TL;DR
Series Episode Order
The correct order to watch the Miraculous Ladybug series is generally by following the production codes rather than the Netflix or release order. This method ensures continuity and avoids confusion from episodes being aired out of sequence [1:4]
[2:3]. The Miraculous Wiki provides a reliable guide for this order
[2:2].
Movie and Special Placement
The placement of movies and specials within the series timeline can be tricky. The Christmas special should be watched after season 1 [3:4]. After completing seasons 2 and 3, viewers can watch the New York and Shanghai specials
[3:3]. The Paris special fits after season 5, although it doesn't have direct effects on the main storyline
[3:6]
[4:2]. The London special occurs after the season 5 finale
[4:3].
Chronological vs. Production Order
While some fans attempt to create a chronological order based on character development and plot references, it's generally advised to stick with the production order due to the show's episodic nature [2:4]. Some episodes are designed to introduce concepts before their origins are explained, which can make chronological viewing confusing
[2:9].
Non-Canon Considerations
It's important to note that "Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie" is not canon to the series. It features different storylines and character interpretations, so it can be watched independently at any time [3:3]
[5:8].
Additional Resources
For those seeking detailed explanations and reasoning behind various watch orders, resources like beacons.page/ladybugwatchorder provide comprehensive guides [2:1]. Additionally, YouTube videos such as Haze Clarke's timeline video offer visual guides up to the season 5 finale
[5:2].
I've watched all three seasons of miraculous ladybug on netflix, but i noticed that the order of the episodes was wrong. And I also heard that there's a movie, so I was wondering if someone could help me out?
I've thought long and hard about this, so here is the order I would recommend for the first two seasons. I'm more than willing to explain anything you might find weird!
Season 1:
25/26 (Special): Origins

Season 2:
Special: Santa Claws

Season 3 :
Special: New York
Special: Shanghai
I've also tried making a chronological order for Season 2 long ago. I would appreciate it if you correct my mistakes (if I have any) and explain them to me :D
Sorry I'm so late at replying.
That's an interesting list you have there. I would love to know why you placed some episodes where you did.
Since you said "chronological" I'm guessing you tried to make episodes fit with each other.
I'm guessing the reason you have "Befana" after "Queen Wasp" is because in Season 3 they reference it happening after. I guess that works with the show lore, but honestly I think it's really weird to have it so late. I put "Befana" as episode 5, after "Despair Bear."
I think "Sapotis" should be after "Dark Owl" because that episode ENDS with Marinette and Alya hanging out, which flows well into "Sapotis." Plus I think that Alya helping out Ladybug in "Dark Owl" really leads to Marinette trusting her in "Saptois." Plus I don't think Alya would be so excited helping out Ladybug in "Dark Owl" if she already became Rena Rouge.
"Frightengale" is a bit low on the list for me as well. I think it belongs with "Captain Hardrock" and "Troublemaker" since all 3 episodes deal with music.
You can read all my reasons for the season 2 order following this link: https://beacons.page/ladybugwatchorder
thankyou sm! when i'm going to rewatch it i'll def use this <3
Just posting here again, since this is the first thing that comes up on Google when searching for the Miraculous Ladybug Order:
Feel free to go to this link to find my order for Miraculous Ladybug AND reasons why I have come to this conclusion:

I'm more than willing to talk through my thought process, rather than just say, "Here is a list because I said so." I put a lot of thought and research into this order! :)
Feel free to email at: ladybugwatchorder@gmail.com to contact me immediately!
Here is the link to a great website with the correct order. You have to watch them by increasing production codes, 101, then 102, etc. This is the correct/intended order: https://miraculousladybugnews.com/episodes/
Okay, so fun fact. The air orders are wrong, the production orders are wrong, and all lists here are wrong.(I checked) The chronological order of the episodes is a long sought after dream for fans. The producers of the show insist that the episodes independent of each other, but this is not true, forcing the fans to figure it out for themselves. Trying to figure out what is the order of the episodes is a pastime for me.
