TL;DR
Basic Concept of Gold Farms
Gold farms in Minecraft primarily rely on spawning zombie pigmen, which drop gold nuggets upon death. The most common method involves creating large nether portals that naturally spawn these mobs. The larger the portal, the more pigmen will spawn [4:1]
[4:4]. Once spawned, they can be funneled into a kill chamber where they are dispatched, often using mechanisms like trident killers to maximize loot collection
[5:2].
Tutorials and Resources
For those new to building gold farms, following a tutorial can be incredibly helpful. A recommended source is Silentwisperer's guide, which provides a step-by-step process to create an efficient farm [4:5]. Additionally, YouTube is a rich resource for finding various designs and methods, as suggested by several users
[2:2].
Combining Farms for Efficiency
Some players choose to integrate their gold farms with other types of farms, such as iron farms, to optimize space and resources. This setup can include a collection system where both iron golems and pigmen drop into the same area, allowing for simultaneous farming of different materials [5]. This approach not only saves time but also maximizes the utility of your farm infrastructure.
Additional Tips
By leveraging these strategies and resources, you can build an effective gold farm in Minecraft that suits your needs and play style.
Try this
I think i can try that
Good luck and have a nice day :D
Hi can someone please give a good link Or tutorial on how to make a gold farm. I have been trying to find one but wasn't successful the one I found was really huge. So is there any gold farms links you guys can share? Would help a lot
Just look it up on yt lmao
Also there is no small gold farm
Do you know any good ones?
Not off the top of my head, but yeah... Idk how you couldn't find "a good one"
Java or bedrock
Java
Basilcy huge netherack platform, in the middle a 2 wide hole in each side and it he middle of that, turtle eggs. Don’t forget trapdoors
I build this small one:

But I already added 2 other layers and will probably soon build another one. Not that it doesnt bring enough gold, I have way more than I will ever need, but just for the fun (also I have a magma cream farm anyway and already a double chest full of magma blocks + a shulker box full).
The only downside I had with this farm, was that my lower egg sometimes got destroyed. So I build this cage like shulkercrafts tutorial has it.
Not necessary the most efficient like ancient fruit wine but a way of getting gold that is not as popular that you enjoy. For example I grow pineapples and turn them into pineapple jam which nets me 230k ish gold per harvest (about 200 jars or something)
mushrooms 🍄
i have around 30 kegs and preserve jars that process wine and the fish roe in the background but I absolutely love gathering and dehydrating mushrooms. i have about 25 logs and playing forest farm with mushroom cave to get any random drops I can.
Going into the mines with my parrot. I love hanging in the mines, and getting money for killing every monster I see helps lol
this is so fun too. going on a bad luck day + high level parrot + and using monster musk gets me a lot of gold.
Wait wdym with your parrot lol
I keep about 10 dinosaurs in their own coop and make 16k some days with the eggs. I used to make dino mayonnaise but learned just selling the egg was more profitable. I also sell truffle oil and making all kinds of jam from the various trees in my greenhouse. I also like to visit ginger island often so after 3-4 days out there I return to a 100k+ harvest.
Truffle farm, with the 2x forage talent and Artisan. 1.4k gold per truffle oil, each pig gets me ~3 or 4 truffles per day, but I only got 6 Barns (72 pigs) so my farm only nets ~300k gold per day.
Obviously in the winter they don't find truffles at all, so I gotta budget for that, you know? Can't spend it all by Fall 28 if I wanna survive the winter!
Edit to add: I could sell the truffles straight with the iridium forage talent, but I have Artisan already (for eggs and cheese) so why not maximize? 😆
Edit 2: this was a long time ago, hadn't played since before 1.5 and only now getting back into it!
I did truffle oil for a while too but eventually found it tedious lol so I just sell the truffle as is
I might be crazy, but I stopped making the oil too.
I swear I had two iridium truffles 2 bottles of oil and the iridium truffles showed to sale for more.
Plus, idk, the crap you need for oil makers sucks. I just Like picking them up and selling them.
Confused is this not the second most popular way to make money?
Maybe it is, but I have yet to see people mention it. I mostly see folks talking about starfruit and ancient Fruit as their primary.
Do you grow enough grass/hay for them?
My favorite is selling quality ancient fruit. I love farming, and harvesting, and seeing number go up.
Close second is probably selling diamonds from my crystalaria
Right after throwing potion quickly switch to a sword with looting. You'll get way more stuff!
You should add carpets on top of hoppers to prevent xp orbs getting stuck. It still allows items to get sucked
But he did?
Oh yeah, I didn't see them at first
I always wondered how these farms work. Do portals just spawn pigmen?
yes, an as bigger the portal is, the more pigmen spawn
how did you make it?
tutorial please (maybe, your choice)
I followed a tutorial by silentwisperer, https://youtu.be/StoefpjrZCo
The portals together look like a server
There's been lots of gold and iron farm questions lately...or always. Figured I'd share something I made a while back. Its actually a ground level Iron farm. Super easy to make early on as you can use mostly all dirt.
It then has a double portal gold farm above it. The piglins drop into the same collection as the IG's. Lava and trident killer.
Village below, 40 I think. This was before I knew the best way was to trap them. I thought they had to access their beds lol.
Then full collection system basement level.
