Online Marketplaces
For rare Funko Pops, online marketplaces are a popular choice among collectors. Websites like eBay and Mercari are frequently mentioned as reliable sources for finding specific pops [1:4],
[3:3],
[4:7]. These platforms allow you to search for particular items and often have listings from sellers willing to negotiate prices. Whatnot is another app recommended for live auctions, providing an opportunity to see what you're buying in real-time
[3:1].
Retail Stores
Many collectors find success at retail stores that occasionally stock rare or exclusive Funko Pops. Commonly mentioned stores include GameStop, Hot Topic, Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and BoxLunch [2:1],
[4:3]. Some of these stores offer pre-orders, which can guarantee availability
[2:2]. Additionally, local comic book and toy stores may carry vaulted or exclusive pops
[2:1],
[4:3].
Collector Communities and Swap Meets
Participating in collector communities and swap meets can be an effective way to find rare Funko Pops. Reddit's Funkoswap is a community dedicated to buying, selling, and trading Funko Pops [1:3]. Large collectible swap meets, such as those in California, provide opportunities to purchase from personal connections and retailers
[5:1].
Tips for Finding Deals
Finding deals on rare Funko Pops often requires patience and persistence. Regularly checking online shops and auction sites can lead to discovering pops at lower prices [5:4]. Image searching pops seen in public can help identify cheaper listings on platforms like eBay
[5:2]. It's also beneficial to keep an eye on sales or discounts offered by online retailers such as Entertainment Earth and the Funko website
[3:2].
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
While these discussions provide valuable insights, it's important to verify the authenticity of rare Funko Pops when purchasing online. Avoid sellers from regions known for counterfeit products, such as China or Hong Kong [4:11]. Additionally, consider the condition of the box if it matters to your collection, as some platforms may not prioritize packaging quality

I just got started collecting pops and am wondering what to look for and where to go to find the best options.
What do you mean by rare? Online is the best place to go for older / harder to find pops if that’s what you mean.
Like hard to find pops or uncommon and where online do I go like which websites.
Funkoswap reddit as well.
Mercari, eBay
I'm rather new to collecting, and was wondering where I could get some of the rarer ones to add to my collection
Reserve at GameStop, guaranteed that way. Only time I leave them is for exclusives. Far as I can tell the only retailer that does preorders that is not a solid two months after everyone else has them.
online (zavvi, bol, large), local gamestore and second handed
When I do occasionally go, a mall that’s like an hour drive and I go to the GameStop, Hot Topic and Barnes and Noble there.
I usually go to Gamestop, Hot Topic, Target, Best Buy, Michaels, Walmart, and BoxLunch. Sometimes preorder from Entertainment Earth. Good places to maybe find some rarer ones, check local toy stores and comic book stores. My local shops sell pops vaulted and all!
Hope this helps
I think OP does not live in the US
I do lol
I'm starting a little collection and was wondering if anybody has any tips for a beginner on the best places to look for them.
I’d say BAM and GameStop are both great options if that’s all you have in town. A lot of people have been unloading their collections recently, so Mercari and Whatnot are great 3rd party sites. If you don’t care about Box condition, Amazon and the Funko website always have sales or deals going on. Happy hunting!
Ebay, Amazon, Whatnot app
Neewbury Comics if you have one.
My Mercari page 🤫
If you’re looking for specific pieces, Whatnot is a live auction app, where you can see what your buying in live time. A lot of times, your bigger sellers will cut you a deal under what the current market value is, especially if you bundle multiple pops. And there’s less chance of issues with them selling you a fake. And their customer service is pretty great, if you do have any issues.
Legitimate online sites, try Funko.com, Entertainment Earth, FYE, Hot Topic, Spencer’s
If you’re just looking for random pops to collect try eBay lots, Fb marketplace, Mercari, etc tho with these options you run a higher risk of fakes, pay close attention the listing details & you may wanna pay thru a third party like PayPal, for an added level of protection if there’s issues.
Retail settings, look at places like reputable comic shops, toy stores, drug stores, Barnes & Noble, 1 in a Million books, Gamespot, Amazon, Walmart, Target and they’ve even begun filtering into stores like Five Below, Ross & Tj Max
I would call myself a novice consumer when it comes to Funko Pops. With that being said, where do you like to shop for them? The best place I know of is Barnes and Noble and that's it.
