Introduction of New Characters
Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) marked a significant expansion with the introduction of numerous new characters. This phase included both movies and Disney+ series, allowing for a broader exploration of the Marvel universe. Characters such as She-Hulk and Kate Bishop were introduced, adding depth to the MCU's roster [2]. These introductions often came alongside existing characters, providing opportunities for dynamic storytelling and character development.
Legal and Production Constraints
The introduction of certain characters in Phase 4 was influenced by legal and production constraints. For example, the rights to some characters, like Doctor Doom, were only acquired after Disney's acquisition of Fox, which limited their earlier inclusion [2:1]. Similarly, distribution deals impacted when and how characters like She-Hulk could be introduced, as solo Hulk-related projects were restricted due to Universal's involvement
[2:1].
Character Development and Story Arcs
New characters in Phase 4 were often introduced with unique story arcs that tied into larger MCU narratives. For instance, the introduction of alternate universes and multiverse concepts allowed for creative storytelling, expanding the potential for character interactions and plotlines [2]. This approach provided fresh perspectives on established themes and set the stage for future developments in the MCU.
Fan Reactions and Expectations
The introduction of new characters in Phase 4 generated varied reactions from fans. Some expressed excitement about seeing beloved comic characters brought to life, while others debated the timing and execution of these introductions [2]. The balance between introducing new faces and maintaining continuity with existing characters was a recurring topic of discussion among fans.
Conclusion
Overall, Phase 4 of the MCU successfully expanded its universe by introducing a diverse array of new characters, despite facing legal and production challenges. These additions enriched the storytelling landscape and laid the groundwork for future phases, continuing to captivate audiences worldwide.
I still want the Big M8...
Gotta wait till GT23 and pray it comes in the Legend Cars as a classic for that one.
If/when LMU makes it to console, you'll be able to drive actual modern GT cars, and more, because it's a sim setup for the FIA World Endurance Challenge.
LMU is great on PC. iRacing is also fantastic and also PC only. If you really enjoy simracing, consider making the jump to PC. Don't get me wrong, I've loved Gran Turismo since I imported the JP version of the first game.
These types of cars and racing are just... not GT's focus. Look at the history of what the updates have been for ages. Many fans have been complaining about this for ages. Polyphony doesn't listen and doesn't care. It's why they keep releasing the updates they do, because they are showing us what they care about.
Bro forgot about project motor racing that’s coming out on consoles this November lol it’ll feature LM Hypercars and current gt3 cars..
So hype. TBF they've stayed pretty quiet, so I get that its not on the majority's mind.
I didn’t forget about it. So far very little info on it is available. It might have the cars but it also might suck.
I was speaking on titles like LMU and iRacing because they are available right now. They are tried and true sims I’ve actually driven, and they are both great.
Missing a lot of audi
PS6 is on the precipice of officially being announced (or is it official yet?) and I bet GT8 will be a launch title. I mean we haven’t seen a legit track release in years.
They’re usually on a seven year cycle and we aren’t even 5 years in on this one yet. They might announce it but we’re still two years off form launch.
Lol no GT6 was 4 years old.
Gran turismo 8 will feature a lot of the same car models as gt7.. just like a lot of the gt sport cars featured in gt7..
Gt8 ... Game is 3 years old now
It would have been amazing if we saw maybe baby Amadeus Cho, a cameo from doom, or something else.
Legally, they couldn't use Doom until the Fox buy-out (and even then, there were various projects mid-production), and with introducing She-Hulk, their options were limited due to a distribution deal with Universal. (They couldn't have solo Hulk movies, which presumably extended to his supporting cast)
how did the ice get inside the water bottle?????
I cut it open, placed the ice in ,then plastic welded it all back together. Duhhh. 😊
Some ppl shouldn’t do their own work on cars……..
Well if it's my first ever brake job and it takes me about 6h because i want to be extra careful as to not mess things up, i suddenly see old bolts that i forgot where they came from, then of course i'm going to ask questions. No one's perfect and i'd rather ask than be fucked. I already found out where the bolts came from, they're from the rear brakes. I replaced these so I'm tossing these old bolts out. No one came out of the womb perfectly knowing everything about working on cars you know.
You should have a system so you know where they came from trays and labels or something this kinda stuff can put you and other’s life’s in jeopardy
Spare parts are always good to have. Because next time you do repairs, you may be missing parts. now you don't have to buy parts.
