Current Number of Seasons
As of now, "Miraculous Ladybug" has five completed seasons, each consisting of 26 episodes [4:1]. Additionally, there is one ongoing season, which suggests that the series is actively continuing beyond the fifth season
[4:1].
Future Plans for the Series
There have been discussions about the potential for more seasons. Some fans have speculated or expressed concerns about the series extending to as many as 14 seasons [5:5]. While this has not been officially confirmed, the creator Thomas Astruc has expressed a desire to continue the series for as long as possible, even jokingly mentioning going up to season 100
[5:2].
Specials and Movies
In addition to the main series, there are four one-hour specials set in various locations like New York, Shanghai, Paris, and London [4:1]. These specials fit into different points in the timeline relative to the seasons. Moreover, there is a separate movie titled "Ladybug and Cat Noir: The Movie," which exists outside the main show's continuity
[4:1].
Ensemble Cast Considerations
While the show primarily focuses on Marinette, recent seasons have started to explore other characters' perspectives, suggesting a shift towards an ensemble cast [2:2]. However, Marinette remains central to the storyline, indicating that the series still revolves around her character
[2:3].
Overall, "Miraculous Ladybug" continues to expand its universe with additional seasons, specials, and movies, providing ample content for fans to enjoy.

Idk exactly but I looked it up and it was the first time it aired. according to Wikipedia it aired in South Korea in September. It aired in France in October and in the US in December. Soo I think that’s why people say today!
Yeah but it isn’t September-
Wdym?
I'm guessing it is based on the fact that this season, we've been seeing things from the perspectives of the various Miraculers: Max, Alya, Sabrina, Zoé, Ivan, and Juleka for the released episodes alone.
The ending credits also changed: instead of a loop of Marinette and Adrien into Ladybug and Cat Noir, we get all the Miraculers at least once.
I'm just throwing it out there, though.
...I think you forgot to make your argument.
Anyway, no, it is not an ensemble cast. The series has one singular protagonist: Marinette. It's Marinette's world, everyone else just lives in it.
Ah, sorry.
OK, now that you added your argument, I can see your point. Marinette is still central in any conflict between the focus characters, though, even in episodes with another character being focused on. Daddycop being an excellent example of this: while Sabrina does get a lot of focus, and certainly more development than Marinette, Marinette is still at the forefront alongside Sabrina.
And that's the thing that really makes it not a true ensemble cast series: Marinette is always in that spotlight, even if she often shares it with someone else for an episode, while the other characters, even Adrien himself, are in that spotlight relatively seldom.
I do believe a series can have an ensemble cast even if one character is the main main character (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic being a good example), but I don't think Miraculous cuts it.
Eh it's getting better but it's still by and by Marinette's show. We had one really good episode that gave lots of focus to other characters, but lets not assume that's gonna be the standard. We also had Werepapas which was Marinette butting into Adrien's business and making him a prop in it as usual.
An ensemble show is something like Justice League where most episodes only have a couple of the characters and some don't even have the "leads" of Batman and Superman at all. I doubt there will ever be an episode of Miraculous that Marinette completely no shows.
The most recent episode was very good. Marinette was barely involved in Ivan's subplot giving him one quick pep talk after being ignorant for it for most of the episode (Compare to Daddycop where Sabrina got dragged into her usual Adrien insanity) and wasn't even present for Juleka's, but again that's one episode so far.
It more like a puzzle 🧩
You mean like it probably should've been? Perhaps
This is perfect! Thank you
Lol this is more of a joke but holy crap how many movies are Marinette and Alya gonna catch dude? I'm saying this as I've only watched through s2 so far but is there are more movies to watch or to miss or for Marinette to ask Adrien to? If there are more in the next seasons I'm gonna cry lmao
So you have the main show timeline with 5 finished seasons of 26 episodes, plus one season ongoing. 4 one hour specials: New York and Shangai, set before s4, Paris, set during s5 but best watched after it, and London, which is a bridge between seasons 5 and 6. In that one, they get together in season 5.
There is also the timeline from "Ladybug and Cat Noir:thr movie" which is separate from the show. In that one, they get together at the end of the movie.
