tldr..it looks super fancy now, but if you've played it, nothing new you wouldn't already know. Good primer if you came from P5 and know nothing about P3, but the only thing I gleaned from it was Tara Platt remains as Elizabeth, which is a win in my book.

Seems like the recasts hit everybody but Liz in English which is odd since Igor was intentionally recast in 5 for spoiler reasons and has a new JP VA in X (though that seems be changing in Reload again?)

It still amuses me how people often put Ohya in with completely horrible villains. I get it's just opinions. So, whatever. It's just funny how someone who rediscovers her will of exposing scum like Shido is on the same level of people who actively made the lives of others worse. 

Mishima is the first confidant/social link I’ve seen where the player actively hates them.

Why is Shido not in the “NO” tier?

I tend to have really really hot takes. For example, the other characters in my bottom three are Akechi and haru 💀

Mishima is the goat dude, having a negative character arc is totally realistic especially for him. He's genuinely in my top 10 of all these games.

You'll miss out on a few Social Links as it's very difficult to do all of them on a fresh save without a guide, but that's the only thing you really need a guide for. The main story is very linear, and there aren't any hidden requirements to get the best ending like in P4G/P5R.

My suggestion: just play the game. Its your first time, you're not obligated to do absolutely everything on your first time. Just get through with it, get the feel of the game and then start a NG+ if you want to go back and do everything.

You won’t miss out on any big part of the game, but you will likely miss getting 100% on all of your companions. So play once blind, then again with a guide for your next 60+ hour playthrough.

but unfortunately it's incredibly sluggish / delayed when I try hotswapping modes mid combo in public servers or ranked

In a private server I can do it perfectly fine though

but without hotswapping some of his more advanced combos become harder to do

it's the main reason I don't use him much

Ngl, it would be cool if Yuji takes the role of Tengen in this era. Like maybe whatever Kenjaku did with him, possession by Sukuna, eating of the Death Paintings, some other ritual, or a combination of it all made him semi-immortal. Becoming the guardian and more hands-on guide of jujutsu society than Tengrn ever was, yet only coming out himself unless it's an emergency or a new baby Mahito manifests that he has to abort.

Alternatively, he could just find a way to reincarnate more reliably, like becoming a cursed object and being the new "Sukuna" but against curses (a bit more like Angel now that I think about it).

But thematically, it would make more sense if Yuji "hunts down" future Mahitos through the students and the better world he leaves behind; the curse of human hatred being eradicated throughout the ages, by the kindness and unity cultivated by Yuji and the people he loved, then perpetuated by his successors.

That's actually a good detail, also a good indicator of him being unable to move on unlike Sukuna.

He just refuses to change and with it, doesn't even want to return. He may change his mind after countless years, but from all we've seen, he's acting like a sulky baby.