Yeah but maybe not these missing parts, unless you never want to worry about parts again
Zooming in it looks like those bolts have had a wrench on them before. Without blue thread lock on them either…LOL. They also appear to be torque to yield bolts, which means they are one time use, and the reason your kit came with new ones. You need to torque them to a specific level.
Heihachi and AK should obviously always be base roster. There’s an argument for Eddy there too as THE casual fan favorite. My grandpa knows who Eddy Gordo is man. They’re iconic & super popular. Always felt like Lidia and Fahk were Tekken 8 characters so it’s odd they weren’t base roster. We should take out Leo, Alisa & Shaheen because they’re all wastes of a slot. Don’t put them back in as DLC either. Leo and Alisa are just wack as fuck & no one plays Shaheen. His gameplay is really good but they can’t seem to make him cool enough for people to try him. He’s a failure. Everyone else is unique enough to add something to the game just from their inclusion.
I'd advocate for Leo being gone, but they would need to bring back Wang, or Julia/Michelle to fill that 'Bajiquan' role, or pull a DoA and get Akira in this mf
Any of those 3 would be better to have in the roster than Leo. They honestly feel like they only keep being brought back so Julia / Michelle Chang get kicked out of base roster to be sold as DLC.
Lidia and Fahkumram should have been base roster.
Fahkumram and Lidia being DLC again after their debut makes absolutely no sense.
They trying to pull a netherealm move were characters are DLC twice
It’s not even a netherrealm thing at this point. All the big devs do it.
SF: Akuma and Ed were season 2 dlc in SFV and season 1 dlc is sf6.
GG: Baiken/Johnny/Dizzy are dlc in strive and were dlc in xrd
NRS and Tekken don’t even need examples lol.
Especially considering that Leroy was DLC in 7 but main character in 8. So why does one DLC get main character treatment while the rest dont?
Panda should not be a own character slot, and Eddy should've been in the base roster
Character slot really doesn’t matter. That’s just a minor code difference.
Bear players also asked for Panda and Kuma to have move list difference like Williams and Mishima clones for years so it finally happening is a dream come true. Though right now, moves being limited to heat is still not enough but with how much they polished bears move list, we take those W.
tbf this is probably the first tekken game where there is actually a difference between panda and kuma
Everyone who was in tekken 6 or 7 should have been base roster or dont include them at all. Yes even heihachi, they could have done the same thing with him as they did with Kazumi, she is dead in the story but playable. For the amount of extra money we paid in dlc and some even ultimate editions, items and fight passes in the tekken shop we get very little in return for that. So atleast make old characters base roster. + get this you have to pay for eddy and heihachi to lab them. These are legacy characters that existed from t1 and t3 but i have to pay in tekken 8 to lab them? Yeah thanks im good
Who do you think will win from among these super heroes?
It's an open fight and one super hero will remain standing at the end. Who would they be?
Did you see that clip where Dr. Strange fights Infinity Ultron?
You mean the alternate universe strange?
Still MCU
Yes, but we’re talking about the main incarnation of Doctor Strange, not his variant.
Captain Marvel flew through a dying star uninjured and put out enough energy to reignite it. None of these people have the firepower to harm her and none of them can survive the power she outputs. Strange and Scarlet are the only ones with a chance and that’s only if they can use magic to trick or banish her, which I feel is more of a draw than anything.
Glaze. Literally all these characters can beat her. BFR shouldn’t be a draw if one character is responsible for sending the other character away. Strange and Sentry via the void are the BFR characters here. Thor with Stormbreaker can cut into Captain Marvel not to mention put Mjolnir on her. Scarlet Witch basically has plot powers so she definitely destroy Captain Marvel.
Okay, but this is Sentry, not the Void. Even then, we haven’t seen him use his powers on any superhumans and Marvel has feats to resist mind control, as we saw when she broke out of the Supreme Intelligence’s control on her first movie. I don’t see a reason Stormbreaker could kill a character who could survive the gravitational pressure at the center of a star.
As for Strange, he isn’t even that reliable when it comes to banishing people. Loki was only banished by him because he stood still for ten seconds staring at the Sling Ring portal opening and Thanos was able to use the Space Stone’s powers (the same power Carol has) to destroy his Mirror Dimension portals.
Probably depends on which version of the characters we’re seeing.
If it’s the combatants at their absolute peak in the MCU then I’d guess either Scarlet Witch with the Darkhold or What If Dr Strange would be the winner.
If it’s standard combatants, I’m not really sure anyone here can deal with Strange’s magic besides Wanda.
