TL;DR
PowerPyx offers a comprehensive guide for Persona 3 Reload, which covers the game thoroughly [4:1]
[5:1].
General Tips for Smooth Playthrough
For those looking to enjoy Persona 3 Reload without missing much, several tips can enhance your experience. Regularly check your character's phone for useful updates and insights into teammates' personalities [1:1]. Engage with dorm mates every evening and prioritize school social links as they are time-sensitive
[1:3]
[1:11]. Encouraging Junpei during dialogue options can have late-game effects
[1:6]. Be prepared for the final boss, which can be lengthy even on lower difficulties
[1:5].
Achieving the Best Ending
Unlike Persona 5, Persona 3 Reload does not have complex requirements for achieving the best ending. The game's ending is determined by a single choice near the end, with the correct option being quite obvious [2:1]
[2:4]. However, if you're interested in post-game content, "The Answer" story is available as DLC
[2:1].
Guide Availability
For players who prefer using a guide to optimize their playthrough, PowerPyx has developed a 100% walkthrough for Persona 3 Reload [4:1]
[5:1]. This guide aims to help players experience all content without spoilers, although some users have noted minor flaws in it
[5:5]. It's recommended to use such guides to ensure you don't miss any significant events or social links, especially given the added content in the remake
[4:3].
Personal Preferences and Gameplay Experience
Ultimately, whether to use a guide or play naturally depends on personal preference. Some players find guides enhance their experience by ensuring they see all content [5:6], while others prefer exploring the game independently
[5:2]. If you choose to follow a guide, PowerPyx is a reliable source that has been praised for its thoroughness
[4:9].
Persona 5 was my first JRPG ever and I loved it.
Now it's time to move on with P3R and then Metaphor while I wait for the remake of the 4th one.
What tips would you give to me regarding this game so I can make my playthrough as smooth as possible and not to miss much?
I have a kid, so I don't have much time to learn from my mistakes :)
I would honestly advise not playing 3 Atlus games in a row. Not because they're bad, but because they're all very long games and you're liable to get burnt out.
Metaphor's more distinct from the other two of course, but it's still a similar game all things considered.
If you want advice for P3R, though, focus on all the school SLs first since you have less time to do those.
Persona 3 Reload only took me like A month in a half to finish because i played it every day for like 3 and half hours
Talk to everyone at the dorm every evening. Encourage Junpei when it gives you the dialogue option (late game it will have an effect, but just encourage him all throughout the game too, why not!)
The optional hangouts with friends will trigger again if you want to do something else on the day they first ask you to do it. So don't feel bad turning friends down when they ask to hang, you can do it again later and not miss anything.
Don't stress about finishing every social link, pick the ones you like. But I would suggest prioritising school social links whenever they are available, as you can't do them during school holidays. The "fat guy" school friend will be available outside of school time, however!
> Encourage Junpei when it gives you the dialogue option
and around that same time, make sure to buy the white flower from the flower store. (it will be available for purchase after a scene where junpei mentions it)
i heard you can unlock junpei's route =))))
Thanks! Is there an ability similar to the Sprint one in P5 where I insta kill the weak enemies? I loved that one, saved a lot of time
Weak enemies run away from you so you don't need to fight them!
Honestly this is the biggest tip for getting all of the social links. ALWAYS pick the school SLs. You will finish non-school ones with time to spare between the early game, Sundays, the few free days of summer break you will have, and the winter break.
Without saying anything else, the final boss of P3R can take a long time. A very long time. Even on lower difficulties, it can take an hour or more. (And on Hard and above, it turns into a marathon.) That's not including everything you do before you fight it, and after you fight it and the ending stuff.
Just something to keep in mind, especially since you have a kid.
Well damn, I made the same mistake before starting the fight with the P5 final boss (before Royal content) and he woke up + I was alone with him.
Thank for the tip
The P3R final boss is longer.
Take a break between Atlus ga-
Ah! You already did that. You've done the most important prep work, in that case.
