Okay here’s my strategy, I’m assuming you don’t have to divine relic, which is what I usually use, so I would recommend the heart parry charm for this. In phase one use the bombs to take out the head lamp, after that’s done focus on the bottom weapon and go for the centre last so you can get all those parrys to get your health up. Before the second phase ends (his heart pops out) make sure your super is fully charged, this is super useful because if you hit the head in the second phase with the super, the phase will be over very quickly. Now for the third phase, remember practice makes perfect, use mini plane when needed, parry as much as possible and when the bullets stop, hit him with as many supers as you can. While the bullets are going on, depending on your position on screen use either bullets or bombs to be efficient. It takes practice to get this down but you’ve got this!

The tip applicable to every boss: keep playing, learn the attacks, get good.

All I can tell u is save up your super for the head part and the end part and just switch between the bombs and the regular shooting.

I recently played through cuphead for the first time. I felt like I was ready to shoot lasers from my eyes, I was so locked in by the time I finally finished the encounter

I'd say do the order of the beginning in the order of what you find most annoying to least annoying, if what the other commented here suggested suits you then you can do that personally I did the middle one then the rockets at the bottom then then the laser because I felt the laser was easiest to avoid since it's so telegraphed.

Also for the first part, Go for the ray the bottom part then the chest

Here’s my 2 cents on what I do.

Use the alt attack. Bomb has splash damage which can hit his belly and chest simultaneously and those pesky planes and seeking bombs too.

Go straight for the head ray beam. Go down perry the chest thing all while firing to destroy the plans and damage the chest/belly. Immediately go back to the top of the screen so the ray gun fires up top.

Urgency priority:

1. Keep ray beam firing at the top of the screen. If it fires low, it takes up too much room and you’ll get into trouble.

2. Those chest beams. Parry them immediately after the head beam to clear them.

3. The planes/seeking bombs. If you keep the beam high and parry the second beam device, clearing/dodging these are much simpler.

With the bomb’s splash damage, it’s not hard to clear without getting touched.

After that stage 2 is easy. Prioritize dodging over inflicting damage. Take your time and use whichever attack suits you best.

Stage 3. Is more difficult. Again prioritize dodging vs inflicting damage. Use the secondary super as soon as you receive it (it passes through the walls). In addition to dodging the bullets try to move forward to clear the walls ASAP using mini-plane.

Just practice getting used to managing phase 1, and you’ll find it’s actually much easier than it originally appeared.

Charm: The Two Extra Hearts

Phase 1: Focus on the head laser first and then use the mini bombs to take out the two other sections of the robot. I didn't use my supers for this phase.

Phase 2: Focus on shooting the head when it's on the top of the screen. Stay away from the far left and right as the enemy bombs spawn there. Just circle in the middle of the screen to make the enemy bombs hit one another and avoid the head from hitting you.

Phase 3: This was the phase I used my max super on. I immediately used it and then moved as far back as possible. Just maneuver through the bullets and when the gates begin to spawn make your way forward, mini-plane if it's gonna be close. Just your supers whenever you can, they can phase through the walls.

It took me a few tries but that's how I beat him.

Focus his head first. As he finishes charging up his beam, move down and focus his stomach. Parry the pink beam-emitters he shoots from his chest as you do so.

When he is done shooting his head beam, move back up and focus his head again. It should break by now.

Next, focus his stomach while still parrying his pink beam-emitters. It should break pretty quickly. Now focus his chest and heart.

Once you finish off his heart, you should definitely have a max super ready to go. Use it shortly after his head begins zipping around back and forth. This phase should be over pretty quickly after that.

For his final phase, just hold the fire button and focus on dodging and parrying his shots. Use your max super whenever possible. Hit him with two of those, and he should be done for good.

Head first, then try to destroy the bottom two pieces simultaneously using mini bombs.

Do head then ass then chest

Do stomach,head,chest

this isn't necessarily the best strategy but you can prioritize the bottom first so those swarming things stop spawning, then the middle, then the top

try to make the big laser hit vertically towards the ground or horizontally at the top of the screen(though the latter will leave the antenna less open) and kill the skull bombs as soon as you get a quality opening

ALSO MAKE SURE TO GET THE BASIC PLANE BOMB WEAPON FROM THE GUY BETWEEN DJIMMI AND BON BON IN WORLD 2 if you didn't already, those bombs can damage the robot's middle and bottom at the same time if you aim it right and is helpful for phase 3 too

This is what I did. First attack the laser on the head. When its about to shoot fly down and attack the little ships and door at the bottom. Then hit the pink middle laser shooter. Then fly back to the top and finish the laser the head. then hit the pink middle again. then finish the bottom door with ships. from there stay towards the back and destroy the middle target while making sure it shoot the bombs coming from the bottom door.

2nd phase i just drove in counter clockwise circles around the edge and only attack the flying head when it was at the top.

