I spent a TON of time dancing outside this year. There is nothing in this world like a big, stretchy swingout under the evening sun to the tune of Ella Fitzgerald, or a close and slow blues under the starry sky. Those moments will stay with me forever :)

I got hired to DJ an event outside my local scene, I started learning some Blues, and we doubled attendance at our weekly class/social!

Boogie Down South in Margaret River with Tyedric Hill & Breonna Jordan teaching. EPIC weekend!!

Either learning the shorty George, shim sham or Texas Tommy is my fav I love doing them all

A couple things:

-my confidence and desire to solo jazz has skyrocketed! It feels really good to express myself this way and I feel confident performing it.

-I finally became interested in bal and will be going to my first bal event this year

-I finally became interested in blues and will be going to my first blues event this year 🤪

-creating my first ever routine!

-Beantown! My first true weeklong experience and the farthest I had traveled for dance. I also went to focus but the former definitely felt more like a vacation experience.

-Winning a newcomer mix and match!!

But how do you tell the impact of a dance from physical and digital sales idgi

I honestly try to stay away from awards season stuff because it's just crazy but I honestly don't get this one. What's the difference between best dance performance and best song/album then?

i just looked through the quotes and 75% of the svt tweet (not @ how the op completely forgot them at first 🙄🙄) is filled with other group fans?? so not sure why this rant is necessary when there's really not that many fans complaining. but those fans who are have a good point - like at the end of the day, svt are known as the performance group, but even they're rank 5???? like what IS this criteria, it makes no sense, and there's nothing wrong in the fans calling that out. why should the song's performance matter for a dance category? even if they changed the category's name to Top Selling Performance Song, why is that relevant? it's basically just Song of the Year for boy groups bc 99% of kpop songs have a choreo. its senseless, i just don't understand

tbh award shows like that are honestly useless if they are going to judge art based on its popularity but then again art that is popular is considered to have more value which is valid but also sad because there can be someone more deserving of receiving that honour who did better that year.

in the end it comes down to fandom power and influence so theres nothing you can do

Hands down Mammootty from Bramayugam. It's a legendary performance worthy of text book. In years to come, it'll be studied and discussed and will remain as a source of pride for our industry.

Then comes VR and prithvi and FF All neat, skilled portrayals.

Saw all the movies, Loved all of em. Man but BRAMAYUGAM takes the crown. >!Remember he was able to convince he’s a human sorcerer being a demon and when we rewatch the movie It seems like he was always the demon. !<

Beyond the obvious of their Kingdom performances, I loved the Winter Falls + Thunderous Christmas mash-up. The little tap dancing part is delightful.

Beyond live Unlock Side Effects (it's SO COOL, they use red ribbons and the remixed version they use is amazing, they all look stunning af), Stray Kids Intro + Levanter at Gaon Chart music awards (the Chan into, oh my gosh, also they all look really engrossed in the performance, I.N looks like he's about to cry, they really nailed that one), Stray Kids back door at inkigayo performance (I think it was the last show of the promotions and they were really goofy and playful and jumping on each others backs and it just gives me so much serotonin), the first performance of 3racha by 3racha is so cool, there's a fan video that shows the whole thing and the energy is incredible, the quality is pretty good too, Danceracha performing Taste ar MBC (they look unreal, seriously), the Wolfgang performance they did right after Kingdom when Hyunjin was back (from the Kingdomweek series), and literally every single Kingdom performance 😀

Unfortunately I have yet to see them live but am planning to next round of concerts

Some people chose others I would've picked, but here are some I like:

• Beyond Live/SBS Gayo God's Menu nanta/knife performance
• The 2018 KCON NY intro and District 9 performance. If you haven't seen it, the Mnet, SKZ channel videos, and other content from this time are fun.
• The 3rd Eye/Side Effects/Carpe Diem/Double Knot performance from the 2019 vlive awards
• I won't link them, but the Mixtape: OH, Scars, and Lost Me performances from The First Take are top notch.

Tour wise, Lonely St. was my favorite from the Maniac concerts. I didn't love the autotune in the unveil, but the live version completely shot it up my song list.

It was supposed to be released Thursday from what I read but it wasn’t. I assume this weekend sometime.