I agree with you! I donate a lot of time thinking about the order for Miraculous Ladybug! Feel free to check out my orders I made for season 1 and 2 and let me know what you think!

(Emailing me thoughts is the best way to get a hold of me!)

Watch the New York Special and Shanghai Special after season 3!
HI
I decided to start watching this show and I got super confused watching through netflix, none of the characters were introduced and I was just expected to understand things.... Until I googled and found out there's actually multiple watch orders for this show. Here's my question:
Which watch order is best? I don't think I'll watch multiple times. I just need an order that makes sense. So which one? Chronical, Release order, Netflix order or the one I found on Quora?
PS: This is insane, even Kara No Kyoukai has less watch orders than this show apparently. This is a kids show, why is it this complicated?! Im following the quora one until I get a response. Thanks in advance!
well, here is the correct order, at least according to Miraculous Wiki
P.S. as I see, this is seconded by other links given in this thread
Use the wiki the production number is the intended viewing order
Thanks!
Def DON'T watch it in the netflix order lmao. That's a mess and the release order sometimes can get just as messy
It's literally impossible to watch it in chronological order because they're not written that way. Origins technically is the first thing that happens chronologically but is meant to be the season 1 finale. And there is a scene is a late season 3 episode that takes place at the same time as an early season 2 episode. So trying to watching the show chronologically will just fry your brain
Your best off with either the production code order or that link ladyburger gave you
Thanks!
I watched the show in Netflix order and it worked out perfectly fine. It's clear that the order I was watching the show in wasn't perfect but as long as you understand that it's easy to forgive the show and just enjoy it on it's own terms (the same way you would for any of the other contrivances in the show)
I've found this to be super helpful! It's a list of all the seasons and episodes and why they should be watched in a specific order 🙏
The Animan placing wouldn’t work because of Alya and Nino becoming a couple
That's explained in the doc. They say that getting Nino's crush on Marinette out of the way early is great and that having Nino and Alya be a couple makes more sense for earlier episodes.
I would still watch the origins episodes first though
I think needing to defend origins not being the first episode is funny. Like the writers actually did something very clever and well done by introducing concepts before having the origins episode so that the origins episode doesn't need to be 45 minutes of exposition. It's OBVIOUS that origins isn't the first episode, in fact that's one of the best things about the show.
Thanks so much. I think I'll just follow this one.
Im a new fan and im trying to know when should i watch the movies inbetween the seasons
we also have christmas special, shangai, new york, miraculous world (multiverse) and am i missing something?
Fair warning, release order is kinda finicky. There are some blatant continuity errors that way. It's not REALLY a problem, but it can be a little confusing when a character mentions something that hasn't actually happened yet.
As a casual viewer, it's not a problem I think. I didn't care enough for it to pull me out of my interest. But I've seen a few fans complain about it.
im using disney plus and the order from wht i remember is weird and messed up
i already discovered the realise date problem but usually they use the order from the main french channel which shows them by realise order and thts wht disney channel follows?
Christmas was pretty much the 27th episode of season 1.
Watch seasons 2 & 3, then New York, then Shanghai, then 4 & 5, then Paris ( the multiverse special as you called it )
There is also a feature film called "Ladybug and Cat Noir: the Movie" which you can watch at any time you like. It's a completely separate Story, done by a mostly different team of writers, animators, etc. So the Marinette from the movie isn't the same Marinette as the one in the show, etc. It's definitely worth a watch imo
Just watch in release order. Christmas after season 1, New York and Shanghai after 3, Paris after 5.
so after finishing each season, i watch the movies? gotcha
NOPE
SKIP CHRISTMAS
Why is christmas so hated? It's such a fun and cute episode. A little cheesy and goofy, but it's way above episodes like stormy weather 2, puppeteer 2 or derision
honestly i don't think order of the specials matter bc none of them have lasting effects on canon except the Paris special, which helps contextualize a decision of Marinette's in the finale that was dumb
ok but without giving me any spoilers, does the paris special have any direct affect on the storyline? it happens before or after the finale? ( if this is a spoiler nevermind )
Paris special does not have a direct effect on the main show. It also takes place I think right after S5E1 bc I think the crazy thing is the last two episodes of S4, the Paris special, and the first episode of S1 all take place within 24 hours of each other.