Other than that, regularly check your character's phone. Not just to help figure out what to do, but also because some of the texts from your teammates can be genuinely funny and offer some insight on their character. (...Mitsuru.) Also regularly chat up people whenever they show up at the dorm. Jump on the group study projects when you can, because they bump your Academics and give you some great character skits. Choose your July 7th party wisely, and according to what you think would be the funniest. Prioritize whatever characters you like best, both with party members and social links. Odds are they'll reward your efforts. (My Mitsuru and Akihiko were both boss slayers towards the end of the game. The Goodest Boy also did quite well, and Yukari managed excellent support.)
Also, be ready for a slight tone shift. P5 is overall a joyful game with some flashes of dark and melancholy. P3 emphasizes the melancholy a bit more, though it doesn't take itself too seriously.
I'm about to play P3R and was wondering what stuff I'm going to need to do to get the best ending. When I played P5R completely blind, I ended up missing out on the 3rd semester and had to play through the game again. With P4G while looking up what I needed to do to get the golden ending, I ended up spoiling myself on a couple of important plot details, so I figured I'd ask y'all what I need to do to get the best ending, with the minimum amount of information possible.
Nothing. Ig there is a choise that can give you the bad ending near the end of the game, but its pretty obvious what that is when you get to it. I would recommend you do the hanged man sl so you can unlock the sun sl though. The sun sl it the best one in all of persona imo and you need to experience it. You gotta do the hanged man first though.
P3's ending is determined by a single binary choice near the end of the game and the correct answer is extremely obvious. There are no special requirements.
There isn’t anything like that.
There is a bad ending. A character in December will give you two options.
One leads to the bad ending. It is very obvious from his description and the game warning which choice is which.
There is absolutely nothing you need to worry about in that respect regarding P3 bud. There is a decision late into the game that decides good vs bad ending but beyond that there's not a massive chunk of the game you'll be locked out of by not meeting a hidden pre-requisite. That said, Persona 3 Reload's post-game story, the Answer is DLC so you'd need to buy it separately if you want to dive into it.
It's my first time beating Persona 3, I tried to play FES 2 or 3 years ago but my PS3 gave up on me and now I finally beat Persona 3 for the very first time.
I'm not trying to say the game is hard but just want to celebrate perhaps one of the best stories I've ever experienced in gaming maybe even in fiction as a whole
This was such a joyride and I'll probably play it again soon to get some of the last Personas I missed due to being uninformed
Fes and P3P are harder than Reload.
I'm just saying.
I've played basically every SMT game so the challenge isn't an issue for me, the HDMI port on my PS3 died so had to play reload because I did not want to buy Portable or FES again when I already had them so decided to play Reload
I agree, P3 is the strongest in the series in my opinion.
An emotional rollercoaster for sure.
Now play Episode Aigis/The Answer lol.
I'm too broke to afford that rn lol, I've got Clair Obscur to play next, I'll try to save up and play the DLC eventually
Ok so hear me out, I have a full time job, two young daughters and I still have all the fun stuff that comes along with those things. I don’t have a lot of time to play games but persona 3 is one that I have looked forward to.
I finished persona 5 royal about a year ago and I ended up putting in well over 100 hours into it, but I feel my enjoyment of the game came partly due to being able to use a walkthrough to guide me through what to do each day and not much out on anything.
I know persona 3 reload is mostly just a graphical overhaul and systems update to the original (that I have never played) but will old persona 3 walkthrough guides still work for it mostly? I’d like to have one to help guide me through what to do each day so I don’t miss out.
Thanks!
I’m just commenting in case someone spots a guide that’s been released 😭
I remember when P5 came out and I got my copy from Amazon, there was already a guide out that had been translated from Japanese, but obviously the release dates were different then for localisations…
ETA: started playing on game pass using the New Zealand location change. I can only confirm so far the first two class answers are:
the one about carps
middens
Fortunately PowerPyx already has a 100% guide: https://www.powerpyx.com/persona-3-reload-100-walkthrough/
Thanks! Need this to be ready for Rebirth. 😅😂
Just here to tell you that both you and PowerPyx are my heroes! Thanks for linking this!!!
Thank you for this I’ll use this for my Merciless run.
