Djimmi the Great

Setup: coffee

• Swords: This is the attack I find easiest. They always go to the same locations on the screen. Since they only lock onto your position once, you can bait them towards a spot and then move away. Just be careful to not bump into any swords coming fresh out of the chest.
• Cats: This is the attack I find the most difficult. Just shrink to dodge and weave. There is much less of a pattern here, so you just have to watch carefully and move as necessary. Don’t risk your life to get a parry; the puppet stage is easier if you need to parry objects.
• Treasure: These are somewhat difficult. It’s a bullet hell, but it’s more random than Wally’s feathers or Dr. Kahl’s diamond shrapnel. Just shrink and dodge where you can. Don’t risk your life to get a parry; the puppet stage is easier if you need to parry objects.
• Columns: Bomb the face sections and dodge the razors. It’s easy to get through this stage.
• Sarcophagus: Use a super if you have it ready. Continue firing bullets at his face. Once you understand the timing of how he moves up and down, you can move in sync with his head to land as many shots as possible. You can use bombs if you want, but you have to watch out for ghost that may intercept your bombs. I find that this can be risky, since every bomb that hits a ghost is a bomb that doesn’t hit Djimmi, which means the fight will take longer. Save up your super for the next phase.
• Puppet: It’s much easier if you play this round normally instead of triggering the secret phase. Use bombs when the puppet appears. Before the puppet starts shooting (you’ll get a sense of the timing here once you play this boss a few times), use your super if possible. You’ll be invulnerable for a few seconds, so use this time to drop some more bombs and lure the turban toward the middle of the screen. Then switch to bullets and head back as far from the puppet as you can. This gives you more time to react to the puppet’s shots so you know whether to dodge or parry them, and more time for the turban’s bullets to spread out and you can dodge between them. It’s easy to get caught between the puppet’s shots and the turban’s bullets if the turban is in a bad location. Parry enough shots and use your super once it’s ready again.
• Final: Make sure you’re landing as many shots as you can on Djimmi. The pyramids will block most shots, but biter bullets can pass through, so use those as often as possible. Other than that, use bombs or bullets and fire around the pyramids. You can hover between pyramids and move out of the way when necessary, or just hover in the middle and fire your bullets. Keep an eye on the pyramids. Because the pyramids are close to the sides when they fire the four lasers, they split the screen so you only have about two safe quadrants. You can shrink to make sure you don’t touch the lasers. Once you get a sense of the timing, you can anticipate where the safe areas will be.

Trick him back into his lamp.

At the coffin phase you can just stay at the top and use the bombs without getting hit

When he shoots objects try to dodge them

Use extra hp as charm.

if you get the charms small plane and dodge mainly up and down go left or right if you need. The swords are asy just move when they start chasing you. For the cats move around in circles till they go away and for the big skull go up (ots eay to avoid).

By now if you've lost 1 heart restart the boss.

Ok for the stacks use the bombs and move up and down. If you see a blade down that means it's going up. Visa versa. Try to avoid tiny plane but if you have no choice do it.

For the mummy/sarcophagus/ alian phase you wanna stay at the top near him. Use you bombs and stay in place if you see a ghost keep on using the bombs you'll kill it and for the eyes move left to right (not in that order just don't go down)

For the puppet don't trigger the secret boss and beat it normally. Save your super for this and don't go tiny unless you absolutely have to(but it don't matter if you loose a heart you're almost done. Use the normal bullets and move around alot. Make sure to parry the pink slime things and when the hat coughs those pellets move left to right.

Okay almost done you should have your super meter filled from parrying the jelly things in last phase so use it immediately. When you see a eye opening a long beam will come out north south east and west. I don't have a tactic for this just make sure the side you go into has lots of space. And be carefully of the rings djimmi summons. Use your specials when you can and with some practice you will beat him.

-use heart ring (dlc) -save the super for the 4th phase -in the 3rd phase, go to the top of the screen, bomb djimmi and look out for the eyes -git gud -swords are i think the easiest in the 1st phase -destroy all breakable pillar-heads in the 2nd, you can do more damage so i think

Bruh it took me days to S rank Djimmi.

I almost threw my controllers against the wall.

You can skip cuppet phase and access a secret final phase by going into mini-plane while he’s transitioning into the phase. The only difference in the final phase is there is now a mini cuppet hanging in the middle that occasionally shoots a round of bullets in a circle. He’s not too bad though, and helped me beat that phase much easier

Bring Chalice for starters. For the first phase, the swords are the easiest ones to get because they can give you around three free parries. If you don’t get the swords, just try your best to dodge either the cats or the jewels while damaging him. During the second phase, destroy all his heads with Chalice’s bombs. He takes damage from all the heads being destroyed. During the third phase, just unload bombs onto him from above. During the 4th phase, be careful of the hat, and use your super on the puppet. For the last phase, keep an eye on the pyramids for when they’re about to fire and on Jimmy’s attack

Idk if you've beaten it yet but definitly equip coffee charm. For the first phase, jewles are the hardest and swords are probs easiest, cats are not too bad. For the jewlery, just dodge amd weve and dont be afraid to shrink, for swords I just shrink and go back or foward there really easy and for cats just dodge and weave too. For the second phase, look where the spinning blade is going and move depending on it nit the face pillars. Continue this till the next part. The sarcophagus stage you said you can get by but a trick I learned is when he shoots his floating eyeballs, hug the left of the screen in line with the eyeballs and each time the eyeballs will go over you and never hit you. Granted, it does take a bit longer to finish this way but for getting the level done it works. When the Pinnocio comes out, use your super. This stage is probs the hardest and you want all the damage you can hit him with. Again dont be afraid to go mini and dodge the projectiles. His last phase in my opinion is not the worst. Watch out for his ring beam and look at the pyramids eyes for the lasers. If you have coffee equipped you might be able to use your super on him. Keep practicing this and hopefully you'll beat him.

I struggled a lot for him in s rank. I did in on 2:06 without any additional heart so you really news to go fast with them.

I just did over and over again and I finally get a lucky run. I guess a restarted every minute within 2 hours.

IMHO, Djimmi is the most difficult boss in the game when you are trying to get S-Rank, period. In other circumstances or priorities, he's not.

Good guide, but I'd also like to point out that for the sarcophagus phase, you can literally just stay at the top of the screen and bomb him and slowly move forwards and backwards to dodge the ghosts. It's probably the easiest phase of the fight not counting the collums phase.

What Charm are you using? I recommend Coffee, since the time requirement was originally the hardest facet of S-Ranking him for me.

In terms of the puppet stage, remember that the third projectile will be parry-able. Try and bait the hat as close to the puppet as possible. This is the hardest stage in my opinion.

For the last stage, immediately go to the bottom right as close to the boss as possible without damaging yourself on him. Literally just hold your primary fire into him here. Then, when the hat-beam is shot at you, activate your super to tank the hit and damage the boss. Go back to holding down primary fire and that should beat him. If not, as the next beam is about to come, simply retreat to the center, dodge the purple line stuff, and fire off your EX mini-supers as you get them and the stage should end extremely fast.

if ur on PC it is REALLY HARD to get the extra hearts with djimmi. idk what it is but i tried so many times with my keyboard to no avail. tried with a controller — got it immediately. it’s kinda annoying but eeehh
