TL;DR While there is no direct tier list for Street Fighter 6 in the discussions, insights can be drawn from community preferences and character strengths from previous versions and similar contexts. Players often look at character versatility, ease of use, and competitive viability when forming tier lists.
Character Versatility and Strength
In fighting games like Street Fighter, characters that offer a balance of offensive and defensive capabilities often rank higher in tier lists. Characters like Akuma, known for his powerful moveset and versatility, are frequently mentioned in tier lists across various discussions [4:1]. This suggests that players value characters who can adapt to different playstyles and situations.
Community Preferences and Trends
Community-driven tier lists often reflect the collective experience and opinions of players. For example, characters with unique abilities or those that fit well within team dynamics (as seen in team-based formats) tend to be favored. Teams featuring characters like Makoto, Elena, and Dudley highlight the importance of synergy and individual character strengths [3:2].
Competitive Viability
Characters that perform well in tournaments or have been consistently used by top players can influence their placement on tier lists. The presence of characters like Karin Kanzuki and Balrog in team compositions indicates their competitive viability and popularity among skilled players [3:1]
[3:4].
Adaptation and Updates
As new updates and patches are released, tier lists can change significantly. Players must stay informed about game updates that may alter character abilities or introduce new mechanics. This dynamic nature of fighting games means that tier lists are often fluid and subject to change based on the latest meta.
Conclusion
While specific tier lists for Street Fighter 6 were not directly discussed, understanding the factors that contribute to character rankings—such as versatility, community preferences, competitive performance, and adaptability to updates—can help players form their own tier assessments. Engaging with community forums and staying updated with competitive scenes are effective ways to keep abreast of evolving tier lists.
Panette has been voted by the community as the fifth best unit in the game, now we move on to the sixth place. Previous poll results!
DO NOT comment to vote. You can still comment to discuss and debate, obviously. But your comments will not be counted as votes. Instead, vote using the link above.
Every day, a new unit will be put in the tier being discussed, or a new tier break will be made. Every unit still left is voted on, and whoever receives the most votes will be placed in the current tier. At the moment, we're in the S tier.
Every poll will include a voting option that says "No other units belong in this tier". If that option gets the majority vote, then that tier is SEALED, no more units will be voted in it, and we will move the discussion to the next tier.
Once we are done with the units, I plan on doing another Tier List for the Emblem Rings.
Maddening difficulty with no DLC. Assume all units are rated in Fixed Growths mode. There are no restrictions on the method you take to beat the game.
"No DLC" means the Ancient Well, the free Steel Weapons and the Heroes Weapons and rings are allowed. What is not allowed are the expansion pass resources, anything related to the Divine Paralogues, the Edelgard Emblem, and the Fell Xenologue.
There is no criteria for rating. That is up to you, the community. But if you ask me, I believe the S tier is the top, and someone will occupy it and be the standard to which everything else is compared. Everything else is measured in distance from the S tier.
Just keep in mind what units you believe belong in the same tier. But for now, I ask you: Who do you think is the sixth best unit in the game?
Happy tiering!
I think it's time to move to the A tier
Hard disagree. At minimum Alear belongs on S tier for being the best bonded shield unit in the game and having access to the dragon class.
I also think Chloe and arguably Merrin deserve S tier as well.
Dragon class is overrated as fuck and Alear just doesn’t have the bulk or damage output to be S tier.
While I agree that Alear belongs to the S tier, I don't understand how they can be the best Bonded Shield user in the game. Is it because of Alear's access to the convoy for staves while in the Martial Master class? Is there something I'm missing? My problem with MM Alear is the underwhelming damage output, it falls hard combat-wise.
Ain’t no way Alear doesn’t get into the S-tier with all the emblem ring options. Corrin, Byleth and Lucina alone should be reason enough
Corrin is better on a Sage for 3 range hexing + flame tile is by far the best anyways. Byleth is overrated, you’re marrying yourself to a utility build that has low payoff. And Alear isn’t even the best Lucina use case.
I’d agree with Alear as bottom of S because of how they can snowball with Marth very conveniently and have very solid potential as a Warrior or Wyvern. But even then I think A is more appropriate.
Who is a better Lucina ?
To add more on Alear :
I never like dragon bonuses on any emblem. I prefer cav bonded with Lucina, covert and Mystical are just better for Corrin since the rest of the veins don't do much, and Byleth can pretty much go on anyone and be fine.
There’s no world you can convince me Anna is the 6th best character in Engage I’m just not accepting that with the early game seal shortage.
I think I’m voting for tier break this time. There are decently strong cases for Hort and Alear as the game’s best support options or units like Chloe, Merrin, Citrinne and Amber for other incredibly strong carries, but I don’t think any are as impactful as the units already placed. The break here also makes sure that A-tier ends up being a decent size as otherwise it also ends up pretty empty.
