Players have reported varying completion percentages even after finishing the game. This discrepancy can stem from missing hidden coins or levels, such as the Mausoleum levels, which are necessary for full completion [2:2]
[2:4]. Some players have noted reaching over 100% completion by tackling expert mode or finding all secrets
[2:5]
[2:7].
Additional Content
The game's DLC, "The Delicious Last Course," adds new content but does not alter the number of endings [5]. It provides additional challenges and characters, enhancing replayability without changing the fundamental ending structure
[5:2].
In summary, Cuphead offers two primary endings, with the possibility of achieving higher completion percentages through thorough exploration and expert mode challenges.
I cannot be more with the finale we got (cuphead show season 3) and honestly this the end of the loved game cuphead honestly we got the dlc we all the secrets many people have beaten all the cuphead challenges the show has ended no major is announced...is sad to believe but this the end
you cannot be more wat?
More happy sorry for the mistake
i watched it all
Well let’s wait and see if anything happens
It’s still not the end of cuphead, we’re also getting collectors edition Mdhr also confirmed that they wold still make more games with the 1930 stile so there will probably be some references of cuphead in their next game
So I finally finished cuphead, yay, but why does it say I’m 96% done with it?
There is a hidden coin in each isle (including inkwell hell) you might've missed those.
You may have missed some things, like a run and gun level or a secret of some kind. Did you get both endings in one save file?
Yea I got bad and good ending, I missed no run n guns
Hmm, not sure what you could’ve missed. I’ll have to update you later.
Missing one of the Mausoleum levels perhaps? One in each world.
I finished everything, I don’t know why it does this but I did a little bit of expert mode and I’m on 196% now
106*
I did a solid 200% ohh what you don’t believe me ok ok but really i did
some glith MAYBE
Today I discovered that one of Cuphead's Achviements is the one where you have to do the Bad Ending, I've never done it before because I don't know about you, but I HATE the Bad Ending of Cuphead, not because it's bad, but because it makes me anxious, afraid and sad at the same time and the good thing is that when I went back to the Chalice menu it was gone and the music was on backwards, luckily I made it go back to normal, I don't know if you're of the same opinion
ℍ𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕒
Oh yeah when you get the bad ending put the Konami code in the menu so you get funny music
I bought this game in 2018 and have played it on and off for over 7 years now. More off than on 😅 but I finally beat it yesterday and it felt so good. I thought King Dice was easier than the devil, although I’ve seen most people think the opposite. Nonetheless, it’s completed ☑️
Only 10% completed on normal of all things? Holy shit
Was about to tell that, like whoa!

Ngl, I’m kinda disappointed they didn’t just turn it into a full sequel at this point but what they showed looked great as usual (yes animation takes a while but the original game took a similar amount of time to develop).
I thought that may have been the case as well. The DLC was originally planned for 2019, so releasing three years after that (and nearly five years after the original game) made me think there was more going on behind the scenes. It’s possible they could be working on an unannounced game at the same time as the Cuphead DLC, but there could be a myriad of other reasons for the long delay as well.
The good thing about this being DLC is that we’ll be able to use the new weapons and charms and Ms. Chalice on the old levels and bosses. That would make a replay of the base game more exciting.
Pretty shocked about this too. Was expecting it to take a route like hollow knight making the dlc a sequel.
Finally! I know these games take time, but it’s been nearly 5 years by release for a single island? Oh well, I’ll enjoy it regardless
Cuphead is like entirely hand-drawn animation. Also they are working on a Cuphead tv show and probably another game.
My concern is that I’ll have to relearn how to get good at the game again. I got really frustrated with Celeste’s DLC because I kept getting my ass kicked despite previously finishing all the hardest levels the year prior.
That's just because Celeste's DLC was significantly harder than the C sides anyway
Yea Cuphead is really challenging but thats part of reason I love it to death.