If you find a guide let us know!
It’s very likely there won’t be anything official until this weekend maybe? But I’m using a save slot to have each playable date saved, so when I hit the first Social Link I’ll edit my post with what seemed to get the most 🎶…
It's a little more than just a graphical overhaul and a systems update. They added actual story bits to some characters as well which might throw off some of those guides if said bits use up time slots.
In saying that, I would assume a guide could be reasonably decent. Hopefully, someone who got an early copy can give you more info.
That or just wait a week or two. I'd be shocked if a solid one isn't available even before that honestly.
I’m in almost the same situation as you and feel no shame. The fact that I could follow a guide and experience 100% of p5r the first time through (platinum trophy) made the experience so much more enjoyable for me having also played base 5 when it released.
What guide did you use?
I'm not sure but if you ever find one before or after release, I'd definitely like to know.
powerpyx has made a guide for P3R. I checked with some online playthrough of the game and this seems to be legit and it covers everything. BE WARNNED OF SPOLIERS THOUGH.
Received the game early and i would like to go for the plat, but without a guide it's kinda difficult. I tought about using a P3P one, but the remake adds new social links and events, so idk...
Play the game without a guide. P3R has only been in the wild for a week. No one will have a guide yet. You’re better off just playing the game and enjoying it naturally. Otherwise you’ll probably be waiting at least 2-3 more weeks for a verifiably good guide.
I played P3P last year, and would like to go for 100% in the remake, that's why Im asking
A guide just makes the experience so much more fulfilling though and also the guides never spoil the game. It just optimizes your choices for the most amount of content
What are your thoughts on it so far? Is it like persona 5 royal where you could just do your own thing and still feel like you did everything? Or is it like Persona 4 golden where you need a guide or else you’ll miss out?
Better advice: Play the game how you enjoy the most, don't listen to dweebs on the internet who think their favorite way to play something should also be yours.
There are guide makers like Powerpyx who get the game before release so they can have guides ready on launch. And what a surprise Powerpyx indeed does have a working guide like this on launch.
Powerpyx’s guide is flawed though even 2 months after release lol, I just want to be able to experience most of what the game has to offer in one run
I mean considering the game still hasn't passed its release date I doubt it
https://www.powerpyx.com/persona-3-reload-100-walkthrough/
that's the only one I've found. more will probably come out in the coming weeks

unfinished confidants: futaba (8), yusuke (5), iwai (7), shinya (4), sumire (6)
so far i've done ryuji and makoto's third awakenings
It’s up to you, but remember, if you finish a confidant in the 3rd semester, you can also get their third awakening.
For example: say you get Futaba to level 10, she’ll get her second awakening, then you go manually talk to her after that, she’ll ask to talk and you can get her third awakening/ability.
Personally, I would prioritize the thieves (because the third awakening abilities are (mostly) insane), but if you don’t care about strength, then it’s up to you what you do. If you wanna finish some people’s stories then you should go for those rather than trying to make the strongest thing you can :)
This ^
Depends on if you want to max confidants or have broken third awakening skills. Ann casts party-wide concentrate, morgana has multi target miracle punch, and haru has party-wide tetrakarn and makarakarn.
When you max them, yusuke has party-wide heat riser and futaba has a skill that combines the effects of salvation, samarecarm, heat riser, and rebellion for the whole party. The skill will also help party members who have been knocked down back on their feet so they can evade once more if more enemies are going to attack. The only catch is that its random when this skill comes out.
Yusuke probably has one of the most underwhelming 3rd semester skill because it can be easily replace by Joker
Yeah but that costs a Joker turn over a Yusuke turn. And tbh Yusuke is broken enough as is anyways.
Focus on Futaba and Sumire. Then any 3rd awakenings. The others are too far away. Iwai is probably fine since he’s nights only.
The 3rd awakening skills of ann(mind charges everyone),ryuji(power charges everyone) and makoto(debilitates every shadow) are goated asf, so go for thaf
The main draw of the third awakening is the skill. I.e.
Makoto's does Debilitate to all enemies for 45 SP.
