TL;DR
Weapon and Charm Recommendations
Several players recommend specific weapon loadouts for tackling Beppi the Clown. The use of the Charge and Lobber weapons is suggested for their effectiveness in the second and third phases [1:7], while the Roundabout is recommended for its ability to hit enemies from a distance
[5:1]. For charms, the Smoke Bomb is favored for its dodge capabilities
[2:3], and the Twin Heart charm is useful for providing extra health
[3:1].
Phase Strategies
Each phase of Beppi's fight requires different strategies. In the first phase, the Roundabout weapon can be used effectively to take out ducks while staying mobile [5:2]. The second phase involves dealing with dogs that move towards your weapon, making it crucial to focus on dodging
[5:1]. The third phase is considered challenging by many players, where understanding the horse patterns is key
[1:4]. Players suggest staying on platforms and using Lobber to manage this phase
[1:12].
General Tips
Learning Beppi’s attack patterns is essential. Observing his movements and adjusting your strategy accordingly can make the fight more manageable [2:1]. Some players find it helpful to avoid shooting unless it's completely safe, especially during the final phase
[1:8]. Watching gameplay videos or streams might also provide insights into effective strategies
[2:1].
Persistence and Practice
Many players emphasize the importance of persistence and practice. Beppi is often cited as one of the more challenging bosses in Isle 2, requiring multiple attempts to defeat [1:5],
[3:1]. It's important to keep trying different strategies until you find what works best for you
[2:2].
You can beat him in Simple Mode and you can still move on over to Isle 3. However, you need to defeat every boss in Regular mode to fight King Dice and the Devil
I had a harder time beating that fucking clown than Grim Matchstick. Don't ask me why.
Imo the clown was easy up to it's third phase, on that I died a few times but then I understood the horse patterns and it was easy. The final phase is the only pain in that fight.
Same. I almost beat Grim first try, but the damn clown took me probably 50 runs.
Me too. I am very close of beating the dragon almost each times and I started yesterday, but it tooked me a solid week to beat Beppi the clown...
I had so much trouble with him. Something that helped was don’t shoot unless it’s completely safe in his final form
In my opinion Cuphead is said to be more hard than it is , no doubt it was hard but I got through it easier than I was expecting
If you need help for him, I use Charge, Lobber, Super Art 1 (for last phase), and +2 HP charm (you can use +1 HP version if you don't have that)
It took me forever to beat grim matchstick then I got to the bee level and quit for a good two years. I hate that level so much. The soundtrack, the cop, the plane that forces you to shoot down. Sucks.
You don't. You can go to the next Isle if you beat all the bosses in the previous one in at least Simple
I remember making the huge mistake and using chaser for the third. Like seriously why are those balls considered enemies for the chaser to hit?
Use Lober for the second and third phase.
(update) Beat him
Just keep trying until you beat it. I never understand these posts, half of the game is finding your own methods and strategies
ikr
What I would do? Smoke screen, and chaser. Let the chaser attack, so you can just focus on dodging with smoke screen with needed. Also pea shot for its special.
Spreader!
Shoot em
Been a while since I did it. I believe I used the boomerang projectiles for most of it. (helps with the ducks at the start)
I would say watch a couple people play it, try their strategies, and adjust your loadout as needed.
Many bosses become a tad easier if you are able to figure out their patterns.
Basically, observe, then try again.
I see everyone complain about how hard grim is but out of all the bosses on isle 2 he was the one I beat the quickest. I love grimes fight sm. If I’m completely honest I struggled more on isle 2 than three.
Isle 2 was just a lot harder than isle 3 , I had to use a djimmi wish on beppi and still wasted 2 hours on him
how 😭 I beat beppi easily and got an A- then I beat grim by just rapid firing and praying i got lucky with the fireballs
Agreed , I barely beat that dumb clown with 1 health after using djimmii wishes
i struggled for hours wally, more specificly the stupid kid, grimm is easy if you just buy the lobber
i think i used twin heart for beppi and same for grim, but i beat grim in like 16 tries and beppi took me longer
I’ve 300% Cuphead on expert for all levels, and yet this Monkey has always been the bane of my existence playing this game, he’s not even hard at all, it’s just his level drags on for so long and he moves around so weirdly it’s hard for me to tell whether some spots are safe or not lmao
Super easy but god his fight is unnecessarily long
And after defeating him, he took steroids and became gears the gorilla.