The Paris special takes place way before the S5 finale.
You can follow this order I put together. It may not be entirely accurate for the 1st few seasons but it’s pretty accurate overall.
Okay I need answers. I need the entire show, specials and movies whatever in order. Because I just attempted to watch the "miraculous world london" thing and have NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. WHY ARE THEY IN LONDON?? WHEN DID LADYBUG JUST FIND OUT GABRIEL WAS THE VILLAIN? WHY IS ADRIEN IN A BOX. WHAT IS HAPPENING?? okay. For reference. I have seen all of season 1-5 (don't remember 4 and 5 that much but remember enough) but I've also seen miraculous world new York, Shanghai, Paris, and attempted to watch London. what is going on. Someone please give me an exact order to watch miraculous to know what's going on in ORDER. I need a full list guys help.
Origins (1 and 2), Season 1, Season 2, Christmas special, Shanghai Movie, Season 3, New York Movie ,Season 4, Season 5 (episode 1-3), Miraculous World Paris, Season 5 (episodes 3-24), Miraculous Action, Season 5 finale, London movie.
Edit: formatting
Shanghai is during Season 3, and Action is between episodes 20 and 22 of Season 5.
Shanghai won’t be confusing to watch before season 3, there isn’t much of it mentioned. And action I put there as more of just watch before the finale.
Miraculous London is set after the season 5 finale
IS THE SEASON 5 FINALE NOT ON DISNEY PLUS???
wco.tv but you didn't hear it from me
Okay for reference the last thing I remember about the show is monarch having all the miraculous and crushing them and turning them into rings that he could transfer to the alliance rings and I THINK I remember some weird party Adrien was sent to where there were like no phones? I don't know I think maybe I'm crazy and like people had masks on. Did I dream that?? Marinette went undercover maybe. IM BEYOND CONFUSED
Yeah seems like you missed the end of season 5
Thank you so much for asking this! I was looking for this too. I only watched season 4 and 5
Wait wait wait.. you skipped the first three seasons???
Yeah, such a bizarre story. I discovered the series because it was on a TV channel, and I saw episode 3 of season 5. Monarch already had all the Miraculouses, and I wanted to know how it would end. After that, I had so many questions and started with season 4. Yesterday, I only just started season 1. I know, totally chaotic! I’m open to tips on what’s recommended to watch (or what to skip).
Well, I think you need to rewatch season 4 and 5, because the London special is right after season 5 finale
Ok so I’ve run into 3 or 4 different orders for the series. I’m trying to figure out which is actually correct. Is it the one on Disney +, or https://miraculousladybug.fandom.com/wiki/ Or somewhere else? Also Hulu is making me annoyed by saying Climatiqueen is episode 6 of Season 6 instead of Episode 1. But over all I’m a bit confused and want to make an accurate chart for what I’m working on. Please help!!!
theres a video by haze clarke on youtube of the miraculous timeline up until season 5 finale (and reverse special). Some dates were incorrect and are mentioned in the pinned comment
you can find the video here
Thank you.
Season 1 doesn't follow strict rules, except for some things:
So, basically, counting the production order and those notes, the order would be as on the picture.
Now, coming to season 2, there are less rules, or, should I say, less fluctuations from the production order.
Season 3 should be watched in the production order. After season 3 goes New York special. Shanghai's placement is disputeable, watch it after New York to be sure. Season 4 and 5 strictly follow the production order.
Season 6's order so far:
The movie isn’t canon
I’m not talking about the movie. Or are you saying the Miraculous World Movies aren’t canon?
According to Disney+ The Evillustrator is episode 7, but on wiki it’s #2.