Hope this helps.
gonna be excited when my Adrienette craving is cured by the movie but I'm gonna crash out when I rewatch the series
Gotta warn you, it's a musical. They sing a lot.
this helped me a lot, thank you!
I saw a slideshow showing a post from verified X/Twitter account I don't remember the name of. I rlly hope miraculous doesn't have that many seasons cause I feel like Thomas is just gonna keep ruining characters
It's not comfired. Its more like Thomas wants to go to season 14 if he can
He wants to go to season 100 if he can.
The voice actors won’t survive that long lmao neither will he
Somebody better get Clockwork from Ben 10 Omniverse this is going to be a long ride
Tbh I hope not I hope 8 but I don't mind reboot
It is not confirmed yet it the team hoping, but if things don't end, keep going well they will only get to 10.
Unpopular opinion, But i love it when my favourite shows runs for as long as possible. If i like the concept then i’ll want to see more of it. And i do love akumatizations!
It’s not really anything Thomas or eve Jeramy Zag can fully control. The show’s making bank and the company’s invested in it would prefer to not end in the immediate future.
We forget. This isn’t some independent animation thing Thomas is doing in his spare time. You got Zag and Disney alone who are enough but also many merchendisers and distributors who aren’t one to just let things end. We all know Queen Banana was basically satire of working with all of these parties in mind, right? They pretty much spelled it out.
I mean, even if Thomas decides to pursue other projects at some point (I can see Season 10 being when he decides to wrap his story up), Miraculous will still continue on as the rights remain with ZagToon.
It's not the fact that they are "Planning" 14 seasons. it's the fact that those 14 seasons will be 14 seasons of butterfly miraculous bad guys...cameos by secondary heroes...no character development....no identity reveal...and repeating the same villains 20 times. If they actually took steps and were like "Okay they know each other's identities and so now we are dealing with the fall out of that. Okay, we are having a new magical item be behind the villains so we can do something different etc it would be fine. But these 14 seasons will just be copy copy and past from previous season.
Do we know that for sure? I mean... half of the stuff in Seasons 4 and 5 was nothing I'd expect (in a good way). Hell, say what you will but Chloe's reverse redemption arc in Season 3 was basically saying that they were going off the beaten path in the future to come.
Frankly, I can easily see them toying with how they'll fill the blanks TimeTagger set up and keeping us guessing.
I wouldn't even mind if it they simply took the fight out of Paris for once.
Expanding upon the Chinese elements of the guardian order and actually having the heroes travel there for a few episodes would be massive for worldbuilding. Keeping the 'travel' to specials that come out every two years just ain't enough.
As a Brit, the London special was genuinely the biggest letdown possible. I just wanted to see some cool British backdrops while they fought someone man
It being insanely profitable doesn’t mean 10000 season, yk what other shows were “insane profitable” Gravity Falls, The Owl House, how many seasons did they get? 2 and 3
Gravity Falls was too stressful for Alex to handle and he chose to end it early. The Owl House was canceled.
Even so, they knew when the show had to end before they ran their course. They compromised, they made sure their shows ended on a high note.
Miraculous is just going to be the same thing again and again because the writers don't care. The past 2 seasons made that clearer to me than anything.
I don't mind 14 seasons per se, but that would require two things:
I wouldn't mind seeing The Miraculers as adults, using the information obtained by winning against Time-Tagger in the past to succeed against whoever holds the Butterfly Miraculous at that point (personally, I suspect Chloé). Even Pokémon has finally accepted that aging happens and maybe one year per season (or half a year per season) could be okay.
>wouldn't mind seeing The Miraculers as adults, using the information obtained by winning against Time-Tagger in the past to succeed against whoever holds the Butterfly Miraculous at that point
Astruc said that we won't see adult miraculers. But It's Astruc, he May change his mind mid process
The show being profitable as it is doesn't excuse dragging it to an absurd lenght.
If they want to keep the show going, that's their right, but they should be at least clever enough to keep the series going without harming the narrative. Like, maybe an time skip or finishing Adrienette's story and moving to another protagonist, maybe finally give Fei her own series, like most tokusatsus tend to do. After all, the franchise name de jure is "Miraculous" and not "Miraculous Ladybug" because they thought in expanding it beyond LB, but never had the chance to
Frankly, it feels less dragged out and more "going at its own pace" with the confidence that it will never be canceled. Something that, honestly, a lot of shows have been missing with how many animated series are two seasons at best these days. And not even 26 episode seasons anymore.