Don’t worry. The artist hated him too.
r/beatmetoit
please dont start the chain
i always avoid him , i usually pick
2: chips bettigan
6: fear lap
7: pirouletta
I have the weapons: peashooter, roundabout and chaser. I have the charms: smoke bomb and extra heart
for the clown, use roundabout, spread, and smoke dash and for the first phase go to the wall away from him and start jumping with roundabout to take out the ducks and beppi
As a beppi the clown expert not really
Use smoke bomb
Literally just use roundabout as your main and peashooter
First phase pretty straight forward shoot with roundabout dash through him blah blah blah
Phase two uhhh The dogs basically just come towards your weapon so 🤗
Phase 3 is a pain stay on the platform at all times an ez
I looooove that fight. The music and those different forms he takes. You'll be kicking his ass in one try soon
I love this fight too! He gives you so many things to parry, it's great.
It is pretty awesome! Carnival Kerfuffle is one of my favorite songs in the soundtrack lol
The dragon music is amazing too. I was never able to beat him. I had a friend beat it for me and I just feel dirty now. Be better than me sir. Also, you'll be hearing that dragon music alot.
He's rough, good luck on isle 3!
Nice. I just got to him a few days ago and I can't even beat him on simple yet!
The spread helped me a lot, especially in stage 2
Simple imo is harder than normal mode? In normal mode you can stand under the horse phase and just shoot up
I've heard that's one of the hardest lol
According to my research, it's THE HARDEST.

(Other candidates are Wally Warbles and Djimmi The Great on Expert, and KING. FRIGGING. DICE.)
Robot gave me some issues but not as much as I thought it would after reading the subs response. That fucking bird and genie fucked me up.
And now the dragon....
For those that want to know, i used the peashooter, the spread, the first super and for the charm i used the hearth ring. Against king dice for the start i went behind his hands for taking no damage. This fight was insane 🥲 (p.s. if you didn’t noticed yet i’m italian, so if my inglish isn’t much correct it’s because of it :p)
I used crackshot, spread and Ms. Chalice for him. Was pretty easy imo if you can parry the cards with Chalice’s dash parry.
But isn’t it more difficult to parry the cards with the dash?
I think the cards have their hit boxes extended a little bit more to their top so you can dash slightly on the high end and parry them with the dash. Chalice makes the mini bosses super easy and you can just spam spread EX on Dice’s face after that to stay on air if you can’t pull of the parries on the cards.
What is that achievement for
For no taking damage (because if you have more than 3 hp and you take damage, if you’re hp aren’t under 3 it counts like you don’t take damage)
This achievement is only for king dice btw
I spent equal hours into S ranking Cala Maria and many others. Congrats for all your hard work!
Now you gotta get s rank
Yeah in my dream😂
Maybe one day i’ll try it
My brother just got Cuphead yesterday in hopes of adding to our list of indie games we've played; little did the two of us know that this game was hard as balls. Bro, y'all make this look so fucking easy doing it without taking damage. HOW DOES ONE BEAT THIS DAMN GAME!!!
It is formally known as The Great Cuphead War in my house. 300 percent on all 3 saves. About 3 years ago. It is my greatest achievement to this day.
Why is it a war? Did it have any casualties? (smashed controllers do count)
Just git gud mate
Just kidding, the game is all about muscle memory, be cartain that these people that finish the game without taking damage, already died A LOT before being able to do this
I'll have to try several times before you remember "Now the boss will do this, now an enemy will appear here"
I'm currently s ranking the devil and king dice. P ranked and s ranked everyone else. I had a little under 500 deaths after a+ everything the first go round on normal (including the run n guns), and I did a ton of resetting. I'm sure I'm now over a thousand and I've still be resetting. It's also my first time playing lol
I won't even try to S rank everything, would like to, but my mental health is more important
So in other words…
Just git gud mate
>HOW DOES ONE BEAT THIS DAMN GAME!!!