The Wiki is correct. But also in Season 1 the order doesn’t matter apart from Volpina being the last one
Thanks.
Try IMDb, there you have a list of all episodes, now I don't remember if they are all in order (haven't watched this show from ep. 1 to 131 in a long time)
So, I currently have this lined up, but, I know I'm missing some specials, I'm looking for the CHRONOLOGICAL order. But I realised I'm missing the Christmas special, and, I'm not uo to date with miraculous anymore I think last season I watched fully was season 4. I need a little help finishing my list.
The chronological order for season 2-5 is the production order. Season 1 is kind of whatever because it was written in a short time and kind of a Proof of concept season. Can we please stop randomly rearranging episodes in 2-5?
Season 4's order is just the producton order I'm pretty sure, same as 5
Collector Santa Claws Prime Queen Sapotis Glaciator Riposte Gorizilla Troublemaker Gigantitan Robostus Dark Owl Syren Captain Hardrock Despair Bear Frightningale Zombizou Style Queen Queen Wasp Reverser Befana Anansi Malediktator Frozer Sandboy Catalyst Heroes Day Part 1 Mayura Heroes Day Part 2
Mr. Pigeon 72 has to be right after Gang of Secrets, Queen Banana has to be after Sole Crusher, and Gabriel Agreste and Qilin have to be before Dearest Family. I think for S4 it's entirely in production order.
Where did you get that S4 order from?
Wiki fandom I think, I had that list for a pretty long time
Im confused. But it looks right to me
hai guys i wanna get started on watching all of the animated movies in chronological order, ive watched most of the ones on hbo max but ive noticed that some seem completely out of order plot wise so if anyone has the order id love to have it ty :3
https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/dc-animated-movies-in-order/ i found this list on the internet
There are a ton of DC animated movies free on YouTube in case you didn’t know
Wonder what's the deal with that.
Not that I'm complaining mind you, just came out of nowhere.
Promoting the new dcu
If your talking about the dcamu, the watchtower database made a video after the release of apokolips war, and then for the tomorrowverse, my suggestion is (from memory)man of tomorrow, justice society world war 2, the long Halloween, beware my power, legion of superheroes, the justice league movie from 2023 that was trash, and then the crisis trilogy. There’s also dc showcases for kamandi, Constantine, and blue beetle all set in the tomorrowverse that are whenever you want pre-crisis. I don’t think I’m forgetting anything from those. assault on Arkham is in the Arkham games universe, crisis on two earths and doom are in a shared universe in that order, the dcau movies order is I think phantasm, subzero, mystery of the Batwoman, fatal five, and Batman x Harley Quinn. I think that’s the order but watchtower database has a bunch of videos to help you with that universe, Batman under the red hood and Batman death in the family are same universe, for the Batman unlimited movies its release order, and that’s the same for the Lego movies. and I think that’s all of them but I’m not sure.
I usually watch new episodes as soon as the English Dub premieres, but what it technically the best order for all the episodes?
These are the options I'm aware of:
I want to re-watch the show when the next set of episodes come out on Netflix, so I'm just wondering which order would make the most sense in terms of story and chronology.
Production code, with a few exceptions. Season 1's Evilustrator should come after Lady Wifi (because Lady Wifi hasn't been akumatised yet). Darkblade should come after Pixelator, because Jagged Stone is introduced in the latter. And Simon Says feels like it should come very near the end of the season, because Gabriel sees something you'd think he would follow up on fairly quickly. Season 2, Style Queen, Queen Wasp and Malediktator feel like they should run as a trilogy.
If you try to watch them in an actual in-show chronological order... hoo boy, good luck with that. Origins 1 & 2 take place at the start of the school term in September. Santa Claws obviously happens on Christmas Eve. Season 1's Dark Cupid is set on Valentine's Day in February - but in season 3's Feast, Alya says Ladybug first appeared "a few months ago". But then, this is a world where September has 31 days, according to the posters that appear in many episodes!