Not sure how Darkhold Wanda beats What If Strange. He handled Infiniti Gem Ultron who was magnitudes more capable and stronger than Infiniti Gem Thanos
Those two are on a level so far above all of the others that it becomes hard to conceptualize.
IIRC, What If Strange swallowed an explosion from an Infinity Stone with no issue lol he’s absurd
Idk what if strange was defeated by peggy so...
Strange and how he'd react In the Void is a wildcard, assuming he can port himself out. Bob gets strangled or turned into a chair by Stephen. Wanda is too tormented to oneshot Bob and if shes sent to the Void I'd imagine she'd relive all her trauma and get stuck. Carol is the fastest and strongest here but with all the hax from Wanda/Stephen/Bob I dont imagine Thor and her get far without being sent to another dimension or vaporized.
Leaning Stephen if only because he may be able to escape Void with his magic.
EDIT: If we're using Composite/What if Versions, than MCU Strange vaporizes them all with a gesture
Can anyone compile a list of all the new mutant characters that have been introduced after the Krakoa era ended for those of us that have not been reading the latest X-comics? Can you include: codename, real name, power set, and maybe a trivia fact about them that’s noteworthy? I’m so overwhelmed with who is who that I don’t know where to start.
Everyone else have given the important ones (except Granny Smite), so here's Everyone Marvel Wiki Provided, organized by book:
X-Men
Uncanny X-Men
Exceptional X-Men
X-Factor
Various Solos
Doctor Daye, runs a hospital for superheros with his mutant power to diagnose, in Storm
Jaden, trans kid being experimented on by the government with nuclear powers who Storm saves
Moni Markowitz, killed to kick off the plot of Magik
Ren, possessed by demons, killed by Magik
Ismail Ayari - has a reptile form, challenged Emma Frost to a fight in her solo so you know how that went
Misc X-Books

This is really amazing! One thing I noticed is Ava from the Infinity Astonishing X-Men run doesn’t have an rock form, she can grow additional limbs/ body parts or even an additional body at will.
Super excited to see what Uva's abilities are!
Edit: Thought Benjamin Liu's powers were reality warping, but I prefer illusion casting over an overpowered reality warper any day!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!
Extremely nitpicky and I’m sorry for that, but: Marcus knows Chelsea is a mutant in Uncanny. What she keeps hidden from him is her chosen mutant name, and he doesn’t want Rogue to train her.
From Exceptional X-Men:
Bronze, aka Trista Marshall. She can turn her skin metal (like Colossus, but copper in color) and she gains super strength.
Melee, aka Thao Tran. She can phase (like Kitty Pryde) and has some invisibility I think.
Axo, aka Alex Luna. He can emotionally influence people around him and possibly more to be revealed.
And also Reggie who has been revealed to be a mutant in the latest issue.
Thank you so much!
Which thanks to Deadpool those are now able to come over.
New Mutants were in the Logan verse!
You forgot the black knight guy (John Snow), introduced in Eternals
I love black knight in the comics and if midnight sons actually goes through and he’s involved / connected to avengers would be awesome
The most interesting inhuman (outside of Kamala Kahn)..they should just retcon her into a fucking mutant and roll with it.
Amazing character
People forget that Miles and Uncle Aaron exist in the MCU, albeit Miles is mentioned offhand by Aaron
I think MCU Prowler was one of those alt Spidey villains in those boxes in Across the Spider-verse.
Iirc Miles's dad is mentioned too in Daredevil Born Again as "Officer Morales"
Even the “You forgot” posts forget the Runaways…
They should make the Special Presentations every spooky season introducing new horror characters to the MCU. Then we can get a Midnight Sons movie
I think they should introduce the Midnight Sons via special presentations, then introduce the midnight sons in a Dr. Stange movie.
I still don't understand why people take this seriously. In context in the episode, it's a very clear joke making fun of the MCU shoe horning in characters and plots for future films where they don't belong.
Media literacy is dead.
Could have been a great addition to Thunderbolts team.
Or really anywhere in the MCU.
Nothing new
Except for the Avengers #BOOMYOULOOKINFORTHIS
Good luck with that
I hope Peter and Johnny have a bromance to replace Tony and Bruce
Which characters introduced in Marvel Comics in the 2010s or 2020s have made their way into the MCU already?
Ghost rider
Robbie? Didn’t know he was only 2010 and up
Yea, he's the fourth primary Ghost Rider in comics.