Third phase. make sure you have a super saved at the start and hit him right away. after that its just some dodging and you won.

when your on the diamond stage, don't think about hitting the target. just keep shooting while dodging the bullets. when he stops for a bit start using your ex's.

In the first stage the robot has 3 parts to be destroyed. From top to bottom, let's call them 1, 2, 3. I like to beat it like this:

Blow up 3 first. Then go blow up 1 BUT whenever you see 3 releasing one of thos big guided bombs, imediately go down there to destroy it (this tip goes for the entirety of the 1st stage, never let those bombs go loose). After that destroy the middle. With the heart out, try to destroy it normally while ALWAYS keeping those big bombs in check. If you have 5 cards by this stage, don't use it on the heart. Save it for the flying head.

2nd stage: highly recommend saving a Super and using it here. For the rest, attack the head when it's flying on top, ignore it when it's flying on the bottom (you can have a go at it, but I think it usually leads me to mistakes), and keep destroying the big bombs whenever possible.

3rd stage there's not much secret to it. Use the little plane to dodge tight spaces and keep practicing. Eventually you'll get the hang of it.

As soon as the fight starts, fly to the top and focus-fire his head-satellite-dish-laser-thingy. You should be able to kill it before it fires a single shot. From there, parry the laser generator, then focus-fire the slot that spits them out, being careful to dodge the space invader guys from his abdomen and the projectiles from his head. Then, destroy the dock on the bottom, then his heart.

Save your five-card special, then as soon as his head flies off, switch to bombs. The homing bombs die in one hit from your bombs, so take them out fast and safely. Hit his spinning head with your five-card big-bomb special, then when he’s on the bottom hit him with two more bombs to take him out and move on to the third phase.

I have no advice for the third phase other than dodge and pray. It’s very long and quite difficult. I guess the best thing I can say is make liberal use of the shrink ability.

Use one of the 3 wishes!! Spin around in a circle and you get double hp till you beat it

Try going for the antenna and when hes targeting you go down to the chest damage a bit of the chest till he target you with the laser there go back up and destroy the antenna then go far left to the middle and destroy the chest go down and destroy his last part, next dodge the golden nails and shoot the heart but be more careful for the nukes like if you see a nuke leave the heart and destroy the bomb immediately then go to heart when there's no bomb and be sure to enter his second phase where his head is flying with the super meter full then stay right in front of him when his head goes of and nuke him and then his like 2 shots with the second fire option (little bombs) and in his third and final phase it depends on your items if you have the coffee you coud just Dodge and nuke him with the super from time to time or you could use the heart ring and parry his pink shots getting hp back. This helps me beat him every single time.

1. ⁠Go to the top of the screen and shoot the laser
2. ⁠Move to The bottom of the screen to take out the mini rockets before they start spreading everywhere
3. ⁠Repeat until until the laser is destroyed.
4. ⁠While dodging bolts from the Robot’s head, fire at the bottom until it’s destroyed.
5. ⁠Stay at the back middle and shoot the chest. If a rocket appears, move down and shoot it to blow it, then go back to shooting the middle.
6. ⁠Destroy the heart, don’t use your super if it’s available.
7. ⁠If the hands appear, stay at the bottom of the screen to avoid the beams of light. If the magnet appears let it pull you to the back of the screen and steady yourself as you shoot the heart and avoid the bolts.
8. ⁠Use your super in phase 2, it makes it end faster.
9. ⁠Dodge like hell in phase 3. Personally, it helps to focus on absolutely nothing but your plane.

What do you want us to do?

First phase: Destroy the antenna, then the chest, then the stomach. Make sure to get those parries in so you can use your Super on the heart to finish the first phase.

Second phase: Weave around the homing bombs, get hits in on the robot head when you can.

Third phase: As soon as this phase starts, use your Super or whatever EXs you’ve built up, cuz this one will make you want to end it all. Stay to the far left, weave up and down to dodge the gem shards, and try to parry some when you can to build up your meter. Keep in mind your standard shots will not go through the electric walls, but your EX shots will go through them. This last phase is basically an endurance test, try to have as much HP as possible for it.

Ms. Chalice or Heart Ring are recommended as your charm choice here.

I realized that the 3rd phase's diamonds attack in a pattern and the phase was significantly easier for me

Save the Nuke for the 2nd phase to phase him quicker to the 3rd phase.

Third phase is really the only hard part. Just focus on dodging, don't worry about aiming. Use meter between waves of bullets. Coffee is a good choice for this.

(In the first phase) I would recommend to go for the laser head first and parrying the chest barrel then destroying the bottom piece then going for the middle piece. Then hit his heart with the bomb. Use the second firing type ti finish him off. In the third phase shoot while dodging his attacks and parrying when necessary.

Tbh found him easier than some other boss fights but SO SATISFYING. It’s also the early AM so I should probably sleep soon but I’m so proud of myself for figuring out a strategy and then sticking to it and staying calm in his last phase. AAAAA