I saw posts talking about hauls and was wondering where you go to make these numerous purchases! :)
Depends on the Pop. Most that I collect these days are exclusives, so you can only get them from certain locations.
Are those locations regional or store based like only at Walmart, Target, etc?
Store based. For me a lot of the ones I like are at Walgreens. Target and Walmart can sometimes get good exclusives. Hot Topic, BoxLunch, GameStop, and Barnes and Noble also will have exclusives. If there is a common I want, then I'll either order it online from any place that may be running a discount or has good shipping methods (Entertainment Earth & Hot Topic always do a good job with shipping).
Local Comic Book stores may carry Funko Pops. Then there is Walmart, Target, FYE, Amazon, GameStop, Hot Topic, Walgreens, Barnes&Noble, EntertainmentEarth, FunkoShop, PopInABox, BoxLunch, and many others like Gemini Collectibles. Also can buy from places like eBay, Mercari, r/funkoswap, offerup, craigslist, etc.
Thank you so much! This helps. I was just at Barnes and Noble thinking to myself that there has to be other places for Funko Pops!
eBay isn’t always trust worthy so gotta careful what you buy on it.
eBay is absolutely trustworthy and can be better when it comes to shipping as long as you do your research. I have bought many Pops from Mercari and eBay, never had an issue. Always great communication with sellers that are willing to work with you on a good deal. If there is an issue, eBay also is great helping with disputes.
Ebay is quite literally the best place to buy from. If you arent pleased with how it arrives, you can return at no cost to yourself.
Minimize your issues by purchasing from users that have built a positive rating.
As long as it doesn't say "shipped from China" or "shipped from Hong Kong", you're typically safe.
I mostly go to Walmart or target and sometimes I find some really good stuff but where else can o look for funko pops and is there like an app where it lists the ones I have
the main stores and my local comic book shop.
Hottopic and boxlunch during hotcash period. Boxlunch for random commons outside of hotcash period. Both online stores ship in protector boxes. No shipping concerns with either of them.
Beyond that, everything is exclusive to one store or another.
(already posted in r/Loungefly -- Mods please let me know if this is a problem)
My fiancée is a huge collector and she's constantly reminding me how hard it is to buy unique and rare pops (and really any other merch) online!
Here are some of her complaints:
Anyways, I'm curious, how do y'all go about sourcing pops online? Is there something me and my fiancée are missing?
Normally if I find a pop I like out in public I'll snag a pic and image search it on my phone. I normally just go by the cheapest listing on eBay depending on condition. eBay has been the easiest to find a specific pop you want. Ones that are up for auction are your best bet on finding them for cheap. I've gotten a few chase versions for less than 5 bucks. Or I just try random local game/thrift stores.
this is exactly what my gf does lol, she'll see something out in the wild, reverse image search, and then see if she finds anything like it
Just gotta keep checking your online shops you never know when someone will wanna get rid of something
Oh wow, how often do you check?
Me personally depends since I don't have too much to spend on pops as I get paid every two weeks ik I try to check least few times a week there's lots of sites you can find em like whatnot, mercari or whatever it's called lol other then that not much you can do till someone decides to sell theirs
Finding gears a war is impossible there’s so many dupes and the markets so up and down it’s insane
dupes is crazy, that must be super frustrating
Feel free to add to your list: Receiving it not broken 🤣 (thanks shipping services).
When I was buying frequent, I would mainly use Mercari, but search through Google—I Google searched what I wanted and picked through Mercari listings from there, then scrolled to the bottom of each listing to look at the recommended listings since usually a few of them are the same item.
I also went to a huge collectible swap meet in Cali that has a ton of cool stuff, and a ton of Funko Pops are sold there by people with personal connections and retailers.
Nowadays, I’m trying to sell my collection. THAT is a struggle. 😅
I am trying to buy some of the wave 1 friends pops for around stash price, but I have tried funkoswap, eBay, and Mercari. Does anyone know some good websites to buy some of these rare pops for a reasonable price. If anyone has these pops and wants to sell them then please contact me, thanks!