4 and a half years after the base game launched. Absolutely INSANE that it took them this long, but my god does ot feel good to see some new bosses and animations.
What am I most excited for? The soundtrack baybeeeee
With Shovel Knight we saw DLC comparable to a second game. Considering these are probably the two most loyal and fulfilling Kickstarter games of all time (minus a few others) maybe we can expect that
edit: I was dummy wrong, it ain't a kickstarter. Still hope that happens tho
I can't tell but are you saying Cuphead is a Kickstarter game? Because it isn't
They probably figure that it takes most people 4 years to complete the game
Not just getting 200% and all the achievements. There is more to truly complete the game and I'm asking for a list. Here is what I have:
Coins would be included in the 200% requirement so that's redundant. What else am I missing?
I would say unlocking all the extra visual and audio settings, although I think that can accomplished by getting everything on your current list.
S ranking all bosses should’ve been an achievement. The current ones are too easy imo
These aren't required, but are fun to get, try getting S rank records on the list, and S ranking them as fast as possible. Also, if you want to, try getting your death count to an obscene number for Quadratus.
Controversial I guess, but both ending don't make me sad. Only the one with literally dark tones and music, with dark themes and sadness does. As I think, it was designed to have.
The other one seems rather hopeful. You even see the family together, bonding at the end. I'm not sure why some people think it's dark and depressing.
Because the others are gone, and it's hard to count the ending with the body count as the "good" one. There's also the folks who blame Verso for everything that goes wrong in the story, who seem to think him going unpunished is horrible in its own right. I completely agree with you, though I do think it's still too bittersweet to really count as a "good" ending, even if it is the one where everyone could eventually get what they want, even the gommaged painting characters
Contraverso I guess, but the ending where Verso plays the piano makes me happy because he always wanted to play the piano and now he gets to do it.
He gets to do it as an unwilling slave who wishes he was dead.
True, my guts tell me Verso secretly yearns for the piano mines, and I’ll act accordingly
for those who skong after
For those who Sprong after
why do i have to suffer here too
Definitely the kind of game you enjoy so much that you want to reward it by buying the DLC.
I love watching my plat vid for this. I was so locked in at the end I was just jumping around the falling chip perfectly and I love reliving that moment. I have no idea how many hours it took to finally beat him but it was a lot. Congrats 🎉
The fun thing is that I did that parry on the video by accident and so glad I did because it would have taken me out. I was so locked in that I didn't even noticed the super was charged
Don’t say that, it is that hard, u are very good playing and that’s it, I also got it 2 years ago, my 2nd favorite after Dark Souls 1
I just thought it would be harder because of all the boogeyman stories around it. But by no means it's a walk in the park
It’s mostly kids especially with how cuphead looks.
I’ve always wanted to go for it but always found it intimidating. How long did it take you?
Not OP but took me approx 20 hrs including dlc. If I were to redo this I think I could do it under 10 hrs as there is def some stuff to get used to at first but once you get a hang of the concept it's not too bad.
If you love a challenge go for it. It's not easy at all but once you get use to it, you'll get better amd better.
>Not as hard as the reputation it has.
Totally agree. I think it was the prefect level of difficulty for me.
I expected it to be way harder based on the stories i heard about it on release. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't some rage inducing impossible game either. Just a pleasant challenge
Exactly how I felt. Liked it so much that should be playing the DLC soon.
I think the dlc is a bit harder than base game, but nothing crazy. It was great

How many endings does cuphead have
Key Considerations about Cuphead Endings:
Main Game Endings: Cuphead features two primary endings based on player choices:
DLC Content: The "Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course" DLC introduces additional content, but it does not change the number of main endings. It adds new bosses and a new playable character, Ms. Chalice.
Replayability: The game encourages replaying levels and bosses to improve skills and achieve better scores, but the endings remain the same.
Takeaway: Cuphead has two main endings (good and bad) based on the player's final choice against the Devil. The game’s design promotes replayability, but the core endings do not change.