Infinite amounts of trial and error, building skills more and more across a period of multiple hours a day, trying new strategies, retrying old strategies,
and a WHOLE lot of dying.
İn sekiro terms
Git gud
I think those are hollow knight terms...
imo the most satisfying part of the game is in your own skill progression. I’m stuck on the Devil in the base game, but I know I will beat him eventually - the fight is fair and it’s just a matter of fine-tuning my reflexes and responses, as it was for every other fight in the game.
I was looking at my boss fight scores and noticed that I got a B- for Goopy Le Grande and an A- for Dr. Kahl’s Robot, lol. The game truly does get easier with practice (and a lot of patience).
It can be really hard lmao, I got it without knowing how hard it was and didn't play for months, honestly it's really hard to beat bosses the first time but you do get the hang of it, the people making it look easy have just been through the rounds
At some point, you just become
Hey all. I'm new to this sub as I just bought Cuphead like a week and a half ago. I just wanted to say that I cannot stop playing it! I've already got all achievements except beating the game on expert, and I should be getting that one soon, too. I'm looking forward to discussing this amazing game with you all, and I'm already excited for the DLC!
P.S. Since I know it's a major thing on here, I would say my three most difficult bosses are The Devil, Rumor Honeybottoms, and Grim Matchstick.
Yeah. Rumor and Matchsticks are hard because the stage moves. You’re not just fighting the boss and dodging attacks, but also having to make sure you can land on a platform. And the Devil is supposed to be hard. He’s the final boss after all.
Rumor damn near drove me crazy trying to get the A rank. It's so hard to parry anything in that level so I had to switch to the automatic parry charm, which in turn made me get hit more because I was so used to playing with smoke bomb.
I think it took me longer than all of the other Isle 3 bosses combined.
My roommate and I were playing Rumor’s level. I was amazed when she managed to beat it herself. She went from dying first in almost every fight to beating Cala Maria and Rumor on her own. I have no idea how she did it.
I beat it on expert. It’s not uncommon to get stuck on 1 boss for 2-3hrs and then go to bed pissed off because you still didn’t beat the boss.
The hardest boss for me was cala maria
Really? I found Cala Maria pretty easy. The only bullshit part is going through the caves in the final phase and I honestly got kinda lucky with that.
At first I felt the devil was a bit easy... until I died in 10 seconds the first attempt lol
It took me so long to get past the third phase (with the bats and gorilla things). I think I died at least 50 times on that part before I beat him.
Yes chaser is damn near useless after the first phase. Lober kicks ass too specially on Rumor honey bottoms and Wally warbles! And charge shot is epic but I need to implement it more. Probably will now that I’m tackling expert.
So I was playing CUPHEAD in mobile and I was in isle 2 And bruh every boss in there is very hard. So I just want some tips
Been playing for awhile.
Early, my advice is to get Smokebomb (invincible dash) and the Roundabout weapon first.
Spend your first 4 coins on Roundabout. Do the first Run-n-Gun and then buy Smokebomb.
Those 2 items should be able to carry you through Isle 1 and quite a few other bosses.
Coffee is a good item for plane levels to be able to spam ex attack more frequently.
Have fun!
Roundabout and smokebomb is good advice. I've beaten the game with 0 deaths (not including the DLC) on expert using pretty much only roundabout.
Are you changing your weapons for each boss? My advice is to fight one boss at a time, get good at that and then keep going. Gotta keep practicing.
Ok
Cuphead was brutal for me until I started paying attention to the upgrade path and what weapons I was choosing. The right loadouts will make the toughest boss far more manageable.
Which layout is best for von bon bon?
I used chaser and spread for that one (spread just in case the gum ball machine comes out. Chaser is good for the rest of it)
What is cuphead in mobile?
Use an xbox controller. And a good mindset
🤔
