it really was a piss poor season. the wall challenge was idiotic and im tired of the outdoor team challenges where you know that gordon is going to throw at least one food item and yell "its fucking raw". and hyping the "iconic" masterchef trophy....

The telegraphing of the producers favorites this season is more egregious than Drag Race.

Hot take (?): Flanderization is not always a bad thing and Khan is a perfect example. Khan's obnoxiousness and condescending nature get ramped up to 11 as the show goes on, and I think most would agree that it’s hilarious

BUT the key is that he doesn't become any less dynamic a character. Hell, "Just Another Manic Khan-Day" is one of the deepest Khan episodes in the entire show and it's in the show's last season

It makes sense. When Khan first moved to the neighborhood he was trying to be on his best behavior. By Season 10 he decided to drop any facade he was putting on and decided to say and do whatever he felt like.

i think you could justify this not as Flanderization but as actual character development. he was always this obnoxious, ironically he just doesn’t let it out until he’s comfortable with people

its a white dude doing the voice, so I'm guessing they didn't want to go too "over the top" for the first couple episodes

As everybody becomes more comfortable with the character, he starts to become more expressive

Once you hit S10, I think the writers room is a whole diff speed

I have been saying for years that Season 1 has some of the best character writing of the seasons that's lost later on and it's things like this.

I understand what you mean, I think Seasons 2, 3 and 4 were better related to Lyoko, Digital, Network... I agree that the life outside of Lyoko showed was handled better in Season 1 but I think the urgency of what was happening related to XANA made things more complicated outside of Lyoko so it made sense to me that these moments were not as present, especially in Season 3 and 4.

But I more or less agree that their life outside of Lyoko should have been more showed and exploited.

I think it's because they had the time to BE kids because when the end of the season comes along, we notice Ulrich is starting to feel drained and sick of XANA, mentioning how there were five XANA attacks that week. It seemed that as XANA became more active, we saw leas and less moments of the warriors even having time to BE kids.

Part of that is also because Season 1 didn't have the show's plot planned out. Hence when there's not Hiroki throughout season 1.

Season 1 is still my favorite. Mainly for overall feel and writing. Even Lyoko with its lesser graphics and crappy motion captured animation has a charm that never got back once the technology upgraded (essentially because they redesigned all sectors to be more 'colorful/friendly/cartoony').
I don't think it's less than the others at all. It is unique for so many reasons, has its own flaws just like other seasons also have their own.
That's why CL is animated show I always come back to and give so much love to.

There's a date shown in Mr Pigeon, something like April 18th. Makes no sense but it's there. I believe it's also shown at some point that the Mime takes place in April or May. Again, nonsense, but it's somewhere on a poster. And there must be a lot more.

In Pixelator, Miss Bustier says their experience will count for the third semester, suggesting they're somewhere near the end of the second.

Reflekta should happen near the Origins and not like a month later since it's the class photo day. Same for Darkblade for the class representative's elections.

Style Queen takes place during fashion week; which is either somewhere in late June or late January.

La Befana would take place in late July-early August for Marinette to be a Leo. The most nonsensical thing about this show so far imo.

Dearest family should take place on January 6th for Epiphany.

Season 1 doesn't follow strict rules, except for some things:

• The Origins two-parter serves as the first two episodes.
• Lady Wifi and Stormy Weather go before The Evillustrator and Animan, but if you watch it, nothing horrible will happen.
• The Puppeteer goes after Lady Wifi, The Evillustrator, and Rogercop.
• First, watch "Pixelator", and only then can you watch Guitar Villain, Antibug, and Kung Food
• Animan goes before Reflekta
• Volpina is the last episode of the season.
• Gamer goes after Darkblade
