Nike and Under Armour
Nike is often considered a safe choice for sportswear due to its popularity and wide range of products [1:1]. Under Armour also receives high praise for its comfortable and reliable sports clothing, making it a favorite among many athletes
[1:2]
[5:3].
New Balance and Champion
Despite being less recognized than Nike, New Balance has been noted for its quality, especially in footwear [1:3]. Champion offers great value with competitive pricing and good quality, making it an attractive option for those looking for affordability without compromising on quality
[1:4].
Patagonia and Outdoor Brands
For durability and longevity, outdoor brands like Patagonia, Outdoor Research, and Mammut are recommended. These brands are known for their robust materials and construction, suitable for various sporting activities [2:1].
Athleisure Options
Vuori and Tasc are popular choices for athleisure wear, offering stylish options that can be worn both in the gym and casually. Vuori is appreciated for its pants and long sleeves, while Tasc is noted for its sustainable practices [5:1]
[5:2]. Rhone is another brand mentioned, though it's more expensive and typically purchased during sales
[5:1].
Specialized and Lesser-Known Brands
For unique styles, Fila and Sergio Tacchini offer distinctive tracksuits that have a certain appeal [3:1]
[3:2]. Additionally, brands like Flag Nor Fail and Better Bodies were mentioned as favorites for specific preferences
[5:7].
In summary, while Nike and Under Armour remain top choices for general sportswear, exploring other brands like New Balance, Champion, Patagonia, Vuori, and Tasc can provide quality alternatives depending on your needs and budget.
Couldn’t put all so if not listed choose the best out of the 5.
Under Armour, 100%, haven't had a bad experience with their products, their sports clothing is comfortable, even just the more normal clothes they have are so comfy.
New Balance being on top? I do agree New Balance is the best in this group but I'm suprised people picked NB over Nike despite the latter being much popular and recognized
I actually prefer Champion. It’s priced better than most on this list and the quality is great.
I'd say it it depends on what clothing part we're talking about.
Nike is always a safe choice for me, but I've had experience with a brand called ID - which is actually workwear. However, some of their polo shirts are lightweight and incredibly comfortable. Pretty great choice, despite not being a 'sports brand' per se.
Any recommendations for sportswear? Maybe not for life since a lot of clothes break but the most durable and good for value sportswear brands you guys know.
My Adidas socks keep on breaking while playing and one shirt from Nike costs $40+ these days which is kinda crazy if I want to buy a lot.
My own faves so far are Decathlon for general sporting equipment and Adidas shoes for football.
If we had a budget, that might help.
If we had a sport, that might help.
If we had a sex, that might help.
We have a search engine and for socks, we speak to that topic 4 times a week.
Below $40 shirts, but willing to spend more if higher quality. I was hoping to use in more of a general use since I go running, boxing, bouldering, and football. And something for men.
At ease
Patagonia, outdoor research, mammut, all of the outdoor brands will last longer than the sports marketed brands imo.
These are dope af. They make you look sharp, intimidating, and give you the speed and mobility to take care of business.
What's the best retailer to get them from?
What is your favorite ensemble?
Fila is for associates, made guys wear sergio tacchini
Fila tracksuit or no Fila tracksuit, these guys are out of breath lifting their dicks.
Jimmy Altieri. Just say it.
He was lucky. He got to be buried in his jogging suit.
Ramsey sports and outdoor is having a liquidation sale
They also have a killer deal on the Ramlösa
Coolers too, only red. Fuck blue!
You know if they carry coolers? I was gonna buy one from a Nigerian on the street but thought they might be stolen
Red or blue?
Fuck that. Go buy a Tabasco bottle print polo shirt and be a real man.
guys today, they want to buried in their track suits

What’s everyone’s favorite brands that can be worn in the gym and outside. I’m looking for some recommendations on brands that look good casually and are pretty good for the gym.
I like Vuori for their pants and I have two long sleeves, one has a good which I use for travel.
Under Armour. Probably not shocking anyone.
Arcteryx.
This year I've also gotten two pairs of Janji running pants and those have been nice. I took one of the travel pair on the flight back from Korea to Atlanta and it was comfy.
I wear Vuori and Tasc. Tasc is underappreciated in my opinion - some really good stuff, and very sustainable if that matters to you.
Edit: also Rhone, but they're even more expensive. Sale only.
What do you like from tasc? Looking at the website now.
Everything in the Carrollton collection
Flag Nor Fail, Better Bodies
If one of the bigger running brands started sponsoring you and buy you all your gear (shoes clothes etc) with the caveat that you can never use any other brands ever, which would it be?
I personally get a special satisfaction from having all my running equipment uniform, so I wonder what is considered the overall best brand for road running gear.