The arguments I can see for the above though are:
Alear - perfect availability and force deploy with Marth in early game make for a great first impression/decent snowball to start with. Keeping Marth on them until Chloe/maybe after ch5 is a good option since they have Divine Speed, Break Defences and extra Lodestar hits. An early master seal isn’t as impactful for them, so they can all go to better options while Alear can get the chapter 10 seal and reclass for 11 if that’s your goal. Divinely Inspiring is incredibly useful for the entire game, and you can also double up on this with Spur Attack.
Their dragon utility is solid, but is often better on different options. Corrin gives vein flexibility and extra Roar range, but might be better on a mystical who does better chip, can 3-range hex and gets the best vein. Byleth gives them enough speed to quad with arts for a quick refresh, and omni-instruct is a great boost but Alear doesn’t have the easiest manoeuvrability being foot-locked. It may be better on a Mystical for Thyrsus or a covert for more specific instruct situationally. They are uniquely good with Lucina when reclassed since they support the whole cast and easily stack avoid for Dual Support as well as provided DI to anyone they’re shielding. Naturally high speed also means they’re pretty safe regardless of if they’re in Griffin, MM or RK - convoy staff access is also a big plus. Engage+ is also strong, but at the same time I find I would often rather keep the utility of what they/the partner already have equipped.
Hort - has innate flight and great staff access. +1 to staff range isn’t always integral, but it is at least freer positioning for healing while keeping her out of harms way. Her massive luck stat makes her the best offensive staffer for freeze, silence and entraps etc and this all naturally means she pairs excellently with Micaiah. I think that’s her best option, but not her only one: you can also use Micaiah to bring someone else up to Hort’s staff level for warping/healing without the +1 range (2 great staffers may be better for some team comps) while Hort can focus on Corrin/Byleth/Celica for chips, hexes, dance ranges, Seraphim nuking when not staffing.
Chloe & Merrin - Chloe has the availability lead and great earlygame performance, and Merrin is another insane base stat unit. Both end up in similar places, Merrin just has +2 Str/Bld while Chloe has more HP and her +2 Dmg personal iirc. Both are capable carries through Solm that require a little more work for lategame, but it’s not difficult for either of them with the emblems available. Griffin Chloe is almost entirely fixed by Eirika, or a late switch to Mage Knight to capitalise on better magic damage. You can go early Sword Power for either end result and profit from returning Marth to her in MK later. Merrin’s reclass options aren’t the best in Solm, but Wyvern or Warrior are still OP and she’s incredibly fast with her Spd/Bld combo. Wolf Knight is also a really strong class on its own with how strong dagger forges are, and makes her pair surprisingly well with Ike or Eirika. Martial Master with Eirika after chapter 17 is also a decent low move option.
Amber & Citrinne - basically early versions of the units already in S. Their high bases/growths in their respective damage stat let them hit some thresholds that are really difficult for others, and earlygame inheritance gives both a interesting niche. Amber wants an early second seal and can run Panette’s Warrior crit build with slightly worse reliability, but can also pick up early Vantage/Hold Out to run a lite-version with Ike early, or grab Momentum as a wyvern to hit some high ORKO thresholds, or run vantage Greatlance/axe. Citrinne only needs a master seal early and can profit off of the MK promo bonuses for a while, then carried for longer with Lyn inheritance. She can also do some interesting things with early momentum pickup too - she can be swapped to Sniper after you get the Radiant Bow, and ORKO practically anything with Astra Storm, including Roy!Marni.
While I am by no means a Maddening expert, I think is time to drop to A. I've been around since Launch, and there is no one who fits in S. While there are still very good units, like Alear, Hortensia, Amber and Chloe, none of them approach the level of game change that those listed above provide.
All of these guys have played rotation minutes in the NBA and been on two way contracts for multiple seasons.
Lester Quinones is a prototype SG with good size at 6'5 and athleticism also a career 20 ppg guy in the G League.
Justin Minaya is a defensive menace his offense is like Trevelin Queen but he brings energy, defense and tenacity.
Phillip Wheeler played with 76ers last season he is atheltic and has a high motor. Had some sick highlights with the 76ers.
Collin Castleton played on the Magic G League team and has been on a two way with Raptors, Memphis and Lakers. He was a solid rotation guy for the Raptors as a Center who can protect the rim.
Reece Beekman struggled on offense last year with the Nets but is a pest on defense and a solid passer and floor general with a quick first step.
Who do you guys think wins the final spot? I think Lester will be the guy who ends up making the final two way spot but all these guys are capable and have played regular season minutes.
I bet we leave the 2 way spot open.
So we leave the last roster spot open and last two way with Moritz injured?