I don't use Facebook for anything EXCEPT three funko buy/sell/ trade groups. I highly recommend getting into them and searching there. Amazing community of fine fellows!
Hey can you direct me to those groups?
Can you link me a couple of these groups?
Yea definitely wouldn't mind finding out these groups
eBay or Mercari are probably the best places
eBay
Patience is key
Rare Pops and reasonable prices @ 3rd party sites are typically like unicorns.

Is there anywhere to buy rare and vaulted pops besides eBay or Mercari? I’m currently in the market for an original Riddler, Penguin, and Two Face. They are on eBay and Mercari it’s not like I can’t find them but when it comes to expensive pops for me I like to look around and see what’s the best deal I can find. Thanks for suggestions :)
Best bet is Facebook groups if you dont want to go the Ebay route. I've never used offerup so cant comment on that. My experience with local shops like comic or game stores(not places like gamestop) is they are overpriced but they will do trades or store credit which can be good if you got stuff to get rid of. I had this awesome little shop that was like 90% magic the gathering based but they used to sell pops and had some exclusives or vaulted pops and yes they were overpriced but since they focused mainly on mtg cards they were cool with letting pops go for cheaper if I traded magic cards that were in demand at the time.
offerup, letgo, facebook groups and funkoswap
If you’re looking for a physical store, 2nd & Charles as well as any local comic shops near you is a great opportunity.
Offerup
Pretty much all your options have been listed above but consider local Facebook groups, local pop swap/BST events, and then potentially local shops. Some of my favorites I have found for a good price have been at big pop events! Consider driving over a couple towns to see if you can anything also maybe make a day trip out of it I have done that a few times!
I’m a pretty casual collector so I can usually get the pops I want pretty easily because they are just simple ones. But for some reason im struggling so hard to find the homelander pop with his glowing eyes 😭. It just seems a little more rare I guess? Anyways, where do you guys go for pops that are a little harder to find?
Whatnot is a good start.
I tried whatnot for this pop on three separate occasions and all three sellers didnt follow up lmaoo was this just rlly bad luck?
Call and travel to collectible shops. I don't know of any websites.
If you live in the US, start with Mercari. Ruins the "hunt" aspect, but you can find almost any older, or chase Pops on the there. You can also negotiate for lower price.
But if you are trying to find one in the "wild" it really depends on your local geography. If you are in a large metro, or at least within easy driving distance, I would try to find a EntertainMart or Books-a-Million / 2nd and Charles. Those places take in trades / collections and you can find random / older Pops there. EntertainMart has a seperate area with cabinets that has more rare Pops. Other than that, try second hand / antique stores. Super random in Pop stock, but sometimes they have gems.
That said, I don't think Homelanders eyes "glow" in the dark. There is a Target exclusive version that has "red" eyes and that one looks to be around $50 online, but they do not glow in thr dark. If you want the "glowing" eyes one, you might be thinking of the Starlight Chase variant. That one does have "glowing" eyes, where as the common of her does not.
That said, holy crap. Did not realize how much my Boys line has appreciated. They are going for a nice amount online.
Yea i just meant that target exclusive, unfortunately there are like zero collectible shops near me
Hello everyone, I'm not from the United States, but when I come there, I want to buy a couple of rare funco, where do you advise me to get them?
Chalice collectibles company
Where are you going to in the states?
Depends on where you're going. Most retail stores sell them, but in a limited capacity. If you're in SoCal, I'd highly recommend Chalice Collectibles. It's wall to wall pops, even rare ones. They're fairly priced, too. When I still collected, they were my main source. You can also research stores inside local malls. Some shops that cater to collectors sell pops.
I’ve managed to find it online on a couple websites, Fugitive Toys and Ozzie Collectables.. I have never heard of either of those websites though so maybe one of y’all have? I’m new to Funko Pops and prefer not to use eBay so I’m kind of behind on know how..
Not just for this one, but for future reference as well, what are some of y’all’s go to places to get pops?
Scored mine from BoxLunch.
buy the damn thing on ebay. literally click "shopping" after you search it?
Just look up the store to see if it’s legit. Worse that can happen is you file a chargeback with your bank but use a digital card.
fugitive toys is aight
Thank you!
got one for my brother at gamestop