Ryuji provides Charge for the whole team.
Futaba revives all teammates, heals everyone to full health, boosts everyone's attack, defense, and agility, removes all status ailments, boosts everyone's critical rate...and maybe provides Charge and Concentrate. Not sure about that part.
I’ll be starting my first play through of Persona 3 Reload soon after I finish my first play through of Persona 5 Royal. I know practically nothing about P3R, so I’m asking as spoiler free as possible, what do I prioritize/do to get the best story and ending? I also have the Episode Aigis - The Answer expansion if that changes anything. I ask this because I’m currently doing the post final boss palace in p5r in ng+ because I had no idea I had to max out a certain confidant to access it so I missed it. I’m new to the persona games, and it’s coming clear to me that there’s certain things I need to look out for that I’m not very keen at picking up on.
None of the social links are required to see the true ending or any of the content for that matter. So long as you don't make the wrong decision in the late game, you'll be able to see the entire game, then use the DLC to play the sequel chapter.
A few differences to note from P5R:
You don't have a social link with each of your party members, only the girls. The boys get special hangout episodes that they'll text you about. These are on a tight schedule, so if one of the boys on your team messages you about hanging out, it's usually best to do them so you don't miss out.
You only have three social stats (Courage, Charm, and Academics) this time around, and they're easy to raise. Do stuff early and often to boost yourself to the max rating of six in each so you don't get blocked by skill gates to start certain social links.
You don't have a social link with the velvet room attendant this time. Instead, she'll give you side quests. More than just the "fuse persona X with skill Y" type also, she'll send you to find special items, feed cats, and other little errands. Every few tasks you complete for her, she'll ask you to accompany her on an outing. Outings with her do not consume any time so feel free to take part.
Speaking of not taking time, you can pray at the little shrine past the the torii gates at the local shrine to receive a free copy of any skill card in your inventory once per day. This doesn't use your time slot either so feel free to do it whenever you can (remember, the shrine can only he accessed during the afternoon).
If a party member at the dorm had a little smiling face over their head, it means they're available for a special hangout. They might want to cook, watch movies, talk over coffee, or do other stuff. These act like mini-spcial link hangouts: they don't advance your link with them, but repeat them enough, and you'll unlock special passive abilities for them that make charging everyone's Theurgy limit-break attacks easier, so it pays to take the time to cook with the team healer, read books with the navigator, and watch movies with the guys.
Good advices, I'll add a little note:
>you can pray at the little shrine past the the torii gates at the local shrine to receive a free copy of any skill card in your inventory once per day
By mid-to-late game, use this everyday with the skill card Growth 3 to have all your personas level up without having to use them (it gives 100% EXP just by having it in your roster)
Social stats are important. If you have no shame, cheat on the quizes by using google or the online feature. Sleep in class, pray at the shrine for academics. Don't waste your time at the arcade to improve your persona's either. It's a literal time waste for like +3 to a single stat that you can basically farm later on lol
The main plot picks up in September. Until then, P3 gives a lot of space for its social sim elements to breathe as it was Atlus's first outing with the genre. Try to get immersed in it before judging.
There is no specific requirements for extra content in P3. However, prioritize school Social Links since you won't be able to upgrade them during vacations. Linked Episodes should also be fairly high priority, essential mini Social Links for characters that didn't have them in the original
There are only 2 endings, at one point on the game you will be asked one question which determines which one you get and it’s pretty clear what the right answer is
Title says it all. From my memory, I remember Persona 3 being quite difficult. Playing normal mode though Augusts full moon boss (Chariot/Justice) and I've yet to feel challenged at all.
Maybe it's the super moves being super overturned, the lack of idiot party members, or just maybe I'm better at games than I was as a kid, but the game has been laughabley easy.
Does it get harder later on?
The biggest change in difficulty is game overs letting you restart the battle instead of just laughing at you.
The game was never difficult so much as it was unforgiving. The party doesn't need to wipe, just the MC, and regular mobs can 2-shot you with crits/weakness hits or even 1-shot you with instakill spells.