Idk
We can’t sign a 15th standard player. We are capped out. Aren’t you the one who asks this same question every month?
Ehhh give me Keon Johnson…lol nah but ima go with Quinones or Castleton.
Yeah I like Keon he would be dope.
We already have WCJ, Goga, Moritz, Orlando Robinson and Jonathan Isaac not sure we add another big man with last 2 way.
I think we sign the 2 way for sure and the the last roster spot we leave open until later in the year when the cap hit is less
Man I liked Beastvelin Queen
Same wish he was still two way eligible him and Kevon Harris were my favorite two way players Magic have had

In some ways I get what they are saying, but also like, Wemby, Chet, Mobley, iHart, Jokic, Giannis, AD, Zubac, Kat, like these are the premier big men of the league right now.
"Are there any more true power forwards, or are the power forwards gone?"
There's a whole lot of centers on your list.
“Some teams is playing five 6’8 guys, they tallest guy on the court is 6’9”
My comment has a lot of 7 footers.
Yeah in some ways he's not up to with the league, as we've seen a big man reinasence this decade.
Warriors had 1 dude who was taller than 6'9
In the warriors run in 2022 there was not a single player above 6‘9 on either team, I think that was the peak of this
The pacers this year was 6’10 and shorter outside of Myles Turner, 18% of the time in the playoffs the pacers were using 6’9 and shorter guys exclusively.
The Thunder were also known for their small ball lineups throughout the year. Running 686 minutes of lineups without Chet, Hart, Jwill, Carlson or Dieng. Everyone else on their roster was 6’7 and shorter (Jwill is only 6’8 and if you don’t count him it was 1262 minutes)
Warriors spent 41% of their time in the playoffs without a player over 6’8 and only Post was above 6’9
So yes bigs are making a resurgence (Jokic, Embiid, Giannis winning 6/7 of the last MVPs) but this hybrid thing is very real and the day of the unskilled big is over cuz they wouldn’t rather have a skilled 6’8 guy as opposed to a 7 foot clunker
Best example I can think of is like Kofi Cockburn who would have easily been a first rounder in the 90s but now struggles to even be a Gleague level talent even tho he was poty in college
Giannis, embiid jokic are skilled mvp big men ..
But even at the level below mvp, there are skilled big men and situational big men.
Wemby, chet, hartenstein , paulo , kat, Mobley etc
Simply count the number of teams with a starting center of ovrr 6'9
It's not that there's no place for hybrid 6'9 small ball team, but that is not overtaking the league
he protec he atac, but most importantly, he zech
This is so dumb when two of the three best players are legit bigs and 4/5 MVP winners have been bigs and if you go back 6/7 MVPs have been bigs who are 6’10 and up.
When you look around the league nearly ever team starts a legit big and the ones who don’t like the heat with Bam are trying to run double big lineups.
Do teams sometimes go “small” sure but that has been a thing for nearly two decades now.
He’s elite defense, passing, and rebounding. You got to see him up close as he hoisted Larry.
I mean even then, Wemby, Mobley, Chet all play 4 sometimes, AD, Giannis, JJJ, Paolo are the best PFs in the game, like every team in the league would like a 6’10 forward but unfortunately 6’10 guys that can play PF aren’t that common.
Also he literally says “some teams are playing 5 6’8 guys, or 6’9 is the tallest guy on the floor”.
Meh maybe I snuck him in there(also forgot Gobert) but he’s probably a top 15 C.
Funny thing is that cookie's actually tall so he might very well be 6'1", Dillon is already confirmed 5'6" n guy in the middle I have no idea who he is might in fact be that tall.
Keep in mind Dillon is wearing heels.
yeah. i think 5'11, 5'6 and 6'5
No way is the guy in the middle 5’6
Im 5'11 bro i don't know what you are talking about, all i did was say what i felt accurate and thats it.🤷♂️
5'8, 6'2, 5'5
guy on the right is known to wear shoe lifts though
Grown ass man mentally stuck at age 12.
4'4, 4'10, 3'11
3'4, 3'10, 2'11
I heard the gym is gay
Nah the dude in the middle definitely looks over 5’4”
If right is 5’6”, left is 5’10” and middle is 6’4”. The other two guys might actually be even shorter because 5’6” is leaning more than anyone else in the photo - the other two are standing straight up.
Fury wearing the 2 inch heels to be 6’6 lol
What’s going on with Fury’s shoes ?
He is wearing heels he has never had that difference over lewis
Hell no Holyfield was 6’1.5 peak
I'm going to say he was 6'2.5(prime), I met him and his brother at a basketball game.
What
most annoying title just say their names
No
Fury - 202cm Lewis (prime) - 195cm Usyk - 189cm Holyfield (prime) - 189cm
Bosh.