Thanks, I appreciate how specific your answer is. I also hadn't thought about the fact that the origin episode jumped to the beginning of the timeline, so chronology will never be perfect. Still, thanks again, this is really helpful.
Season 1 was written in a few months and just made to get the concept out there so they were just writing episodes to have them. Once season 1 became popular, then they started threading a story through because they had the time and the backing to be able to continue. So you can't really worry about season 1.
Production code for Season 3 specifically. The other two seasons... not sure but I know that production code is actually very weird for them. Personally I watched them in the order that miraculousladybug.to offers.
Umm season 2 is not weird at all using the production order. Season is whatever because that doesn't have any narrative threads running through it really.
Except for the fact that Malediktator's production code is 222 while Style Queen and Queen Wasp's are 218 and 219 respectively even though they're supposed to be a trilogy. So they should be coming right after the other. It's true that most of the episodes are episodic in season 2 but little hijinks like this make me inclined to be wary of the production code order. It's not the most massive deal for some people, but I personally just like to keep things somewhat consistent.
Production order.
Production code
Specifically for Season 1
I'm watching it on netflix if that matters.
EDIT: I'm proboly just going to watch it in this order. Any problems with that?
There's really no correct order. The order you linked in your OP is fine.
Alternatively, though... If you're interested in a more chronological order that uses background clues, character continuity, and plot continuity, there's also this order. I prefer it personally, though saving the Origins episodes for the end probably results in the most emotional payoff. :)
That one has too many flaws for me. They did a great job finding the little bits they did, but as I said...
Not saying people can't follow that order, just throwing a different perspective on it out there, since it is often the go to with this question.
What flaws are you talking about?
Correct Answer: there is none. Only a few episode specifics that must happen after other episodes.
You can follow the French release order or the American one though the American incorrectly puts the Origin episodes in the middle of Season 1.
In general, for the best viewer experience, I strongly recommend [this guide right here] (http://trishmishtree.tumblr.com/spoiler-free-ml-guide) It's not perfectly chronological within a solid timeline, but it shows the episodes in a way to best introduce the viewer to lore concepts, new characters, subtle changes; while maintaining the bits of the release order we can tell the creators wanted.
When were the origin episodes supposed to air?
The origin episodes were originally aired after the season 1 finale (Volpina).
It allows for added suspense/payoff of "why do these two like each other?" while also giving the creators more time to flesh out their lore plans/rules instead of starting with the origins. The American line up has them randomly as a 'mid-season' special being episodes 15 and 16, but they're supposed to be 25 and 26.
However, Season 2 Ep 1 is basically a Part 2 to the finale, the finale continues into the opener; so the origins could be watched just before the finale or just after the S2 opener. So while I still think Volpina-Origins-Collector is best, Origins-Volpina-Collector, or Volpina-Collector-Origins work as well.
It doesn't really matter as long as you keep the two Origins episodes right next to each other
Whatever you want it to be.
Since season 2 is up on Netflix, I plan on binge watching but would y'all recommend watching as is on Netflix or by production order?
Is it the full season 2? If it’s the full season (25 episodes) then DEFINITELY watch in production order. Certain episodes will not make sense otherwise. If it’s only the first half, the netflix won’t kill you but do know there is discontinuity. I always recommend production order if possible which is this: (https://mobile.twitter.com/Thomas_Astruc/status/1042309921725984768)
Yep the entire season I've been waiting for season 2 to release on netflix (US) . Thank you!
The most logical viewing order is the production order. There are a couple minor background stuff that still seems out of order, but that seems to be the logical path through the season. The wiki should have the production numbers in their episode guide.
OK thank you!
About the weirdest thing that Netflix did was put Troublemaker in between the clearly continuous Queens Battle, making it smell like filler
That’s strange, Troublemaker was before Style Queen for me.
Strangest thing mine did was put Malediktor before the Queen’s Battle when it pretty clearly comes afterward. It was, like, the fourth episode on the list.
WTF is Netflix even doing? you're in the US?
Neither.