2014
Red Hulk was introduced in 2008 and revealed as being Thunderbolt Ross in 2010 (who is, of course, from the 60's).
Joaquin Torres first appeared in 2015. Although the comic character is quite different.
Ironheart, Kamala Khan... that's what I can think of. I think Echo is a little older.
Maya first showed up in 1999.
That's about what I thought. It was one of the first trades I ever bought, definitely the first Daredevil.
I think Muse was introduced in the 2010s too
Aye, in Charles Soule’s 2015 run of Daredevil.
Apart from the ones people have already mentioned:
All the Black Order guys: Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Black Dwarf
Gorr the God-Butcher
Kirsten MacDuffie
Muse. Kamalah. America. Iron heart. I mean sam is there for much longer but he became cap america in 2015. Same for carol. She is here for like 50 years. But she became captain marvel in 2012.
If we talk villans. The black order in 2013. Gorr 2013 Kazi from hawkeye.
Sure i. Forgetting something. But most charachters are here for a long time.
Moon Knight is an easy street level hero you can put in the background but yeah I’m worried he won’t be in it at all.
Oh well, Midnight Suns here we come.
I liked Moon Knight a lot, I hope they find some way to work him in. I'd be cool with having She Hulk in there but also she's not really a superhero in her own words so I could see them cutting her
I think Moon Knight should be key to defeating Rama Tut since Konshu has a history with that version of Kang.
“ not been able to fit into one specific crossover” in my opinion, this is BS. Every character introduced can fit good into this movie if it’s long enough and has good enough writing. emphasis on the long enough though some of the less liked characters(she hulk,Eternals and g’iah) are almost 100% never gonna appear again especially g’iah.
Probably no Captain Marvel since Brie Larson seems over it, no Monica Rambeau, no Scarlet Scarab, no Werewolf by Night, no Namor, no Echo, and I would guess no Guardians. The biggest hurdle for Moon Knight would be Oscar Isaac’s pay grade, as I’m not sure Marvel would want to pay top dollar for a character who is probably not going to do much.
Considering Disney wants to bring back their big hitters like Iron Man and Steve Rogers Captain America, I imagine they want to bring back fan favorite actors/characters back and handpick them across all the Marvel movies/shows ever made.
But thinking of any Avenger movie team assemble? I feel like Sam Wilson Captain America, Hulk, Wong, Spider-Man, Ant-Man and Wasp are the expected lineup.
Honestly would be nice to have a Avengers movie set on a different team handling a threat that required calling a handful of heroes with Nick Fury saying: "This is all we got to work with?"
With all the other heroes/teams just busy and can't tackle this mission/threat.
Wasp retire from acting.
Why would they ever not add Captain Marvel? She still has stories to tell. Just because her 2nd movie did bad doesn't mean she'll never show up again lol.
Translation: say goodbye to some of the lesser TV characters, we aint structuring massive movies around them anymore
Yeah, 99% of those D+ shows were shit and had no real fanbase. A loud minority on reddit who are basically a circlejerk of people living in their own bubble, said they liked Ms. Marvel but holy hell that was one of the worst shows and most annoying characters to come out of D+. I'd rather see She-Hulk on the big screen, without all the 'men are dumb' plotlines though - we don't need to alienate and lose more MCU fans. The numbers are dwindling as is. DP&W will get classic MCU movie $$$ but I don't even think Cap 4 will make a profit after all the reshoots and ballooning budget. After how shit Secret Invasion was though, I lost a lot of interest in the 'new era' of trying to capture that Winter Soldier vibe. SI literally just followed a generic agenda filled checklist to make sure a girl got every power available and saved the day - when it was supposed to be a show focused on Sam Jackson but they made him useless and ruined his entire Fury character.
I can do without all the new witch stuff, Scarlett Witch needs to return but now we have literal covens of witches being introduced and it dilutes what makes SW special. Same with the handful of new Hulks...
Basically any character introduced to take over an OG role (typically done by a young female) can be tossed aside and forgotten about because they never added anything to the mix. The only two good ones that can stay are Kate Bishop and Yelena. The rest are poorly written and thrown in just to check off a box.
Then why bother introducing them in the first place. Wasn’t that the whole point of the mcu in the beginning? Introduce characters and then they show all up in the avengers movies and maybe some other characters movies?
The point of introducing them is to make money and sell cool stories.
Characters not appearing now doesn't mean they won't appear later - it really depends on the story. The comics are much the same.