Gold Ingots and nugget's and auto-crafted into gold blocks
Swords(auto-smelted) - added back to nugget chest for auto-crafted gold blocks.
Iron Ingots auto-crafted into iron blocks
Rotten flesh - 1 chest saved and then any extra auto-fed into lava
Poppy's - Run through a composter and then stored as bone meal - Could be auto-crafted to bone block if nec.
String - could be auto-crafted to wool if needed.
Overflow chests to catch anything extra or missed.
Built a platform once to capture some mobs. Added lots of lightning rods and got all the mob-heads.
Bonus: Watching the IG's get mad and start launching piglins in the collection area
It was a work in progress and could certainly use a lot of upgrades. But it give you an idea of what you can do.
Will you build something similar?
Cool idea should like to see your kill chamber. Plus, more pic on how yur moving the zombie piglins
Standard trident killer in the center with water flowing to it. Then signs off 1 corner to hold up the lava. I can add some photos next week.
Please, I would love to try it with my mob and iron farm.
I don't know why, but I want to build farms like iron farms, gold farms, etc but it just seems intimidating
Just start, it’s Minecraft! There are so many great resources on how to and worst case you try again if you can’t get it the first time!
(Vote is ending in 500 minutes)
I used to find it all really intimidating, but I started with the simplest guide I could find... now I redesign them
Everything's intimidating until you try it, then you realize your mind made it out to be worse than it really is. Just start!
Have you done any kinds of farms or automation before? If you're at the very beginning I'd say try a small cactus farm.
Like I'm kind of intimidated by redstone (and on bedrock so it works a little differently/less reliably sometimes) so I started simple with a tutorial for the sugarcane/melon/pumpkin observer and piston farms then followed a tutorial for a small auto-sorter, then went rogue and figured out how to rig up a minecart collector at the end of a line that moves it over into a dispenser on the other side of the tracks to be used for the return trip. Now I think I'm stuck in the same place you are with wanting to make a fancy piston door but I haven't hyped myself up to it yet.
If mutual accountability works for you then I'm willing to have us each pick a project and set a deadline.
I've got raid farm, gold farm and an iron farm in my world. Which farm should I build next ?
Witch farm for easy gunpowder for rockets and redstone
That's a super easy farm, tons of drops, and can use leather for frames and sacks, with raw pork for emeralds. My cured gives an emerald for 1 or 2 raw.
Creeper farm. Need that gunpowder
I thought this too until I made my first ghast farm. Not only are they easier to build (no placing trapdoors for ages), they’re more productive and less dangerous.
Ghast farm?!
I need to look this up, I've been running a creeper farm all this time. Don't get me wrong, the creeper farm is amazing and basically infinite fireworks/tnt, but plus ghast tears would be better, given how hard they are to get.
Pre Entering Nether: Iron Farm, Cow Pen, Chicken Pen, Sheep Pen, Villager Crop Farm, Basic Hostile Mob Farm, Manual Sugarcane and Cactus Farms
Post Entering Nether: Hoglin Farm, Ghast Farm, Automatic Nether Wood Farm, Oozing Slime Farm, Infesting XP Farm
Post Dragon Fight: Gold Farm + Barting System (not worth it until late game), Enderman Farm, Raid Farm, Automatic Sugarcane, Bamboo Farm (into auto crafting system for mega smelter), Mooshroom Pen, Cobblestone Generator & Blast Chamber
True Endgame: Witch Farm, Fortress Farm, Trial Chamber Farm, Guardian Farm, Shulker Farm, Universal Tree Farm, Void Trading, Nether & Overworld Tunnel Bores, Auto Brewer, Universal Autocrafting, Mirror Recievers
I mainly just use a gold farm. Gold + rotten flesh to trade to clerics, plus good XP, plus gold for beacons
How do you make a gold farm?
Giant nether portal that uses a dispenser to constantly break and repair the portal, spawning lots of zombie pigmen. They fall down either to be one tapped by the player to killed by a trident pusher. Can make bigger portals or multiple portals to get a bigger output of pigmen
Oh 100%. Gold farm is the number 1 farm honestly. I don’t think you really need anything else more
If you do them on the nether roof with a high afk spot they’re almost unfairly efficient. Though I guess that is Java only suggestion
the only farm you truly need ☺️
I’m not sure if this is allowed to be posted here but I figured I’d give it a shot, as I do need help.
Could anyone link to any good gold farm builds that don’t require fire spread, or preferably not a ton of magma blocks? I haven’t played since 1.8, and a lot has changed. Every video I see on YouTube is using fire spread.
Please and thank you.

Make a couple iron golems and see who wins
I support this idea, hell just make an arena for the fun of it. Maybe add snow golems all around too
1 iron golem versus 30 billion pigman
Minecraft Mob Battles
All of these solutions are trying to find a way to kill them, just run 128 blocks away and they'll all despawn
That's not fun or challenging.
its my only option. in the images above thats only about 1/3 of the piglins. the game refuses to load anymore. They are there, they are just invisible and only visible when a few blocks away. Also, i cant even punch them because of lag.
It’s always more fun when stop running when your about to die
hit one and check your totem supply.
Become the Doom Slayer
Rain havoc!
Rip and tear until it’s done
What is the pc processor recommended for this so the pc will not lag while using this farm?
You can speed it up a lot by using two dispensers on each portal for the water