Thank god we have metric system
Slides 1 and 2 are my predictions, slide 1 being my predictions since day 1 of Blue and 2 being my new predictions post-trial/going into chapter 2. Slides 3 and 4 are just my general opinions on the characters, slide 3, again, being on day 1 and slide 4 being post-trial/going into chapter 2 (I made the first tier list for my opinions on the characters after day 1 ended and never updated it till now, so just keep in mind slide 3 was my very first impressions of each of the characters)
That aged wonderfully lmao, but ugh I love Tei too, I just so expect him to die somehow
I want him to live so badly but none of my favorites ever do 😭🤚not to mention that him and Ikeda just give off a mix of early yanagi/hiroaki and ojima/hiroaki and there's NO WAY Von's gonna have both of the main male relationships survive together again 😭
I have played 6 for quite a bit. But recently I just thought about this game actually having a meta and tier lists at all.
The only character I can think of being stronger than most is 2B, but I chalk that up to me just not knowing how to fight her yet.
So is there a tier list for SC6?
There are some characters that people agree are strong, like Amy, Azwel, and Nightmare, and characters that are weak, like Taki, and Maxi, but afaik, nobody is unplayable. Beyond that, there doesn't seem to be a tier list people agree on with clear divisions of power. 2B seems like she's somewhere maybe slightly above the middle of the pack, according to most sentiment, but she's not busted. She has good combos and has tools for engagements at all ranges, but pressure is fake as fuck, and weak to sidestep at closer ranges.
This is a video from Boom and Ramon, two top-tier legends in the SC competitive space, and they break down the roster and explain who they think are the strongest and why. You can also skip to the end if you just wanna see the completed tier lists.

Their tier lists are pretty good with the exception of yoshi, idk why they insist on this character being anywhere in top 5 when he very rarely ever wins tournaments and has obvious flaws like short range and risky mixups. That being said every character is playable even at the highest levels.
Check 8wayrun they have the most “agreeable” tier list there. As far as I recall 2b was kinda mid. 2a on most characters shuts down her shenanigans. I think up there were Setsuka, sophitia and Mitsu if I remember correctly.
Cool.
I'm just surprised that it took me this long before I realized that Soul zcalibur as a whole probably does have a Meta. I play this series for fun on and off and I really never thought about it competitively till now
Check out the Horseface Wiki as well. Tons of info on characters, including detailed frame data.
Yeah to be honest there isn’t really a character you can’t win with. Like it’s not as unfair like Soul calibur 2 for example where Yun-seong had his own tier for how shitty he was. I think the bottom on this one is Taki but she is still viable.
2B is a pretty big knowledge-check+oki 50/50 character, so if the opponent can respond appropriately to it she can struggle. That's not say she's bad (Look up Jimbonator or Kayane playing her) but is definitely not high tier.
That said the game is overall pretty well balanced. To the point where if you're talking tiers there isn't even a D-tier imo. Like for the longest while I remember people calling Gerry weak but that doesn't stop him from taking first place in some tournies.
There is a defined meta but everyone in this game is really good and there's no matchup that's horrendous, so play whoever you want and have fun
I always play for fun when it comes to soul calibur ever since I played my first one like more than a decade ago
idk what that means but YAAAYY CLAVI GNAT
blue ones are joe biden supporters red ones are trump supporters basically YAY
I know damn well Epic hyehehe would claim its puppet is alive and above legal age to vote
makes damn sense 😭

Street fighter 6 tier list
Key Considerations for a Street Fighter 6 Tier List:
Character Balance: Tier lists are often based on character balance, which includes strengths, weaknesses, and overall effectiveness in competitive play.
Matchup Knowledge: Understanding how characters perform against one another is crucial. Some characters may excel against certain opponents while struggling against others.
Player Skill: A character's tier can also depend on the player's skill level. A top-tier character in the hands of a novice may not perform as well as a lower-tier character in the hands of a skilled player.
Recent Updates: Keep an eye on patch notes and updates, as balance changes can shift character rankings frequently.
Community Consensus: Look for tier lists from reputable sources, such as professional players and community tournaments, to gauge the general consensus.
Takeaways:
Top-Tier Characters: Typically include those with strong tools, versatile playstyles, and effective combos. Examples might include characters like Luke, Juri, or Ken, depending on the current meta.
Mid-Tier Characters: These characters are generally balanced but may lack some of the advantages of top-tier characters. They can still be effective in the right hands.
Low-Tier Characters: Often have significant weaknesses or limited tools, making them less favorable in competitive play.
Recommendation: For the most accurate and up-to-date tier list, check community resources like event hubs, Smash.gg, or forums where competitive players discuss their experiences. This will give you insights into the current meta and help you choose a character that suits your playstyle.