Personally, I'd like to see the characters age into High School and University buuuuuuut with us taking breaks from the Paris side of this world. Maybe have some season technically be spin-off of the United Heroez or Lady Dragon before returning us to France.
The way they seem to take forever just to get one out and the out of order story telling.
I'll be amazed it if makes another two seasons. These episodes are not cheap.
Good for them for taking their time. Hope they focus on quality and not rush production.
Personally, I think that’s a partial advantage of being episodic like Miraculous is. Though… was Climati-Queen pulled because of Trump and Caline Bustier being akumatized?
5 season, because that's how many are confirmed to come out.
the last one Unless They make another new Butterfly holder.
Timetagger Implies that Lila keeps the butterfly miraculous for a decade.
I don't see how this show will end without a timeskip or them just never defeating Lila??
Edit: Just realized context should be included. I'm jumping off from the Timetagger mention because I just rewatched that episode.
Yeah. Originally I thought season 6 would be the one with a time skip, but when it was confirmed that everyone would still be attending school, That was debunked.
With how long the show was stretched out I don’t think TA wants to end the show. At least anytime soon.
I think He wants to compete with SpongeBob and the Pokémon anime for how long He can stretch out a series.
Honestly, chrysalis is super strong, from what I've seen and honestly is a better villain than that 50 year old useless scumbag so it might take 3-5 seasons probably, my opinion
I feel like Lila only made it as far as she did is because the Supreme is helping her with that whole blue thing that happened with her?
Wait the supreme is helping her? Is it confirmed? I didn't watch season 6 yet
Considering how competent Lila is it will take a long time.
So basically a stalemate where no one wins with Ladybug beating her and Lila causing problems?
Hopefully, 2 (until S7) so they can move on to other villains that don't pertain to the butterfly miraculous and at least try to keep things fresh Season 8 onwards.
Realistically, 5 (until S10), and they'll probably screw over Nooroo somehow even in Season 11+.
I'm afraid the second part of your comment will be the right scenario...
This is probably a dumb question but how did you get the Ladynoir tag thing?
So I was browsing around the wiki and I found out that they now have 10 confirmed seasons...
They REALLY want to milk this show for all it's worth, huh? At least I hope they don't make it 10 seasons of chasing the Butterfly Miraculous and that the reveal doesn't happen at the very end...
I’m thrilled to find out they have a minimum of 10 seasons, up to 12 seasons planned. I and all my girls love this cartoon.
Yup but by the time season 10 comes out AI actors and actresses will be replace Christina Vee, Mela Lee, and all the other characters 😢
This is crazy I wish they stuck to the original 5 season plan
I hope they have a nooroo recovery arc. He looks like hes in rough shape
What the hell is even in this show as of Season 6 that's even worth 10 seasons!?
The art design is now shit and the characters are even more unrecognizable than they were in Awakening (look at what they did to Julerose....). We don't even have Tales of Miraculous to act as alternative filler. Just this high-tense poorly-written drama.
Try to watch all earlier seasons on Netflix. The rest is no other way than Disney.
Disney cut a lot of the episodes. I don't know why they did, but the worst was animaestro as example.
No, Season 5 is only available in certain countries, and Season 6 is premiering on Disney Channel.
They also said Season 5 would be up on Netflix this past Saturday, saying that "new seasons" would be coming out then, but alas it was (presumably) quietly indefinitely delayed
What if people send netflix request for season 5 and 6 on netflix
Ohhh thanks!!
You can watch it on the Disney website. It has commercials but it’s free.
This make me mad
Nope, but season 5 is included in Disney+
I have disney+hotstar but I can't seem to find miraculous on it...
I have regular Disney+ so I was able to find it, not sure about hotstar (This is the first time I've ever learnt about hotstar)
No, but I you're based in Britain they have it on BBC player right now for 9 months or smth.
no!! that was my first mistake. I started and finished the miraculous series on Netflix, and thought it ended out of nowhere… untill my friend told me I should’ve watched it on Disney + instead, because all the episodes are jumbled up on Netflix and they also discontinued a portion of the season.