I feel like the standard answer is Nike cause of their availability and higher standard of product, but you think Puma, Adidas stand a chance?
Thanks
Asics
Easily make the best road shoes and get to travel to Tokyo for HQ.
Nike you could argue had the best race shoes and not a single decent training shoe for the past 5 years. Now they have one decent one with Vomero.
I was a Brooks boy for the longest time, but since the new Ghosts weren't getting the best reviews, I went for Novablasts and they are fantastic!
Novablasts were a game changer for me. I love that shoe!
Zoom fly 6….vomero plus….Pegasus….
Vomero and Zoom Fly 6 are very recent shoes they put out that have been decent.
Nobody has recommended a Pegasus since like 36… or even before that, so you’re pretty much saying what I’m saying, they haven’t had a good non race shoe in a very long time.
What’s wrong with the Pegasus? That’s been my default since I got back into running a few years ago
Pegasus was the perfect daily trainer 5 years ago, it just hasn’t advanced with the daily trainers of other brands. I haven’t tried the 41 but have ran probably over 10000km in the 34-40; the foam is dull and hard but also has no snap, you have to do all the work. I use them because you can find them cheap, they're reliable, durable, fit me well and I think it’s probably good to beat your legs up a bit occasionally. I don’t know if you can get a ‘better’ running shoe for £50-70 (which is what I pay) but you can definitely get better for full price
Yeah Asics for sure due to how good their whole lineup is from dailys through to race shoes ... Megablast Superblast Metaspeed Novablasts Ray Kayanos are solid too imo also good looking kit have it all unlike someone like a Nike who have elite race shoes but then thats about it
Lmao OP asking about the best running gear brands and everybody just listing their favorite snacks.
Saucony I like their shoes
Haven't tried the ASICS clothing but as a women I just need my kayanos and a solid sports bra and could then make do with the rest
Asics, most likely.
Tracksmith, rabbit, oiselle, Rockay, and Patagonia.
While often unpopular on this sub, Nike running gear from their website (non-outlet) is fantastic and lasts forever. Their cheaper stuff sold in retail stores never seems to hold up.
Whatever is on sale.....
Baleaf is nice and affordable.
Patagonia, Rabbit, Salomon, and New Balance.
At the LBS today and got into an interesting discussion with some of the employees. They dont think the profit margins and market is there for it to be worthwhile but I just cant see how that can be the case.
Nike tried, paying Lance Armstrong a king's ransom to be the face of Nike cycling. Obviously, that turned out to be a misstep, but also, the Nike gear I tried was poor quality and seemed designed by people that didn't cycle much.
Nike have sponsored Cav for quite a while, making him a few pairs of cycling shoes based on some of their iconic classics, including one based on Ronaldo's original Mercurial football boots: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk2kAxdFluO/
Might get buried now, but Nike outsources their Olympic sports to Athlete Performance Systems. Or more accurately, licenses their name to APS
I still have a pair of nike bibs, NOS leftovers from the shop I work at. TBH, they're solid.
Nike was into making cycling apparel at least when Lance was prominent in the tour, I just don't think there's enough volume to be done for any of these companies to get into an already saturated market without acquiring one of the major players.
I have a Nike jersey, one of the USPS team kit replicas. It sucks. Super thick fabric that doesn’t breathe worth a damn and the cut is pretty awful. No thanks.
Adidas did the 5/10 shoes, ubiquitous in mountain biking
They also did Team Sky before they went to Rapha (now on Castelli) and still do Team GB
Team GB cycling clothing is Kalas nowadays.
I believe Adidas also owns Troy Lee, which does mountain biking apparel and helmets.
Nike was in to Hockey for a good while before they bought Bauer. Their products were pretty good to be honest
When I was a teenager I really wanted John Tomac's Nike Pooh Bahs. Actually I still want them…
Nike, Adidas, Under Armor, Reebok, Puma, etc.
Target has some really nice athletic wear
The leggings I own have lasted 5+ years and seem to still have a good few years left in them.
And they were only 25 bucks
Target athletic wear is the only athletic wear I wear lol
wear
The only activewear you actively wear.
They also have amazing bedspreads.
I hate to say it but Lululemon is comfy as fuck. It is crazy expensive but great.
Had a sibling that worked there and have multiple shorts plus some work slacks and love every piece of clothing I have from them.
Second this. The material is great and the cut is really good. They just feel a level above the average brands.
I came here to comment this. I love them.
I’ve been shopping for a hoodie and was going to get american giant but based on your post think I might get luluemon instead!
Whatever's at TJ Maxx.
I don't pay full price for clothes that just get stanked up.
Discount
I like Nike and Adidas
