TL;DR The Aurora codes in Subnautica are found within the game, primarily through PDAs scattered around the Aurora and radio transmissions. The Captain's Quarters code is received via a radio message later in the game.
Finding the Codes
In Subnautica, most of the room codes for the Aurora can be found on abandoned PDAs located throughout the ship [3:1]. For example, the lab code can be found just outside the lab on a PDA
[2:4]. The Captain’s Quarters code is unique as it is delivered to players through a radio transmission during the course of the game
[2:3].
Entering the Aurora
Players do not need a code to enter the Aurora initially. Access is gained by navigating the environment, and once inside, players can find additional codes for specific rooms [2:1]. There are multiple entry points, including one that leads to the bridge
[2:2].
Gameplay Impact
Using codes early does not impact the storyline or missions negatively. Players who access areas like the storage room before receiving the codes naturally will not miss out on any story elements [3:1]. However, some players prefer discovering these codes organically for a more immersive experience
[4:1].
Upgrades and Tools
While exploring the Aurora, players can find various upgrades such as Cyclops upgrades and Seamoth storage modules. To access certain areas, tools like the laser cutter and repair tool are necessary [5:1]
[5:2]. It is recommended to explore thoroughly to ensure all available upgrades are collected.
For those seeking a more guided approach, online resources and community forums provide detailed walkthroughs and code lists, though some players may find it more rewarding to discover these elements independently.
Hi console player here anyone know what button I have to press to input the code?
What do you mean code? A room code or the command console?
The room code if his talking about aurora
You click on each button on the control panel screen by the door. In other words, there's no separate game-user-interface for it. You interact with the panel in-game.
No code to get in either direction. My mistake my first few runs was entering through the lab. It wasn't until I watched jacksepticeye that I realized that there's a ramp or whatever to the right that leads you up and you enter near the bridge where you can get more info, then that leads to the overhang in the cargo bay that you can't really go up, just down. Then leave through the lab. If you take that route and pick up everything, you'll get all the codes, but the codes are listed online.
You get the lab code just outside of the lab by that weird machine thing. The captain’s quarters code in over radio. Some guy yelling at him about snadwiches in the background.
You don't need to get a code to get in. You get the captain's quarters code on the radio and I don't quite remember where to find the lab code. If you google them you can find them though
lab code is on a pda you can find
So i just started this game 2 days ago and i have 14h on my save... My Seemoth was still basic and i annoyed me that i didn't find any upgrades to dive deeper because i wanted to explore the lifepod that is on the seebed. So i watched a YT video to find out where the upgrades are. He said that the MK1 upgrade was in the aurora and he also showed the code to get in the storage room etc. So I got in and started to loot and scan things an it was A LOT hehe My Question is, did I skip anything (story, missions,...) because i used the code to early or is everything fine and I can contine playing and enjoy the whole game?
Ah, watching YouTube videos is strange way of playing Subnautica, IMHO. Concerning codes, you won't break or miss anything
yeah I know, i usually also don't use Youtube for Games like Sub. but i got so frustrated that i couldn't find those upgrades so i could explore things >200
Yes and no.
On one hand some there’s some cool shit to stumble up I’m glad I didn’t know about. On the other, it’s a difficult game to explore systematically without taking manual notes and so it’s easy to play for a few hours with nothing happening.
A lot of the time I had the feeling I hadn’t triggered a story event, or had left something behind, or could move on because I couldn’t find blue prints. Turns out, it’s not really like that, but it does leave you feeling as though you’re completely off track at times, or if you’ve done something in the wrong order.
Most of the codes can be found on abandoned PDAs lying about on the Aurora. The only exception is the Captain’s Quarters, the code for which you get from a radio transmission later in the game.
So no, you haven’t missed or skipped anything story-wise by going into the storage room early.
good! i got the captains quarters codes yesterday thank you for responding i got worried for a sec hehehe
There's a PDA very close to there with the code
Research though the personnel logs. You'll find them.
PDA
You can Google it but it’s much more satisfying to find out on your own. Just keep playing and make sure you check the codes section of your PDA
So I explored the aurora,I found cyclope upgrade and seamoth storage and mk1 upgrade,is there any other upgrade in aurora?
Yes. But you need the welding torch to access those bays.
I found only 3 upgrades using laser cutter, repair tool and door codes
Wait, just upgrade mods? Then yes I believe there is just 3. One for each vehicle. Plus, the prawn bay.
short answer, the robotics bay was cut from the game, and that list is outdated.
long answer, see short answer.
Was it in the game in early access? If so is there any footage of it
Might've been an old one
Also captains quarters have been renamed, this list is a bit outdated. The codes still work though
It is for a tiny room under stairs or back way to room 80% sure it is back way because I used this
Title says it all really (major spoilers)
They're all just gotten through gameplay.
Theres not too much "secret" about them, just that revealing them would spoil the story
On steam there are 2 hidden achievements I wanted to know what they were
The requested tutorial is finished! I improved the design to make it feels a bit "chunkier", and also some unique design to the interior. See the full Video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/-9w-PbGbBBU

The data decodes to "95 179 158 201". It’s part of an older ARG thing.
its already solved on the (rather mid) ppg wiki
Those aren't QR codes
yes but they are data matrixs
Your Question has been solved
Every possible piece of lore that you find in game has been found, anything you post here will give you an answer of "yes"
I finished mine on monday when I saw it!! Super fun
I'm actually pretty excited for the game to release.
It already has. Has been for months