That being said, I'd say the second biggest is that the light and dark damage skills were added, and I'm pretty sure homunculi were too, so there's both less enemy usage of mudo/hama and less possibility of it mattering even if it lands.
Yeah, in the OG it was often bad RNG that lead to a game over. Your character had to be the successive target of his weakness or companion attacking instead of healing.
Not a fan, when the MC death leads to a game over. You always have to be cautious with your HP while you can gamble with all the other characters.
Not having to redo everything when you die also remove some of that harder feeling. Having to redo a bunch of floors and wasting your time isn't how a game should be hard in my opinion. Especially when it's often caused by bad luck with RNG.
Homunculi were there in Portable, at the very least. But yeah, I don’t recall Eiha/Kouha being in that. I very much recall Mudo/Hama.
(And in that, my only other experience with P3, I only made it to uhhhh June)
Homunculi were in the original, but were only obtainable late game, and only prevented instant death against the MC if I remember correctly. They're available much earlier in Reload.
Yeah I am playing on Hard and I don't think it is much different. It is not challenging at all, and I am running through floors avoiding battle as much as is reasonable.
There is so much extra time at night not much reason to preserve SP either.
Your party members also don't ditch you early from fatigue.
And also you can select skills to inherit, it's not RNG
The latter is a big deal. Working a persona for the MC of each element with the appropriate skills was a lot of work. It would let you skate through a substantial fraction of random encounters thanks to multi-target spell into all out attack though.
And, like any SMT game, covering your weaknesses was critical.
Being able to control your party members really really helps me. But it does feel easier. I’m considering cranking it up to hard.
Didn't help me... Even the monad doors are usually pretty easy
I shit you not, to this day I haven't beaten the original P3 because on the final boss with my party nearly wiped and the boss only needing one hit to finish... MARIN FUCKING KARIN.
Full wipe. Game over. Want to run that 40 mins back?
I YouTubed the ending.
I'm not sure in P3:R, but in P5, merciless was actually easier than hard since it gave you and the enemies the same damage multiplier.
I actually miss the fatigue. But I still stop now when they get tired.
They left the dialogue in. It actually drives me insane when they submissively complain about how they’re tired but they could keep going. When yukari was complaining and then mitsuru got on the intercom to let me know yukari was tired…I bailed.
So I beat the game. I cried my eyes out. I decided to save the true ending for NG+.
Here's a question: do people use their stronger personas to speed through the game, or is it a more enjoyable experience to re-grind?
Is it one of those things frowned upon?
I used Yoshitsune maxed out so I could focus on getting all of the Social Links I couldn’t get during my first run through
Personally I used the first playthrough for the gameplay and challenge and during the second one I just kinda steamrolled to focus on the story, you can do whatever tho :D
it's a single player game why would anyone frown at you for playing how you want
People do both.
I re-grind but put focus on personas that I didn't use before.
Persona 3: Reload walkthrough
Key Considerations for a Persona 3: Reload Walkthrough
Game Structure: Familiarize yourself with the game's structure, which includes daily life segments (social interactions, school activities) and dungeon crawling (Tartarus exploration).
Social Links: Prioritize building Social Links with characters, as they enhance your abilities and provide valuable bonuses during battles. Focus on key characters that align with your playstyle.
Time Management: Balance your time effectively between social activities, leveling up Personas, and exploring Tartarus. Use a calendar to track important events and deadlines.
Combat Mechanics: Understand the turn-based combat system, including exploiting enemy weaknesses and using the right Personas for different situations. Experiment with fusions to create powerful Personas.
Character Development: Pay attention to character stats and abilities. Level up your characters and Personas strategically to prepare for tougher battles.
Side Quests: Engage in side quests and optional content to gain additional experience, items, and story depth. These can be crucial for character development and overall enjoyment.
Recommendation: Look for detailed guides or video walkthroughs that provide step-by-step instructions, tips for boss fights, and optimal strategies for Social Links. Websites like GameFAQs or YouTube channels dedicated to RPGs can be invaluable resources. Additionally, consider joining forums or communities where players share their experiences and strategies for a more interactive learning experience.
